Typing accents in android - Nook Touch General

Hello folks,
I've been using ezpdf a lot to read articles and books in pdf for my master degree. But whenever I try to comment, using accent (in portuguese we have several, such as ยด, `, ~ and ^), you just have to use a long press on the vowel, choose the accented vowel then press X to close the accent box - if you don't press X, the box keeps on being open and you can' type anymore until you close the box.
Is there a way (through app or internal menu) to make the accent box close right after you click your choice?

[Q] Gingerbread SMS dictionary issues

Hello!
I have searched this and found little about it, so I'm gonna ask you about it.
I have LeeDroid HD running Android 2.3.3. I have 2 main issues regarding the sms app: the red dotted line that appears when using words not recognized by the phone (I write my messages in Romanian), and the fact that, when I tap a word in the message (say I typed a wrong character in the middle of it), instead of moving the cursor at that position and allowing me to edit freely, it moves it there, selects the entire word, and presents me options from an English dictionary to choose from as alternatives for the word. When I try to move the cursor back and forth, it navigates the suggestions, and the only way of getting out of them is to tap a white space, then navigating to the needed position with the arrow keys. All the options under Language and keyboard > Touch Input are unchecked (Spell correction, Prediction and Word completion). Am I doing anything wrong? Is it a way to bring back the behaviour of good old 2.2 sms app, or do I need to switch to a custom, less time consuming sms app?
Thank you!

Tips and tricks that help better use of your Note

1. To read at night, display brightness can be dimmed using the app 'screen filter' at http://market.android.com/search?q=pname:com.haxor . (Galaxytab1)
2. ezPdf has this 'freehand' annotation, pen can write on the pdf file and saved there itself, visible on any platform as comments within the pdf.

3. Use this app to get to camcorder directly, bypassing camera.

4. You can connect any mouse and keyboard plus any samsung printer to galaxy note just using on-the-go cable. (bdodge1989)
5. It is not something exclusive to galaxy note, butI discovered these Swype keypad shortcuts on my note: (galaxytab1)
I. Swype key to '123' key swipe: edit options
II. Swype key to 'a'key swipe: select all
III. Swype key to 'x', 'c', 'v'key swipe: cut, copy, paste respectively.
IV. Swype key to 'r' or 't' or 'y' key swipe: numeric keyboard. (este548)
6. One of the best features I like on the GNote is the Clipboard,I havn't noticed this in any other Android device.
one can select the text in almost any application and it will be copied to the Clipboard,I have downloaded an App called AndClip from the Market(free),with it I can View, copy,Delete etc. all the texts which are copied to the Clipboard.
Very usefull feature. (hagba)
7. The notification bar is tough to draw on such a large screen with single hand use, which is why I am using this app:

[Q] Adding words to the dictionary

I'm really enjoying the updated android keyboard and don't think I'm going to install swype on this phone.
What I do not understand is how I can quickly add new words to the dictionary.
I know I can go into the "language and input" settings to add words, but yesterday I manually typed a word that was not in the dictionary and it asked me if I wanted to add it. What did I do different to get it to ask me to add a word to the dictionary? This will be a real time saver in the first weeks of using this device.

Click to collapse
Type the word, it will appear in the middle of the suggestion bar (correctly recognized words will appear either side), tap on the word in the suggestion bar.

That's how I suspect it should work, though it only occasionally gives me the "tap word again to add to dictionary" option.
Though I'm noticing a pattern to words it will not add, such as expletives or words with less than 4 letters

clipboard and copying issues ahhhhhh!

Guys.
firstly in so many apps when I need it most, for example when I'mtyping now the clipboard ffeature is just not their... I don't get it... why???
I mean the one where you select on the clog is it? Lol and it gives different options like speech input floating keyboard etc...
also when I press and hold on text to copy it only one arrow shows a lot of the time, again what I mean is we could use the two arrows on either side of the word for example and move them to highlight more text...

[How To] Fix Stock Predictive Text

A quick search of the internet shows that I am not the only one who has accidentally cleared the Samsung Keyboard app data and wound up with a predictive text capability which was not working. If you find yourself with an empty white box instead of a list of words to choose from, simply do the following:
Keyboard Settings (can be found at the bottom whenever the keyboard is visible) --> Select Input Languages --> English (US)/(UK) can be found under Available Languages. Just select the proper language and it will download the library for use. Back out of the menu, making sure it is selected above, and it will be back to work for you.
