[SCRIPT][TUTORIAL] V6 Supercharger Optimization & KickAssKernelTweak! - Galaxy 3 General

I) : V6 Supercharger Tutorial
II) : Kick Ass Kernel Tweak tutorial
Hi all, I found it V6 Supercharger
This script is a complete memory management fix. More info in the original thread !
Me and some others had tested it and it works ! The phone is smoother and faster !
Note : it's recommended to delete all memory scripts before using this !
Warning ! You need a rooted Phone, and you need a kernel that supports Autostartup Scripts !
( This tuto is provided without warranty of any kind )
If you have laggs ( With or without V6SuperCharger ) see at the end of the post !
I) Tutorial V6 SuperCharger :
First of all you have to downgrade Busybox ( It might work with version 1.19, I don't know but recommended to downgrade cause of risk of bugs ! )
Use Busybox Installer and try version 1.18.2 or lower !
Then you can use Script Manager ( recommended ) or Terminal emulator (Two methods).
And you need the script(V6 update9beta3.1)
Delete .txt extension, file have to be a sh file
Just place it on your SD card.
WITH SCRIPT MANAGER :
Launch Script Manager
Search the script you placed on SD card
Slect it, and select " Run as root " ( /!\ Don't Select Run at boot ! /!\ )
Execute it
It will ask for speed, tap on screen, type 2 and press enter.
You can see now a list with 17 choices.
Recommended choices are 6 and 7 ( You can test others if you want, maybe they work better ).
So write 6 or 7 and press enter.
You will see under the list, "Current Minfrees = X,XX,XX,XX....."These are the values you've selected before.
When it's done, exit Script Manager, and browse to /system/etc/init.d with Root Explorer or equivalent.
You can see "99SuperCharger", you have to rename it in "S99SuperCharger" ( If not renamed, it will not be load at boot ! )
Now reboot your phone !
When phone rebooted, launch Script Manager and the script
Choose 0
And after list, verify that says : ( Exemple for choice 7 so, values are values from 7th choice )
Code:
Current Values MATCH Prior SuperCharge!
Current minfrees = 6,8,26,28,30,32 mb
Prior V6 minfrees = 6,8,26,28,30,32 mb
If values match, it's OK !
Enjoy !
WITH TERMINAL EMULATOR OR ADB SHELL (First Method) :
Note : Rename file script in "Script.sh" is easier
First, type su ( enter in Super User rights )
Type:
Code:
sh /mnt/sdcard/Script.sh
Select Scroll speed : Type 2 and enter.
You'll see the script with the list
Recommended choices are 6 and 7 ( You can test others if you want, maybe they work better )
So, type 6 or 7 and enter
After script done, you will see under the list, "Current Minfrees = X,XX,XX,XX....."These are the values you've selected before.
Exit terminal emulator or ADB Shell
Browse with Root Explorer to /system/etc/init.d
Rename "99SuperCharger" in "S99SuperCharger" ( If not renamed, it will not be load at boot ! )
Reboot Your phone !
When phone rebooted, launch script again,
Choose 0
And after list, verify that says :
( Exemple for choice 7 so, values are values from 7th choice )
Code:
Current Values MATCH Prior SuperCharge!
Current minfrees = 6,8,26,28,30,32 mb
Prior V6 minfrees = 6,8,26,28,30,32 mb
If values match, it's OK !
Enjoy !
WITH TERMINAL EMULATOR (Second Method)
Note : Rename file script in "Script.sh" is easier
First, type su ( enter in Super User rights )
Type:
Code:
sh /mnt/sdcard/Script.sh
Select Scroll speed : Type 2 and enter.
You'll see the script with the list
Type 15, and Enter
Type Y and Enter
Exit the script ( Type 17 )
And now, type V6 bash ( or V6 or bash V6 or sh V6 )
You'll see the script with the list
Recommended choices are 6 and 7 ( You can test others if you want, maybe they work better )
So, type 6 or 7 and enter
After script done, you will see under the list, "Current Minfrees = X,XX,XX,XX....."These are the values you've selected before.
Exit terminal emulator or ADB Shell
Browse with Root Explorer to /system/etc/init.d
Rename "99SuperCharger" in "S99SuperCharger" ( If not renamed, it will not be load at boot ! )
Reboot Your phone !
When phone rebooted, launch script again (type bash V6 in terminal),
Choose 0
And after list, verify that says :
( Exemple for choice 7 so, values are values from 7th choice )
Code:
Current Values MATCH Prior SuperCharge!
Current minfrees = 6,8,26,28,30,32 mb
Prior V6 minfrees = 6,8,26,28,30,32 mb
If values match, it's OK !
Enjoy !
II) Tutorial KickAssKernelTweak :
Just Download The script
Rename it as S98KickAssKernelTweaks ( If not renamed, It will not be load at boot ! )
Place it in /system/etc/init.d folder and reboot your phone
___________________________________________________________________
___________________________________________________________________
If you have laggs just download Script file "Cache.sh.txt" in attachement.
Remove .txt extension to have a .sh file.
Put it on your SD card, and run it with Scriptmanager ( You can do a Script widget with script manager to access it simply by homescreen )
Look at here for more information : zeppelinrox's post
NOTE : You can explore other choices by yourself and / or look at zeppelinrox thread !

Hi all, I found it yesterday, V6 Supercharger
I tried it, it works, and I find phone more responsive and smooth, can anyone test it and give me feedback ?
I use Balanced 3 ( 6th choice )
After you run the script go to system/etc/init.d and ( mount system R/W )
And rename 99SuperCharger in S99SuperCharger
And then reboot the phone ( You can verify by re run the script if setings are saved after reboot )
I wait your feedbacks

busy box downgrade and it works on in5 non oc and other cfws

Trying Balanced3 with Kyrillos 6.1, G3Mod v1.3.4 Performance and busybox 1.18.2. Feels pretty snappy, I hope it's not because of the reboot or the placebo effect.

Thank you for feedbacks, for all, please say what ROM Kernel and CPU Settings you use
Yeah, use 1.18.2 !
So, Good or not ?
@arunmcops What kernel do you use ? I have it for 2 days now, and it works properly ( My Kernel: Fugumod_ BE_2.4-alpha19 ( Kyrillos V6 OC defaut ) with 1300Mhz Performances and 246 performance when screen off )

[Q] How to enable JIT in XXJPS?

Can someone please tell me how to enable JIT in JPS? I'm on stock JPS because of stability, but i think JIT will boost performance quite a bit in daily use. I see dharamg3 and kyrillos have done it in their ROMs, so can I do it and how to?
Check here.
See the second post in that link. It an easier way.
Thanks, I didn't know that this also works with jps. It says unable to push, it doesn't have permission... How do i know if it worked?

Mount as r/w first. And then push. Type following in terminal.
su
mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/stl9 /system
exit
And then push.
Or you can copy paste the same using root explorer alos.
I never had luck with those command lines and adb and stuff, but im quite familiar with root explorer, ill just push it that way.
EDIT: i was trying to download quadrant to see if it worked and now i can't instal any app from the market it say package file is invalid, tried reboot, clear market data, nothing worked
Fixed it by enabling trough adb
You can follow the link as stated above : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1026870
Steps I followed that worked for me.
1. (see 2nd post in the link above, download the zip file and unzip it) I Used root explorer to copy the files from the files folder to respective lib and bin folder in system.
2. Connected my phone through USB and using CMD i browsed to the folder JIT for example D:/JIT
3. run enable_jit.cmd (It will automatically do everything for you)
Your phone will restart and you are done

[TUTORIAL][script] Install V6 Supercharger for ACE

Hello ACE user's I proudly present you the best of the best script ever made, created by zeppelinrox.
Well, the V6 Supercharger Script is an excellent tool to fix memory management on Android 2.3, just because the Gingerbread is very aggressive in memory management.
For best details on what this script do to your beloved phone visit his thread, he doesnt say this will run in ACE but i manage and tried to install in my phone and it works fine and now i say this is the best experience since i got this phone in my hands.
here we go.
Requirements:
1. Download busybox installer from market.
2. Download script manager from market.(make sure you instal this in INTERNAL memory)
3. Download V6 supercharger latest script from the original thread here.
4. Rootexplorer and of course you must be rooted.
Steps:
1. Run busybox installer and install busybox v1.18.2 (this will downgrade our current busybox v1.18.4) we need this because v1.18.3 above will cause an error which is not. (see attached image)
2. Run and configure script manager press the MENU button and go to MORE and then in ADVANCED OPTIONS and now in CONFIG and tick "browse as root" and leave other fields un-touch and exit. (see attached image)
3. Download V6 supercharger update8 script in original thread above and put in root of your sd card. (see attached image)
4. Run script manager by default it views the root of your sdcard find your downloaded V6 supercharger script and click/touch to it another window will appear tick "run as root" then run the script. (see attached image)
5. You will see the script running first chose a scrolling speed from 1-3 by touching the screen for the keyboard to pop-up (i prefer 3 for slow so you can follow the progress) then press enter in your keyboard.
6. Now you will see an option from 1-17 it has different value each option, select option 6 (balance 3) its the best for me, you can try other options of course, now press enter after typing # 6, wait to finish the scipt from running.
7. Now type option 16 to reboot the phone, the script will autorun, thats it enjoy and fell the greatness of your phone.
To check that the script is running and working please do step 4 and 5 and see attached image encircled in red if you have the same value then your good.
Optional: loopy smoothness. Very nice script and works very will with V6.
wow, supercharger..
surely will try it
Thanks
but there's is something written there
If you want to share this, just link to this thread.
If you want to make a thread in other forums telling people about it, that's great.
But I would prefer that you do not post a copy of the V6 SuperCharger installation script in those forums.
If you already have a thread with a copy attached, I won't bother you about it. But please don't attach further updates.

Did you follow the instruction? did you install the busybox 1.18.2?
How about CF-Root? Is this compatible with CF-Root? CF-Root has busybox preinstalled...
For example, Black Hawk has busybox v.1.17.1, there is no need to instal another version of busybox.
All works, thanks.

yes, I installed busybox 1.18.2, but I error. KPN I + CF-Root v80 stocks, that is the problem?
impressions:
1. increased rate of transitions from the menu.
2. pause when awake is almost negligible.
3... in progress)
EDIT: Nevermind... nice share!
From Chainfire's note:
It is possible to install a custom busybox over CF-Root v3.0 and newer. However, this is not without risk. CF-Root makes heavy use of scripting, and many CF-Root scripts rely on the internal busybox version. If you do install a seperate busybox version (always use "stericson" installer!), install it to /system/xbin. Installing it to /system/bin will mess things up for sure. Even if you do that part right, it may still break CF-Root, so make sure to make a backup before trying.
Click to collapse
Higher version or even same version but compiled by different person (so could be have different applet compiled in) not always good for CF-Root. For an example, busybox without sh applet will break CF-Root including some user space applications.
I hit clear memory in task manager and started laughing when it showed 84 mb used, hahaha. Generally good in multitasking.

[TUT][MOD] FuguTweaks, feel the smoothness of Nexus S

Original thread here. Give thanks to nikademus
This tweak adds responsiveness on the phone. What it does is replace app_process and system_server binaries by the ones found in android 2.3.3_r1 or 3.1 (v0.2)
Note that those binaries have been compiled by me from google official source.
This has been qualified by supercurio as a taste of the Nexus S 2.3.3 smoothness.
It will not make your battery last longer or the opposite. Neither will it improve quadrant benchmarks.

As described above, this tweak will adds responsiveness on the phone, so our device will runs smoother than usual. Also, I'm just found that this tweak will reduce lockscreen-lag yeah I can feel the difference.
This tweak is tested by me on KPN + CF-Root but I'm sure it working on other ROM/firmware, as well as Froyo.
Do this as your own risk!
Always make backup before proceed!
To install, just download one of the file at the link below then flash with CWM (don't forget to mount /system).
Pick one, no need to use them all...
Download v0.1: Download now - currently I'm using this one
--v0.2 REMOVED. It's troublesome.
Manual install & backup:
With any root file manager, goto /system/bin and mount as R/W, backup the following files to your sdcard: app_process, system_server
Copy FuguTweak files (app_process and system_server) to /system/bin, replace the current one.
Set permissions to rwxr-xr-x (755) then change owner to:
Owner = 0 - root | Group = 2000 -shell
Reboot.
Changelog in the original thread.
0.1 = all files taken from 2.3.3 AOSP
0.2 = app_process only, taken from 3.0 AOSP
If your Ace went wrong:
Revert back any changes you've made with this flashable-zip:
Backup KPN
PS: ROM makers, would you give me a proper credit? because I've tested this awesome tweak on SGA

I think it's enough that you throw it into the SystemUI.apk(have a look inside that apk, if it's not there then it is in secframework.apk) (/res/.../XHDPI). Open the apk in winrar (you might have to rename it from .apk to .zip) and drag and drop the new files. Decompiling isn't necessary for this sort of thing.
Also, check this out:

I did this a long time ago so some of what I just said might be wrong, if you need more help then just say so.

Sorry, but only repeating the problems you actually have won't solve anything because it isn't really clear what you did before.
The error here seems to be a hint that your cygwin installation isn't correct.
So please try to follow the steps in my tutorial exactly. Start from scratch.

It works. I have re-installed windows ...
can you tell me how to add new info in device info? (rom name, rom maker, release date, build version ...)

No. Because you do this partly when using the kitchen step by step. Or when changing your updater-script.
The kitchen is a great help and simplifies cooking a rom - but it still is a little bit more complicated than heating baby food in the microwave. And if you really want your "custom" rom you should start to learn what happens in each step. And this can't be done by revealing everything...

Init.D tweak ( honor 8 )

Hello!
Here is a few init.d scripts that have download around google and over xda, im not take any credit at all, all the script should go to their own respective owner/creator.
Im not a fan of app tweaking, such as lspeed/hebf.
I've try some other init.d script, but most of em unstable, bootloop,..
Whats inside:
-Seeder script: increase over 3+ entropy
-Fstrim: trim system every boot ( work ). Script run monthly ( not enough time to test yet )
-Sdcard script : set to 2048 ( work )
-Flyengine by Slaid480
Remove some unstable script ( boot loop )
Inside flyengine:
Network tweak ( work )
Build.Prop tweak ( dont know if it actually do anything )
Vm tweak ( same as build.Prop tweak )
these scripts might consume more battery.
Once again all credit to their owner. I just sharing.
* backup system before install *
* i will not responsible for any damage to your device, use your own risk *

Sorry but I would say using apps like L Speed/HEBF is better. You can choose which tweaks to activate and change them on the fly. With init.d, you have to reboot to see the changes. Another thing, FlyOnMod by Slaid480 is discontinued. Which means the tweaks inside might not work nicely with Nougat, fstrim shouldn't be done every boot. Trimming should only be done maybe, twice a month.

I think you missed my point here.
1: im not fan of these app because i dont like it running in my background ( minimum as much as background process i could ) ( i do like lspeed init.D script, till dev change to an app ) also i do have the paid app named : Boosters Plus batterysaver i think that better then these. ( from my point of view )
2: youre right, init.d script need to set on rebooted, once reboot everything is set, until you rebooting again.
3: discontinued but those setting are working, direct change to the code ( i checked ) also i believe most of the tweaking app for better internet tweaking are the same, keep connection alive(kill more battery) tcp, ect, ( correct me if im wrong ) just different in number setting perfer by developer ( samething that touched the tcp and change tcp algorithms ). Also as mentioned i have removed some of em that not working on (honor 8)( bootloop ) i posted this just for honor 8.
I have search around honor 8 thread but noone mention about init.D script here.
4: fstrim set on reboot, also it included trim every month that you mentioned above ( if you keep the device on for a long period time before power went out, 1 month for example, i think this help here.
- init.D script is something just flash and go ( im lazy ), no need to open an app for setting. And avoided app's battery consuming.
- im not trying to be anything here on XDA, just shared for ( honor8 )
Thank you for your time input.
Just one more pointn @qvnsq, init.d scripts also consume memory in the background. It's just that an app like L Speed consumes maybe 5-10MB of more RAM. Thank you, too for sharing the sripts here. :highfive:

That executes faster ,init.d scripts gets executed soon after boot . But the scripts in bin will be executed while the device bootup
