[Q] Omnia 7 MMS - Omnia 7 General

Hello, I have recently bought a Samsung Omnia 7 phone and am quite pleased with it, apart from the annoying error messages whenever I try to send a picture message ''Cant send message Try again'' anyone know a possible fix for this? its very annoying!

Same problem
Have the very same problem, please help

I had to add the apn settings for my network provider to get mms to work on my omnia7. Its under 'settings', 'mobile network', then scroll down to 'add apn'. Just google for your settings.

MMS not delivering to my phone

What's up with that?
It used to work fine and I used to be able to view the MMS on my phone.
Now I have to visit the T Mobile website, logon usng the password supplied and then view it.
Did T Mobile change something?
Or did I?
The only changes I made to my MDA Vario was that I installed the latest version of the ROM and stopped the custom T-Mobile install by rebooting it before it started doing it.
What am I missing? Do I need to conact T Mobile to activate it or... ? Do I need to install some CAB from the Extended ROM? If so, which one?
Thanks.
Nevermind, fixed now.
Need to enable "Download on home network only" and it will deliver to your phone and not to a website.
MMS Messages not being delivered
I had that exact same problem the day I came back from Ireland.
I hadn't done a thing to the phone as had been receiving MMS messages whilst in Ireland (nice and expensive!).
The phone came up with "receiving MMS Message" - but failed every time.
Looking in the log files, there was an error code..
I tried the new T-Mobile ROM and it didn't help.
Sent a message to T-Mobile Customer Services explaining the error and giving theme the error code(s) in the log files - they replied saying "we couldn't find anything wrong" - but it was suddenly fixed !!!!! hmmm.
Contact T-Mobile ask them to look into it.. probably a setting on your account.

How did you get to enabling to 'Download to home network' option so that MMS messages come to your phone directly rather than website?

Email app from android

Hey guys, I'm currently using the default email application but it's kinda disappointing? I hit refresh many times but I don't know why it doesn't load? Anyone facing the Same problems?

+1
The Samsung build of the email client keeps forgetting my Exchange server settings per issues 4980 and 4866 on the android project page
Kinda hope that the project Email app may have solved this...

And you don't have any error message ?
I had a problem on my exchange account but I had an error like : error while connecting to the server in yellow
Then I had the problem on my hotmail account. The number of mail in the first screen was increasing but when I was entering this accoutn I couldn't see anything. I was on rom JFF
But then I flashed with JM2 and I don't have any problem of sync anymore for the mail.
after flashing jp3 I couldn't sync mails (imap and exchange) anymore via umts (yellow box: error while connecting). No problem using WLAN.
I found, that the APN settings got partially lost. I only had "wap" and "mms". Adding "internet" with settings for my provider solved the problem.
Check if your APN are complete:
Home screen -> Menu -> Settings -> Wireless and network -> Mobile network -> Access Point Names

sorry i dont understand what is all this flash jp3 or what not? .. it sounds so technical to me :X what am i supposed to check again? Apparently my other email acct is fine, just the windows live isn't. The windows live email acct reflects that new email has been downloaded but I just can't seem to view them. My view is stuck perpetually at 31/7/10
Don't worry about JP3 or APM
If you are able to download mail from an other account it means that the confi is OK
I had the same kind of problem with hotmail but I didn't manange to understand why it was forzen. Still doewnloading mail but not displaying them
I fixed this by "flashing" a new ROM in the phone . The rom is called JM2
If you don't know about ROM and flash and don't want to get into technical stuff ... you will have to wait the update from samsung and use a 3rd party app.
You can use K-9 for instance. It's not that easy to configure ( at least for microsoft excahnge account ... maybe it's easier for hotmail)
There might be otehr mail app but the one I know are not free

MMS Hell

Hi everyone,
I'm having big issues with MMS and my GSII.
I bought it from Expansys.
I live in Australia.
I've got it running on the Telstra NextG Network.
I haven't touched it in ways Samsung wouldn't approve of.
I can't send MMS messages.
I've rang Telstra many, many times and they set this up and I turned it on and off and they sent me settings and I turned it on and off and they walked me through entering the settings manually and they transferred me to the really technical team, as high as you can go on high priority.
They told me to pull out the battery and sim card without turning the phone off, and to wait three minutes and try again and if that didn't work, to contact Samsung.
Of course, it still didn't work, and, of course, I came here.
I hope you guys can help.
:s
I'm not sure what information I need to give you that is helpful here, but I've taken some screenshots that may be related to the problem.
I'd really appreciate it if someone can help me out. I'm not sure what to do if I can't get MMSs to work.

Which error does your phone give you?
Server response error.
edit:
Just added the picture showing the error. Forgot that one first time.
I had that problem sending myself a mms. Server response error. On top of the fact that all mms coming in and out was a video instead of a picture with the stock mms.apk. I installed cm7 mms.apk and everything displays perfectly and i just sent myself a message.

Mine works fine and the only difference between my settings and yours is that I have authentication type for both Telstra Internet and Telstra MMS set to "PAP or CHAP". Try changing both these settings.
I have the same problem. After factory reset mms works for a day or two then the same error appears. I am on Rogers in Canada. All default apn/mms settings are correct.

How would I go about doing this? Sorry, I'm a bit of a noob.
Does it require rooting? I want to stay away from rooting until it's simple and fail-safe.

Try this: MMS "APN" Telestra.Internet and not Telestra.mms (since mms initiates telestra.internet
I had the same problem with T-Mobile and my sgs2. I think the problem lies with the messaging app as all was fine once I changed to go SMS, problem solved.
When I am sending MMS, I turn Wi-Fi off.
I usually add Topic/Subject and some text to my MMS.
This way my MMS sending works almost 90%.
Sometimes I have to delete MMS which is in "sending" status and try again. This way I got 100% success rate. I have no errors though. Try PAP on both Internet and MMS APN settings.
Have the same problem. Try to manually enter the phonenumber to the recipient. That works for me
hey guys, ive been trawling the internet for solutions and still cant get my mms to work (cant send or receive). has anyone got a working solution? i read somewhere that the galaxy s had a similar problem and needed a combined apn for internet and mms - does anyone have this?
(im on telstra in australia)
What a Nightmare
I also had this problem only SGS2. Bought from MobiCity and running in Australia on Telstra NextG. Unable to send MMS but all other SMS and internet working fine.
I looked up the Telstra website and entered their APN settings ... No MMS.
I looked up the Telstra settings on Ausdroid and entered these ... No MMS.
I found information on how to delete APN and put internet+MMS into a single APN as suggested for the original SGS ... No MMS. Grrrrrrrrr...
I used the Telstra website to SMS the APN settings direct to the phone ... No MMS and increasing frustration.
I sent an email to MobiCity telling them of my problem, as well as what I had already tried. They very helpfully sent me the Telstra APN settings ... which still didn't work.
I tried the suggestion mentioned here to type the phone number directly rather than use a contact from my Google contacts ... finally some success.
Then, thinking 'I'll be stuffed if I am going to lookup and type the number every time's, Installed GO SMS Pro from the Market, and it just works. Looks better, improved functionity including SMS scheduling. And Free.
It makes me think it is a problem with the stock messaging app. Anyway, thanks to the person who suggested GO SMS. Much appreciated.
I've was not able to send MMS to some contacts. It was the problem with spaces in numbers just like Outlook adds after the country code. I have cleared all spaces from numbers (via Kies) and now MMS works.
MMS error was something like 'cannot connect to server'. All settings for MMS was correct (like APN, ports, etc). SMS to a number with space works. Checked on 2 SGS2 with XXKE4 and XXKF2
I have a Hell of a nightmare as well with finding what I m looking for about MMS :
I want to change sending Priority to highest and can't seem to find a way in the SG2 menu or even with an app or MOD....
I posted a new thread on this issue.... : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16892768#post16892768
thanks for any help....
For all those who are on the Rogers network, I spoke to a tech rep yesterday and apparently it is a network bug that they are aware off and trying to fix. He said to try and input the contact numbers manually instead. I tried and it does work if you do it this way.
I am not on Telstra, but do you have the correct settings in the messaging app-settings-message centre/smsc ?
That was my prob a long time ago on my Sgs1.

I had the same problem. I had to remove the country code +61 from all my phone numbers for MMS to work. Standard MMS settings work just fine.
Big Thanks

I just wanted say a big thanks for this information. I don't have a Samsung but an HTC HD2 and it appears that I was the only person on Earth who couldn't send an MMS with my nandroid rom on the HTC HD2... or there were lots living without it. Your suggestion re "PAP or CHAP" has MMS sending perfectly on my phone with Telstra NextG. Reproduceable too as I now have my wife's HTC HD2 sending MMS as well on Telstra!

Message Center number for Nexus 4??

I am unable to send MMS, and tech support is telling me that I need to enter a message center number into my phone, however, they are stumped and so am I as to where to enter it in order to enable mms?
Google tech support is telling you this? Call up your carrier or search for its APN settings. Who's your carrier? Everything else working?

Sorry, Rogers Wireless tech support was telling me this...
He said to go to my stock messaging app and go to settings and look for a spot to enter my MMS "telephone number" -- but I didnt see an option for that in the stock messaging app.
Ok so as an update.
All of my settings are per Rogers APN and everything, checked using the *#*#4636#*#*
I turned off my wireless and tried again with the stock messaging app, and it worked no problem, so it appears the hang up is when the phone is in wifi mode?
Edit: tried again with wifi and it worked no problem, but only with the stock messaging app, not with GO SMS
SMSC is only needed for SMS. For MMS to work your APN is what matters.
Now with that out the way, does your APN specify "mms" in the APN Type field? GoSMS should try to use that as a result. Never used it so don't know all it's details
