The n1 was more of an experimental device. That's why they never got it. The samsung galaxy is a bit different.
Well if they decided not to sale it then it would never be on sale, now if they decided not to sell it Samsung would sue the pants off Sprint for ordering all those units and never marketing them.
PS: Just a typo joke, they're obligated to sell it not to mention it would be the dumbest move in the history of Sprint if they just dropped the phone for no reason.

exactly, if i remember correctly after announcing the EVO, Sprint just pretty much said whats the point? they believe the EVO is a better phone than the N1, which i agree in some ways but disagree in others lol. I would've loved a Nexus One on sprint.

Yeah..sprint has always been poor at letting people "choose"..they didn't want the TP2 to conflict with Pre sales so they delayed TP2..they didn't want the N1 to conflict with EVO sales so they got rid of the N1...as much as I like sprint..this makes me a sad panda ...Can't they let the consumer decide what they want?...its not like they make more money on selling a Pre over selling a TP2 anyways (aside from the legacy plan thing)....or maybe they thought if they released the N1, they wouldn't have an excuse to charge the $10 fee :/

Me too, would have loved N1 on Sprint. Don't care for 4G nor the $10 tax. Faster updates from Google, no bloat like Sense, 3.7" is perfect size in hand...I find the Evo a bit too big sometimes. Epic 4G might just be it for me instead.
I just wanted it over the evolution because I prefer vanilla android over sense. Always hated it but now that cm6 is available for the EVO I guess I'm good

And yeah the atrix is pretty much what I expected the Nexus S to be. Gingerbread had no business being released on a rehashed galaxy s. They shoulda just pushed gingerbread to all n1 owners (which was the point of getting that phone in the first place.) And then got 2.4 out on the NS or whatever nexus it would've been if they would've waited. Perhaps a "Nexus Duo" or something since they didn't want a nexus 2

Yeah, the Nexus S is gonna be a complete and udderly waste of google's time with the outs of the dual core phones with HDMI and an actual SD card slot. Not sure what google was thinking with the Nexus S, but I'm thinking they didn't want developers ****ing with their hardware with those kind of restrictions.

Most likely a lot lol. I dont think its worth a switch on march first though..i think you should hold off for a month or so while all the kinks get worked out, like a horribly locked bootloader.
Also, we be mad that the epic hasn't gotten official froyo yet....but according to a recent study, ATT has never updated ANY of its android phones...EVER lol

Nah I think they just wanted to hop on the galaxy s train and sammy just felt like releasing the same thing with a few tradeoffs (no sd slot...but you get 2.3 lol)

Do you really want that 2GB data cap? I guess it's okay if you don't use much data, but if you ever do use more than 2GB, be prepared to pay for it.
Yeah I know at&t sucks bad and I will prolly hate it. I just couldn't believe the specs when I saw them. I do use alot of data. Way more than the.limit on at&t and I forgot about that so thanks for pointing that out. Wow I never knew they never updated an android phone. Well you guys ruined my dreams. Lol

I wasn't aware that the numbers were this low. I would think that this would be something that Google would be concerned with because eventually this could hurt the growth of Android. Marketing is a powerful thing and if Apple and Microsoft are in some way able to get into the heads of the masses. You know how powerful marketing can be even when it's just trying to spread FUD. The company that I work for has BB as the "corporate standard" but because we purchased several other companies in the past year that standard has been loosened a bit because of the high number of iPhone users at the other company. There are only two of us in the IT Department that have Android and with what I see going on I still don't feel comfortable pushing Android. The first time there was an issue I know that my CIO would use it as the reason why we shouldn't use Android and that would be the end of that.

Haha, so true. I remember when I was showing my friend my wireless tether feature. He was so impressed he did a jailbreak of his iphone4 to get it. Then he got a nice little bill the next month when he went over 2gb. Needless to say, his iphone is no longer jailbroken.
Okay guys don't troll me here but I did find out a little bit about the announcement. Okay, it's a new 4g phone, that runs android...may seem short or like I didn't give you any information but this is what it is. So, let's hope it's an HTC device that does something amazing hopefully...once again, please no trolling just passing on the info I received from my store when the Sprint vendor came in to setup a display at the mobile store in my store.

Actually, realistically, retooling the iphone for Sprint would take minimal effort. No iphone is or ever will be branded, so basically the Verizon one is simply a "cdma iphone" programmed for Verizon. I'm not HOPING for this as the announcement, as I actually switched to android from an iphone, and I'm happy I did, so I don't care either way about a Sprint i-turd. Just saying it would take very little to do it.
Aperently samsung dose not want to update this phone anymore so what will happen to the vibrant
i believe our phones are in the hands of the developers to make roms like ics passon that will be the closest thing to the ics rom that we will get

It's old yes, but it never really got any updates. It got 2.2 but I think it wasn't ever an OTA, it was a kies only update that bricked a lot of phones. Ive only used custom roms, but if I had kept this 500 dollar phone stock and never received any updates/fixes for it, I'd be pretty pissed. I don't know of any other phones that got the shaft THIS bad...I cannot believe samsung/tmo got away with this. It was a flagship phone, not some $199 retail phone they gave away........Hell all the other variants have OFFICIAL 2.3...nexus has the same specs and has official ICS....

Actually I got my vibrants bogof from Tmobile so it was 2 for $149. For that price I'm pretty happy with what I got. I could understand somebody that got it full retail or at launch day at full price feeling like they were shafted though.

Since im on an old em+ plan that doesnt cover subsidized phones, i paid full price for my vibrant. Barely had that phone for a year and i fully blame tmobile for the piss poor support. Never again. Im much happier now with my galaxy nexus.

AT&T might have awful customer service, but things like this are the reasons I stick around. AT&T seems to be very happy with the sales of the Galaxy devices and is becoming pretty fair with their updates, so it doesn't surprise me that they'll probably get the S4 first. Also, I'm sure that Samsung loves AT&T.

I dropped AT&T after 10+ years when they refused to offer Android because they had their noses up Steve Jobs' sphincter.
But I went to T-Immobile which was a real mess.
Am on Verizon now, but will be back to AT&T for the S4 so I can have an unlocked global phone. No more CDMA for me. And there is no way in Hell that I would ever lock myself into a contract. Kind of like playing Russian Roulette just to drive a car you can't really save for.

Whenever we go in to ATT store i run Speedtest on one of their 4g phones- usually around 8mb. Then i run it on my VZW and it's like 18mb. So i think verizon wins in that category.
