True, but Apple doesn't pay for its OS, it actually makes it, unlike Google, they bought it, shoved a bunch of stolen tech from other companies, repackaged it as "Google invention" and gave it away. Remeber, MS is making the bulk of manufacturers pay them between $5 and $10 per handest, then you add in Apple's cut, RIM's cut, Oracle's cut and whomever else's cut from each phone sold and you see their profits decline even further. Also MS makes more money off Android than Google does in Ads, kind of sad isn't it. To me Android does not make any sense to hang onto as a manufacturer, its not a viable and sustainable OS, its fragmentation is a joke, and the security is laughable. The only reason they sell these cheap plastic knockoffs are because of two reasons, and two resons only, first its free or darn cheap and second, it's not made by Apple. In its simpliest terms, that is the only reasons why.
Android sold people on the fact that it is so called open and free, its not, at all, but most people bought into that idea. Why? because Google told them so, so people beleived it. Truth is, Android is the worst Mobile OS in history when it comes to fragmantation, malware, trojans, viruses, and a slew of other problems. More so than ANY phone on the market, worse than Windows Mobile. Heck, I'd go as far as to say Android is neck and neck with the windows desktop OS when it comes to security threats and like I said, its the ONLY mobile OS to have this big of a problem. If you call having to install an anti-virus program on a mobile free and open, then you can have it.]

I don't really wanna point and laugh. There is no way they are going to ignore the android users that to the same thing. Eventually, this type of thing may come Sprints way.
I hope not, I can't remember the last time I tethered.. but would still hate to have it taken away from me. I surely will not pay 30$ a month for it.
I think it might be important to point out that this is not just an iphone thing, but any customer with a tether capable phone.

People will always complain and complain and complain, that's how society works. I had a guy that called in to cancel his account a few days ago because his phone wasn't working. After ranting and screaming he said "you know what, all the **** that happened in Japan and i'm pissed off over a phnte? I'll just go buy a phone, im not cancelling, im sorry man" and hung up the line.
There's so much **** going on in the world and yet people complain over their 3G speeds being "slow" or Sprint not releasing a good phone at MWC, or the Echo (even though nobody's used it).

UPDATE: Based on user comments that some users are getting the message that don't tether at all, it looks like AT&T is targeting users who have high data usage. As it turns out, MyWi shows up as 0 tether bytes

the respective release dates from over a year ago are essentially irrelevant to current updates.
I think the Evo guys are gonna be pissed if we get it first. I had both phones, but I hope the Epic gets it first, cause it deserves it after all the BS with 2.2
no seriously... EVO is pretty much taken care of... they have CM7 do they not, so they are skipping the stock GB part...? I think the ONLY reason we are getting GB is because of the FroYo disaster... so if they get their panties in a bunch... well thats entitlement issues... then we can see who is investing in quality hardware (Epic) and who tried to by the most expensive, unnecessarily hard to get, cellular penis.

Everything isn't a conspiracy nor are all manufacturers out to screw you. Things happen...mistakes occur....updates are delayed as a result. We'll either get it or we won't. The issue with Android is that its the first of its kind...its an OS in the hands of several manufacturers and it gets updates fairly regularly. iOS is one one manufacturer...Apple. Its easy for them to keep devices current. RIM is Blackberry...they can focus on theirs. Windows isnt as widespread nor do updates come out as regularly. Android is everywhere. It's not easy to stay current. End all this entitlement crap you people have got. Purchasing a device expecting it to stay relevant and current is retarded. I'm glad we got froyo...ill be happy if we get GB but I won't lose sleep....don't expect anything past that. But I've got my Nexus S and hopefully that will ride as far as the hardware will allow.

dude i love fox news. and i switch between the epic and evo on a weekly basis. i simply do a trade over craigs list. their are things great about each phone. the 8mp cam is higher then 5mp, the epic has a better screen.. apple sues samsung over tw... so does that mean that users of epic really want an iphone or so says apple...

To be fair, from what i understand from reading, the legal system is too slow to react to a new device launch. In other words Samsung could blatantly copy a feature and still get it launched before the courts could act. It would be nice if that excuse wasnt valid but i feel it may be legit.

Well, let me ask you this.....how long have you known that Samsung was going to be bringing the SGS3 to the US? That being said, don't you think Apple is to blame for the "slow reaction" of the court system being that they didn't file a motion against the SGS3 until the day before last weeks hearing? My logic is that Apple should have gotten on the ball and made their move to stop this launch as soon as they heard about it.....but i'm glad they procrastinated

In her order on Monday, the judge said Apple would have to request a new hearing date if it wanted to stop sales of the Galaxy S III phone. That likely would not take place before the phone's scheduled launch.

Well yeah, it's a rare person who wouldn't abuse a stupid law if it made them rich enough. That makes most everyone a hypocrite (as long as you suppose extreme enough circumstances) and rather nullifies the point of calling anyone by the h-word.
Actually, if I (sorta broke) took the time to submit a patent, then defend this patent mine or not would be smart. Now in Apples case, they already have more money than they need (greed is legal), makes them look pathedic, period.

Yes, You could be right. Maybe I will give one of the others a try. Had Nexus One, Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4. Last Windows Phone was (Windows Mobile 6.1) not too fond of that. Never hurts to try. Nice suggestion mate!

Why is everybody bent out of shape? No money was exchanged in this deal at all, it was corporate synergy at its best. The reason Google went with KitKat was because KitKat bars are the Google teams favorite chocolate bar and they wanted to acknowledge that. They asked KitKat for their permission and 24hours later they agreed and decided to take it a step further and launch a campaign around the idea.
Google gets more recognition for android with the non techie people because more of them will actually know about the new android updates and their naming scheme. You can just imagine regular people wanting to know what the next android "flavor" will be, and they might actually start demanding updates and force the hands of the carriers and manufacturers because more people will actually care about them. Hell, Google might even make this a yearly thing and if it goes well we might have companies clamoring to be "The next big update" kind of like how people wait to see who the next Bond is going to be, but on a smaller scale.
KitKat will get marketing practically free, and have an association with the most popular mobile OS in the world. They now have permission to use Andy the android in their commercials, and if you go to the KitKat website you can see what I'm talking about. They just created an entire marketing campaign around android without paying Google a single cent

I absolutely love it. Everyone knew the android OS was being named after delicious treats.
After all, it threw a curve ball to anyone and everyone on the KeyLimePie bandwagon. I mean key lime pie does start with a K. but the word Key itself isnt essentially a "Treat" instead the word "pie" is the treat. Key lime is just the flavor. You know? Just a random rant.

I got news for you guys, Google has been a for-profit organization since they got started and makes BILLIONS of dollars in profit yearly. To act like they were your favorite "indie" music band that just sold out with this move is a little disingenuous (IMHO).
Android is a mess right now as everyone is trying to abuse the open nature to install bloatware and make warped systems. Google need to take control back.

There were people with brand new ebay accounts (no feedback) trolling him by boosting up the price. I think the price was at 10k and the seller removed the auction. Probably knows he was being trolled. If you guys seriously think it would sell for such a high price then let me sell you my beach front house next to the Brooklyn, Golden Gate and Bay Bridge. I'll give you an awesome price you can't refuse.

I have 2 s5's a htc one m8 and 2 nexus 5 on the way
I choose to call this phone one piss as that is my right..
Also they should know one plus is registered to ryobi for a tool line..
almost the same logo. too bad the tools are at least decent..
