Who loves their GALAXY S2? - Galaxy S II General

Just wanted to make a thread to see how many people with accually answer.
The Galaxy S2 is by FAR the best android phone i have ever had,and i've had quite a few!!
AM WANT TO MAKE LITTLE SGS2 BABIES WITH THIS PHONE!!

pointless thread but agreed, this phone is the nuts!
VR + some ninpo magic makes it fly

It's my very first Android device, and at first I thought "OMG, amazing device *like*"
Now I got it for about ~2 1/2 months, and with every day I love it more
IMO this thing is as close to a complete PC as laptops are to desktops, i.e. there is just *SO* much one can do with it (esp. talking things that go way beyond just using apps )

Ita an amazing phone. Really I fall in love with my SGS2.

Its no more pointless than a moaning thread! the forum is full if moaning so all the users who are happy with the device have as much right to express it as those that have problems. I love my GS2

Galaxy Nexus Goodbye Thread!

Well guys, this may be it. I'm probably going to buy a G-Nex tonight, if not, sometime this week. I've had a great experience here. My first android phone was the DINC and it will be remembered....as my new MP3 player... Sad yet great day! Thanks to all the Devs! Hope to see some of you over at the G-Nex LTE forums!!!
Also, everyone else feel free to use this as a home for your goodbyes!
Same here! I loved my Inc, got it on launch day shipped.
Also same here - I'm thinking of passing it on to my son, who is too young for a phone but loves to game on it. Anyone know of a ROM that is specifically designed to turn it into a sort of aPod?
How would you be able to get one tonight? It releases tomorrow. I'm getting one too probably tomorrow.

There isn't a ROM for that, but there is a WiFi only script in the Dev. section, let me go find it for ya.
EDIT: here it is:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1217038

Excellent - thanks!
Goodbye DINC forums, I've been such a fan for so long. Thank you so much to all the Devs who made the DINC so awesome to have that I kept it way past my upgradability timeframe. I'm off to Galaxy Nexus land but I'll still be around since I now have 3 DINCs I have no idea what I'm going to do with.
I got it! Best phone ever.

Picked up my Nexus last night too. Thanks for all the help, guys hope to see some of you over in the Galaxy Nexus forums.
Got one as well! Hopefully some of our great devs migrate over with us!
Ah DInc, you were a great phone, and because of that I've met a ton of great people in the community. My DInc will be my glorified MP3 player for my car.
I've learned a lot here, since it was my first Android device. I'll miss it here, but you can find me in the Galaxy Nexus / HTC Flyer / Xoom forums.
I'll stop back from time to time, see how things are going!
Mr Skyraider, Jermaine, McD, 'Stang, Newtoroot, and all the devs and others, thanks for doing what you do. See you on the Nexus forums or in future endeavors!

Not good enough
I went into Verizon yesterday to look at the Galaxy Nexus and I just wasn't impressed enough to spend the money. Oh well, maybe the next big phone release will be too irresistible. The whole game playing with the release date changing so much just left a bad taste in my mouth too.
I too, am joining the Galaxy Nexus crowd! It's been a great year and half everyone, hope to see all of you around GN forums!

Goodbye Galaxy Nexus
Well,
After 26 days of owning not one, but 3 Galaxy Nexus phones, I have returned mine as the problems I had with the call quality/signal strength and the phone constantly muting itself during calls, have made me not want it anymore. Yes it was a beautiful device, had great speed, an awesome screen, and a lot of other things, but it didn't live up to what a phone is meant to be, a PHONE!. I know that there are software updates coming out to all of the folks with this phone and I hope that you get your issues resolved by it, but I simply couldn't justify keeping it for what I paid. So now back to an old phone for me until something works out!
Former Inc owner with a Nexus now. Unlocking and rooting the phone was easy. Haven't had a chance to flash anything on it yet but the roms look great. I dunno making the switch was easy for me.

same for me,digging my rezound
I have a rezound, an OG Droid and just picked upa Dinc for the hellovit from a cousin...I cant tell you how impressed I am at the speed and feel of the dinc. I had a tbolt too for a while and the dinc feeps way faster and battery life is magnificent with an evo 2000mah battery in it. May activate the dinc one day just for $h1ts and giggles....

How is the Rezound? I'm not up for an upgrade till April, but I'm between the Rezound and GNex... I'm leaning for for the gnex due to the problems they've had rooting the Rezound

Goodbye!

Today is a sad day for me, I no longer own an HTC Legend. I've moved on to a Galaxy S II, so if you own one of those you'll probably see me around there before long.
If one's thanks meter is a measure of their "success" on XDA, then I owe 80% of mine to the Legend community. You guys are awesome. I've learnt everything I know about Android through owning the Legend, and through the guys that are part of this small community.
I'm not gonna milk this any more than I already have, so farewell Legend!
All my projects for this device are officially ending, as I don't own a device that I can test it on.
Good luck furthering your Android career! Your projects around this bend were ones I greatly appreciated, but everyone's time must come for this device.
Have fun with the SGSII!

Yeah, I was tempted to wait it out, but the lack of a functional USB port on my phone was killing me. Lol

Farwell, thank you for all your work here
It seems that we both switched devices the same day i got my hands on a almost brand new Nexus S and its awesome
But I will also miss my old legend
Goodbye! Thank you for all your contributions to the Legend Subforum
I can really understand you that you leave us because of the broken USB of your Legend.
I am also thinking about getting a new Phone, but I'm a student and my car also eats a lot of money And right now my Legend has only a few scratches, the Battery "backholding door" is a bit broken (one hinge is missing there, broke because it fell down from my desk) and the Flashlight LED is broken for some reason i don't know.
And it really sucks that i've got no S-OFF anymore...
Another reason for buying a new phone is that i noticed that my legend is really slow, even compared to my Girlfriends Galaxy Ace...
Tnx for everything.

Yes, thanks Grammerfreak, we are gonna miss your contributions.

Cost and time basically. They cost too much, and they're too difficult to find. I'd rather have a nexus, but the galaxy s2 is a good phone too. If my legend wasn't broken I'd have waited it out, but a broken phone forced my hand. I wouldn't get a Motorola because they're such a pain to hack, and I have no experience with the evo. The general impression I get is that it's pretty decent, but don't take my word on it.

I really like it. It's quite surprising how much faster than the Legend it is actually. I never felt that my Legend was particularly slow, so it was a bit of a shock. Lol
My situation was a bit unfortunate, and if my Legend was still working I'd have waited it out too. But hey, such is life. Development on the S2 is pretty active, so hopefully I'll be happy with it for a while. I miss my Legend though, the S2 forums are almost too active -_-

Living with the Galaxy Note: Thoughts After 5 Days

Friends,
I thought I should share this review video I came across. I have gone through so many galaxy note reviews, but this has been straight up the best. Really feel connected, and I think a lot of the galaxy note current users who love the phone would connect with the review a lot.. and those who are still thinking of buying a Note, definitely check it out.
Excellent review but you should have posted it in the review thread, I can smell the Ganja...
Interesting. I've come to the stage with the SGS2 where I need to gift it to my partner & get a new phone, it being a bit small now it seems to me. I've wondered about the SGS3 but that may not be a lot bigger, 4.65 rumor? So bottom line, the Note is really OK for everyday use?

the Note is supreme, the one to rule them all...The only thing I can see missing is IR port, so it could be used as a TV remote, then it would have been the complete phone..the ultimate..
Ericsson P800 had everything, it was supreme...crappy screen and touch function, but not far from the best.

So great that my Archos Tablet is lying on my table and I nearly don't use it anymore

Upgraded from SGS2 last week (loved the S2) for the screen... VERY happy!
Why must all you note users taunt me D:! My paycheck isn't until this Friday!

Goodbye to an amazing phone

I am giving up my Note.
I pay for my father's phone and his current one has died on him. Because his sight is getting bad he wanted a 'phone like mine' with a massive screen.
I have considered the Note 2 as a replacement or the S3 but am being swayed by the Sony Xperia T as I take a lot of photos on my phone and the camera was my only point of contention with the Note - the camera hardware/optics aren't that great.
Regardless, I'll be visiting another forum soon so I just wanted to say thanks to Chainfire, Dr Ketan and everyone else who has made owning a rooted Note such an amazing experience!

Basically we are so much emotionally attached with community so can't leave without saying see off. Just take it easy, I know other point of view too. But emotion is always beyond the control of we human beings.
So it's ok, may one common thread can be started to say goodbye to all or such kind of thread should be reported by op himself after some period to keep forum clean.

Don't want to start any flaming but my main reason for saying goodbye was to thank those who give their time, free of charge or depending only on donations, to make our phone experience better.
Most people understand the sentiment of thanking someone for having a positive impact on their lives and experiences, but if you don't subscribe to that then just don't contribute!
My next phone will probably be the Xperia T, if I can handle the reduction in screen size that is. My Mrs has just got an Xperia S and its a great phone, the stock software is the best I've ever seen on a phone, build quality is excellent. Thing is things are just getting great with the Note development wise, so will be sticking here at least until the price comes down a little on the T.
Oh and another reason to get a Xperia T - Codeworkx has got one.
Enjoy your new phone, nothing like being new phone happy.:highfive:

I got the Xperia T in the end. So far so good - the half an inch less screen makes a BIG difference but the T is great and once I'd stopped using the Note for a few hours I didn't miss it so much. The camera is just amazing. I RDP to my PC quite a lot and was worried the smaller screen would be an issue but nope, it's fine, so I know it will be fine for everything else too.
This will be my last post in this forum because I can't be bothered with the likes of abhinav and because I'm moving on to pastures new.

This phone is WAYY better than my nexus 5.

Absolutely loved my nexus 5. Was a great phone but I wanted a bigger screen. I really thought about the OPO for a while and finally pulled the trigger. Two days in and in couldn't be happier. Battery life is insane, camera is so much better, feels way lighter, double the storage, and I got it for the same price I sold my nexus for.
Only cons I see so far is 3rd party accessories are lacking big time and doesn't seem to be as many ROMs but stock rooted is working great for me anyways. So glad I went this route.

Just be patient. Due to the whole invite system, these phones are not that popular at the moment. Once they will become easily available for everyone, I'm sure the accessories market will explode.
As to the "slim offer" of ROMS you're refering to... You should have another look really, as there are quite allot of them.
i hope so, cause the nexus 5 is couple years old.

Came from a Nexus 5 myself which is in my opinion one of the greatest smartphones ever made, so I had high hopes for this and it hasn't let me down. Although I did love the feel and size of the N5, the OPO simply outclasses it in every category. I may even keep this phone as my backup when the Nexus 6 drops instead of selling it towards the purchase cost. Although I love my OPO I'm definitely getting that ish, I've been dreaming of a Moto-made Nexus for years. And if I don't I still have the next best thing
