Quiet speaker on CM7 - Galaxy S I9000 General

Ever since installing the first CM7 built at the beginning of the year my phones external speaker has been substantially quieter when compared to Samsung Rom's. I have turned off the voodoo sound option to tune speaker for music, which makes it only slightly louder. On Samsung rom I was able to always hear my phone ring and incoming notifications, lately I have been missing a lot because the external speaker volume is just too low. Anyone have any solutions to increase the maximum volume of the phone speaker? Thx

Aha, I thought I was getting deafer from nightly to nightly, but also noticed the lower volume. Think that on #96, it was still like stock.

dont you think you would get more help on cm forum ?

which versions are you talking about.
I'm running #102 and do not notice anything like it.

Go to DSP manager->phone speaker->enable equalizer. Then select custom preset and increase the last 3 bars to around +5. Reduce the last one if u getting too much treble

Anyone feels that speaker is too weak and cant hear people's talking in the phone calling? I have to use handfree when doing calls. Just so annoying!

Please download AnEQ equaliser from market. It enable you to boost +15DB of output to your speaker. Used that. Clear sound but touch bass boost will distort the speaker.

Mine is loud enough. Haven't changed anything.

Thanks for introducing the app to me. I really donno if that's hardware problem or not. Or maybe just the phone is too big and I don't get used to it. I used 3.5" monitor mobile before. And now the phone is bigger, when do phone calls, my holding must have to be different. The speakerpohone always cant reach my ear hole. LOL!
Works beautifully. There is another app called "Volume+" which provides more options for Headsets and Bluetooth too. It too works good but "AnEQ equaliser" is bit louder.

Volume is WAY too...

Quiet :-( on some roms, I can't hardly hear anything with the volume all the way up and holding it to my ear, other roms are better, but still not as loud as it used to be before I diverted from stock. I've tried to flash my stock backup and it was loud as ever until I hit the volume controls, then it got half as loud, but still at max volume.
I have tried volume+, it didn't do jack but distort everything, and my luck seems a tad better on sense roms (which is not a problem at all, I <3 me some sense).
Is there anything in the build.prop that I can tweak to get that burst of loud at the first play on a new rom? Or is it just....well, my luck, to say the least that I have a **** speaker?

If your talking about an AOKP ROM there was a problem with their build 39... Build 40 fixes those audio problems based on their changelog
if your talking about a volume problem based on a port from the desire family they usee low audio files than we do.

Even on your rom that was supposed to be wake the neighbors loud :-( the ones that are desire based aren't too bad, but even the sensation ports were quiet. I'm beginning to wonder if its my phone :-(

Sounds like it is your phone. As a last resort you could try flashing a PD15IMG. If it doesn't work on stock, it's not going to work.

I have an issue with a belkin bluetooth car receiver that I'm impossible to change the call volume. Media volume works great. I don't know if it's an incompatibility with android or the device is defective. Tried with 2 other android smartphones (motorola) and had the same issue. They were running cm7. Was thinking it was a driver issue and tried changing to another brand.
But only with an iphone 3g I could control volume. All android smartphone I get a very very loud volume and it's impossible to use.

Is there any code that's shared between phones, like inside phone.apk. Maybe there's a solution?

[Q] Adapt Sound?

Has anyone used this?
I started it up the other night, plugged in my headphones and went through the steps.
Next thing I know, my stock Music app won't produce any sound through any sort of output. I can still get sound from Pandora and other things.
I finally realized that I had to turn off Adapt Sound.
I'll be honest, I'm not even sure what it is or what it does.
Not everyone hears the same as everyone else one ear could hear differently than the ear on the opposite side of said persons head and "adapt sound" is the attempt to solve this issue. I however flashed a kernel with beats support then the beats mod and I take care of the settings that way for awesome sound.

That is exactly what im looking for. Thought i could "tweak" the system sound by running the adapt sound and lying to it telling the phone that i didnt hear the super high beeps, with the hopes it would turn those frequencies up. But that did not go as planned, Which kernel did you flash? In the meantime I'm reading through all the dif kernels.

Check out the ViPER4Android sound mod, simple installation and nothing to do through recovery. It has options to increased max volume level for headphones, speaker, and bluetooth. And not only that, there are dozens and dozens of other options to tweak the sound of your device. Plus in the thread there are a bunch of prepare sound profiles that tell you what to set all the settings to for various listening purposes!

[Q] Increasing louc speaker volume?

Hi,
Nexus 4's loud speaker volume isn't so high compared to other phones, as you guys already know. I know that there are apps that can increase the volume. But how far can i push it? I don't want to ruin my speaker. And yes, there is a mod that increases the volume of the nexus 4 , but unfortunately it doesn't work on xylon rom, which i'm using.
Thanks

I don't see any reason to push the speaker. The quality of the sound isn't normally great. By increasing the volume, quality will decrease even further.
Try increasing the volume with about 10%. That shouldn't damage anything.
I don't care about sound quality really, i just want to hear the song lol. And i dont know if 10% makes it better.

Well, more than that could blow up the speaker.

[Q] Nexus 4 low headphones volume, any fix?

Guys, I had issues with the speaker volume, but they somehow fixed themselves. Yesterday I tried to listen to some music and my headphones were barely audible outdoors at full volume. I'm quite sure the headphones are fine, as they are rather loud when plugged into my wife's iPhone, but with Nexus 4 I get may be 1/3rd of their usual volume at 100% slider setting.
I tried to search on the forum and Google it, but could find a guide to fix this issue. Has anyone encountered and successfully fixed low 3.5mm jack volume?
I would appreciate your suggestions! Thanks!
Are you rooted?
If yes you can try an audio mod like xLouder or Viper4Android.
If not you can use poweramp to boost everything although it will probably sound like ****.

Thanks for your response!
I'm not rooted, running fully stock. I don't really need to boost *everything*, just the headphone output, it's the only thing that has low volume.
