[SOLUTION] Virtual operator & Roaming sign - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hi,
Some latest ROMs based on JVP, JVQ and JVR have one defict: With virtual operator there is a roaming sign, and the operation mode shows, that the phone is in roaming. Like mine I9000 in Finnish "Saunalahti".
The solution is to:
1. Put into folder "/system/etc" the file "spn-conf.xml" using your favorite method (ADB / root / etc.).
2. Reboot the phone.

Thanks, man! Solved my problem w/ Saunalahti

Any tips how to get this to work with MIUI rom? I'm also on Saunalahti and suffering from this virtual operator issue. I tried to copy that file to my /system/etc folder and reboot but the roaming sign just won't go off.

Same problem here, MIUI doesn't obey this option. I started a thread about this, so now it's just waiting

Problems also with ICS (beta1 by onecosmic) too. I can get the operator name to change, but fake_home_on part doesnt work.
Quite nice otherwise though..

Does anyone know the codes for USA TMobile?
I have a GT-I9000 international and it keeps the little R on the Operator.
Thanks!

Dunno if this helps but:
You can check out your current codes with network info II (for example)
From my i9000 running ICS RC1

Saunalahti, XXJVU-rom, roaming fixed
Thank you so much!
Updated my Samsung Galaxy S to XXJVU after some failed attempts at ICS.
Had gotten hold of some version, where my favoured Scandinavian keyboards wasn't optional either. I set the correct APN, but the "R"(roaming) wouldn't disappear.
Got internet connection when I had roaming enabled, not otherwise.
Checked my online-billing statistics from my operator, Saunalahti. Stats updates very often
and it stated I had been using my own connection for a couple of minutes,
all OK so far, but I don't want to have roaming enabled...
Transferred the file into /system/etc/ with Root Browser-app, got the phone rooted already.
Rebooted.
R disappeared, no roaming, 3G working.
Checked my statistics again. Minutes, kb:s had been ticking on my monthly flat rate.
Just as it should be.
By the way, in system/etc/ I found another file: apns-conf.xml , listing some apn-carriers,
but, in my case, mainly Asian or Brazilian, no sign of anything close to Scandinavia.
Maybe it also could be possible to replace that one with a correctly localised version?
But these spnOverrides worked for me, so I'm happy, thanks!

Just wanted to inform that CM9 now has an option to enable national roaming only. In my case (Telfort NL) it got rid of the annoying R Don't know about other ICS roms...

Also using kf1 or kb3 radios helps.

Mount as r/w.
If you are on ics, the spn-fix won't probably work.

I downloaded Mount /system (rw / ro) app and mounted system dir as r/w but it still didn't work. I made the system dir r/w from the app and also from boot. I tried transfering it with Root Browser and Astro both said either failed or access denied or something. I'm running XXJW4 and did CF-Root. Can't understand whats wrong. Is there another way to make system dir r/w or what?
Also when I browse the folders with Root Browser or Astro I find that etc folder before system dir like /etc and also inside the system dir /system/etc. The etc folder seems to have the same files inside both folders but are they the same or is it a bug or what?

Downloaded Super Manager and gave it root access and now it finally worked! it still goes for roaming for a second in boot but thats propably normal. Do still have manually configured your APN? I too have Saunalahti.

Has anyone who has Saunalahti as an operator got Oma Saunalahti app working? It worked when I had 2.3.3 stock installed but started complaining about only working on their on network when I installed XXJVU and XXJW4. Those both had the roaming problem but now that its "fixed" it still doesn't work.

Never had any problems with it. I have been using it with 2.x and 4.x Android roms. Now my modem is Kf1. roaming is "fixed" automatically with it.

Well i had some probs as well. Changed the /system/csc/sales_code.dat==> to VDF.
Build.prop:
ro.product.locale.language=nl
ro.product.locale.region=NL
That gave me full acces to Samsung Apps en Media-Hub widget
I asked samsungapps directly about this problem and was told that samsungapps was not supported on the Galaxy Tab. Strange that it downloads the Tabs 4 main apps from samsungapps when you first start using the Tab but then nothing. I put the same SIM in my phone and samsungapps went fine. It is just blocked on the Tab. Kies told me the same thing.
That is it in Thailand anyway, it may be a different story in other countries but I know samsungapps doesn't work in Laos which is a short swim away over the Mekong.
It is a bit like google market, technically only available in certain countries.

i really could not tell you what the differences are but all i can tell you is that i got the build.prop from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=909058
it sates to use this build.prop to work with the Media Hub.
well actually what i can remember is that my original build.prop has the devise name as GT-P100 (from Euro firmware)
and the region as GB
and the build.prop i used from the thread had the devise name as SGH-I987 (from At&T)
and region as US
now on the back of my tab it reads as devise being SGH-T849 (from T-Mobile)
i couldnt tell you any other differences between the two that would make my Samsung Apps app stop from working.
sorry cant really get a screen capture.......

Interesting, but makes sense I guess...
I will confirm that I rooted, fixed wpa_supplicant, THEN encrypted and all is well.
Thanks.
Please clarify though u are confirming that root then crypto works or you are about to confirm?

Yeap works here also
Only problem you cannot use pattern to unlock encryption, nor can you re enable it for lockscreen bummee.
Also the encryption password can on be 16 characters or less and can be changed on the fly, so I really wonder how strong the encryotion is.

I was saying it worked beautifully for me. I am rooted then encrypted with no complications.
No wifi issues here, even before I replaced wpa_supplicant. It holds solid to both my home wireless and my cellphone ad-hoc with no trouble.
If you have an older access point, it may be time to upgrade. I was forced to upgrade when I got a Wii - it's wireless would constantly cause my access point to reboot. Most consumer grade access points / routers are crap. I replaced mine with a DWL-3200AP. Doesn't have that fancy "n" stuff, but really, when your Internet is less than 1/4 the speed of your wireless network, does it really matter? Just an opinion, I know it matters to some people moving large files locally.

Guess it could be a Telus branded WI-FI only 7510 tab.
If it's actually 3g, or whatever they like to call their carrier service, and you can use their carrier service or anything other than WI-FI only. Then it's actually a 7500.
It could be some other crazy hybrid I've noticed being posted about lately other than GT-P7500 & GT-7510.
I'd check the back of the tab at the bottom and confirm what model you have before continuing to try to root.
Kinda hard to read, being so small and almost the same color of the tab, but the model number there is what I'd trust, at least more than the box.

Good luck finding a good ROM that is for a 7510 that supports anything other than WI-FI ONLY.
Of course if it is WI-FI ONLY I'd suggest Task 14.
Overcome ROMs have both 7500 & 7510 version so support may be a lot easier to get and more forthcoming there if it's anything more than WI-FI ONLY.

Samsung I337 4.4.2 update issues

Anybody got issues with latest update 4.4.2 for AT&T I337 mobile?
Please post here issues you are facing with latest update.
Thanks!!
None of my end so far. I just updated it last night around 1am EST. Been running since then perfectly fine. The phone is noticeably faster than before and has a quicker response time as well.
After the update the only thing I did have to do extra was reinstall SwiftKey. Any programs that I had that were in a paid status had to be reinstalled. Non-paid apps stayed with no issue.

Overall Ifind the update made my phone much snappier and the data seems faster but speedtest has it the same. The illusion must be from the phone being snappier. I disable new bloatware Beats Music.
I wanted to try ART but it appears Samsung has chosen not to include it.I'm hoping the pieces are still there and it can be enabled once root is obtained.
I have not had any SD Card issues but if I do I assume it may be something that can be worked around with root. So looking for a root method, I am.

It is supposed to work with the built-in file manager, but not with third party apps. Can you tell me which file explorers (beside the built in) lets you rename files on the external SD? I have tried several and that all fail (except the built in one).
It works fine.

How to get WiFi Calling and VoLTE with T-Mobile or MetroPCS in USA with F/FD Models

Ok so I've spent the entire time this phone has been on the market (march 2016) trying to get WiFi Calling and VoLTE working on T-Mobile or MetroPCS in the USA. With the Note 7 ports I had some luck and when Nougat finally came I needed to figure it out again. so here's what you do. First download the file Attached to this post, and you're going to need
Super stock ROM from Tkkg1994
Or
this ROM from ambasadii . Will this work with other ROMs? Well i've tried it on Superman and it didn't work but I think it might have to do with those ROMs being DeODEXed maybe not I don't know. I understand the difference but not why, so bear with me. If you get it working on other ROMs let me know.
Unzip the file attached and move it onto your phone somewhere, it doesn't matter where as long as you know where.
OK so now wipe your phone and Flash that ROM, I chose BTU CSC i don't think it matter though. NOW DON'T Reboot.
Go to the main menu in TWRP go to File Manager now you'll notice that the folders in that zip look like your /system/ right? so just cops the folders and files and then paste them in their respective folders in your /system/
I shouldn't have to say this but don't copy the priv-app folder and paste it or any others that have more files and folders that the one you're copying. but you can just copy and paste the /system/csc/ folder
when all those files are in their respective places just reboot the phone and you should be good to go.
I hope this makes sense, finally we can have WiFi Calling AND VoLTE AND be on Nougat AND live in the USA
ATTENTION: THE ZIP FILE ATTACHED IS NOT A FLASHABLE ZIP YOU NEED TO EXTRACT IT AND PLACE THE FILES YOURSELF IN TWRP'S FILE MANAGER.
I'd have made it a rar but I have a Mac and this is easier.
This works in super stock by tkkg1994 too which is deODEXed so..... https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/development/rom-superstoc-rom-v1-0-aroma-t3496520
Bro thank you. Worked for me.

Does at&t have wifi calling? The volte will probably work but I think T-Mobile has a very different wifi calling than everyone else which is why is so damn hard to get it to work on these phones. But I could be wrong.
You can try the Note 7 port CSC changer by tkkg1994 might work.

Does at&t have wifi calling? The volte will probably work but I think T-Mobile has a very different wifi calling than everyone else which is why is so damn hard to get it to work on these phones. But I could be wrong.

Yea he's been helping me out with all this but wants to wait for official Snapdragon CSC to come out before supporting them in his ROMs
I think the note 7 CSC changer works for volte because it's the same grace UI but don't quote me on that

Yea I tried it on sm and it didn't work and it didn't work on SS when I tried it but I tried it again on SS and it worked so it might work on sm but I don't feel like reflashing my phone again. But it might work I don't see why it wouldn't it why it didn't. But I also don't see why it didn't work on Superstock the first time I tried it and now it works so...

Yes it has to be a clean flash or it won't work on anything and has to be before it boots

Got it to work. Was having difficulty originally but I guess after install rom, you have to go and mount the system partition before you can copy the files. Thanks again!
I use the T-mobile support package from this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/development/sm-g935f-nougat-t-mobile-wifi-calling-t3514431
It has worked with every Nougat Rom and is TWRP flashable. I currently use it with King of Nougat v8 and have wifi, volte and video calling capabilities.

Got this to work on Superman ROM 2.0
Flashed ROM selected no CSC. Then immediately using CSC selector flashed BTU. Then followed instructions from post 1. Then reboot to system.
Thanks op!
You can do anytime.

Just want to point out that tmobile usa is now in the CSC selector. It works with superman, i just tested it. For anyone stumbling upon this thread, this topic is now totally irrelevant.

The stock contacts app crashes, so I just replaced it with a custom one which still works fine. I'm still able to make and receive voLTE calls. Do you know why the stock one crashes? Can I fix that by just copying the files from here? OP could benefit from some bullet points or something, this guide is a little confusing.
Please provide a way to get Volte on galaxy s7 SM-G935T model...I haven't found any dedicates way to do it...please help
