try to replace /bin/batt.d

It doesn't work.... i don't know what to do... maybe downgrade to eclair can solve it?
Battery isn't recognized yet... T.T

Please... help, i can't use my defy since 3 weeks :S

wipe data.....have try....

Anyway you can try an OEM Moto battery? Even on stock ROMs I have read of after market batteries not being recognized.

.. Wipe data doesn't work, i've not a Motorola official battery and there isn't a Motorola store :,( i think i must buy it from ebay... and wait until an official battery arrives
No one has a solution? Maybe for fake the battery signature, and make the phone think the battery is original?

I have no problems with third party batterys from ebay. You should be able to solve that problem by changing the rom. I am using CM7 nightly.

The problem is in the sbf i flashed, i think i must downgrade to eclair original rom, then root and install MIUI or CM... but this will take a lot of time :S
@shorty66 wich rom do you use? I mean: wich ORIGINAL ROM have you rooted for install CM7? An european one? 2.1 or 2.2?

U cant downgrade unless n untill u used nandroid backup+fixed sbf...
Try flashing a froyo u can switch back to tmo2.2...

MMM... can you guide me? Which sbf must i flash? I've heard of some peoples using non official batteries in a normal way, without errors, i think they're on an another rom, i think one of the first roms...
Now i'm using an european 2.2.2 ... if i want to downgrade to the first european 2.1 what i must do? :S

I've done it, but no way to use this battery... i think its the battery itself

Oh yes, I forgot, branded dhd just get it now 2.2.1, I am on 2.2.1 already, just before christmas, and very lucky, no any problems.., but still 2.3 will be nice ...
I was wondering if its better to install a new kernel and radio first better I install a custom Rom. Or it doesn't really matter which order I do it in.
Thanks.

So I guess I don't need to get ENG-OFF unless I decide to use a different radio, or it is a better to do it anyway?

Don't really understand what your trying to say! I would recommend, as Kali himself does, flashing one of the newer radios as they all seem to improve battery life, the most recommended one is Radio_12.28e.60.140f_26.04.02.17_M2_SF although I am currently running Radio_12.28g.60.140f_26.05.05.27_M3
which seems fine to me.

You'll need ENG h-boot if something goes awry in the flashing as it allows you to issue fastboot commands which can save a potentially bricked phone, plus it is the only way you can currently flash the new radio

thanks for your advice
would the efficiency of the radio varies from phone to phone or network to network?
since I am doing this whole process slate clean, which order would u recommend I install them in? roms, radio, kernel?
well, i'd definately do the rom last, as you would probably have to reinstall it after patching a new radio anyway.
Just flashed Radio_12.28e.60.140f_26.04.02.17_M2_SF.
So it doesn't matter if I flash the kernel or the rom first right?

NO DOWNGRADE TO ANY 2.3.6 rom or 2.3.4 or FROYO/ECLAIR and no root if you flash full sbf

You can try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1486731
Is a new sbf with CG ver 6 and Froyo Kernel, then you can flash any ROM that uses Froyo kernel
EDIT
Sorry, that doesn't work, you flashed the CG ver 7

[Q] 2.3.4 rom help

hi can anyone help,
i bought a defy sometime ago and the person who sold it flashed the 2.3.4 stock rom from here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1127085
so of corse the defy is green lense so there for camera doesnt work.
is there anyway that i can 1: get camera to work and/or 2: downgrade
ive searched and only found some chinese rom but it has dead links and im a little rusty with nandroid backups etc
can someone guied me
p.s im on cm7.1 if that make any diffrance
thanks folks.
I think 2.3.4 can be downgradable to froyo, am i not right?
I have a green lens defy with stock 2.2 froyo, and for cm7, cm9 and miui, the camera works, so I guess that who sold it to you have it upgraded, don't know why, :S
try flashing froyo, then flash cm7 over it
I'm not sure if will work, but why don't give it a shot
tell me if it worked
Good Luck
No he done full gb 2.3.4 and it says its not downgradeable. I've tryed to flash other sbf's but none work.
Thanks for reply mate.

it was true back then that it wasn't downgradable. but lucky you the situation has changed. you can now downgrade your phone and install custom roms. there are 2 methods available since your rom is only on cg or bl 5:
1) read the first post of this thread completely as all newbies should:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216982
and in there under common problems/questions you'll find your first solution. this method would preserve your phone to bl5 but it's a bit longer than method 2.
2) method 2 will upgrade your phone to bl6 but it's much easier. so if you don't have any problem with that, use this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1486731&highlight=bl6
That's great thanks.
Just what I was looking for

Try flashing the full SBF from here - I know the link works because I downloaded it myself a couple of hours ago. It's also rootable using the Droid 3 easy rooting tool linked in that thread. It says in the thread that the green lens camera can be got to work using Greenbreadmod.
If that SBF + Greenbreadmod gets your phone working again then I'd try MS2Ginger or CM7 on it (if CM7 will support the green lens camera, not sure). Take a nandroid backup first - install 2ndInitDefy to get CWM on the phone. MS2Ginger is based on Gingerbread but with some nice enhancements eg 1% battery step, power menu, 720p playback, panorama mode etc. I had the 2.1 version of MS2Ginger on my green-lensed Defy for many months and it was rock solid. I've not tried CM7 but lots of people like it.
ok im downloading it now
so just flash this with rsdlite is that correct.
i have downloaded greenbread 1.1 what do i do with that? do i unzip it on pc or move whole file to clockworkmod backup?

From the Greenbreadmod thread:
Installation:
Install official GingerBread via nandroid + fixed sbf
Install 2nd-init recovery 0.6.1 or later
Install zip from recovery
RTFM
lol i have no idea what any of that means RTFM? haha
im new at all this
i cant flash that rom anyway it gets to creating img or something like that then says executing then says fail???
ive got all moto drivers installed and running as administrator?
just want a stock rom that camera works.
fed up of cm7 keeps crashing.
tries all the others to like miuiandroid and some others.
starting to miss my iphone :-/

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1140839, by walter79, ur cam will work i and i used this rom its 100% work on my red lense defy plus
1) Is your phone actually working at the moment ie can you power it up and get to the home screen?
2) When flashing, do you power it up in to the bootloader? This involves holding vol+ as you press and release the power button.
I'm just wondering whether you might have too little battery to flash. The phone doesn't charge the battery in bootloader mode so repeated flashing can flatten the battery. I believe that bootloader mode will display something like "Battery low - cannot program" if that is the case. Possible fixes are: (1) The McGyver hack, (2) charge the battery in a cheap external charger eg like this one.

Firstly I used rom from HERE and after about a week it suddenly stop working and only looping on boot.
Then I tried ROM from HERE but I wanted to back to stock rom so I goes to THIS THREAD.
From this LIST I used "Android 2.2.2
Moto_Version.34.179.6.MB525.T-Mobile.en.PL" SBF file.
Now when I trying power on the phone it's just not working.
The only thing is working is white LED when I plug in to computer. I can't get into bootload mod too. Can I do something?

Your battery might be dead. Charge the battery with an external charger or McGyver method (be careful).
