Update, 08/30, v1.3
There is a new version of this ROM out for anyone interested, see original link in OP. I did end up trying this briefly before, I will give it another shot this weekend I think.
Maybe some changes can even be merged with XDA Special.
From what I understand the "T Roaming" menu was removed/changed - this is something I asked about when we first started working with WanHu ROM.
Also a message I get all the time about network time not being set has been removed.
And there is mention of the radio volume being fixed.
Not sure what else has changed ....
Original Post v1.1:

I can't seem to make it through the registration process to download this as even with the Google translation I am missing something on the registration page.
If anyone has more luck can you post the download here so we can try it?
Thanks!

5. support hardware decode for h.264, galley camera record app are official moto apps all works good

Is this rom based on motoroi like wanhu? how about the haptic feedback, tv-out and other features of wanhu, are those things supported in this rom?

Man too much stuff going on for XT720..!
I think this one will be on hold as all our Devs are working simultaneously working on 2 ROMs as of the moment.. But i would be interested on how this differs from the other ROMs that we've had..

like another version of wanhu 2.2.1 rom, haptic feedback is working good, havent try tv out dont have 3.5mm cable here
dont have pre-installed keyboard and fc on market whenever i try to run it
korean ocr
claim fm radio is working but i didnt try it
media button is working and switching between camera and video recorder normally
number format in dialer is correct but does not support ussd

Interested to see if any modifications of Settings menus have been done in this one vs. Wanhu's - like if the SKT menus are gone.

How about the performance and speed? in comparison with wanhu and cm6 rom? what do you think?

How about telephony from SKT Mobile?
USSD? APN settings in settings.apk?

"included motoblur launcher"
Ported to non-motoblur or just HeLauncher with the MotoBlur-skin?

Don't know of any Wind Canada supported codes to try. Not something we normally use.

Just try to send *100#.
If it will try to call -then ussd not working, if will be "sending ussd" message - than working.
Btw, can you mirror it, cause i can't understand chinese symbols on registration...

From China i downloaded version 1.3 + themes. Not tested!
Good luck. Download it here:

Updated FW release for FROYO (DDJP4 <----- DDJP2)

I am using a tweaked version of DDJP2 on my Galaxy 3. My Kies just showed a firmware update version:-
PDA:JP4/PHONE:JP2/CSC:JP4
Edit: Indeed this the latest Froyo update for G3 users in India. Early reviews suggest this is a bugfix; camera doesnt crash, Swype is working.
To answer my own question :
It is the latest build for India. BaseBand is DDJP2 but build is DDJP4. No information on the changelog though
Looks like Samsung India released new update!!
Check for camera bug. Is it there or not??
Check languages are available in swype or not????
If anyone has updated to this firmware, please share your experiences here...
Anyone who has tried this please tell us that is swype working
Maybe samsung has released a new UPADTE.ZIP(MAYBE) and if it is so we can try to get recovery working on stock roms(cwm is a lot better but stock helps!)

No camera bug
I could swype "Hello"
I5801DDJP4.7z (96.73 MB)
NVKDM4DCK7 on multiupload
wat about sound distorsion issue..? i.e. if u lock/unlock screen while listening to music, sound is disturbed.
Can you Give me link to download
please can you give a download link cuz KIES as usual is not updating it so asking...
And you mentioned that you could type "Hello" using swype so after that did it failed to work and what all change did you notice
Sorry got the link as you had given it above
Please tell about the performance improvement
Link to flash : http://www.megaupload.com/?d=G7K7OPTJ
In the stock upgrade as given in the link multiupload.com/NVKDM4DCK7:
1) Swype is still working like it should. It looks like an improvement over previous Indian release
2) Camera is also working. I snapped few pics on click as well as by holding and focusing and the camera didn't crash
3) I didn't check for sound distortion issue on stock firmware
I rooted it, added live wallpaper and flashed fugumod 2.4b3 800Mhz (featured):
Sound is working (checked after fugumod 2.4b3 install), I played MP3 in default soundplayer and locked the screen with power off button, nothing specific my ear could sense.
Overall it seems like a bugfix release for Indian users

Check camera after enabling gps and location setting.
It usually used to crash when location services or gps is on.
I.e. The geotagging was causing the crash.
Check for this version and report back.

No Idea ;-)
I've customized a lot over stock now
Root (SuperOneClickv1.5.5-ShortFuse)
deodexed app and framework (xUltimate-v2.2.6 by xeudoxus)
Busybox 1.18.4 (Stephen - Stericson)
JIT (ARMV-DEV-TEAM)
Live Wallpapers (ali_alex & slumpolo tutorial on xda forums)
fugumod 2.4 Beta 3 800 Mhz (featured edition) - fugumod-i5800 project
app2sd v2 (kyrillos13)
Patch for Malware (DroidDreamKiller by Chris Ravenscroft)
The thing that I'm using now: multiupload.com/EK8VWJSAOP
if you want to flash it, be careful with fs.convert/fs.current and /etc/init.d/S01_app2sd-v2
if the combination is not right it doesn't work
Or to be safe just flash over the stock kernel
After very extensive use i charge my phone every night anyway
Just added
5-lockscreen
and zipalign
Will upload the rom soon..
This update is fairly stable rom
I modded the andorid.policy.jar and framework.jar for 5-lockscreen and power menu & it is working
and only one more post to go

[ROM] Gomez MIUI Final version Multilanguage (special thx to oyang06 and Khal)

Hi all,
New version is online now, additions:
- Wireless Tether
- Extra reboot options
- Android Ad Free (Anti Advertising app you have to configure yourself)
- anCorder (Camcorder app records 720p at 19fps)
To everyone, the bug with the MMS problem and no signal problem is allso described on ITFUNZ.COM by our chinese XT720 friends so this problem is present in the MIUI Final by oyang06. There is a fix described but my chinese is not so good ;-P
This is a BETA Multilanguage version!! Not a final version!! It is based on the MIUI Final by oyang06.
Hereby i give you MIUI Final version (by oyang06) with multilanguages installed. The following languages i was able to put in:
Danish, English, German, French, Polish, Dutch, Portuguese
No suc6 with other languages yet.
When you have changed the language reboot once to get everything in your preffered language!
MIUI Camera (works but only records 720p at 16fps)
Added CameraMoto from Milestone (No HD recording and only 5MP camera)
Added file manager and digital clock.
Its a clean original version.
If you have any problems let me know, i did not do a full test run of this ROM.
Here's the link:
http://www.multiupload.com/UBJBVSQWT6
When you have restored the nandroid wipe Dalvik cache, Cache, and Data before you reboot!!
Enjoy hope you like it!
Greetz Gomez.

Model: Nexus S?
Can somebody check and report back or just tell me if the model name is Nexus S in settings/system/about phone? my v3 states it. It caused me problems setting up setcpu profiles. Thank you.
I don't know about this ROM, but Kahls latest MIUI (based on beta 5) is set up as a Nexus S in the build.prop. For SetCPU you can place a text file in the root of your SD card with the desired (supported) frequencies & then select custom frequencies when you set up SetCPU (show other frequency sets, custom).
thanks a lot Gommers for posting, it's really fast. thanks also to oyang and khal.

Thanks for this bud. I see it's missing the extra reboot options including the very handy quick reboot. Also my model number states milestone xt720 so that should be fine I think. I have my gmail and email and logged into my google they aren't missing. I still see chinese in some areas.
**edit**
I think you rushed this bud, missing things and this is oyang06 rom with special thanks to you for the multilanguage right? It still has a lot of chinese I can't tell you where it all is. Probably should have waited for Khal's then added multi language as you did with the other release huh? Good effort but I will wait for khals

Hi
I have a little issue with Email app. Once I entered the settings for an account, on the screen, it is said "Loading messages" (or something like that) over and over again but my messages are never displayed. Is this specific to me or someone else has already encountered this issue ?
Just flashed this rom. looking good so far.
when i restored it on open recovery one of the activity lines (or whatever u call it) stated
'can't mount dev/block/mmcblk0p2
invalid arguement'
i have a fat 32 and swap partition only..because I don't like using app2ext. Is this cool?

[Rom] WanHu's rom Froyo (TV out works)

since the CBW's Official froyo doesn't solve
-TV out (3.5mm A/V analog ) function,
-media button not works
-radio volume issue
-app2ext
i Recommend you try the WanHu's rom
-this rom is base on official Korean Froyo and Dexter's
-the rom is make by a Chinese Developer with the ID call wanhu (万户)
I personally think that this ROM is best for me
-if you want to use TV OUT over 3.5mm jack ,it requires the stock 2.1 south east Asia or Singapore version (STR_U2_01.18.2_UCASHLSTABB1B4DEMA033.0R_USASHLSTBSTARSG_P016_A013_HWp3_1FF.sbf) installed first ,.other 2.1 sbf don't work For 3.5mm TV-out ,
- Use the Milestone Overclock version 1.4.2 it works stable at 900 Mhz , 59 Vsel
-i notice that Old market can't update ,one of the reason (Maybe) is when you type your google account after you finished type your password don't hurry to press the next button yet...see what's change with your user name ? my situration is everytime i finished typing pw..my user name has add a "g" letter..very wired but after recorrect the username you can run the market and update..
-swap kernel supported i can use fastboot to boot fj's kernel. but sometime get reboot by itself..maybe bcoz of my class2 16 g sd card problem..coz i test with my 8G C4 card..it never happened
-this rom is also good for those who want to use Simplified Chinese in language ,coz most of the roms don't have that..only traditional..
-this rom also good at CDMA network SMS sending, many roms have this problem ,at least is China .you send English or Chinese SMS to a CDMA handset user, the get symbols like this is message ...#^@%^&%$&#$..but with Wanhu's rom you don't have to worry about it ..

Oh, hell yes! Excellent! I've been thinking lately that Dexter made a wrong turn when he gave up on the Korean ROM and started porting everything from the A853. My stupid thanks button has me locked out from yesterday. I'll be back in 24hrs to click your buttons!
Haptic feedback feels like 2.1's.
FM Radio works.
Media key works.
Magnifier during cursor positioning works.
But, haven't figured out how to change the keyboard back to qwerty yet. Definitely the right foundation.
[oops this one was wrong thread]
I've just loaded this ROM. Hmmmm.....
Okay, how do we combine the two, this one with Cincinnati Bell's?
I think we may have a winner if we do!
Wow! Thanks for this great ROM! It still has a few bugs, but it's lightning fast and superb to work with! I haven't even overclocked it but it's way faster than MIUI overclocked! Thank you so much for this ROM WanHu!

Logcat is disabled. That makes this ROM unusable for development
Pretty sure logcat is disabled by default on all ROMs, including stock. You need to enter the service menu (*#*#2846579#*#*) and turn it on there.

Nope. That's not true. I have never run across ROM, that has logcat disabled and I tried a lot of ROM-s, believe me (stock and custom ones). Only with this one I get error message Unable to open log device '/dev/log/main': No such file or directory when I type logcat in console.
It seams that this is due to disabled logcat by the kernel. So if someone can switch that on or change kernel, that would be great.
Oh and *#*#2846579#*#* code don't work for me either. Maybe it works on some other Huawei model, it sure don't work on Huawei U8800 Pro with MIUI-112160 on board.

My experience with the stock ROM leads me to believe it is, but that's anecdotal. I have logcat happily working on my U8800Pro, though (Huawei 2.3.6 ROM, which is similar to stock, I must add, though). That-Guy's guide also makes a point of telling you to turn it on for zergRush to work, which relies on logcat.
The Chinese ROM post is lacking in details, but if we look at genokolar's source, you can see that the driver is told to read a setting from the modem to decide whether to enable logging (actually, genokolar's set it to always enable logging but with a stock kernel it reads that setting). Guess where you can set this modem setting? That's right! From the ProjectMenu, designed to edit a bunch of Qualcomm (modem) settings, that appears with a stock ROM when entering *#*#2846579#*#*.
It seams that this is due to disabled logcat by the kernel. So if someone can switch that on or change kernel, that would be great.

You can check if the actual logging function is disabled entirely in the kernel by doing "zcat /proc/config.gz | grep CONFIG_ANDROID_LOGGER". If it returns no, then it has been removed from the kernel. If it returns yes, then the setting needs to be toggled as per the above and That-Guy's guide.

Yeah... try with the stock ROM. Either this ROM is lacking the ProjectMenu.apk and MMI_Test.apk in /system/app or it needs to be run in another manner (genokolar adds an entry to the Settings apk in his CM7 ROMs).
qwerty12, thank you for comprehensive instructions and explanation. I'll check that next time if I have troubles with logcat. For now I guess I'll be using geno's Miui.us-1.12.16 witch serves me very well and has no issues with logcat.
Just hope that geno will make new version soon.

I checked "zcat /proc/config.gz | grep CONFIG_ANDROID_LOGGER" command, and it says: CONFIG_ANDROID_LOGGER=y.
I guess that means that logging is enabled by kernel It just need to be turned on. But unfortunately (*#*#2846579#*#*) code don't work. Is there any other way to enable logging?

ICS AOKP ROM for the u8800

This is an AOKP ROM for the u8800. It is ported from Huawei Honor B977 4.0.3. I'd like to know if anyone else has tried this and what they think. It's a chinese rom from the anzhi forums (original thread)
I flashed this ROM just now ( thanks fjsferreira for the mirror), this is my feedback:
- Fast, smooth (on par with Aurora).
- Wifi, mobile data, bluetooth, and the like work.
- No gapps, Play Store, camera, browser...(you pretty much have to install everything yourself).
- No strip unicode in the Mms.apk.
- Popup notification support in the Mms.apk.
- Cool AOKP tweaks (naturally...).
- No theme-chooser (meaning you'll have to stick with the mix of Touchwiz 5, ICS and lots of tranparency that is the UI).
- Long pressing the Home key doesn't show the multi-tasking interface and doesn't take you to the Homescreen.
- The SEARCH key is set to turn off the screen (to revert it to its normal function (searching!), check this post).
- I'll add more feedback information as more people try it and report.

Make sure the system folder fits in your system partition. I think you need to chacge the partitions in order to flash this, but I'm not sure. Our phone's default system partition is 210 mb
Has anyone tried it? Or have mirror?
I would love to give a try, but download time shows me 18 hours...
I have tried the previous ver actually..... Partition is a must, otherwise phone wont pass Huawei logo. Its ported from Huawei Honor ...every thing works well but Home key does not work..... But be aware some time it happens that you cant return to stock partition and you wont be able to Flash official 2.3 or Froyo ROM back.

I haven't tried that way, you can try once.... All 4.0 official ROM designed for U8800 PRO also officially they have made .app file for changing the partition to install ICS so i doubt it will work.

Actually this version is much smaller (109MB) than the previous (180MB), so it may not need re-partitioning. It has a ".UP" suffix so maybe it is an update flashable only and you need the previous installed, but I can't know since I cannot download it. It just goes soooooo slowwww....

I know, right? I left the computer on and went to the beach but when I came back the file only had 86mb out of the 109mb...I'll have to try again tomorrow, since it will probably take some 4 hours to download.

If you guys use something to stabilize the download, like free download manager, speed is always above 800 KB/s (I've just finished my download, took less than 3mins)
http://i.imgur.com/5kkae.jpg
EDIT: anyway, here it is
https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B4ZMZwAV0MEaVUUzMjRDM2JyXzg
(I didn't try this ROM yet, and probably won't, Aurora is completely stable for me right now)
Well, just went ahead and tried the ROM. From my 10 minutes playing with it, everything seems to work, wifi, mobile data, bluetooth and camera (camera isn't included by default, you have to install one).
Also, no market by default, you have to manually edit the zip file and include the market apk in it.
Sadly I had to uninstall it after 10 mins because, and I'm seeing this more and more, the dev completely screwed up the UI... it's simply horrible, it's not default AOKP at all... He made a complete mess with icons from samsung, an horrible background in every app, horrible popups and menus, etc... I didn't like that at all. I didn't even took the time to create screenshots, I'm sorry, because it was burning my eyes...
There are some stuff completely in chinese, in the ROM control area of the settings, but overall, you can choose any language that Android includes. Note, while the theme of the UI isn't AOKP, the ROM itself is, with the usual settings AOKP provides,
Performance wise, I saw no difference than with aurora...
