AVRCP 1.4 in CM7 B3!!! - Atrix 4G General

Just a heads up for anyone waiting for android avrcp support. Just noticed that its working in the lastest cm7 beta. You have to use the stock music player app, not working with poweramp right now.

Cool, for those who don't know, and excerpt from Wikipedia explains pretty well.
Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP)
This profile is designed to provide a standard interface to control TVs, Hi-fi equipment, etc. to allow a single remote control (or other device) to control all of the A/V equipment to which a user has access. It may be used in concert with A2DP or VDP.
It has the possibility for vendor-dependent extensions.
AVRCP has several versions with significantly increasing functionality:
1.0—Basic remote control commands (play/pause/stop, etc.)
1.3—all of 1.0 plus metadata and media-player state support
The status of the music source (playing, stopped, etc.)
Metadata information on the track itself (artist, track name, etc.).
1.4—all of 1.0, 1.3, plus media browsing capabilities for multiple media players
Browsing and manipulation of multiple players
Browsing of media metadata per media player, including a "Now Playing" list
Basic search capabilities

It also works with screen sleeping. Vol up and down. Long press changes songs.

I did notice that my Phone Bluetooth is now acting up if I have it enabled with audio. Basically the phone won't connect the the audio will play.

Issue came right back. Played fine and phone worked on the ride home. Got into my car later...phone and media connected, was playing and then phone disconnected. When I went to options on the deivice, phone was unchecked. I took a logcat and dmesg. Will post later.

Anyone have this working? Can you check if your artist/song/album information is being cut off by the last character. So if the artist is "David Guetta", I see "David Guett"....or if title is "Hello" I see "Hell". Any ideas? Bug?

Any other players work besides stock?

Not working for me. Anyone can explain how you got it working?

Tha atrix is wonderful isn't it!

I just installed the latest nightly build (the one from 22 of January) on my Atrix and the only thing I can see with my hands-free phone system in my car (which is capable of AVRCP 1.4 according to the technical data) is the metadata (song title, artist...), but this:
..media browsing capabilities for multiple media players Browsing and manipulation of multiple player

is not possible. So it seems to me, that it's not version 1.4 that has been implemented but 1.3.......or has it been removed sometime between? Or do I have to install another music player?

[Q] Online radio via mms site. How?

I'm trying to listen to an online radio station. The address is
mms://ppr.comsat.co.th/Live_Radio
My problem is that the Legend interprets this as an MMS message.
Can anyone assist?
If you use http:// instead of mms:// , you'll get an .asf-File. This one plays fine on my laptop, but the legend seems not to know the format. Tried internal player, MixZing and XiiaLive.
I've no problem listening from my laptop it's just on the phone. I downloaded Cherry Rplayer which has loads of stations but not the one I want. Thanks anyway.
Try XiiaLive, you can add URL's, should work.

[Q] Why there are lags during playing mp3

I have tested 3 different roms, but all of them have a problem: when my vibrant plays some of mp3 files, there are lags during playing. It is just like a sudden pause with wired sounds during the mp3 is playing, but only some of the mp3 files have this problem, others are normally played. I have posted this on other forum and many people says they have the same problem with me.
Have anyone know how to solve this problem?
I'm having that to since I switched to 2.2 roms. I've only been using obsidian so I can't speak from experience using them but I get random pauses while listening to music. The song is still playing but there's no sound for a few seconds.
You're not alone... lol

I have tested eugene's unofficial rom, obsidian, the new Jk6, but all of them have this kind of problem, I found a few threads discussing this problem, I tried deleting wigets on screen and killing apps, but don't work................maybe this is a feature of 2.2 ?
I have not noticed this? I'll try and play MP3's all during lunch.... anything I need to do to try and recreate, or just play a few songs?
This problem has often been attributed to the stock music player. Discontinue it's use and see if the problem continues. There are a plethora of suitable media player replacements in the Market (free & paid). Search these forums if you'd prefer some suggestions as they're plentiful.
I've noticed that jk6 is better in this regard. It's not widgets; in the past it's been most noticeable when changing connectivity, I.e. turning on wifi.

I have tried a third party media player, but the same result happened. Maybe I should try more third party media player?

Sorry,I don't quite understand what is the stock one?
Try using poweramp music player. It's in the app market. It's a paid app, but you can try it for free for about a week or two before the trial runs out.

Whenever someone refers to the word stock that means factory. For example: stock rims on a car means the rims that came with the car from the factory/dealer. Stock music player means the music player that the phone came with out of the box. No 3rd party app

gingerbread music player auto shuffling?!?!?!

Anyone else got this issue, the new stock music player, whether I'm using onscreen buttons or BT remote, is automatically shuffling?
i.e. I press skip and it shuffle skips. I can't seem to turn it off. If I hit the shuffle onscreen button it physically messes up the playlist album order.

Use PlayerPro? or download the new Google Music app from the Market.
I'd recommend songbird.

Andromadus Beta 4 - Bluetooth Streaming "Fix"

I know afew people (myself included) have been suffering issues with bluetooth streaming on andromadus beta 4. For whatever reason bluetooth will connect and the player will start to play but no sound is transmitted no matter what the volume is set at.
I have done a little messing about in the terminal emulator and have discovered a "fix" that works for me.
First disable the bundled Apollo player using the following commands;
su
pm disable com.andrew.apollo
Next I took a copy of the Music.apk from BETA 3 and copied it to the download folder on my sdcard. I have attached the apk.
Then I went back into terminal and executed the following commands;
su
cd /sdcard/download
pm install Music.apk
You should hopefully, see a success message. (I expect you could probably us ES File Manager or similar to install.)
Thats it! After doing this the bluetooth streaming was reinstated for me.
Hopefully someone else may find this information useful. I would stick it on the Andromadus BETA 4 thread but can't because I am n00b.
Process also works on Beta 5 and Mimicry.

Is this an Apollo issue? You guys should try Google Play Music which is installable through Aroma when you flash the ROM. Much more stable than the old Music app.

Yeah, I tried that, same issue. It works fine on standard bluetooth headphones (Apollo included) but not in my car. I think the car effectively has 2 streams whereas the headphones only have 1. But then again, I don't know enough about Bluetooth to know whether that make sense.

I have tried the Google Play app and it does stream music to my car, however no track information is shown, which is important to me.
The stock music player is the only player I've tried that sends this info via bluetooth; so I guess this must be a fairly niche use case?
Out of interest, which car stereo do you have? Mine is a factory fitted Toyota system.

I use PowerAMP for my music. In the equalizer/tone settings, there is a MusicFX button - press-n-hold will open the phones 'global' built-in audio effects.
I'd image you could also use something like Nova Launcher with adding an action/app shortcut from the widget drawer and selecting the AudioFX app/settings.
