Honestly dont know what happened the first couple times I tried it but it didnt work. Then I did a hard restore and got it to work. Took a couple of tries though. I was using SOCv2.1.1 too
Any chance you'd be willing to list the items your uninstalled/froze? Im a little sketch on just uninstalling/freezing stuff without knowing what might happen.

Anything that says AT&T or ATT is safe to uninstall. I did all att stuff, plus you can get rid of the live wallpapers too if you dont use them. I dont use email on my phone, so got rid of the email ones, but beware there are some email ones that are linked to messaging, so you wont be able to txt anymore if uninstalled. If in doubt, dont uninstall.

You guys are genious. I need serious help. First I have a services.exe error everytime I shut off or soft reset. Any one know what to do or if it even matters.
Second all this talk about running things and saving space. I need more memory saving. I don't have a clue what I really need and what I can get rid off to save oh ram. or hard drive memory too. Please tell me exactly what to do.
NExt on my HTC Imagio I want to run SBP mobile shell but I want to run TF3 too because I like the weather start up on it and I can't get to it with spb shell running someone talked about it but I can't figure out what to do based on what I read, I want to start up TF3 and then hit a button to go to shell. ANy one know how to do itl Also I have Pocket Mechanic and all kinds of tools but not SK Tools. I have Vitual Espolorer cuz I thought that would help me ID files but now that I can ID them I doh't know what I need and what I don;t. If I get SK Tools will it help me know what to do. Nothing comes with a manual anynmore. I need a detailed manual for the phone and how it works not what it does. Can anyone answer these with esplicit directions cuz I don;t know a .dll from anything else. I only know that an exe runs something, So Im really dumb about all this. ANyone know how to help. It 2:30 AM and I;ve been up all night for a week trying to figure out things on this phone. So far I like it a lot but the more I add the slower I get and I might want to add more. HELP!!!!!! Going crazy.....
OK, that's a whole lot for anyone to try to process. First things first, what's your biggest problem? The best way to get help is to knock down the issues one at a time.
The first problem is I have a services.exe error every time I turn the phone on after it's been off or any time I reset it. That's first
Based on a little Googling, it looks like the only fix for a services.exe error is a hard reset. I pasted the info on a hard reset below for you:
This will wipe all data off the phone and restore factory default settings.
1. While the phone is off, press and hold Volume Down + Talk/Send + End/Power.
2. When the device displays a message about wiping the data, release all 3 buttons.
3. Press Volume Up to complete the hard reset.

I don't know what programs you are trying to move, listen, just forget moving programs, back up or your files via myphone or use activesync to store everything you want on your computer. When you perform a hard reset either by the method listed or by going to Start->settings->all settings->system->memory then selecting clear storage tab, letting win mo come back up and customize then before you do anything when it restarts, hard reset again, for some reason this helps the functionality of native software. Then immediately take care of the tv icon, proxy mem. tweak, and nopifix. Then what ever you need to install try to install to your sd card via downloading from this xda site for cab files or doing a little google searching rather than installing directly from market place. EXCEPTION: DO NOT INSTALL TWEAKS TO SD CARD OR ITEMS THAT ROTATE THE SCREEN. Keep all the cab files on your pc or on your storage card so that you have them whenever you decide to hard reset or flash your device. Enjoy your imagio thing only become easier the more you use and play.
I must not have my activcesnyc set up right because the only thing it backsup is my contacts, email, journal and a file folder full of what ever I want to but in that folder but thats snyc with my docs on my devic and I don't want to over load it. When I had a palm it used to back everythng up to a file on my computr and I could just reinstall but this windows stuff doesn't seem to do it. How do I set up active sync to sync everythi ng on my devide and card to back up to my computer.? Ans I don't have a clue what you were talking aabout when you said take care of your tv and those other files, not a clue. I have mobil shell on my phone is that what your taling about not having on the phoen. You need to talk like your talking to a 12 year old when your explaining this stuff to me. Thanks. L

Hey you said something about getting rid of the tv icon and other stuff after a hard reset, but never explained in detail. plz help, thx
After weeks of zero issues (aside from memory leak), I just got a barrage of services.exe errors this morning. Phone was throwing error after error even after a soft reset. After three soft resets it's finally working now (after another services.exe error). I didn't make a single change to my configuration though so I'm a big perplexed as to why these just started showing up now. I was really starting to get content with my Imagio too...sigh.

[HELP] My phone is acting up!..

Alright well randomly when i would go to the photo album i could scroll through a few photos, then "We're Sorry..." A problem has occured with Manila.exe
I did some research and people that tried formating their SD Card, got it to work again. Well since it worked for them i decided to try it...not knowing its just going to delete everything from my SD Card...So I deleted everything from my SD Card.. now what? I take it i should do a factory reset? Will that put all the default stuff back on the SD Card, like Transformers 1 & 2?
At the moment i writing all my contacts down...but can someone please help me figure this out? I just wanna go to bed cause i got work in the morning..
The HTC HD2 is such a hassle, theres always something wrong with it.
The movies are gone. Sorry. Do a backup or copy sdcard contents to your desktop next time.
Nope. You should always back up your content that is on your SD card before you format. Its gone for good.
Well **** my lifeee. Ok would T-Mobile be able to fix this? Cause this is just getting too confusing. I hate this phonneee...also my phone isnt reading my SD Card.

Do you have it connected to the PC in "disk drive" mode? If so, your phone won't see your SD card while it's connected that way, only while it's connected via activesync.
Hmm, well yes it was lol. Is there a site or some source i can just download the default SD Card files from?

Not the movies. The games etc can be found in the sticky at the top of this section titled "Links to cabs, ROMS, how to's, & Jaime's "New to WinMo & Absolute newbie tweak guide"...in there are links with all the other stock apps from the HD2 (and a bunch of other stuff you should probably check out).
You might be able to go to a T-Mo store and see if they will swap out your sdcard with one from a return unit.
Don't give up on your hd2, it is a great phone. Everyday I find something new about my phone that makes me happy I went with it. WinMo is complicated, but once you get it set up, it runs really well.
Well im kinda stuck with this phone for 2 years. Not much I can do. So far it pisses me off alot, like when i receive a text, my phone freezes for about like 15 seconds while it loads to my phone. That and the fact its slow and it just fails as an OS.

You really need to read that new-to-winmo guide in the thread I mentioned above. In fact, here's the direct link for you:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=688928
Then go back and read everything else in that thread I pointed you to...with a little care, WM can be a wonderful OS...I wouldn't trade it for any other, personally. There's solutions for every one of the issues you've mentioned, if you'll just take the time to read and learn here at xda.
I believe there is s fix for the text lag, but I don't know where it is. I must be lucky because I don't have the text or music tab lags. I have around 500 texts with about 350 from one person and I get very little lag loading messages and I have 8 plus gb of music and the sense music player works great.
Try Cookies Home Tab or maybe one of the custom roms.
Okay well I still cant view my photos without "Manila.exe" to crash. Should I just restore my phone, or is there a fix.

Yes if it's still doing that after the card reformat, a hard-reset might be the best shot at clearing it up. Are these pics you've taken with the camera, or ones you copied to your SD card? If it's the latter, how many pics do you have on there?
Also, just fyi, you don't have to write your contacts down to save them...if you just run the myphone app that's already on your phone, it will back them up along with your text messages, and allow you to restore them to the phone after a hard-reset or a ROM flash.
Well i saved a bunch of pictures i got off google on too my phone, and thats when it started having the error. Um where is the myphone app located?
You can copy all your contacts to your sim card instead of writing them down...just saying to save you some time.

or use mobile back up.
But make sure your MicroSD isn't corrupt. Try a different MicroSD and see if it works. It might be the card reader in the phone.
Might be able to get a warranty replacement if that is the case.
Im just going to use Microsoft My Phone its easier, and i dont have to click one by one just to add contacts to my sim card. Um im sure my SD card is fine, it just has nothing on it lol. Im going to run the the T-Mobile store tomorrow and see if then can exchange the SD card for one with all the default stuff on it.
Alright well i backed up everything i needed on Microsoft My Phone. Now im just going to do the hard reset.

Once you've done that, just run the myphone app again...it will have you sign in, then it will update the app, and then it will download the contacts and messages etc back down to your phone.

Seeking advice before I take a hammer to my EVO

I unlocked and I think unlocked the nand protection via toasts methods and sue to a variety of issues couldn't flash a rom. No biggie, I'll just live with root. I reinstalled all my apps from titanium backup and began setting up my evo. Went to take a picture and was told I couldn't due to insufficient file permission. Anyone have any idea how I can get my evo to where I can back up my data and save pictures and videos?
I think I might just take a hammer to it and use the best buy insurance I have.

I started from scratch. I got as far as trying to root. I place the pc36img.zip file in the root of my sd card and when it goes to read it, it reads 4 lines down then stops. nothing, no progress bar. I've tried dnlding the file from various sites and I used a variety of sd cards, including formating a couple. Not sure where to go from here.

SGS life after a Hard Reset

since i was unable to find the proper answer to fix the problem the easy way
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=793254
i had to go it the hard way
just went ahead and Wiped my phone.
it was less painful than i though it'll be, it was within the calculated parameters of the process involved to get your device up to speed in record time in a massive failure
so once the phone booted back into the OS, the very first thing i did was to setup APN
then sign in to my gmail account, BAM! got all my pictures, phones, contacts, calendars, etc, every thing back
then next task was to install AppsBrain, hit sync and BAM! i got my list of 400+ apps to install back
now i'm clicking through about 800 times install, okay, continue LOL :r
and i'm rather surprise Android Market, and the OS hasn't crapped out on me yet with the massive deluge of files action
it's install faster than i though... only 200+ apps to go
and about 15+ more email / IM accounts to join back into the system, and reconfiguring 400 apps
the Titanium Backup backed up files got wiped out in the process
at least i'm getting a good vibe out of this, it means the upgrade to Froyo will be just the same
the phone is HOT of all the 3.5G activity
the actual 3 button reboot to Recovery Mode + Wipe data and reboot back took less than a minute.
chances of missing a call during this time is quite low
SMS will be downloaded as soon as your phone goes back into OS, so chances of missing out on an important SMS is very unlikely
another interesting i noticed is that the File System is not choking up as it did before the Hard Reset.
before i couldn't get more than 4 apps downloading/installing concurrently in parallel
right now i'm doing around 10 at a time, and it doesn't slow down.
what gives?

Really? Maybe i should wipe my device to
Installing more than 3 apps at the same moment.... it´s just a pain...
exactly, normally when you try to download and install 4 apps simultaneously it gets sooooooo slow, worse than a snail
but for some odd reason right now that is not happening, it's smooth download and install, i wonder that's the difference
recommend you buy/install mybackup pro.. you can reinstall a bunch of apps without it prompting you for each one... i think if you pay for titanium backup it does the same..
i frequently copy the appmanager (diff app i use) and titanium backup directoryies from internal to external sd so i have have a backup in case of a full reset ..
i also set mybackup pro to backup directly to external sd.
yeah, that was my problem i forgot to move a copy of titanium backup from internal SD to external SD
otherwise i'd not have had to go thorugh 800+ clicks to say OK to everything
LOL
well... after aprox 250+ apps/games installed the phone is going back to its old self slooooooooow when you try to install 2 or more apps concurrently.
and the list of Manage Apps takes a while to load up
so it seems like the sweet spot is to keep less than 200 apps on the phone to keep it running silky smooth
Thanks for the report and the painless part, AllGamer.
May have to try it one of these days if I screw up.
After reading you post, I move the Titanium Backups to SDcard
just so I don't forget. Now have to remember to update it.

I can't even imagine how you have 800 apps on your phone. I just counted and I have 21, and to me that is a lot, but perfect.
not 800 it's 400 but for each install you need 2 click
so that's 800 clicks
Can you do a write up on step by step how to wipe and reinstall the (JH2) ROM, kernal, modem etc for i9000M?

Best way to migrate

I'm going to be coming from the Motorola Atrix to the SGS3. Whats the best way to migrate my apps + data? I know I can just reload my purchased apps from the Play Store but I have a lot of 3rd party apps that were sideloaded. I have Titanium Pro but will it work going from one phone to another?
Titanium Backup will work from phone to phone. Just remember that you will have to root the SGS3 before you can use it. Also, make sure that if you use the batch restore function not to restore system apps and data and this can mess up things on the new phone. Just restore user apps and data.
Hope this helps.

Doh! Sorry. Been reading so much, I"m reverted to skimming too fast.
I too am anxious to get it all going. I suspect it will be fast. But in the meantime, we suffer w/o data updates it would seem.
The price of being on the got to have list early I guess
Can someone explain me a little bit more? I'm a noob for this stuff...
So I have Titanium on my old Galaxy, I make a backup. Then I root my S3. Then what? I install from Play Store the Titanium app on my S3? Or I have to install the Titanium that was on my old Galaxy?
Thanks for your patience...
I believe Titanium backs up to your sd card. You install from market on new phone, then place the backup file from Titanium on your sd card to new phone and restore.

First, your GS3 will need to be rooted. (I don't know if TIBU will even install or run if not).
You can install it from the Market, not needed from your old device so that TIBU can restore from them. But, you need the data files that were backed up on your old device.
While TIBU backs up to yoru SD card, you need to get those files over to your new device. Several ways that can happen:
Files put on Google Drive, or DropBox, then moved to new device.
Set your backup directory to an external SD instead of internal SD. That is what I do.
Once you have the files from your old device you can restore to the S3.
I'm assuming your old device is not ICS. So you will NOT want to do system restore.
I've read that people occasionally have issues restoring from TIBU. Just to be safest as possible, I will likely install all my apps from Market, and try to restore the data from Tibu.
That being said though, I won't be doing that until I can root, and I don't plan to root until I'm sure I can get everything back to stock.
Thanks a lot to both of you for answering me. I think I got it now. I'm coming from Skyrocket with GB and I'm planning to get the S3 in about august... so probably the rooting won't be a problem for then.
Thanks again...

Purchased Apps should be uninstalled prior to using the new phone. Yes, I know that you can often install paid apps on multiple devices, but that's not the intent. Then once you register the phone and it shows on the market, you can quickly just install all the apps in the list.
IF you have a Google business acct they actually have a apk that you put on the phone and it can uninstall and unregister a (living) phone from your Play (Market) account (as well as do other tricks like full wipe and changing the pin). Normal people can only 'hide' the unused phone.
TI (which I use) requires Root to do it's stuff (or a lot of it), so without root access, I don't see it. Thankfully, I use a 3P contacts sync and wifi settings backup so I won't have that issue with my old phone being Dead.

Well, I haven't checked my paid apps yet. I did not uninstall them from my old phone, and I have already activated the new SGS3.
It automatically downloaded and installed my apps. (Again, haven't checked which may be missing yet).
So, all is there. On a few, I may be able to export data, on others, I'm not so sure I"ll succeed getting data there until I get root for TIBU.

You might not be so lucky with all your paid apps. Some, like gameloft, are picky about making sure to check with the license server that only one copy of their game is active on a device at a time.

I just installed most of my pay apps, some I've started using on my TP instead. I was surprised that SWIFTKEYE X didn't charge me, but I was an original beta tester for them, I didn't like the default Swype keyboard, the predictions were so off, and the Swiftkey does predictions based on my posts, emails, etc.
I had been hopping to restore my many network wifi stuff, but the program that does that isn't compatible with ICS...
