Yes, all of that is normal.

LOOOL, that darkened area, is a stylised effect to make the system menu pop more and stand out from whats in the background. It's akin to the gadget sidebar in Windows Vista.

the effect for 3.2 only ?
Thank you all

xp start bar

hi, im looking for a way to change my start bar and soft keys bar to a black glossy xp bar. can anyone tell me how to do this. ive searched the forums and cant find anything, but I remember seeing pics of someone who had it. thanks
wisbar advance
Using "Wisbar", it's possible to skin the start bars...
anyother way? i've used wisbar before and its the worst application ive ever used
try this for size
well well
look what i dug up when I typed glossy black bars in the "search engine".....perhaps it was "broken" when the first search was rendered....
maybe this one helps you:

I haven't seen such an application yet, but i think it's not impossible if someone edits a theme file for wm6. Like it's possible to change the top and bottom bars to simple plain black or green for wm7 themes so I think it's also possible to change them to anything you want to.

mobile 6.5
ist standert in windows mobile 6.5
The screenshot posted by DrDemento seems to be WM6.1, then there IS possible..
....or can be only a photoshopped screen.... but I'm in doubt of that.
However, I don't know how to do that thing because I'm happy with WM6.5 that has got bars transparency by default.

no that is just images in the taskbar and bottombar not transparent... if u change background wit that image it will remain like that
this image was from a couple years ago i think
Looking at the picture I think you might mean "Glass" not "Transparent", if so then I think you can get those glass bars by installing a theme which has them or using a software like UI Tweaker. I had such glass bars on wm5. I can't really tell on my laptop because the screen is so small and crap!

Screen position since flashing 1.48

Since flashing the new 1.48 wwe rom my home screen position is now about 3mm to high, which reveals the lock screen wallpaper underneath.
I`ve posted some pics to show it....
This pic is my lock screen wallpaper.

Which can be seen still showing in the bottom part of my home screen
In the image below you can see the Settings text is to high...
Its as if the manilla screen is to high position.
I have tried a hard reset but it comes back the same.
I can use the same background for both wallpapers but the text is still to high.
Can anybody shed some light on this problem
This also happens with the HTC bundled wallpapers...
Thanks
Have you got e-Natives Showcase installed?

Yes...Have uninstalled it and all is ok now thanks...
Any reason why it does this...
You need to install version 1.0.1b, because the one you had was for newer builds of Windows Mobile and applies the so-called "position fix". These newer builds have different sizez of the top and bottom bars. Alternatively, you can leave the version you have but change the registry to cancel this position fix. See the Showcase thread to learn how to do it.
Many thanks for your time....
sorry wrong post...
Or you can install 1.1.0 and edit the registry to:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\e-Natives Technology\Showcase]
"SUITE_NewTaskbarSize" to 52.
"SUITE_PositionFix_WinClasses" delete the value "Manila;RESCO_EXPLORER_CLASS", so this string will be empty.

Setting wallpaper

Ok the question is not as stupid as you think, maybe. When choosing a photo from the gallery to set as wallpaper the selection rectangle has two wings on the side, I can not figure out what they do actually. In fact they do not seem to do anything at all. but it seems to me that if they are there, they must have some sort of function?

It shows the part of your picture showing horizontly and verticaly
It's a sizing grid or frame, showing what portion of the image will be used for the wallpaper. If the original image is much larger, you can choose which area of the image to use as the wallpaper or resize the image by dragging the grid.

It's the vibrate icon. Whatever skin or theme you are using changed it from the vibrating phone icon.

I think I found the solution for it. Go to developer option/Quick Setting Developer Tiles and there you'll see that icon along with other. Turn on the icon and it'll be in your button screen along with wifi and etc. Turn it off there. Provlem solve
