Good Morning,
After many weeks of wrangling with my new LG P500 and going through one LG service center re-instal ( my fault ! ) I am loving my phone finally. Yesterday someone put me onto Tiny Shark ( the music service ) and I thought all my Xmas' had come at once. However after loading a bunch of play-lists and then trying to play.....no sound ! I googled and found varying threads about putting flash on the LG p500 ( android 2.2.2). You can / you cant / you can / you cant / etc etc. Anyway I did find some threads with links to a .apk flash file which I SEEM to have successfully loaded onto my phone using app loader. It says it installed
However, tinyshark still wont play sound. It plays.,.....just no sound and yes I have checked my volume settings
So....please......can someone give me the definitive answer about flash on this phone ?
thanks
i believe the flash is only for the browser
If I'm correct it only works in the browser.
Sorry - you have both confused me !
In the tinyshark settings you have the option to check if flash is installed and when i do that is tells me that....yes.....flash is installed. it also says if there is still a problem using tinyshark to go to a browser and see if it is working there. So i go to a flash site and no....it does not seem to work. I am just confused as to why flash seems to have loaded for all intense purposes with no error messages etc.
its a buggy version of flash which is not intended to work on our phone but works 50% with some errors and crashes... if adobe dont release flash for armv6 we cant do anything much??

Yep, the flash apk found in the forums works well with Tinyshark!

Or can i open *.swf files through astro or something like ... if i can, please inform me how i can
cheers
yes. as fas as I know, you can access flash based sites through the browser with that
Did you try opening the browser and visiting a flash based website yet?
That is true. I was able to show my friends a stupid .swf using my phone. It played surprisingly smooth!

How? lol
I installed it and so far no difference. I believe its installed as I see it under Manage Applications. Well wait, in the native browser when I click on video content it shows up with a play button, when I hit play it plays right in the browser really choppy though. Does this confirm its installed correctly? If so, why so choppy? Is it because the Aria has a processor under 1ghz?
No, the file posted above is NOT working for anyone running 2.1. What you guys are seeing in the browser is Flash Lite, which was ALREADY present and working on the Aria before you installed the above apk.
Again, do not install the apk posted above. It's just wasting space on your phone and not actually being used by the browser.
I installed the Flash 10.1 for Android 2.1 w/ sense. My understanding is that the flash 10.1 was altered to replace flash Lite. According to the Adobe website my flash version is 10.1.123.425. So I think one of them works.
See your flash version at http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
That is what it says I have and I didn't install anything.

Yea it doesn't do anything. I can tell it loaded a page and quickly said htc flash or something.
I removed the 10.1 install and went to the page, no change.
So yea, don't bother with it. Useless.
But you can install Adobe Air!
http://phandroid.com/2010/07/02/install-adobe-air-for-android-now/
How do you remove the 10.1 install? I am not sure where it got installed :\
You just goto Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications
D'oh! I had gone in there previously but for some reason, I missed it.
Thanks!
is there a test site
I installed this right away before it was said it wouldnt work but whats the difference between the lite and the full i didnt do any testingbefore i installed it but all the sites i have tried work fine, im using stock rom i installed it using sdk but i play games on miniclip.com and i went to a flash test site and tried all the videos and and samples they had and all worked fine. i did not do any tests before.
is there a site i can go to that will show me its not working before i remove it thanks. also one thing i did notice is that before i installed i saw something somewhere i think it was in applications and i think it was com.htc-flashlite or htcflashlite something like that and i dotn see it anymore but i do see htc flash player and adobe flash 10 before i installed it i did do a clear cach on the htc flashlite whatever that was(prolly just a flash lite bright screen) but i cant find it now not sure where i saw it.
This is what I spotted on the HTC Legend Facebook page:
http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-install-flash-10-1-on-android-2-1-eclair-devices/
I would say it's just flash lite so just a fake
What do you guys think about it?
i think its real... i have installed Flash 10.1 to my Legend 2.1 Eclair
Tried to install it on recent Dark Azure... it installs without problems, but browser crashes all the time, so still no flash, even flash lite, for legend and FroYo...
It's real I installed and then tried Adobe flash test website and flash is indeed installed
Sent from my HTC Legend using XDA App
well it installs for me, but i didn't notice any difference in performance when trying to play games or viewing videos straight from webpages =/
Seems to be working just fine.
V nice tyvm
edit
I was on cleanenclair and the standard browser
dr.dk/nu -player doesnt work (but this does? -> link
eve-online.com -weee! looks like on me comp
Seems to able to play some flash movies in browser but had mixed results, it deffinatly can play acctual flash movies.
Im impressed so far ;-)
Here the browser open but closes itself right away... = Not working

working here, i tried a flashgame and also the adobe flash website... it said that flash 10.1.something is installed
performance is not that good, but i didnt expect it to be super fast
It's works on android 2.1 only, when you install flash 10.1 on froyo the browser will force close.
Yes it's real. Just install'd it, and ran some test pages. So far so good

Are you sure it replaced the flash lite from htc?
what happens if you use it on a rom NOT based on stock (like cyanogen 5) ?
I bet it works on stock based roms only, because they already have htc's flash lite.
I had an older adobe flash 11 version apk i installed and that didnt work. It only showed the blue cube symbol. Any way to make it work?
I use Dolphin Browser HD 8.5.1 and Flash 11.1.115.17 and get no problems other than full screen not working.
Another one of these...
Boat browser + latest Flash *.apk (here on xda). No problems at all, even full screen works properly.
Or Firefox + flash 11.1.115.17.

Thanks, was worried because on the sgn didnt have this issue with an older version of flash and on the nexus 7 it didnt work. Also, when I went into playstore to get the adobe flash it said was compatible with my device which sucked.
1. Flash: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html (scroll down to Flash for Android 4.0)
2. Browser:
Firefox: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...251bGwsMSwyLDEsIm9yZy5tb3ppbGxhLmZpcmVmb3giXQ..
Boat: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...r.free&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDNd
3. ....
4. profit.

Boat doesn't work for me with .17 Flash. I get the blue cube symbol as well so I'm sticking with Firefox which plays 90% of the videos I've tried at least.
I must have something wrong in the settings for the Boat Browser is all I can think of.
When I go to the Flash Application Settings the only choices there are Peer Networking or Local Storage. Whatever the heck I'm suppose to choose outta the two there baffled me so I just left it on local storage and it doesn't let me go any further than that but at least Firefox works set that way.
Never mind. I didn't have .17 after all.
Got 11.1.115.17 for ICS from the Adobe dev site and both Boat and Firefox beta play Amazon Prime video with sound full screen now.
Guess I don't need to sell my N7 and get a Fire HD after all.
I am having the same problem with Boat and the last couple of versions of Dolphin will not let you enable Flash.
I tried Firefox and can get the video but no sound.
I am using the latest Flash apk from the Adobe dev site, do I need to use the modified apk from xda instead?
Where can I get an older version of the Dolphin apk, before they blocked Flash?

There's plenty of ways to get Flash working
As for me, I do absolutely nothing on my Nexus 10 that requires flash.

Nothing. I hope the developers are using HTML5.

I installed the newest/last flash apk and load whatever sites in firefox that require flash I've found it to work the best so far.
A few sites I visit still refuse to move over to html5 and a few want you to purchase their app/subscribe to the site for mobile. This works as a good enough solution in the meantime.
Backup the apk from my Bionic still on 4.0.4, upload to Drive, install on N10. Then I use Firefox when need to watch flash vids.

Avoiding flash all together.
I have other computers for that.
This is how you get it to work. You just need a browser that supports flash. I use Boat Browser whenever I load a site with Flash: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gunFYgj-au8
there are so many ways to get flash working on nexus 10...boat, ocean browsers r good but for me Aosp browser is the fastest and the smoothest... Never had any problems with Aosp... just use search to get Aosp browser working on nexus 10 stock rom... all AosP roms comes with Aosp. browser hope it helps.
I did nothing.. Never needed flash on my mobile devices.. Ever
Good riddance to that horrible piece of code

You guys clearly don't want as much porn as I do.
AOSP browser with the latest flash apk (available from the "archived versions" section of the adobe flash website) is my solution. :good:
Puffin browser works for me well, but its 3 bucks. I didn't mind paying for it because its works great. You get a free 14 day trial
Latest version of Flash downloaded from the Adobe site, and Dolphin Browser.. I have both frozen via Titanium unless I need them.. I'm all for not using Flash, but I don't want to not be able to access a site just because it uses flash.
