Personally i got mine for $650 directly 16GB version, i hate phone carriers contracts
I've read some people seems to have paid less even without carriers.
on ebay the average price for the 16GB version is around $750
Mine is going to cost me about £500 in total on an 18 month contract with 600 mins, texts and data.

380£ for the i9000 8GB version+8GB SD card.
It's so much fun not having to pay VAT. lol.
It depends which version.
The smaller 8GB ones are in the $500-550 range nowadays.
The larger 16GB version goes for about $120-$170 more.

I like the larger storage, since I used to have sporadic corruption with SD cards in WM, and from what I read Android is not exempt from these, either. I want peace of mind when I am on the road and don't have a backup.
£280 all in (inclusive of VAT) with a third party seller on a really crappy contract, but I already have a contract with T-Mobile which I'm now using in the SGS. Mine is an unlocked, unbranded 8gb stock phone, so free of carrier crap too.
Dialaphone - £20pm 18mth O2 contact, downgradeable at month 9 to £15pm, plus I got £35 cashback by going through TCB. The O2 contract is really crap - 100 minutes, unlimited texts and no data allowance, but £280 for a stock SGS is damn good. They stopped doing the O2 deal earlier this week, though.

£355 from o2 unlocked, to get it you have to already have been with o2 for about 6 months I think and then you can ask to purchase a phone from them (i.e. say im unhappy with current phone but dont want to affect contract) this wasn't the best deal by a long way (desire £285) but i wanted this phone.
Damn, Holland is expensive.

Vodafone contract
Vodafone are offering the phone free for £30 a month (24Months) or £35 (18months). However if you are an existing customer and been on a higher tariff such as the £40 Blackberry you can negotiate the price down by £5 a month by going through the call centre.
So I've just upgraded and taken an 18 month contract at £30 a month with free phone. This gives me 600 minutes and 500MB.
This is significantly cheaper than other networks are offering a WP7 phone, Orange and O2 are £45 for 18 month contracts. I considered the HD7 and Samsung Omnia but opted to stay with Vodafone as the LG had good reviews and 16GB compared to the Omnia. HD7 looked good if not a little bulky but I wasnt going to pay an extra £270 over the lifetime of the contract.
Has anyone found a place to buy the Optimus 7 sim free in the UK? I've got one pre-ordered from Expansys but they still don't have any details on availability.
I'm tied into my contract with T-Mobile until November (damn 18 month contracts) from when I got my HD2 through mobilephonesdirect.co.uk so my only option is to go sim free. I'm not too keen on buying an unlocked handset from eBay (I've seen a few on there but don't know how much I trust them) - I'd like one stock without any of the Vodafone alterations.
I was in London however I did not have enough time to purchase the ZTE Blade II. Orange was selling the device for 99stg + 10 talk time. I have checked on ebay however these devices are sold relatively much more expensive (obviously). Orange online shop does not accept non-UK registered credit cards. Looking for an alternative option. Any ideas?.

I think T-Mobile have their Vivacity on sale at £89, that's a blade2 too. Other shops might have them in stock (I don't know which). You could draw cash on your credit card (or from your bank) & pay for it with cash if you're still in the UK.
If you pay with cash I think they ask for you to buy £20 air time. Otherwise try other retailers suck as argos, I got my original osf from there with only £10 airtime and paid cash

The Xperia U is suppose to have the lowest specs out of the Xeperia S , P, and U. Its $299.99 brand new from the sony store so that does save about 50 bucks
As per the title, Carphone Warehouse currently have the black, silver and blue options for £599.99 sim free - that's £50 less than Clove or HTC. Might be worth thinking about if you are considering preordering!
I was going to go with the Sony Xperia XZ Premium, but the HTC U11 seems to be the phone that the Xperia should have been so with the extra £50 off.... I've put my order in! ?
