How About Apps2Sd

yup apps2sd works great
can you explain on how it works and how you install it?
its on the market appstosd, you can use that to format your card or you can do it manually either using the ported command or any gui.
then the app takes it from there

If you install a recovery image then that can do it for you as well. As for the apps2sd apk on the market. I had tried that but it didnt work. And when I try to follow the directions from the Dream forum that I used to follow I need Busybox. I try to install that and it doesnt work. How did you get apps2sd working?
I made a script for this a long time ago for the g1 ill try to find it

That would be awesome but does it need Busybox? That's the problem I am having. I can follow the old instructions to the t but without busybox I cant seem to do any of them.
I can't get it to work via the appstosd aol on the market. Nore can partition my 8th class 4 as card using this app. Should I just use gparted the try it. What size should the ex2 partition be?
Anyway to get this working. Ive rooted my phone and the app from the market is not working at all. Any ideas?

Same here, no dice. Blah.
im trying to get it to work now ive been messing with it if i get it ill make a guide
I installed the MDC rom, and then installed ApptoSD, worked perfectly. I know that I didnt have to use the app with the new rom, but this way I didnt have to reinstall all my apps...
Im not looking to flash any roms right now. I'm good with the stock one. If we can get the ext2 partition to mount it should work maybe?
any updates on this?
I was wondering that myself. I would like to use appstosd but don't want to install the MoDoCo stuff.
Any news on this? I also would like to use apptosd but don't want to use a custom rom.

Android Market update to 2.2.11 out

Just today hit my Evo, i'm sure everyone else should be getting it as well.
I didn't even see it coming. It just updated on its own...cool.

Anyone have a zip of this, right now my market is borked, can't get one to flash, though i know i could just flash gapps all over again, but i really don't want to to that, though there is nothing wrong with doing that.
You *should* be able to just copy the APK to your sdcard, then run it via a file manager like Root Explorer. That'll apply the update.
If it doesn't work... You're more than welcome to try CM7, flash the 1/14 gapps, then install the update. Worked perfectly for me.
Installed fine here
from my phone duh
ALL u have to do is resign it use signapktic n it should install fine then

I downloaded it to SD and went into my ES File Explorer and opened the downloads file tapped the apk and it asked if I wanted to replace system app i said yes. then I got an "application not installed" prompt.
would removing the market I have installed let the new one install?

Shouldn't. What ROM/gapps are you running? I got mine to work based off the CM7 1/14 gapps, followed by downloading the above APK and installing it from Root Explorer.
If it doesn't work check the box that allows you to install programs from unknown sources... Try that and see if it works

Well, for those who want it, there's a new official gapps update for CM7 that has Market 2.2.11 built-in:

I found a flashable for 2.2.1.1 in the themes and apps section.

System app req.

Ha ha ha!
Yeah I know have a good laugh...
So I managed to wipe out my system app lol (I'm laughing myself!).
It is the settings app (cog icon).
Anyway, can anyone help out here please?
I am running the Revolution Rom 2.5, not sure if that makes a difference or not.
Cheers,
MJ-12
System app?
Flashing a firmware should bring them back again, won't it?

Yeah I have backups, but thing is I made a lot of adjustments to the phone since my last back up, it took some time, and she is set up really nice now.
*Edit - I just thought, If I am flashing the same rom again in CWM I shouldn't have to wipe, so everything would still be as I set it up - correct?
*Edit edit - Nope! The revolution rom is a full wipe rom
*Edit edit edit SORTED THANKS ANYWAY - Found the revrom on phone as it is downloaded via rev kitchen app, wified it to the pc, extracted it, transferred the settings apk and odex to phone, root explorer copy and paste to system/apps, BACK!! Didn't even have to reboot lol. Happy bunny now
Cheers all anyway.
Backing up now LOL

Those with failing Super USer I have a 3.0 APK

Well guys im going to upload the apk i got from some post on here somewhere but it worked for me.
Just uninstall the current SU and then " INSTALL " this one. No rebooting required...
Also not my liability. I haven't noticed anything bad or out of normal. It works for me

First of all, if Superuser works for you and you have root privileges and root apps work this wouldn't apply to you.
Well, first I would go to Settings, Applications, Manage Applications, and look for Superuser.
If it is not there, then you might have to dig into ADB commands. Or just reflash ROM.

Go to the applications list and choose uninstall on super user.
Or go to the market go to my apps and then find super user click it and select un install.
From there install the 3.0 SU that I have listed and it should work for your device (varies among devices and roms).
YOU DO NOT NEED TO REFLASH ANYTHING. Just re install and it should work . It is what worked for me.
This is super frustrating it does not give me that option i guess i need to root again even though it say S if Off

Try android commander...duering install process you have choice wether to install to regular instalation (android is choosing right way...if U have ext, it will installed on ext-partition)...also U can choose to install to system/app...permissions will be detected and setted.
Did you try putting it in /system/app with the correct permissions?

Any way this version can be installed without rooting? Basically would like to have the newer version of Youtube (like the one on ICS) on Gingerbread. Thanks.

Parsing error usually just means the file is broken, either A: redownload and recopy, or B: recopy the file.
When i get parsing errors, i just plug my SD card into my laptop via an adapter not the USB Mass storage option. I noticed, while using ubuntu, that things are still happening with the drive and if you unplug it without safely removing it you will get broken files.

Oh and for the other guy, youtube is not a system app. However it may be placed in system by ROM chefs.
Okay, this still doesnt work, gives parsing error, where are you obtaining this APK from???
OK last edit, after flashing ICS, works without a problem. So its the fact were trying to put it on GB that is failing. Its prolly gonna take some serious editing for it to work on GB
