Swapping x10 with LG optimus 2x - XPERIA X10 General

I am getting an offer to exchange my 1 year old x10 with LG optimus 2x.IS it a good deal.Does LG deliever good service and support.

With no terms and conditions nor extra charges?!

I will even pay him some money to get his/her optimus 2x for my 1 year old x10...
Dual core WOW.
go for it the best deal ever and say him/her that once the deal is done the phones must not be changed again

30-50 dollars(2000 indian rs) more.LG resale value is low in India. The only concern is audio quality man..

Do you know how much it outperforms x10 system-wise?
The only drawback you might think is still imaging.
Speakers are alright on the 2X.

jesus you'd be insane not to

maybe his LG has some defects or some problems.otherwise why he would want this swap?

Maybe he must be a dumbass

I will keep my X10 because of better software support and let my dad buy it instead. The stock rom on O2X is not good(2.2) and there is not much custom rom support as compared to X10.

thinking of buying 2nd X1

im about to buy 2nd X10 which costs about $300, is this a good price?
secondly, my current phone is X1 which using window mobile, how can i transfer all sms from X1 to X10
any reply would be highly appreciated
PS: sorry for my bad English

I have to agree with him,
Why go for X10? just wait a couple of months then go for the Xperia ARC or Play, heck even Xperia Neo will be soon released
sync it to Sony Sync from ur X1 and then Sync back to X10.
I'm using both X1 and X10 )

Especially if he is concerned about price, 300 isnt bad and the arc will be way more upon release.
but arc will cost 600 not 300.big difference for almost same hardware

There's some good news regarding the arc's price. However, it's still above his price range. However, the neo will fit better than the X10 Now, the hardware you're talking about is apparently much different than you expected...

Nothing. He's just saying that the newer models have better hardware specs than the x10...better screen with true multitouch, more optimized CPU, more RAM. It still remains to be seen how responsive they will be though.
I have the same dilemma.
I can not wait for two more months for the Arc or Neo. And their initial price will surely be real high.
Plus, I'm actually having 2nd thoughts if they would really perform as expected.
So I was thinking, if I could get an X10 now for half the price of the Arc, wait a few more months while watching the early birds get their hands on the new devices, then maybe after 6 months, if the Arc or Neo lived up to as promised, that's the time to buy either of the two. If not, I'll settle for my modded X10 or best, get an HTC.
I'd buy X10, if it costs 300 euros Arc will probably cost more than 500. OK, it's only a difference of 200 but you never know when you could need them
As I said in the past, the only good things of Arc (for me) are Gingerbread, Bravia display and HDMI. No double core processor, no more RAM, and no more quality in camera (no matter if it has Exmor technology). Multitouch isn't really needed. So let's say is not a significant improvement (MY opinion).
That's in case you want to save money and have a good phone at the same time. Otherwise, if you wanna spend more and have a high featured phone, HTC models are for you or you could even consider Motorola Atrix, those phones can offer you the same as Arc or even more for a similar price. However, if you still want to get a SE phone, you already know what your options are and what phones will come from this brand.
I also recommend you to read the specs. of each phone very closely.
Good luck in your decision
haha I just bought my first high end android phone, the AWESOME Xperia X10 for $200 on craigslist yesterday!! I LOVE IT!!! The difference between my old Galaxy I7500 and this phone is like the difference between a toyota corolla and a ferrari haha! I just upgraded to 2.1 and rooted and installed xrecovery with the dual touch and the jit! This phone is soooooooo fast!

generally looks more sharp and feels less dull.

Hello My Friend!
I was a happy user of an X10 for over 7 months until i got bored of the poor support from Sony... I know J, Z, Wolf etc... are doing a great job by bringin the X10 up to date but my career gave me the chance of swaping my used X10 for a Brand New SGS and i can tell you is the best deal i've ever made...
Pros------
- 5 Points multitouch
- High Quality Sound, both earpice and speaker.
- Good Custom ROM & Kernel's development (OC up to 1.5 GHZ rock stable)
- The colors of the Screen are awesome
- TV OUT
- Samsung Support to bring Major Updates (Currently Stock ROM Released Android 2.3.4 by Samsung and they release updates every 15 days aprox...)
Cons------
- Camera Quality is not as good as in the X10
- GPS Lock is awful, it not always locks good and with accuracy.
- Battery Life depending on what Custom Rom you use, but it's a litle better than the X10
- The plastic build of the back can get scratched easely.
So i will say go for it, it is a good chance for you to try something new and the phone is really good.

On much android forum, I read that the SGS is more pixely on the screen then the x10. Colours are maybe better but x10 is sharper. If you don't want that, don't get the phone and just get some more money for the SGS2 you like.
@andddy - In the states we have the Samsung Infuse which is basically a big Galaxy S. Why get a older galaxy S when you can get the Galaxy S 1.5!? it has a 1.2ghz processor with an 8megapixel camera and 4.5 inch screen.

See if your country has it, it's probably the same price as an older model SGS.

yeh i think its sgs 2 here in the uk, basically im on a contract dont end for another 6 months so would just like something better to tide me over till then. and hopefully the phone your talking about will be cheaper as iv tried it and its the best phone i have ever seeeeeen

Thinking of Galaxy S!

Thinking of buying one for the remainder of my contract. X10 is kind of boring me!
Now both devices have 2.3.3, Can anyone make a better comparison of the two? Performance battery etc?
Anyone else made the swap from x10 to galaxy or vice versa?
Ask chiefy009 he did recently!
Imo the galaxy s is a much better phone.
The gpu is awesome (was the best when it was put out and still to this day outperforms many modern gpus.. i.e. adreno 205), the screen is incredible, better call quality, true multitouch
Galaxy S or S2 the way to go. between $400 for Galaxy S and $600 for Galaxy S2, I am inclined to go with S2.
I currently own the sluggish X10i...
galaxy s :no flash or led/camera only 5MP/Slightly lower resolation.display is good but i think you might want to go for something more future proof.Galaxy S is just plain old.not much to gain.go for galaxy s2 or HTC sensation or wait for nexus prime.its your choice though.just trying to help
Could maybe get one off ebay for around £150 if im lucky.
It is tempting for the next 9 months, then see whst available in April/may when my upgrade is available!

lots to gain actually... Like I said the gpu still beats adreno 205 and it is a year older
Also WAY more dev support/custom roms than us.
True multitouch? Maybe some people don't care but I do... I like being able to play games and type without the touch points freaking out
For how cheap you can get them for, it is a great phone

Will cost me £113, then the cost of the phone depeding no the tariff i pick etc.
So could be aswell to do that, for the sake of £150 could have SGS 2.
Just knowing my luck, ill get it, and then the SGS 3 will be announced. I know its coming out just not sure when etc?!?

Yeah I was looking at that actually, awesome price. I saw the video of the beta unit and it didn't look that great. I'll wait till it's actually released to pass judgement though, if it's good it'll be my next phone
Just to give you a little bit of advice from a previous owner and I've been through all the stages your considering ..
Had the x10. Bad phone. Sony Ericsson let it down. Don't get me wrong was great at the time but the novelty quickly wore off.
Quickly replaced with the galaxy s1. Brilliant. Lower res camera and screen but I'm sure SE done some sort of pixel combination thing cause the pictures looked slightly blurred at close range (imagine a stretched 4mp picture). The galaxy s1 however gave none of these issues here. Amazin. Everywhere else (literally) the s1 betters it.
Sold it about two months later when I was offered an s2 by orange. Heads up they've kinda shown off other variants (Google Samsung note for one). However, oh. My. God. S2 all the way. Battery amazing, speed even better and the camera and flash are absolutely stunning.
That been said, it's a bit big (wider and taller) than the x10. Result? I've just got myself an x10 mini and sold the s2 cause it's just too big and I'm always scared I'll damage it as a result.
Honest verdict? Second best phone in the world. As much as I hate to admit it, iPhones (purely for their polish and software finishing) are still on the top spot. Get the S2 buddy.
Oh yeah, GPS + the screen on the S2 are AMAZING.

I was mis-informed, it would be £153, plus £59 for the phone.
I have about 8 months left on my contract.
Plan would then be, 600 mins, unlim txts 500mb net, insurance for £42 a month!
Basically if i can sell my X10 for £100.
Ill have paid £113 for a galaxy s2 (£213 -100) And then an extra £7 a month for my contract.
Seem worth it?

[Q]about the LG

Lots of my friends told me LG phones is in poor quality with a short life.
Anyone bought it before?
Any advice?
Cause I'm considering buying one as it looks lovely.
is this a good device?
compared to my S2?
My previous device was LG GT540. Served me for two and half years and works for now, I just changed its capacitive digitizer some day and thats all. They make not so good quality phones, but they worth more than you pay for them.

It's all about what you want to pay for. LG phones are relatively cheap for the functionality they offer, but the build quality might be lacking somewhat.
For the prices at which LG currently offers their Optimus L series, it's certainly good value for money.
If you want more features, such as higher screen resolutions or a faster processor, you might be better of with a different phone, either by LG or a different manufacturer.
A general rule of thumb is: when something is cheap, it usually feels cheap. Having said that, it doesn't always mean it's bad quality.
Compared to the Samsung Galaxy S2, the LG Optimus L series is built a little less well, but it does offer some functionality the S2 doesn't have, like NFC. I'd advise you to take a look at what you expect of a phone, then determine a budget and after that, search for the phone that fits your specifications and budget best.

I have both and even though I sold my 1+1 when I got my G3 I ended up getting another 1+1 just over a week ago and I have been using it since and if push came to shove then I think I would pick the 1+1
I'm not sure what it was that made me sell my other one, maybe it was because of the small amount of yellow tint that it had. Things I prefer about the G3 is the removable battery and sd card. I prefer the look of the 1+1 but the feel of the G3(I don't like the sandstone) The screen is better on the G3 but not by much and if I looked at one today and the other tomorrow I wouldn't notice the difference. Battery life is much better on the 1+1 and it stays a lot cooler doing the same things(I don't play games)
Hope this helps.

Again there are threads set up for this type of talk. I do not understand people who need others to make up there mind for them. Sorry if you feel I am disrespectful but why dont you simply look up the specs and user remarks on the phones and make your own educated decision.
Asking random people in a forum that may not have both phones just does not make sense to me. Again my apologies but do some reading go to the store and get a feel for G3 and see if you can borrow a friends 1=
+. Worse case buy both and sell the one you dont like
When the G3 has full functional ROMs it will be able to compete w/the opo.
In the meantime the g3 is a dog that must be seriously modded to come near the stock performance on the opo.
I own both.

I have 2 G3's and an OPO. I like my OPO way more than my G3's. I'm selling them and keeping my OPO

I'm like you. I get bored of my devices after a couple of months of use. With that being said, I believe each device has it's strength. The OPO will yield you more screen size, battery life, front-facing camera, and speakers. The G3 will give you better resolution, rear-facing camera, and portability. I absolutely love my OPO and with the price of the N6, I'm really glad I chose it. I'm running Mahdi and AK kernel on it and this thing absolutely flies.
With that being said, I'd trade my OPO for a G3. It's in absolute mint condition (tempered glass and case since day one). Like I said, I love new toys.
Opo
One plus one definitely!
