[READ] Attn kernel developers - 2011-08-01 - Galaxy S II General

Hey guys,
A quick heads up. Samsung have posted kernel sources for their latest Chinese ROM release that a few people have mistaken for updated kernel sources used in the 2.3.4 builds.
!! THIS IS NOT TRUE !!
The GT-I9100_CHN_CHN.zip marked as used in I9100ZCKG4 is exactly the same source as the original EUR based kernel GT-I9100_Opensource.zip, which is a buggy release and causes random reboots.
The one the latest custom kernels are (or should be) based on GT-9100_OpenSource_Update1.zip is sources used with 2.3.3 and still the latest version we have available.
So don't go grabbing the "latest" Chinese release, as it's actually a downgrade.

CM is constantly updating its code for various OS fixes every few days. You can either use nightly builds (the name comes from the fact that for open source code people would upload their code during at night and the resulting amalgam would come out as "new" code but often unrefined so it would be less stable)
or go with the latest stable builds with minor updates to the code.

What is this rom based off of? Since the U.S. Variants aren't released yet, is this a port from the G3? Or from a Korean variant?
How do you flash when you can't root or install twrp?
No kernel source and placeholders are not allowed.
Provide GPL-compliant kernel source and something to actually download and flash, and the thread will be opened.

when we will get nougat roms?

Sorry for my excitement. But i am quiet depressed that more than 2 to 3 months have been passed but their is no nougat ROM for our device.
If someone has idea whether the making is under processing or yet to be start.please let me know.
Thanx.
i guess kernal source is released by xiaomi, very soon we should be able to see some developments on nougat roms for our devices.
At least a month, I think.

RELEASE: Tested after integrating new features, more stable than NIGHTLY. (Odexed builds)
NIGHTLY: Built daily with newest code and experimental features, might contain undiscovered bugs. (Deodexded builds)
HISTORY: Final odexded builds once a newer Android version is out and being built.
EXPERIMENTAL: Released when a new device is added or when a new feature is added for public beta testing and feedback. (Deodexded builds)
UNOFFICIAL: Maintained separately by individual developers, usually involves modification of shared code which cannot be merged (affects other devices), therefore maintained by the developer himself.
Nice thanks
History means stablest

Stock kernel Prerooted (8.1.0)

Hello community! I hope you are well, today I bring you the Kernel Stock of Motorola, prerooted and with some minimal improvements and optimizations (I will gradually optimize it even more).
The only requirements are to have the bootloader unlocked and debug usb enabled (I have not yet tested on any device with the bootloader closed, if anyone wants to try you can send me a PM).
I hope you like it, greetings and good luck!

kernel stock oreo ?
Does It work fine on Pie ROMs? (Some Oreo kernels work on Pie ROMs too)
Installed this and lost WIFI completely. Nothing I did would bring it back. So I restored the regular stock kernel and rooted it the old reliable way with Magisk 19.3.
