Okay. In some shop a test model of the galaxy s2 have well scratches its very waird. Can I remove the scratches with duplex scracht remover? Sorry from my english I come from the netherlands.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App

A scratch remove should work find on the home button - certainly easier than it would on the glass!
If you have any spare screen protectors, you may want to check them as some of them still have the cut-out bit for the home button attached to them, so you could trim it slightly and use that.
Other than that I wouldn't worry about it - it's very unlikely to happen and even if it does it doesn't affect the phone in any way whatsoever. If you saw a display model with scratches then that's because it's currently one of the most popular phones in the world and hundreds of people will have played with it every day, probably including small children and apes.

You would have to be an ape to get scratches on your Gorilla Glas.
As for the home button i think its just plastic but it has a silver bezel around it so may be finger nails scratching it.

okay! and no in the light? when you look in the light you can see scratches? i dont have anyone scratches on my phone only on the home buttom, the home buttom have no gorrila glass or what????

No disrespect, but I seriously doubt that people would be interested in some scratches on your home button that you can very rarely see.
Forget about them

I don't have any scratches either. I do take precious care of my phone and thankfully, nothing has happened to it yet.

i also do have several scratches not visible from the first glance... little bit dissapointed, but do not pay much attention. Saw some protectors on ebay, but those only with svarovskiy crystals. xD expensive - but really does not worth it unless u r a lady

Does anyone else have dust under the screen?

I've got dust under my screen, you can see it in light a little, but in direct sunlight you can see a ton of really small specs all underneath the screen. This has always bugged the hell out of me with phones..is it really that hard to make the screen sealed off good? Anyways, just wandering if anyone else had dust and how much dust they had. I'm about to rip the thing open and wipe it off myself...
I also have dust under my screen mostly because i work with my phone in my pocket all day. Unfortunately the only way to get the dust out of there is to take the dang thing apart. I don't think that blowing computer air in it will help as it doesn't have anywhere to go.

Yep, I said in my post that that might be what I'll have to do...but maybe it's good for warranty? And I have the phone in my pocket all day too, it still shouldn't get dust under the screen.
I keep my phone in my pocket all day at work, some of the time when at home, and all the time when I go out somewhere. No screen protector or case. I have no dust under the screen. I do remove the rear cover periodically and clean any dust out from the battery compartment and surrounding areas, so maybe this helps.

Scratch resistant screen......not quite.

My daughter found an ingenious way of scratching the screen on my Atrix and I just wanted to know if their was a way of rubbing something over them to make them less noticeable or can I replace the screen itself?

I put a screen protector on after I noticed a bunch of tiny scratches on my screen. Now I don't see them as much. It might be worth a try, especially since the el-cheapo ones I got were all of $1.50 for a 3-pack.

Just a diff way of lookin at things.
I did and always have had one on all my other phones. I wasn't happy with the display after that. I "drop bank" on a fine phone and was diminishing the quality of what i saw on the screen, so I took it off. The display was one of the features i bought the phone for.

I wouldn't put a cheap screen protector on my phone, but I would prob rather have a cheap one than nothing. Zagg and/or Skintech I can say from personal experience are amazing, must have screen protector(s) for any device. You will not be disappointed with either purchase. Today my Atrix, iPad and Captivate are all protected with them (plus Otterbox) and they all look like they just came out the box, they are completely flawless like they just come off the factory line. A finger has never touched the screens.

I've never used a screen protector on any of my phones and I've had A LOT. And I've never had even a tiny scratch on any of them.
It goes down to how you treat your phone. Ofcourse handling it like a Gorilla will screw it up. No Glass can save that so by all means if you're one, put the damn protector on other than that, she does look better naked
Sent from my Atrix 4g using Tapatalk
if you switch phones often, not sure if it's even worth it buying those cheap screen protectors even if they are like 1 dollar.
if you switch phones a lot, don't bother, but if you want no scratches, you should have just put on a screen protector before you really used it.
you can really see the scratches when you are using your phone unless it's a deep huge scratch. i have a bunch of hairline scratches on my phone, you can even tell when i'm using the phone. when the screen is off, you can spot a few if you look really closely.

Well, Gorilla-glass IS scratch resistant. But only to a degree. Just like with waterproof watches - that only works a couple of meters near the surface.
To be fair, it's extremely hard to do a noticeable scratch on the Atrix. If you carry it in the pocket for a while, it will get covered with many micro scratches that are barely visible. But to leave a huge scratch on it - you got unlucky mate.
Having said that, I carried my Milestone in the pocket with keys / without screen protector for a year and never had a noticeable scratch.
Gorillag-glass works, but it's not a perfect remedy.

Involuntary drop test result

I was just coming back home from the gym, brain dead after the heavy pulling workout, when the phone slid out of my backpack's top pocket and hit the footpath screen down. I was protected by the cheapo amazon gel case and Vikuiti screen protector. The height was roughly 1.5m, the concrete was rough and the phone hit flat like a goddamn cowpat, no tumbling. The result - 1 scratch and two little marks on the screen protector. No damage to the phone whatsoever. I feel that I've just used up all my good luck for a week. Gonna take it easy for a while But I must say that this gel case provides quite a level of protection for the money - it has this 0.5-1mm rim around the screen that prevents the phone from hitting the ground in most vunerable spot - the edge of the screen.
Sorry for the poor quality but there's nothing really to photograph so I'm not gonna bother.

Phoneception! o.o
I dropped it last Friday, it was on my jacket pocket, and when I got in the car, the phone fell out of my jacket in to some stony ground.... I expected the screen to stay upside up... but no, of course it crashed upside down....
I got some scratches on the right corner up, and left corner down... I thought the screen was intact, but when I came home i saw a little L form scratch, when i'm using the phone i don't even see it.... but i know it is there lol
And well, when using the S Pen, some times i feel the scratch.
It could be worse, so i have to say that even with a bigger screen and a little more heavier than the SGS2, the Galaxy Note has a very resistant screen... and in the other side, very weak frame, just as the SGS2.
where did you buy your Vikuiti

Anti-glare protectors make the screen look terrible on a phone.
No, it's not anti-glare. I have never come across an anti-glare protector that I'd be happy with. Not an issue with Super AMOLED screens IMO. I don't remember being annoyed by the reflection while using the phone even once, the colours are so rich and crisp that they outshine any reflections, even if my lockscreen and homescreen are both pretty dark. It's clearly visible only when the screen is off.

Does the Nexus 4 come with a screen protector?

Hi everyone,
So the question is pretty clear I think, I want to know if the Nexus comes with its own screen protector from LG/Google?
Thanks!
Sort of. It has one front and back. It looks like it's not intended to be kept on there, because there is a tiny tab to remove it, but mine seems perfect so I still have it on after several weeks!
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
Yes and they are perfectly cut but the front one has volume and power button symbols on it though but work very well still got my back one on.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
Yes, the Nexus 4 comes with front and back ones. They are pretty high quality too-nothing like those 5-for-a-dollar ones you get on eBay or the one that comes on Samsung devices. Like somebody else said, there are pictures on the front of the power and two volume buttons. They aren't that annoying though. I took off the factory screen protector and put on my Skinomi a few weeks ago because I got it for that reason lol. I still have the back protector on.

Thanks everyone,
does the device arrive with the protectors on it or are they separate?
Why am I asking? Assuming they come on the device, I don't want to think that I haven't received the protectors.
Typically those are the shipping protectors, they should be on the device. They really aren't met to be left on but to protect the glass in the box during shipping from scuffs and dirt.

Yes and no.
You are for the most part right, but since they have cut outs for camera and proximity/light sensor, it's pretty clear they expected people to leave them on.
I received my Nexus 4 in the mail yesterday and have left the screen protector on it's actually better than most screen protectors that are pre-installed on devices. I also think the volume and power indicators are actually quite useful. I'm still getting used to the location of the power button (coming from an HTC Sensation where it was on top). Like someone mentioned the indicators aren't too distracting either.

No it does not. It comes with a film that is static applied as part of the manufacturing process but they are not meant to be used as screen protectors.
they're screen protectors in a sense that its to protect it while it ships to you, but not meant for long term use. it doesn't have a good glide for your finger.
the front screen is rather tough. I've had mine naked for 2 months and not a single scratch. you may want to leave the back one on until you find a more permanent solution if you really want a screen protector.
Did anyone here ever use the Wrapsol screen protector? I want to buy it (and the back protector of course) but I heard it has the orange peel effect - can anyone confirm/disprove this claim?

I'm saying it uses the industry standard toughened glass that all other flagship phones use at the moment. The screen is no more prone to scratching than any other phone.
I know it should theoretically be the same as other similar phones, but I feel that it has scratched easily. Same conditions as previous phones, but in a month I already have more scratches on my screen than I ever did on my Nexus 4 or 5. Grr.
