Webtop through HDMI - Atrix 4G General

Im sorry for posting this here but I cant post in the development forum. I did the webtop through hdmi hack. I am on 4.5.91 so I used the files provided in that section. Everything seemed to go through fine....with the exception of the missing dockprovider apk. Now when i connect the atrix to my tv via hdmi webtop option pops up. If i select it on my phone the red m will show up on both my tv and phone screen. Then the webtop interface will display on the tv however on my phone the screen dims and goes back to my regular home page with the google search bar and widgets and such. When i use my finger on the phone sreen it registers as moving the mouse cursor on the tv screen however it doesnt go to that black screen that has the two buttons on the bottom....one of which is to pull up the keyboard. So essentially i have webtop working per se but my phone wont display the black screen that is supposed to display so its not usable. I did press on the screen where the keyboard button is supposed to be and then started tapping in random spots on the screen and it was typing I just cant tell where the letters are since its not showing up on screen. Cany anyone provide any help plz.
EDIT** Using the method in this thread worked for me http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1144119

Im thinking you're going to have to reinstall again, and maybe possibly your rom. The other option is to find exactly what's missing and get the files you need put on your phone.
I voided my warranty.

TvOut on the Archos 101

Picked up an HDMI cable to try tvout. When I tap on the tvout widget the video and sound gets piped out to the tv fine. A dialog pops asking to hit ok or cancel with a 15 second countdown. A mouse pointer appears on the screen when touching the screen but I unable to double click to keep it from resetting. How do I double click when in tvout mode?
Thanks in advance.
Double tap the screen? i assume the screen on the archos works as a large laptop trackpad when video is being output to a tv screen

Tried that. No go. Quick update: Read a post on the Archos Fan forum and people reported the same issue. They basically said you have to do it very carefully. I'll give it another try tonight.
okay please share with us your results , i did encounter a bug whilst testing this on the archos 43 with the latest firmware, i plugged it into my tv via hdmi and it timed out like you said, so i went to system monitor and ended all tasks plugged it in again and my archos displayed the french flag on my screen (no kidding!) at this point i was very confused, i removed the hdmi and plugged it in again and this time it worked and it didnt prompt me to click ok (no timeout) any ideas why my archos decided to do any of these things? not that it matters but i just found it rather odd, thanks oh and sorry for using your thread friend
I was able to get it to work after reading the same post. Your Archos becomes a giant trackpad that is in sync with your TV so you have to touch it in the right place to represent the button on the screen to okay the TV out. It worked for me but the trackpad usage sucks.

Better connect usb mouse and keyboard... still not optimal (clone view would be best), but much better use than guessing where to tap on the archos screen.

[Q] using mouse and touchscreen

My nexus 7 has a small crack making the top inch or so of the screen unresponsive. generally this isn't too much of a problem as i can just rotate the screen however some apps/games require touching both sides of the screen at the same time and obviously this is not possible.
I have tried to use a mouse to click on the unresponsive section while using my fingers on the rest of the screen but the device doesn't register both inputs at the same time so although the mouse allows me to reach the unresponsive section i am unable to do press anywhere else at the same time, this makes anything that requires multi-touch impossible.
Is there a way to do this or am i going to have to get a new tablet?

Broken screen, how can I control it? And what can I use the phone for?

My I dropped my S7 edge and cracked the screen so that half of the screen kind of works but the touch does not work. I can see the lockscreen but if I connect a mouse I see a pointer for a fraction of a section then the screen goes dark. Maybe the lockscreen disables it.
But what are the best way to install some app on it to be able to remotley control it from a computer without using the touch?
If I get control of the phone can I use a chromecast to cast the screen to an external screen or are there any other aletrnatives as I read that there are none MHL support any longer.
And what could you use it for ? maybee some sort of Tasker "server",
crappy game console if you could cast the screen to a chromecast connected tv and add a bluetooth controller.?
What other scenarios could you use it for?
I know this is old but I'm at this part with a Samsung Galaxy s7 I have. The screens on these phones just are to fragile. I didn't even drop it and the back got so hot the glass broke on the back with not dropping it. Then next thing I know it the screen and lcd are all gone crazy on the front. I already Samsung backed up.
I'm wondering if there is a way to use ABD to push a set up so that I can use the phone connected to the chromecast or something where I can see it on my smart TV. So I guess is there an app to upload adb and a certain way to allow the Bluetooth keyboard to connect to take control. This is a really interesting way to find ways to have fun... Just thought it would be worth figuring out so people who are stuck with broken screens can maybe use the android as a backup drive on the computer ext...
I know that anything is possible. I don't really like to say that there is no way because there is a way to do anything if we put are minds to it. . But I don't know enough about it to making calls like that. I hope someone can at least figure out so we can use Bluetooth and wireless to get a working screen on the device in its altered state.

TWRP question

Does anyone know if there is another option in TWRP for activating commands besides the slide bar. Reason I ask is my G2 screen is messed up at the moment. There is a dead space at the bottom of the screen that cuts right thru the slide bar making it impossible to slide the arrow to the right. So I can't do anything in TWRP at the moment. I looked for other options or a way to allow for screen rotation, but didn't see anything. Until my replacement screen comes in, i'm kind of screwed unless someone knows of another way to do things.
Thanks...

Head Unit AC6227L Touch Screen X & Y axis currupt

Hi, I was trying to reconfigure my resistive buttons to switch off the screen when driving at night. I managed to reverse the X&Y axis so I have to press in the opposite point in the screen to interface with the OS. Any advice on how to resolve this as I'm just getting more frustrated trying to navigate the menus to make the changes. Would I be better flashing the MCU firmware or the android firmware?
I had this problem before just go to factory settings and change it back
Thanks for the advice but it's difficult to get into factory settings and then what do I do, reset to default I don't see that option?
There's no default option in factory settings
U should go for touch screen settings and change x&y
If you're being difficult getting the factory settings
U can connect keyboard or mouse
That's what I did when I accidentally changed touch screen resolution...
I too am struggling to set it back to normal touch operation i even found one thing where i could see where each finger registered on the other hemisphere of the screen ... Halp me
Try this and say if it works.
In my Head Unit, thats had fixed the problem.
Marcio Abranches-The Bambi reply. I have a Shinzhen Android head stereo C80, 9.1".
I trolled countless pages looking for the solution of 'X' "Y" about face. I dont know what I did to deserve the terrible screw up. But let me say for all those who have also stumbled while stuffing around in this area that this 5 finger technique works on this model as well.
So positive feedback from me. Thanks mate...terrific.
Now the next problem is, how to make active the radio buttons on the left of screen; Home, Return, Vol+, Vol- etc......
In addition to Marcio's instruction, I have this link that takes you to a Youtube description of fixing the same issue and also goes into how to map the side buttons that also drops off.
