Hi there folks, having spent 2 days figuring out the dual boot for win phone 7 and android,i have finally managed to have wp7 on phone and android on sd card,i have wp7 correctly identifying storage on the phone as 4.0 gb, but when i boot to Android, it can not find any storage AT ALL, this is the only thing left to do for me to be very happy with the dual boot on my HTC HD2
Dual booting with 8gb SD card:
Android sd and WinPhone 7
Android 2.2.1 Kernal 2.6.32.15 Build1.72.405.3 CL29690
Windows Phone 7 .D F Team T9292
OS Version 7.0.7004.0
Moonlight v1.00Boot loader 0.96.2250.0
Chip SOC Version 2.2.5.0
Hardware Version0002
Radio Software Version 5.51.09.29_22.32.5010U
ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

as well as know winmo 7 on nand changes to sd to an unknown format except 200mb. so there is a special method to run an sd android with win 7.search for it.

Hi there,as stated,i already have the htc hd2 running winmo 7 and android, all i need to try to get sorted is the fact that android, sees No storage, and winmo 7 sees 4gb,so there is 3 gb not seen and it is on the same partition as the android install, there has to be someone who knows why this is...

[Q] Can I use respectively Android and Windows Phone 7 OS on the two sd cards??

I'm wondering that if I have 2 sd cards, can I use Android and Windows phone 7 OS on each card respectively?
If I could, I would buy one more sd card for android.
Actually, I the most like Windows Phone 7 OS among Android, WP7, Meego and WM6.5.
Could anybody tell me about it pls?
The short answer is no.
You can run Android from your SD card and still have a Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM on your phone.
You can have an Android ROM flashed to your phone (NAND).
You can have WP7 flashed to your phone (NAND).
You cannot have two NAND builds flashed at the same time (e.g. Android and NAND).
Therefore the best you can do right now is to have either:
WinMo 6.5 AND Android, or
Android NAND, or
WP7
Your solution... buy another HD2
Yes, you can have WP7 on nand and attached with one sd card, and then use a different SD card to run android from. Android will not be on nand, but you can run it from sd with magldr. Thats what I'm doing so I have a lot of space for each os... I have my 16gb card for WP7, and my 32gb card I have several android builds working. Working great for me now! You have to make some changes to the init.rc file in most android builds to make them work, but there are a few that work as is. There's a couple stickied threads in the HD2 Android SD Development section.
Also, you can partition your SD card so you can have WP7 and android using the same card. Instructions also in the sd dev section.

You forgot WP7 AND Android from SD
Quite correct, sorry.

android on windows 7 ? possible?

can i flash windows phonw 7 on HD2, and run Android builds [sd] like i'm doing right now (wimo 6.5) ?
You can either do this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=913815
or put a sd android build on a separate sd card and switch cards when you want to switch os's.

[Q] WM 6.5 + Android 2.3 + WP7

is it possible to have WM 6.5 in ROM memory and Android with WP7 on SD?
or any combination to have WM, WP7 and android on one HD2 and one or two SD cards?
no, not possible atm.
so what combinations are possible?
1 WM in ROM
2 WM in ROM and Android on SD
3 Android nand
4 WP7 in ROM
5 WP7 in ROM and Android on SD
6 ?
did I miss something?

If you are using the same SD card for WP7 and Android yes you can choosecat bootup but you have to boot into MAGLDR and then boot either Android or WP7. To boot Android you select option #2 Boot AD SD. To boot WP7 while in MAGLDR you select option #1 Boot WPH.
Multi OS xD
waiting...
im waiting for the day when i can run android on nand, then boot wp7 as a secondary OS since so far im not convinced that it's worth using as my primary just yet. also....having the option of ubuntu works fine too.
to be honest, if the development on ubuntu increases, i'd like to run that as nand and have the others as secondaries

[Q] Windows 7 and Android

Dear All Experts....
First of All Thanks to all.............
I have one question I have android 2.3.5 cynogenmod rom install on my htc hd2
on 16 GB card.... now i also want to taste win 7 on other card.....
Is it possible to use both Os without changing any setting while swaping the cards......
The HD2 (ATM) can't boot Windows 7.
But if you mean WP7, then no.
No because the HD2 can only hold one OS on its NAND, either WP7 or Android.
However, you can dual boot both OS's under two conditions:
1- It must not be a mango version (e.g nodo) .. because Mango locks up the SD and you can't use it for android. (AFAIK)
2- Android must be on the SD (an SD version).

Isn't there a SD card unlock for Mango ?
No its not possible to run both os off two sd cards
I got dual boot on my hd2 mango running as nand and android off the sd card
There is a storage unlock.cab file which partitions your sd card to whatever size you want to run android off the sd card after you flash mango..
Hi Moschino02
Can you tell me the Process for There is a storage unlock.cab file which partitions your sd card to whatever size you want to run android off the sd card after you flash mango..

a) Got to the back to future WP7 rom thread.
b) Read.
You just install the cab to unlock card and resize partition and then put your android files on the sdcard and boot android via magldr.
yeah but after i did that i cannot boot wp7.I use hyperdroid nand rom and yuki's mango build. Can anyone help i'm new in dual boot and i really dont know what to do but i want to fix it.If there is some way without flashing a stock rom and install the mango all the way from the beggining please share
I have clearly stated that you cannot boot Android (NAND) along with WP7, yet you tried to use HyperDroid NAND + WP7?
You need Android on your sd (refer to the SD development forum) and WP7 on NAND.

Installation - NAND vs. SD

Hi
I just bought a used HD2 and I will get it next week.
I wanted to get the HD2 to install Android on it, but I don't know if I should run NAND or SD version. As of what I understand, installing to NAND will install onto the internal storage where Windows Mobile 6.5 is installed by default and installing to the SD will install onto the an optional MicroSD card. Is this correct?
will you be dual booting or just replace the WM to Android? if you haven't heard about Native SD check out the links below, it could give you some ideas.
You can even dual boot from WP7.8 & Android but WP is always in nand, try to search the forums & read more about the HD2
