[q] htc hd2 flashing rom issue
Can anybody help me.I have MAGDLR and the Bootloader installed by a previous chap who owned the phone, all the correct versions. THe phone HD2 (T-Mobile), when I got it, had Gingerbread on,but the FM radio was not working,
so I thought an Upgrade was in order. I went to the MIUI website and downloaded the latest stable rom and followed the instructions as best as possible, but I had problems with the
Bootloader going from Serial to USB and being able to flash the rom like that. I then tried the loading the rom ZIP file to the SD card, and then using Clockwork orange recovery to
to install the ZIP file from SD card. That being said, I rebooted and the phone just stayed hung on the HTC logo screen. (And I didn't do a back up, before I started.)
I eventualy found a Jaws MIUI rom, that instaling via Clockwork Orange, worked, but it is Froyo and not a lot of stuff works very well. What is the correct procedure to install
from SD card, with Clockwork Mod Recovery? The Roms that I download, do I have to unpack the zip, do something on the files? I have read that depending on the rom that you have, when
doing a ClockWorkMod Recovery installation, that you need to have the right Size partition or image disk version of the Clockwork recovery MOD, But I can't swap and change this as my USB does not work between the phone and the PC.
I have installed active sysnc, does not work and I have tried this both on my Desktop and Laptop. As the one response suggests, Formatting your PC seems a bit extreme.
Help, Pleeeeeeeeez!
Thanks

MAGLDR driver was not sucessfully installed

I have been flashing my HTC HD2 EU model without issue for weeks now, i have had many different versions of android on and had no problems carrying out all the steps, but after reinstalling windows i am unable to get the MAGLDR drivers to install it appears as an "other device" in device manager with error code 28 (no driver installed)
I have HSPL 2.08 installed. and radio 2.15.50.14
Heres what i have tried:
-install/remove HTC Sync
-install Windows Mobile Device Centre
-installed Android SDK and google driver revision 4
I have booted into bootloader and attempted to reinstall the radio AND HSPL, but the bootloader also shows as an "other device" and it does not show "usb" on the screen, so when i run "romupdateutility" i get connection error 260..
i am fresh out of ideas i have spent nearly a week and half googling the problem is as many ways as possible and nothing even remotely helpful has come up, if i boot into CWM i can mount the SD card and i can install (some) ROMS, but only ones that use the same partition layout i am currently using and i cant use any others because i cannot flash the partition layout.
Theres not an issue with the phone because i have a computer at work and it all works fine there, just wont work on my home laptop
any ideas?
*update* i have read a few people with a similar (not exactly the same) issue are he owners of bricked HD2's my device DOES work it works fine but just wont install this bloody driver so i can never flash another ROM and i dont know why. 36 views and NOONE has an answer?
in WMDC make sure 'allow usb connections' is unticked.
Thanks for that mate your a lifesaver that got it to install the device driver for MAGLDR, but i still couldnt get the bugger to flash via USB, strangely killing ADB in task manager solved this and i am not able to flash. Problem solved!
Has anyone found the resolution? I am also facing the same problem and because of this, I even cannot use Android Debugging.
Any help?

*Urgent* Bootloader won't connect - Brick?

hey all,
Wanted to do a clean installation of cyanogenm7,
Step by step:
entered bootloader
run task29
enterbootloader
install radio 2.15.50.14
enterbootloader
install magldr113_daf
thats it..
now, it can never use usb flasher (in order to install cwm) from magldr
for only 2-3 times it connected from USB in bootloader, and now it does not happen either. and I couldnt install cwm on that bootloader ofcourse.
windows faults; device not recognized..
did it brick? and.. why?
I'm leaving town for a business meeting tomorrow and have no backup phone right now.
save me please! =)
came home to try on a machine with XP (activesync present)
cant connect and also XP gave the same error..
device not recognized..
any ideas?
went back to laptop, win7x6
it didn't recognize at first, as usual
then it went USB on bootloader.. (did a restart first, and then it says HTC USB SYnc is successfully installed)
task29 'd again
fine
radio install began and, lost connection in the middle.
now says rom code error as normal, but again not recgnizing the device...
If aynone interested, or anyone else having the same problem at the future,
the phone is at the service and the mainboard's gonna be replaced.

Maybe your usb cable is damaged
Might help if you do a fresh reinstalled of windows 6.5 will erase all. And try again.

if you were already running cm7 then all you needed to do to fresh isntall was boot into CWM and factory reset it and isntall the rom from zip
all those extra steps you have taken are pointless

Help me please to fix my phone

My phone got a little liquid on it and after that it frozen so I did a soft reset and now my phone is freezing on android boot screen every time. The problem is what my MAGLDR is not working properly now too and my ClockworkMod Recovery is not working at all, so I don't know how to reinstall soft now. The MAGLDR is kind of flashing always and its hard to control as sometime its not reacting to my button push. And then I try to go into ClockworkMod Recovery its just starts loading, does that 1234 go and it freezes on it, every time. But besides all this stuff my phone looks like working fine, just looks like it just has some software damage. I think it should work with a new soft if not at least I can send it to my insurance as I will change a soft back to normal, because now my insurance will not fix my phone as it freezes on android boot screen so whey will see that I have android and not windows. Waiting for any good advice. Thank you
Btw. My original boot loader is not working too, I can't get in to it. I think its because of the android.
i suggest flash the stock rom first , then do all the work again flash MAGLDR and then recovery and then the android rom you want to use and read the instruction for your device if you using hd2 EU or hd2 T-Mobile ... good luck

'USB mass storage is working fine'
You may be able to flash a stock ROM from the SD card but I think it involves the bootloader. Have a look at This thread and see if it helps (I CBA to read it properly, sorry )
Thanks, but yes it involves the bootloader
Does Bootloader normally work if MAGLDR & ClockworkMod Recovery is installed on device?
yea man its working fine in my phone .... okay how about if you get your phone and connect it to another pc ... maybe the wrong with your pc ... and run the usb flasher and flash the stock rom bro

Yeah that's a good point. If you can, trying PCs with different versions of Windows could help (i.e. XP, Vista, Windows 7 etc.)
Ok so I managed to connect my phone via USB Flasher on my work computer and I installed "[30.DEC.10][DFT]LEO "Stock Desire" NAND Android ROM" without any problems but my phone still stucks on DFT Boot screen. I also tried to reinstall MAGLDR and ClockworkMod Recovery to get Clockwork Recovery work but it didn't work, it didn't change anything. Does any one have any ideas what can I do next? Is it possible to install wm 6.5 via USB Flasher? As I know it needs bootloader Does any one have more ideas how to fix it?
yea bro install the stock rom as wm6.5 using the usb flasher ... get it back to the stock then re-install any rom you want

I can't! Because wm 6.5 requires connection between bootloader or active sinc, there is not other way when instaling wm 6.5, and none of them work now on my device
take a look here, we have the same issue too... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=899628&page=7

mobile device center

I have CMYLXGO's Topia HD-NAND Edition on my hd2.
The problem that I am having is that Mobile device Center does not show my phone when I connected to the usb.
can anyone help me?
Thanking you in advance,
Henry
Isn't mobile device center for windows mobile only?
You're on Android, why do you want to connect ti WMDC anyway?
Yeah, you don't have a WMo phone anymore, so to say.
If you want to connect to the PC, try USB mass storage.
If you need any help, just let me know.
Ok, so how can I change differents roms if my phone does not sync. with my pc, I used to able to do it, now for some reason I can't.
thank you for yor reply,
Henry
It depends on what room are you using?
If you are using magldr, clk or you are just flashing through clockworkmod.
For every type of bootloader there is a way to enter the flashing menu.
Just tell me what rom (and what type of bootloader) are you using and I'll tell you what to do.

HTC HD2
ACA GB 237 CM7
kernel 2.6.32.15
NAND Android ROCKS!
As a relative noob myself I recommend either HD2 tools or easyandroid, the latter being easy to use and explains every step of the process as you go and confirms you have correct radio, magldr HPSL ect already installed.
If you are looking for a good ROM, Team Blue Droid have produced an excellent sense 3.5 Rom which looks the business and works far better than many others I have flashed recently on mh EU HD2. I am not that technically minded regarding SD card partition types, but I run mine via SD card after flasing a 1024 partition using CMR and the accompanying DAF.exe.
From reading many threads I understand camcorder is less than perfect on most roms at highest res.

Try it with "HTC Sync" (download 4free) instead of mobile device center.

if yo uare flashing DAF roms the nyou go intothe bootloader and flash
most roms these days are CWM based and you install themn via zip file from the sd card no need for the computer
Ok, let me try to explain myself better so you can try to help me, thanks.
I did install the magldr 1.13 on my phone, when I plugged the phone to my pc for the first time it showed that it was intalling the driver and that went ok, my problem is that I don't see my phone on the screen so if I want to flash another rom how do I know that my phone is comunicating with my pc, my friend tells me that the minute he plugged he's phone to his pc, he sees his phone on the screen.
Can you help me?
Thanking everyone in advance,
Henry
have you tried removing and reinstalling wmdc? once just because of that i had to format my pc
1. You need to enter magldr bootloader, just reboot the phone and hold the on/ off key until you get on the magldr options screen. With your usb plugged in, scroll to usb flasher and confirm the option by pressing the call button.
Then open the rom you want to install in your PC and go for the flash. If the phone is not connected, then it shouldn't do anything. If it is, it will install.
2. Other option, from what I'm reading, I think your driver might not have been installed properly.
Try connecting the phone to other PCs. And do the usb flasher thing.
Let me know if this helped.

[Q] Allright i think i screwed up

After a few months i decided to try out the Sense 3.5 SensationXL rom and i screwed up because i forgot a thing or two.
I went to (8) AD Recovery and did a "wipe data/factory reset" and also wiped the dalvik cache and then formatted by sd card through the pc once i realized it still had data on it.
Now my phone doesn't have a rom but still has magdlr and cwm but doesn't recognize when i connect the usb (i assume the driver got deleted) in the 4 colour screen or either in (4) usb mass stg.
so how do i get the phone back to work ? i cant even do task 29 and start from the beginning because my pc doesn't recognize when i connect my phone through the usb.
Hmm do you have active sync installed on your PC. You need to have it to use the boot loader.

i think so.
i'll download and install it to be on the safe side.
Sorry my bad. I thought you were talking about the boot loader ( tri colour screen. ) You could try downloading the google drivers from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060 This is Tytungs post. Look half way down the page and download Google_usb_driver_r4.zip. That shoud allow you to install the drivers and let you talk to magldr.
i downloaded the windows mobile device center!
i had formatted my pc in october so i forgot about that and thats why my pc wasn't recognizing it.
i did a task 29 and installed magdlr, cwm again and partitioned the sd card and installed the rom. All working fine now!
Your first post was what reminded me to download windows mobile device center
thank you!
Not a problem glad I could help
