Hello there..i'm using GingerDX V005 right now..i cant set any of my mp3 songs as my notification for messenging..there are only a default notification tones in the setting...anyone of u knows how to set any mp3 songs as our notification tones without using any 3rd party software such as GO sms and etc. TQ..GOD BLESS all of u..

same Q from me

edit : sorry add by mistake

Put file in SD/notifications/
If it still doesn't appear in the sound chooser (??? ) you'll have to convert it in the format the other sounds are. I think it's ogg. Good luck.

put your mp3 file to /sdcard/notifications --> for notifications
put your mp3 file to /sdcard/ringtones --> for ringtones

You can set is as ringtone in mp3 player...

for the ringtone u can choose from media player, but i cant change the notification, altough the mp3 file was placed in notification directory
*sory 4 bad english

Copy sound:
1. For ringtones to /sdcard/media/audio/ringtones
2. For alarms to /sdcard/media/audio/alarms
3. For notifications to /sdcard/media/audio/notifications
Sound for notification must be in .ogg or .m4a format not in .mp3

I've put my desired mp3 ringtone to /system/media/audio/ringtones
This way it won't get back to a default ringtone when your memory card is detached (at file transfers from PC to phone, or at reboot)
If you want to give an mp3 as notification sound then put it to /system/media/audio/notifications.
BTW you need to reboot after this, and then your mp3's name will apear on the default list at selecting ringtone/notifications, so you just have to select it there.
Hope it helps

Mp3 as a ringtone

Is it possible, to set mp3 as a ringtone?
If so please advice how?
if you put the MP3 into the \windows\rings folder it will show up as one of your options in the dropdown menu and you can select it from there. you will probably only here about 35 sec of the song though. i cut just the sections that i wanted for mine. goodluck

Alarm Tone

I'd like to have an mp3 as my morning wake up call instead of the default alarm tones. Is it a massive issue to do this? I can't seem to find an easy way to do it. I'm assuming i'm gonna have to edit the length of the file, convert it and then save it to the /windows/rings folder?
Does this sound right?
The easy way is "Klaxon", an amazing freeware application to manage alarms with mp3 song.
Another applications is G-Alarm but I have read about some problem with HD2 and is not freeware.
In my HD2 now I use Klaxon and I like it very much.

in file manager save the mp3 as a ringtone, should show up in alarms then too (although I haven't tried)
Saving as a ringtone will not add it to the alarms list, I've tried it. I used mp3splitter to chop an mp3 up, then converted it to a wav on my PC (sorry can't remember the name of the freeware that does this, something obvious like mp3towav anyways). Once converted drop the wav into the Windows folder, it will now show up in the alarm tones list (note there is a filesize restriction, I have a file just over 4MB in size, however when I tried a longer tone that came to 8MB it didn't show).
Klaxon sounds like an easier alternative to all that though!
RE: Klaxon - does it replace the inbuilt alarms UI? By that I mean when you press the alarms button on the homescreen, does it take you to Klaxon? Can you post a link to the version of Klaxon you are using on your HD2? Thanks!
Put 'em into the root directory of the MicroSD
I have an MP3 ringtone for calls and another one for reminders... worked straight out of the box without any messing around - from the Settings tab to "Sounds & Display" to "Notification sounds".
On mine, it's able to automatically access anything that's in the root directory of the Storage Card.
Is it possible to have the alarm on continuous ring? On default the alarm rings once, stops for 10-15 seconds then rings again.

Text notification sounds

So I tried to make a sound file from my computer a text notification sound...
I dropped into the "Rings" folder in windows, it was a MP3 file, it showed up there and played. I went to go select it from the "Notification Sounds" but it wouldn't show up.
I later noticed all of the files were WMA, so I converted it did the same procedure and it still wouldn't show up for selection in there...
So idk what to do, I'm trying to basically make a custom text notification sound but its not showing as a selection once I drop it into the folder where the Alarm/Alert/ and Ringers are found... HELP!
I have my ringtones and notifications sounds on my sd card. I use phonealarm to select my profiles and sounds. Works great.
where'd u get the phonealarm app?
Its still on my device, if I were to put it all on my SD card would it work then? I'd rather just drop the file in there and select it from the Notification's selection, I'm just really annoyed with it right now been working at it for a while and nothing is coming up... I just want it to work finally lol.
I know it's a really late response, but if you want to change your sms alert tone, just copy the .mp3 into your 'Windows' folder on the device.
You should then be able to select it in the settings.
put them in application data\sounds folder and they will show up. thats how I have mine and it works fine.
I have all my sounds in the root of my SD card.
Figured out on the Touch HD that SMS/Reminders sounds needed to be .wav and not .mp3
Try to convert to .wav and drop it again.

Click to collapse
Have you tried to just copy and paste it into the "Windows" folder? Not any of the sub-folders...

different notification and ringtone

I was using the phone and saw that there was only an option for ringtone media and alarm. On other phones I own I have the option for separate ringtone and notification. Is there a way to get this.
How would it be if everyone system / media folder uploads. Of course only those who want it .
Same goes to me. Even i put my own alarm with OGG format in system/media/audio/alarm, i set permission and reboot. It also didn't show in alarm ringtone list

Vivo Z1 pro ringtones & Notifications not customizable

Craziest thing I have ever seen. In the name of developing upon the Android platform Vivo has removed the customisable notifications and ringtones. Each time the phone switches on, you have to rework all the customizations from the beginning.
Any ringtones you want to select from your personal files can only be selected from the SD card and gets erased every time the phone goes off.
I tried accessing multiple system files including downloads, music, record, others but was not able to add any ringtone files to the system default ringtone files.
Anyone here who has any ideas or success with these efforts?
Customize ringtone problem solved
Just change the ringtone formate to .ogg.
I worked for me. Put the ringtone in internal memory of ur mobile not in SD card.
And if you want to add those to ur default ringtone list then follow below steps-
1. Make a folder in your internal memory of ur mobile and name it media
2. Inside it make a folder and name it audio
3. Inside audio make 2 folders name them notifications & ringtones.
4. Put the converted .ogg files in ringtone if u want it it default ringtone list or in notifications if you want it in notification list.
That's it now all those ringtones can be selected in default list.
