My Market App disappeared, strange....It was there, icon is there, but app is gone. - EVO 4G General

It is weird. I had the app and used it and now the icon is there, but it wouldn't work. Then when I looked in the app area it isn't there. I have Kings speed Rom I think. I'll have to check to make sure. It has sense 3.0. Has anyone had their market vanish. I see post where people are asking how to install it, but I've always had it for like 2 weeks.

Reflash the rom without wiping data - just wipe cache and dalvik. You of course have to know what rom you're running to be able to reflash it.

Epic win!

You can pull the market apk from the rom via 7zip or winzip or whatever, and push it to your /system/app/ folder

ok, download app seems ideal
I signed onto android market on my pc and tried to download it and it kept saying the app is not compatible. I just realized it is an app for an android tablet. I need to figure out where to find the regular android market for a phone. I did a search on market.android.com and it keeps finding the tablet version.

Did they take out game gripper?
I just got the new psx4droid and was gnnause gamegripper which I thought I had but its not there so I guess I neverdownloaded it, but when I go to the market its not there either
Could it be cuz of the xperia play? I thought it was gonna usher in a nw age of gaming for android but its starting to look like its doing the opposite..

Gamegripper as in the ROM finder app? I have it installed on my phone but you're right, it's no longer on the market. As for the n64 emulator, it was removed due to the dev taking it down to re-release it at a later time (after most bug fixes) due to negative feedback.
It does appear that Google is removing these apps due to piracy of ROMs, though.
EDIT: Spelt 'but" wrong. haha

Kind of hints that Play Station Suite is on the horizon.
According to this thread - http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/com..._to_rom_gripper_has_google_remotely/?sort=hot
The gripper was removed due to the ROM database being offline.
I actually know how to get some of those pulled apps...I can't say the site though because of the apps are warez.
you dont need an app to get roms..

Good idea. My opinion is definitely invest in root explorer. It lets you navigate directly to the data/app folder and you can copy+paste the apk to your SD. Plus it has a remount rw/ro button that beats the hell out of using terminal emulator to do it.

Crash you do realize that, the 3.2 market is a leak of the market for ICS? secondly I've been running it for about 2.5 weeks maybe a little less. I install run fix_permissions from terminal emulator and fix them thru root explorer and still get the error when I try to purchase an app. I think some phones or roms just don't work well with it. IMHO Thanks for posting the Gapps zip!

Which ROM are you on? maybe you can clear caches and give it another shot ......
Just a thought... are you using go launcher? They recently fixed a problem where icons were not showing up for installed apps. My thinking here is its already installed but you just can't see it.
If this its the case, install the update for go launcher. goto settings and manage apps and uninstall the program you're wanting. then go back to the market and get it again and it wont hide from you anymore.
I'm probably a mile off base, so onto the next suggestion if I am.
If you can read this it was sent using my GT-P7510.
I'm running stock OS. No changes. I am running ADW though. I went and cleared cache and removed updates for the Market. Odd....it says I purchased it even on the internet linked site so that leads me to believe it's my profile with Google.
Funny enough...I don't mind trying apps, but if I want it, I'll buy it. I wanted this app and was trying to pay for it and Puff the Magic Dragon showed up!! No app for you, come back...one year!
Try closing ADW and see if it shows up in the stock app drawer.
Did you remove your credit/debit card off your google wallet/checkout account? I did that once and had the same problem. Once i added and verified my mastercard, i was able to download again.
same problem here, (even) the (web) market thinks I've already bought the app and I can't buy it anymore
Im havimg the same problem. I cant purchase swiftkey, says on the apps page i purchased it, but when i click install it says i didnt purchase the app.

I'm actually having the same issue, but it's with downloading ADWLauncher EX itself. The market website thinks I've purchased it, but I haven't. I sideloaded ADW first, to see how well it works. Deleted it, tried to purchase it, not working. Cleared cache, uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted, everything. It has to be an issue with the market itself. So, yeah. Just a small confirmation.

Rooted using CM7 GoLauncer, why won't Google Market to show in apps?

I rooted and I'm using the HellFire CM7 build. Installed the market app because the rom doesn't include it. I can't figure out how to get it to show in the app drawer for whatever reason. I also tried to use KFU to install gapps and that didn't work either.

I'm fairly new to the Kindle Fire section of XDA, but I couldn't agreed more. There are tons of these that belong in the Q&A thread or in the thread for the rom. Where is the moderation in this section?
With the HellFire ROM I couldn't find the vender.apk he references in the OP. In the end I did what was suggested above. Talk was the only Google related app that was showing up in app drawer. So I launched that and it asked for my Google credentials. This took me to what looked like Google Play and gave me the option to install a bunch of google apps. That pretty much solved it. The only other peculiar thing is when I click "My Apps" in Google Play it only shows like 5 app under "Not Installed" even though I have a bunch of paid for apps associated with my Google account that I've installed on phones.
