Hey guys, I havent been on here for a while so this is going to be my first thread since 2009.
I was playing around with a Huawei S7 and I noticed a file under sys>cap_touchscreen that looked kind of suspicious.
I opened it using a txt editor and it had a value of 0.
I tried changing the value myself but it does not save so I cant be sure if this would do anything.
Just wanted to throw it out there for anyone who has a rooted S7 to try to change the value to 1 and see if that will enable capacitive.

Hey im new to the scene i downloaded the droid overclock for my X10 mini pro and i changed the LCD Density to 190 now the problem is that i cant change it back to 120 (stock) i cant use the apps either because when i comes up to click on okay i cant see it because its too big.
Now is there anyway i can change the LCD Value on the phone manually ( system folder or something) i was thinking of changing the app value and reinstalling it.
another idea is there a way to access local/system/build.prop file and edit it in there, i was poking around the driod overclock files and found the path to the lcd density on the phone
Greetings I know many are aware that sometimes when going through the update process the surround sometimes gets stuck with the 16bit banding issue.
Well like many people I went hunting for an answer. There is of course a thread filled with lots of people saying this trick worked or didn't work, etc. However something unique for the surround that solves the problem is instead of changing the value to 32 (which will still show banding) change the value to 24 instead. This completely fixes the banding issue (at least until next update.)
You will need to be unlocked and have the ability to use a registry editor

One thing I would like is if someone who has a Surround could post the exact default values from a 7004 version. I really don't want to reflash mine just to find out and the 24/24/24 works perfectly, removes the banding, and I have noticed no red screen or slow down issue.
Hey guys, I know the popular thing to do is unbranding, but I installed a stock rom from Spain that comes with some Vodafone stuff like 360 updates. Thing is, even though I'm a Vodafone customer in Portugal, it doesn't work. It says it can't display the services.
I tried editing the build.prop to match a branded Vodafone phone, like the Galaxy Ace, but the phone just goes crazy and the screen starts flashing white. Any ideas? Please help, I've searched everywhere.
EDIT: If anyone's interested, I managed to tweak build.prop a bit, but it's tricky. I used ES file explorer, but had to change the permissions back to default every time I edited the file. Not everything can be changed, some things make the screen blink white. I managed to install appselect and get it working, not 360 updates, though.
yeah, the white flashing screen will show up if you changed the modem from "GT-I5800" or "GT-I5801" to something else....:\

i have my rooted verizon note 4 (sm-910v) i rooted it my phone with dr.keaton rom for the s7edge and its awesome everything works great
i seen that the always on display does not work like everyone said so i tried my self to make it work and like other people are saying you can see it in settings but cant see it on the shut off screen .......
well i can i went to the internet and typed in samsung aod apk and downloaded 1.7.3.4 and when in google play and downloaded fx files explorer with the root add on for it then went into sysyem root found priv app the aodservice and deleted everything that was in folder and copied my new aod in then added a second copy of it as well i named one AODService.apk and named the second one AODService.apk.bak and set both security permissions to 644
and taa daa it works you can go to settings turn it on open it up change clocks etc and even see it on the lock screen know but the problem is that its very dim hard to see it
anyone in here with more knowledge then me to go into the xml settings or what ever you call it to change the brightness setting or what ever so you can actually see it better on the lock screen
lots of people could not even get it to the lock screen or even get it to turn on i figured that all out just need someone with more knowledge now to fix the brightness of it and we will all have working aod

Just to sum the situation up:
These bugs are known. Yes, with proper apk's you can get it to show up. With an XPosecd module you can change the brightness, but in the end it breaks autobrightnes completely. After AOD activates, your phone won't change brightness anymore.
All in all, you could get it to work somehow, but if you plan to use your display in varying brightnesses you won't be happy. I've invested several days worth of research. I just accepted the fact, that samys AOD won't work on our device right now.

Can you point me at the xposed modules that you're talking about?
I'm always using my n910f at maximum brightness so for me is not a probleem to break autobrightness.

So, i have a G6 with a lot of "mods" like kernel, root, etc...
one thing i still miss is the editing of thermal-engine-8996.conf like i used to do with other phones, messing a little to put the phone at my taste and limit some frequency's to save battery life.
BUT, this phone is different since my V10 can open the file and i can see the content of it with G6 the file seems to be encrypted because when i open it there's some characters random all across the file i cannot understand nothing.
i try open it with some apps like Ultra Editor, Notepad++ but NONE works so, im here to ask if some developer or programer or so can give me a tip to kind of open this file as they should be without that messing characters??!
