pleasee help fail boot 0x01000 - Atrix 4G General

Atrix died help me .. to upgrade 2.3 my screen freezes Atrix did not respond so I decided to reposition the rsd lite 2.2 and is no longer there and I get caught "fail boot" and I can not enter rsd support

if you upgraded to the ota and decided to rsd lite / sbf flash back to 2.2 then you are hardbricked. try to see if you can boot into fastboot by turning the power on while holding volume down.

okay do not see it immediately turns off the phone menu

Sorry to say I and into this issue last night, you hard bricked your phone and to my knowledge and a few hours of trying last night are pardon my french but your screwed. I had to get another Atrix since mine wouldn't boot into a fast boot mode.

So far the only known way is to play a fool and call warranty telling a lovely story that u were updating ur phone (OTA of course) then something went wrong in the middle of the process then... BOOM... ask for a replacement.
PPL must read mainly the RED lines... there are tons of ppl bricking their phone trying to use RSD to downgrade... RSD MUST BE UNINSTALLED from your machine so you will not put ur phone in dungerous situations....
RSD should be never used... it is a tool from Motorola and regular users shoudnt mess with it.

That, my dear comrade, would be known as a Hard Brick.
A thoroughly baked brick.

i dont understand why the situation would even arise where so many people are wanting to downgrade. once upgraded to 2.3.4, wouldnt you want to stay there at all costs? i thought the update was a pretty good one from moto this time.
why are so many people going back to froyo in the first place?

I think so many people have become used to flashing back on 4.1.26/4.1.57/4.1.83 that they maybe think they need to go back and do a clean install or something. The OTA shouldn't work on a modded phone, but maybe some people just think it's normal. We have been spoiled with what the devs have given us previously, and lots of people don't read I guess. Too excited to upgrade and flash and update and flash.......

I might of bricked my phone.

Okay I messed up I rooted my phone and updated it, and I tried to take a chance to put the hero rom on my phone, and now it's stuck on the install icon. I take the battery out and try to access recovery mode and it won't get off that screen.
What happened? I was wondering if someone would help me out here. Please.
What is the "install icon"? Your post doesn't make sense... can you describe what you're seeing?
Also, can you enter bootloader by holding down the camera button while powering up?
it's a box with a phone next to it. and no it won't let me enter bootloader. the same stuff came on.

If you can't enter bootloader or recovery, then you're definitely bricked. However, simply trying to flash a Hero ROM wouldn't do that. Did you flash the new radio and SPL?
I don't understand why newbs insist on flashing straight to a Hero ROM once they've rooted... you HAVE to update to a regular ROM first in order to flash an upgraded recovery, then flash radio, then SPL, then Hero ROM.
It was totally a noob move. I'm new to this whole thing and saw this youtube video of this guy running android and hero 2.0.1 on his g1 and like wanted it so bad and now I'm paying for it cause my phone is slammed stuck.
The Hero rom actually didn't do it, it was the radio update that was given with the hero rom that did it.
What Hero ROM did you use? Can you post a link? If you had flashed the SPL already, then flashed the updated radio afterwards, then yeah.. that would do it.

Yea thats what I did. Son of a *****, I knew I should of just waited until T-Mobile released 2.0 for the G1, but NO I had to "HAVE" it. ****!
That sucks man... did you buy your phone from T-mobile recently? If so, you could get it exchanged by telling them that there was some update, and then afterward it just gets stuck at that screen.
naw i got it about eight monthes ago. i bought two, one for me and one for my girl.
If you bought it brand new 8 months ago, it should still be under warranty. Call T-mobile if you ordered it online or over the phone, or take it back to the store if you bought it from there. They'll replace it for you.
Just don't tell them what you were doing... play dumb and act like you don't know what happened. Tell them there was some message about an update and you hit ok, then when it rebooted it got stuck.

Thats a actual hero rom for the Hero phone, you needed the ported one for the G1 / Dream.
I know its no help now the damage is done, but once you get the phone sorted.
As others have said just act dumb with tmobile and you should get it replaced.

Just flash a donut ROM after you root the replacement. Dwang's is a good choice, as it includes Terminal Emulator, which comes in handy to flash to an updated Recovery. I recommend Amon_RA's latest v1.5.2. Once you have flashed the updated recovery, THEN you should flash the updated Radio, THEN the Danger SPL. Follow the directions in my sig for flashing the Radio and SPL. Then you'll have to flash Dwang's ROM again, since the SPL flash will throw your phone into a bootloop. Just don't freak out. Make sure you read the tutorials and ask us questions if anything's unclear.

DX Completely Bricked, SBF Wont Help

OK, so i SBF'ed to 2.1, pulled the battery when it was done, then applied the OTA update to 2.2. Worked fine, then i rooted, but was having problems with the market. All apps showed up, but i had this huge list of items waiting to be downloaded and it didnt budge for hours. So i manually downloaded DX Bootstrapper from the market and tried to install the Tranquility rom. I didnt mount the system the first time i tried to install the Tranquility rom so i went back to do it, but this time i did a factory reset, and wiped the cache, then mounted the system and installed the zip. Then i was stuck on an Endless loop of the Tranquility logo. Attempted an SBF restore back to 2.1, and this time it just failed. Now the phone only turns on to the programming screen and i get this message:
Bootloader
30.03
Err:A5,70,70,00,1F
MEM_MAP Blank
Service Req'd
Battery OK
OK to Program
Transfer Mode:
USB
Should i just go back to Verizon, not sure if they have this in stock, and not sure what questions they will raise when they see this screen.
Well according to a birdman twitter post:
_mrbirdman_
do not flash back to 2.1 sbf after 2.2 0ta, keys/signature check has changed, if you go to 2.2OTA say goodbye to 2.1 forever....
and then he proceeded to say...
_mrbirdman_
Please retweet, everyones about to wake up! DO NOT DOWNGRADE TO 2.1 SBF FROM THE 2.2 OTA, YOU WILL BE BRICKED! UNTILL WE GET A 2.2 SBF LEAK
So until they leak a 2.2 SBF I don't think anything you can do. =(
They've got a thread over at droidforums with a number of people w/ the same problems too.
I got the same problem Now waiting for leaked 2.2 SBF :|
wow, im screwed.
if i tell verizon that i performed an SBF, will they refuse to replace my phone since i took it upon myself to try to service my phone on my own?

i would tell them you were doing the ota it failed then just play dumb. It almost always works.
now the problem is that there are none in stock so im either gonna have to wait for a 2.2 SBF, or a replacement from verizon (and only god knows how long that will take).
I can't believe Motorola. For a company that is just barely getting their feet back on the ground after years of crappy phones - they sure not how to stick it to the consumer. I know we are just small percentage, BUT THAT'S THE POINT. Leaving it unlocked (aka no eFuse, etc.) would not really effect them much.
went to the store today, and they ordered a phone for me and it will be at my house tomorrow before 3pm by fedex. yay!
Even worse...p3droid warned that tranquility was meant to be applied over deodexed systems and the ota is not deodexed...yet.

That's kind of crazy when you think about it....intentionally brick your phone = get a new (though probably refurbished) phone.
I suppose it would be just about impossible for verizon to determine if the phone was bricked from their update or someone that tried to sbf but gone wrong.

Yeah, that's the way to do it. sbf to 2.1 > ota > root.
But the only thinig I see that makes it worth it is if you have bad reception on your phone. OTA has new baseband version, which might help. Other than that, I don't really see any advantages.
As always, modder beware
Personally, I think Motorola will drop the anal attitude of locking down hardware in due time. Probably getting significant downplay from it. The number of people bricking the phones might be higher than other types? I don't know. Of course, only time will tell.
As for the OTAU. It's nice and buttery for an official release imo.

Ok thanks I think I stay with my leaked froyo
You are the reason Motorola has chosen to lock these devices down. It's awful that you bricked your phone through impatience, carelessness, or imprudence, but you shouldn't expect a free replacement because you couldn't follow directions or misunderstood them. These are probably low on stock because of all the consumers like you who did this. When you think about it, you take the one you initially bought out of circulation and then the replacement which you feel that you are owed. Maybe Motorola made enough, but since you bricked yours, another customer has to wait a week longer to get their first one. Thanks for that. If you are going to attempt these modifications you need to make sure you can handle it or have deep pockets.
Motorola locks these phones down for one reason "Verizon" or whatever carrier the phone is on. Motorola doesn't care if we are root or not but if Verizon says "jump" they say "how high". the better they lock it down the more the carrier likes them.
if we have root and can do things like get free wifi tether Motorola doesn't care they have already sold the phone but Verizon does because it takes from their pockets.
not Moto's fault.

This not true, all I'm hearing is fanboyism. What about the Backflip or the Cliq? If you root the Backflip or the Cliq you will lose your manufacturer's warranty not the carrier's warranty. It Motorola's fault not anyone else. Even on the Motorola website they call it illegal when talking about rooting the Cliq, and rooting Android in general. You will your manufacturer's warranty if you root a Motorola Android even if it's on, Verizon, At&t, and or T-Mobile. The carrier's have nothing to do with this.

Hi to anybody who might read this ,i have already searched and only found one post and they went completely off topic
I want to know if there is maybe some way of installing an android rom onto my htc wildfire without rooting (rooting will void the warranty and the phone is like a few days old)
I want to get a different mod because the one i currently have is the stock one and it sucks i have always admired the people of xda for the creativity and knowledge in the roms so please help
Short answer: No

You need to root in order to be able to install any custom rom.
You can always unroot, if you need.

well if rooting is realy soooooooooooooooo important then could u guide me through this plz and what are the dangers of rooting(bricking etc)
well if you tell us what hboot version you have we might be able to tell you if you can or not by software.
turn off your phone.
press volume down and power on.
release volume down.
then write here what hboot version it is.
but i tell you, if hboot version are 1.01.000x you can't root it by software, and you'll need to get it done by someone that owns an xtc clip (piece of hardware).
But i dont quite get youre statement that there is only one thread about this subject and it goes off topic fast.
I think there are several threads about both rooting, hboot versions and much more. And all stuff that you need to know are actually in there.
Switch off your phone:
Press the volume down button + power.
The Phone will start.
Let us know what you see
Rom 2.2+ <-?
Hboot 1.+ <-?
s-on / s-off <-?
If your rom is 2.2(+/up) you will have the Hboot 1.(+/up) so there is no way atm to root it.
i have the same problem, we have 2 wait
(yes, threre is NO WAY at the moment)
If you have rom 2.1 (and lower) /hboot 0.8 (or something lower than 1.) its possible to root it to use a custom rom.
How to root it / use a custom rom:

if done properly.. the chances of bricking are very less. i ve rooted my phone over 3 times now.
I had a dead row in the lcd so had to get it replaced under warrenty. Installed a RUU and got it under warrenty.
Then rooted again.
The replaced display was dull, not bright enough, installed the RUU and got it replaced again under warrenty.
Then rooted again,
Broke my led. ( was trying the strobe mode in a high brightness led app.. he he)
Installed the RUU and got the led replaced.
Then, Rooted again .
Now i have a feeling the camera is not functioning rite. i see white patches here and there in the images, and the image is not crisp. i can see pixels.. i gues its time for me to RUU again.. he he..

its been 7 months now. Problem with the dead row was unfortunate, but led was my mistake. i knew high brightness strobe would break it. still i went for it.
and camera, perhaps the service guys mishandled it while fixing the led? or perhaps its just dust inside, thought its not prominently visible.

Well, a brick is a brick, and since you've voided your warranty, you sell it as is on eBay to recover costs (while stating condition/for parts) and get another.
Sorry for my poor English, hope you'll understand.
I flashed my HD2 a lot and never got any problem even there was time I flashed a Desire NAND rom (I mean it's for the REAL Desire, not a based-ROM for HD2). As long as you can boot into CWM recovery I don't think your device will die easily.
Yesterday I bought my TF, happy but not enough so I rooted and flashed the custom ROM. First I only had a 128MB microSD and I made a mistake: I flashed the patch (US->WW) before flashing ROM. It stucked at the Eee Pad screen. OMG, but I know I still haven't bricked my TF.
A TF ROM is ~200MB, not fit my 128MB SD so I had to run in the rain to my friend's house and borrowed his 4GB SD.
And now, I'm running the 3.1 Custom Rom, it's smooth, fast (althought not the as fast fast thunder flash ).
BUT, please THINK TWICE before you do the FLASHING. Know what you do, and don't blame anyone for that if you brick your device
honestly one would have to pretty hard to totally brick one of these.
depends on if you can get the prompt to get in to recovery. If you can't then you're boned, if you can, then you're not bricked.
another misuse of the word "bricked"

[Q] Willing to Pay You to Get ICS on my phone!

Look, I've tried and tried. I don't get it. I think my Atrix 4G bootloader is unlocked, i have SU installed, ROM manager, Titanium Backup works... but i can't get CWM to back up or to flash a ROM. I try and do a backup with CWM or flash a rom and i always get the Android with exclamation mark. I give up. You people are smarter than me. The forums are a MAZE. Half the links for various files and instructions don't even work anymore. What will it take to get someone to get me what i want!?!?!?
Please don't give me a link and say "go here" or "try this", because i've clicked on 100's of those type links and the instructions either do not make sense to my pee size brain or are incomplete or inaccurate.

I can help you but you do know that ICS isnt very stable yet and if ur not good with this kind of stuff shouldnt do it yet. But the ICS/JB without HW acceleration and working video recording and webtop work good. But if you still want to do it let me know ill help and let me know which ROM you want
@OP - OK for starters let's check to see if your bootloader is unlocked.
Turn off your phone and power it back up. Does it say "unlocked" in the top left hand corner? If so it's unlocked. It could still be technically unlocked without saying unlocked, but you would have had to flash a fruitcake to cover it up, and you probably would have known if you flashed a fruitcake already.
If you do feel brave, there are videos on YouTube showing how to unlock the bootloader (if you still need to) and also how to install CM7.
Unless you have the patience in dealing with bugs, IMHO you are better off "right now" using CM7 over ICS.
Just my opinion and best of luck...

My phone does not say unlocked when booting... but I thought SuperUser or ROM manager or Titanium told me I was unlocked at one point? I'm sooo far lost I don't really care. I just want to get where I can flash ROMs with CWM as easily as it appears to be.
I'd like to learn enough to be able to revert back to GB in the event the upgrade isn't for me. Or hopefully someone would help me go back if needed. Maybe I'm just believing what I see on the internet but I was interested in the recently "leaked" version of ICS...? Are you laughing at me write now? Whatever would be the most stable and/or have the most functionality is probably what i want. I'm really hoping to enjoy new software enough to inspire me to keep the phone until I see a new phone I have to have!

Well we can get leaked ICS on your phone but its battery life isnt great and some other bugs. Also when did you get your phone is it AT&T phone bought in US? Because newer Atrix cant be unlocked And it might brick our phone and you wont be able to do anything about it.
The question Stands above:
Do u need the camcorder?
Do u use a webtop?
When u answere one of these questions with yes, u should use a Stock based Rom or cm7; else i would prefer pinters jb.

Yeah before you start anywhere, we need your build number.
Settings > About Phone > Build Number
The steps to unlock your phone will be based of that.
Actually just list all the settings in your phone. It'll be easier.

The steps in the thread below worked BEAUTIFULLY for me. Just check whether you've got a 32 or 64-bit version of Windows so you can download the correct drivers for RSDLite. Once you get the bootloader unlocked and a proper recovery partition on there, it's all downhill. Two weeks ago, I was a complete n00b and now I can flash ROMs onto my Atrix in my sleep. For the first time last night, I even flashed a ROM without connecting to my computer, but rather just by downloading the newest AOKP package from GooManager, copying it to the SD Card, then doing a dirty install via Recovery.

There's also an awesome YouTube video showing how to flash MIUI onto your Atrix, but you can use it for any ROM you like.
(Caution: Like everyone else here, I assume no responsibility if something screws up and your expensive phone turns into a paperweight. As my Atrix is roughly the same vintage as yours, I seriously do not believe that will happen, but everything here is of course at your own risk.)
Hey sorry I passed out in box me a way to contact u and we'll talk

Unfortunately i've tried this site. I get lost once i get to #2 and it tells me to "go here" and download things, because it says things like "if you're 64 bit you'll need the OTHER link". What other link? And then it says "Do this UNLESS you're on ATT." I am on ATT WTF do i do? Also when i do try to install some drivers off of one of the random links my computer says I have more up to date drivers already installed. Ahhh the short falls of the internet.

You can get the appropriate version of RSDLite and drivers (32 or 64-bit) from here:
http://androidadvices.com/download-install-rsd-lite-root-motorola-droid/
After that, it's just downloading the unlocker that says "ATT ONLY" at this link:

I sent you a PM.
Use the instruction in this link http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Motorola_Atrix_4G:_Full_Update_Guide... Everything works there.
And it's better to make a donation to XDA Developers projects to release a stable ICS/JB version
Wow, thats why i still like to come to this community and check whats going on around, even though i don't the phone anymore. OP started a thread, thats been asked tons of times, and no one have flamed him yet, on the contrary, everyone is trying to help him. If he would do this on the GS2 i777 general section, he would have got flamed and the thread would have gone totally offtopic about jokes and stuff like that.
Great community guys! Keep the Atrix forums like this!
PS: Sorry for the offtopic.
Same Atrix as mine
OK it looks like you have the same Atrix as mine.
I used this:

Basically it's a one step process for installing root and unlocking your phone. Unfortunately, it also comes with an outdated CWM.
So once you are done follow these instructions:
http://atrix4ghacks.com/atrix-4g-ha...d-recovery-5-0-2-3-on-rooted-atrix-4g-update/
That should be it. Good luck.
