[Q] Questions about - [ROM][14.AUG.2011] Ideos S7 Froyo Stable v1.2 - Ideos S7 General

Hello dear developers of [ROM][14.AUG.2011] Ideos S7 Froyo Stable v1.2 - (Android 2.2.2)
2 days ago i just buy new Huawei S7 and i am reading forum more than 4hours.
My device:
Huawei S7 - Clasic NOT SLIM
Firmware version : 2.2.1
S7V100R001C68B111(Brazil Commex)
Lot of questions was answered but i still have some to ask:
1) Can i install this firmware on my device : [ROM][14.AUG.2011] Ideos S7 Froyo Stable v1.2 ???
2) Can i install any of original firmware`s :
S7V100R001C13B115 (Australian Telstra) thanks to goodoane
S7V100R001C57B113(Norway Telenor)
S7V100R001C68B111(Brazil Commex)
S7V100R001C63B110(Sweden Expert)
(or i have to install always some version as i have now) ?
3) I find out for make more internal storage i need to make one 1Gb ext3 partition on my internal storage.
Question about it is: Do i have to do it before i flash my device with new firmware or i have to do it after successful flash ?
one more Question regarding this is: What is better make ext3 on internal storage or in my 4Gb Micro SD Card?
Thanks to all developer`s doing our life better !!!!! REALY BIG THX !!!!!

Nobody skilled enough to answer ?

What i need to do with my new tables is make it somehow possible to expand internal memory because i have free 30MB and i cant install all stuff i want
I figure out i need to flash new ROM in my TABLET to fix this big android issue. (sorry for dam question , but i am very new in Android)
So is this right way how to make ROM working on very new TABLET with original ROM ? :
1) Wipe/Data Factory Reset
2) at FIRST i have to install (flash) : CWM-Install-Script-tri_zet.zip ?
3) After that i have to connect Tablet to my WIN_XP and with partition software resize my EXTERNAL (MICRO SD CARD 4GB) to 3GB FAT32 partition and one 1Gb ext2 partition?
4) To resized FAT32 partition copy your ROM file : Ideos_S7_Froyo-v1.3-EXT4-SA.zip
5) Than restart TABLET and hold volume DOWN button and jump in Clockwork xauBeta recovery which i flash in first step ?
6) Than flash my TABLET with your ROM : Ideos_S7_Froyo-v1.3-EXT4-SA.zip
7) After flash i have to do 2 restart of TABLET for working MARKET and so on ... ???
8) One more Question regarding this is: What is better make ext3 on internal storage or in my 4Gb Micro SD Card?
9) Do you know about any issue with your ROM and S7 - 105 TABLET version?
IS THIS FLASHING TUTORIAL CORRECT????
... after this flash i will never need to install AP2SD and move all instaled APPs on SD CARD? That ROM will do this automatically?
no more install AP2SD or MOVE2SD and use default installation on SD CARD?
Thanks for all your HELP i really appreciate it.

1) yes
2) i don't know.... but go for option 1
3) connect your device and mount you internal sdcard
then make a fat 32 primary partition (leave 1gb open)
then make the rest (1gb) ext4 partition PRIMARY
---------- Post added at 09:58 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:22 AM ----------
I wasn't finished yet and presed enter lol
1) yes
2) i don't know.... but go for option 1
3) a) first turn on your device and go to settings/applications/development/usb developmentmode
b) install drivers by running the upgrade.cmd file http://adf.ly/2Lmy8 ("Ideos S7 Froyo 1.3 Upgrade tools")
c) install clockworkmod recovery http://www.multiupload.com/6YNZ1GXHV1
d) connect your device and mount you internal sdcard
e) then make a fat 32 primary partition (for instance 7gb and leave 1gb open (8gb card)) (use EASEUS Partition Master 9.1.0 Home Edition on your pc)
f) then make the rest (1gb) ext4 partition PRIMARY (use EASEUS Partition Master 9.1.0 Home Edition on your pc)
g) unmount your sdcard and mount it again
h) now you have 7gb internal sdcard storage left
i) put the "Ideos_S7_Froyo-v1.3-EXT4-SA.zip" from the (http://adf.ly/2Lmy8 ("Ideos S7 Froyo 1.3 Upgrade tools")) folder into the internal sdcard
k) now turn off your device and hold the call+menu butten and press the power button at the same time. now you are in clockworkmod recovery.
l) go to "install zip from sdcard"/"choos zip from sdcard" and make shure the "ideos_S&_froyo-v1.3-ext4-SA.zip" is inside. don't run it but press two times the back button (yet) if the file is not there or you can not open the sdcard ... restart the device and go back to "d" or "i"
m) now follow the "README FIRST!!!.txt" file in the "Ideos S7 Froyo 1.3 Upgrade tools" folder. start at "-Wipe Data/Factory Reset"

[Q] [HELP] Internal sd-card problem

Hey ppl
I just got my huawei ideos s7 a week ago and i already ruined it >.<
I wanted to flash FroyoFusion-R2 becuz it has a good apps2sd function
But i think i partioned the sd card wrong and now i cant open it anymore in windows
or with the huawei itself. Internal memory: Unavailable .
Plz HELP
BTW
I partioned it as following:
Ext2 Primary 4gb
Fat32 Logical 4 gb
must recover eclair... then start over. suggest you avoid that rom and use the data2ext4 tri-zet.
If you have clockwork mod install format internal sd and reboot. If it does not work downgrade to 2.1
I had a similar prob but i format the sd using clockwork mod and its ok now
Sent from my IDEOS S7 using XDA App
Hello
i have have the same problem.
my Huawei s7 105
i update to 2.2 and make 2 partition fat32 + ext2
but the patition not mountet.
I need ecliar vor the 105
you must
1. make 2nd partition ext2 PRIMARY not logical !!
2. you must EJECT BOTH partitions FAT32 and EXT2 before you turn off usb mode (umount in osx)
3. power off afterwards.
if you lose your internal SD - you must go back to eclair 2.1-u1 and start over. it will format back to full 8gb.
Keep in mind you may want to keep about 1gb for FAT32 and 6GB for EXT2.
The tri-zet uses EXT4!! do not confuse this !! ext2 far inferior to EXT4 but not compatible at all.
Generic Apps2SD i think uses fat32 but we don't see that implementation on any custom rom here.
I've got the same problem.
where can I find "eclair 2.1-u1"
I tried STOCK ROM FOR HUAWEI IDEOS S7 TABLET on this thread
p=12450817"]http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12450817[/URL]"
After I installed this .. my screen didn't work anymore. I updated it with the 2.2.2 indonesia rom but still no 8gb internal storage.
please can someone help me
solved!!!!
root your device trough adb with superoneclickv1.7
run trough adb or terminal "dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/mmcblk0" nothing will happen but let it run for 3 min
restart your device format and mount your device
That is essentially what the eclair rom does before you had the indo 2.2.2 - you had eclair for the guy asking up in the thread. if its not 2.2 it's eclair (2.1)
no .... "you must go back to eclair 2.1-u1 and start over. it will format back to full 8gb." won't work. root and run the script is the solution no matter what kind of rom you have. going back to the stock rom won't work. try it
it's working !!!!! thank you very much !!

[Q] HD2 & App2SD

Hello everyone,
I've an issue and I am looking for your advise & support. I've bought HTC HD2 512 EU with the following NAND specification:
Android ver: 2.2.1
Baseband ver: 15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14
Kernel ver: 2.6.32.15-saint.J_Rev.005-g009fade-dirty [email protected] #8
Build no: Desire HD Rev.10.XU
Software no: 1.72.405.3
aMAGLDR V1.13
The Issue: I wanted to install App2SD to be able to install apps in SD Card.. I followed this thread => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=926015 & followed Darktremor instructions here.. However, When I entered the MAGLDR menu /AD Recovery I found no CWM recovery mode "no boot source".. So what should I do next as Darktremor approach assumed that there is a CWM recovery mode to be able to format, partition and flash the App2SD, while I haven't!.. What should I do to make it work?
Thank you,
unzip attached file.put the folder you get to your sd card.in mgldr menu: services-boot settings-ad sd dir-find the folder and choose it. now you'll go to mgldr menu automatically now take the second choice:ad sd. so you'll go to ad recovery.(by this method you have to do all these steps each time in order to go ad recovery.so it is recommended to flash a recovery using daf and usb flasher.but this will erase your installed android rom.) and in ad recovery menu backup your current rom.because darktremors method doesn't go well with som roms.and know that it leads 2 extra reboots after you flash it.
mutil, thanks for the reply. I did as you mentioned.. got into the CWM successfully but failed to partition the SD correctly. After it said=> "Done..! partition SD successfully!" I got the screen full of errors like=>
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Falid to find "cache" partition to mount at "/cache".
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't find misc
P.S: I choose partition size of 1024mb & swap of 256mb..
Update: I ignored those errors & installed the App2SD & rebooted but didn't notice any change! The available space on the internal storage still 201mb!.. SD card now reads 14gb, previously 15gb..
download a2sdgui from market. move dalvik cache to sd.this gives you some more space.i think a2sd will work for applications you install from now on.therefore i install it just after i installed a new rom.btw 256mb swap is high. you must know that it may harm your sd (but i also use 128mb swap in spite of its risk)

Done!..
Thank you mutil...
About the swap, do you suggest me to redo the whole process again and limit the swap to maybe 128mb?.. I remember that swap partition is always double the mem size..
What is the max recommended ext partition size for the App2SD? because on the CWM you can make the partition up to 2048mb..
no just for that, it doesn't worth to redo everything.next time when you change rom you arrange it.i dont have much knowledge but the swap is said to harm sd-card.but as my experience it also improves speed.
Ext
If u want to install apps on EXT partition don't use App2SD,or A2ext use Data2ext.
Similar to a2ext, where data/app were stored inside your ext partition of the SD card, data2ext stores the whole /data inside your ext partition.
That means your internal storage will barely be used, and because nowadays some SD cards runs faster than your internal memory.
Instructions:
*This is a CyannogenMod version! Not tested on DHD Roms!
1.Make a Ext3 Partition via CWR
2. Flash data2ext_for_CM via CWR (attached) (DON'T FLASH IT ON THE FIRST BOOT OF ANY ROM!)
3. Go to your terminal emulator/adb shell to type data2ext --enable
4. Reboot
5. Go check your Ext storage via Titanium Backup(Your internal storage [220 mb~] will not be increased you must check the ext space from the Overview page of your Titanium Backup [SD card(a2sd):....mb(...mb free)])!

HD2 with ICS full functional, with FM Radio and Link2SD [Suggestion]

This is a fast guide on how to make your HTC HD2 working with ICS on a full functioning ROM and solving the internal storage problem.
I assume that you already have rooted your device. If not, see the official guide. You have to have a working MAGLDR1.13 and ClockWorkMod Recovery. Then you can proceed to the following.
First: Backup your SD Card , Phone and contacts before start. The following procedures wipe everything !!
Boot into recovery by holding power key after turn off. Format your SD card with MAGLDR1.13 utility.
Give 512mb ext3/4 partition or more (need this for LINK2SD later) and 128mb cache or more.
Go to advanced and mount the formatted SD Card to pc, and transfer the following ROM on it.
[1.Sep.2012] NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.4-CM9-HWA V2.7 (Kernel: tytung_HWA_r3.4)
here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1434860
Install ROM by choosing install zip from SD card. Add your google account and run the first time wizard. e.t.c....
This Rom is full functional ICS and for my opinion is running better than Gingerbread 2.3.5 on the HD2 and also is running even better than Official Windows Mobile 6.5. Is the operating system that this device deserves to have !! With SPIRIT UL you also have a working FM Radio. Audio method in settings qsd8250, Bluetooth must be on before launching SPIRIT UL. Battery Life is quite good, depends on usage.
Before adding any other applications or games from the play store, you have to get FIRST OF ALL LINK2SD and set it to automatically link newly installed applications to SD card (from settings in LINK2SD application). Be sure the first time you start LINK2SD you successfully load the ext3/4 partition. Link2SD will guide you on first run. Also you can link any existing applications to SD Card (by clicking create link) so you can save some space. Advantages of LINK2SD is that the ext3/4 partition is loaded by the device and when you plug the device on a usb port on a pc and mount the SD Card, it will not mount the ext3/4 partition, so your applications are still available and the system can still use those, and of course you saving space from internal storage. The only bad thing is that you taking space from your SD Card.
Now you have a full functioning ICS Rom on your beloved HD2.

correction for clarity,
"In magldr choose option 8-ad recovery,, this will load cwm
Once cwm starts choose advanced-format SD"
Give 512mb ext3/4 partition or more (need this for LINK2SD later) and 128mb cache or more

I think you will need to create an Ext4 partition of at least 1Gb on your Fat32 partition, either with minitool partition wizard or use Extended TWRP as your recovery.
my tut is too old from times when android run from FAT32 sdcard...
for nand version procedure is different and i not make tut for that
i sold my HD2 two years ago and since then i cant test this options....
THIS IS ONLY FROM MY MEMORY (maybe i write something wrong or forgot some steps)
for NAND ROM installation you need 4EXTRecovery for SDcard... not sure for complete procedure but first make WP7 partition (look my old tut) and rest left for android...
put 4EXTRecovery on SDcard (for example in A folder)
boot to magldr
10.Services, 1.BootSettings, 3.AD SD Dir, select "A"
10.Services, 1.BootSettings, 1.Boot source, 1. Android from SD
2.Boot AD SD
wait to load 4EXTRecovery
advanced - Partition SD card
select minimum 512 mb, this is EXT4 partition for system, rest of memory if you want is FAT32
2nd sd-ext skip
swap skip
Yes - I'm sure
EXT4
wait format to complete
red button to back to main menu when format complete...
now is ready to install ROM...
togle usb storage (in 4EXTRecovery)
copy ROM in zip file to SDcard
Next, Next, Agree, Next - Install on NativeSD/semi NativSD - Format (yes)
RMNET Connection
select options you want, after restart when boot to magldr just select which system you want boot
10.Services, 1.BootSettings,
thanks for this....dual boot hd2 finaly succeded
ur video tut is still useful....thanks alot

[SOLVED] Link2SD and CWM problem

Hi!
I've setup my LG e400 many many times so i wanna ask for help here.
I have CWM from that tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2405279
And Link2SD app
SD Card:
1. Partition: Not primary, FAT32
2. Partition: Primary, EXT2
How to correct format SD Card or install CWM to work?
E. G I have "Cant mount /sdsard/" error.
Or i cant antry to my CWM with Vol + + Home + Power combo.
Halp!
Regards!
I fix that, How?
So, if you have problem to enter recovery via Vol Up + Home + Power use installed Link2SD
- Open drawer from left side
- Use last option in menu "Reboot" (notice me cus i translate that from my lang)
- Use reboot to recovery option
- Ta da! You're in recovery.
What about partitions?
I have 3 partitions now:
- First (Primmary): 1024MB FAT - For CWM Backups
- Second (Primmary) 1024MB EXT2 - For Link2SD app
- Third (Primmary) rest MB FAT32 - For normal SD Card use
Pros
- Working all options in CWM
- Secure backups (not accessable vie Phone & USB, you must use card adapter to read first FAT partition)
Cons
- Access to CWM only by Link2SD (thats a bug and i dont know why)
