[Q] Wiping the Epic Completly?

Is it possible to wipe the epic completely so that there isn't anything on it at all, like no firmware?

Interesting. DL actually tweeting something about the Fascinate. This looks like DL30, albeit more stable and bloated up. And anyone else notice the darker notification bar?

Yep. From the looks of the pics.. since it has more bloat now... (notice blockbuster appear now) maybe could be the official rom slated for release

In Dl30 you can choose right now in the browser settings, unfortunately no matter what you pick it still uses bing, but the "choose search engine" option is there.

it seems to have a new modem too.

hopefully it takes care of the wonky battery life.

Not slated for release, yet. Just released to the NUT testers.
Give it a few weeks.

Hopefully the testers are REALLY generous in a safe way

FWIW, I think the leak was slightly cleaned up and de-bloated a little bit before release. That's why it didn't have Blockbuster/Bing in it, though I could be wrong.

What's up with our GB release??

So, its been 5 days since our official release of gingerbread but only two roms are using it. Hell I'm even running a Rom built off the shift port. Is it junk or something?? I figured by now, we would have a ton of devs using it. Not trying to raise Hell, just curious. Figured a Rom built off of it would be much more stable and faster than a port from another phone.

I'd guess that its because it is only sense 1.0. MikG and Synergy are both solid and stable, and they have sense 2.1. I think that for most people, going back to sense 1.0 isn't acceptable. Especially when the shift ports are as stable as they are. I'm sure someone will work on the OTA rom though.

Thanks. I wasn't aware it was sense 1.0. That's really disappointing. As for the comments about the release date being the 9th, what makes a difference? Is it gonna change in some drastic way? I doubt it.

You answer yourself the Question, it its becuase the Update is JUNK, only usefull thing is the Kernel and the files Devs can take out, to make Ports better, other than that is the same s#it....

We're loving the recent push of Android 2.3 Gingerbread updates, and the latest group to get a sweet taste of the Gingerbread will be HTC Evo 4G owners.
Sprint announced this morning that it will begin rolling out an over-the-air update on June 6 to deliver the latest software release. As usual, the update will come in batches and users will receive a notification on their smartphones to let them know when the update is ready for download.
However, if you simply can't wait, there will be a manual download option starting June 3, where you can access the update by going to the Menu option on the Evo 4G and then selecting Settings > System updates > HTC software update. You can find more details and instructions on Sprint's Community site.

It's so weird my EVO stays luke warm during charging periods. I always find it odd how some can be totally not hot, and then others will get extremely hot. I would have to say my Pre would always get the hottest on the Touchstone.

Oh, one last thing. Cant Cyanogen use our release to make CM7 more stable?? I think sense roms and AOSP roms both have benefits that I like but its beyond me why Cyanogen cant get GPS to work without having to tickle your sphincter with your big toe everytime you switch roms.

You are welcome to develop yourself if you don't feel that the free service provided around here is fast enough.

This thing is at a dead end huh? Haven't seen a rom outside of almost 2 mos. and only one rom dev is even around...

I wouldn't say it's dead. But there's only so much we can do when we are already running stock + there's no honeycomb source. I think things will pick up once ICS source drops.

I'm relatively sure it fixes the ShiftySonOfA exploit. I can no longer root my device with that method.

id just avoid it like the plague, the odds of a developer bothering to work on an exploit if it does close the hole is slim to none nowadays since most of the devs have moved on to better phones by now

I think if anyone would fix the exploit it would just be to test there skills. and say that they did.

Avoid Sprint Official Updates like the plague . Never take an Update form Sprint till your sure what it is. It's one sure fire way to get yourself into ISH.

I didnt do anything to the ota other than cook it up Stock odex. I could deodex it and post that too so its easier for people to get in there and do mods though. Its all what you all want. But a debloated bone stock optimized rom dont sound halfway bad. Even though you guys have ICS and all that good stuff, some users do like Stock optimized ( no tweaks and minor changes ) so.....................
