[Q] Are the newest Nook Colors still able to be rooted?

I was very disappointed to find out that the new nook tablets are not currently able to be hacked. Are the newest nook colors still able to be hacked?
Yes they are ! Just did 2 of them that were purchased this month with the 1.3 version. =)

The two NT's we rooted don't have Bluetooth. Hope to find a setup that enables bluetooth. It works on our NC's tho
Sent from my NookColor using xda premium
Bluetooth exists, there is just no antenna for it, so range/strength is terrible.
My Nook Color was bought in Feb this year, and I completely rooted it, Cyanogen and Phiremod7 ROM. So I certaintly feel that the very newest NC's are completely rootable. From what I read, and experienced with our NT's, they are still in developement. It's a no-brainer that the kinks will be straightened out soon, tho

I guess as long as it, new NC still has the same hardware, it is rootable.
As for NT, it can be rooted. New ROM on NT? still alpha or even pre-alpha.

Best cheap Ics tablet

Looking to get a kindle fire for 120 to root and put Ics on it. Is there a better choice at the moment? So many crap android tablets its hard to tell what is good right now. The lack of Bluetooth is the only option the fire does not have.
Has anybody tried the haipad?
Pure ICS only
i suggest you hold off till google i/o and see if they release one for $199
Yeah I know been hearing it going to be around 150. But either way if I get the fire now I can sell it it for what I paid for it.
Pure ICS only
HP touchpad was pretty cheap

You can get the Lenovo A1 for $169 brand new on Newegg. I don't know if there is an ICS build for it though. Another option is the Anovo or something like that. Also around $169 new.

I found a kindle fire on Craigslist for $100 already had one so no use to me but look around there you should be able to pick one up cheap that way.

I'd say that for now, the Fire is the best Android tablet for under $200.
This Hyundai device direct from China for $110 seems pretty good. Also available in black.

Ben's Outlet has the refurbished 7” Acer first gen tablet for $170 and that has an ICS upgrade.

I actually did sell my kindle fire and stepped up to this - fantastic device for the money! Though the development community is no where as active as this one is yet.

Maybe nook tablet? im just waiting to see if they make a kindle fire 2, and if it has features that the first kindle fire is missing
Have you found a 10" tablet with ICS in that price range? Quality build, even if generic or name brand.

there are several cheap ICS tablets available, I'd recommend uPlay tablet C70, it sports 1.2 Ghz processor, muti touch 7 inch screen, front camera that does full 1080p and has an HDMI port. The best part is that it comes dirt cheap at $79 with one year warranty!

Selling Acer a500.. but for how much?

Im trying to sell my a500 which is rooted and is in great condition. I have a cover for it that has three different settings for standing it up which also covers the screen. There is nothing wrong with the tablet and im not trying to sell it here unless i actually found a buyer but i was wondering what do you guys think would be a good price? Ive had it since january 2012 and its running 4.03. The only reason im selling it is i want to get the asus transformer tf300

Oddly enough, I was looking to do the same and get the Nexus 7 tab. Just doing a Google shop search on the a500, I see refurbished ones starting at $250. I was thinking of selling mine, just like yours (perfect shape etc), to friends for ~$250.
That sounds pretty reasonable.. thanks

IMHO, getting another Android tablet same size with different brand, I don't see any benefit to it. Have you gone to the store and try the Asus TF300? I went to Bestbuy (store in USA) and tried it out but didn't notice any much different.
I just want to sell it while it still has its value and thats actually a good idea to go to best buy.. did you see any that you liked better than the a500?

Not big enough. I have the HD+ and like the 9 inch size, and only paid $150 new.

Overpriced.
I am waiting to see a full review before I make up my mind. Not getting one any time soon though just had a few unexpected expenses.
