What's needed to use custom launched on slim? - Ideos S7 General

I have read through in the post and searched on this but didn't find a for sure answer for the slim model. Is root all that is necessary to keep the launcher from soft bricking tab? If so, I'm also confused as to the root method for slim model best buy? Thanks for any help in advanced but please if you don't know. Ow for sure which methods work for bestbuy slim model then no need to answer. Also haven't bought yet, just researching for the purchase so I don't have a specific. Model. Number yet but it is slim from bestbuy. Thanks again.

Until dev get their hands on the LTE version you have to live with it. I'm sure the Korean Note 2 works on all bands except USA if that's what you're asking.

I thought Korea version SHV-E250s have supports different bandwidths, will it support the 3G and 4G EE in UK though~~~
you can root the E250S by flashing recovery.img found in these forums in odin
DO NOT flash boot.img that is sometimes also in the odin tar file or you will not be able to boot into android or recovery.
(although to fix simply flash the stock boot.img back)
source: I rooted mine
(32GB version, LTE)
Thread open until verified...Thank You.
Any pic to proof? I assume this will work for N7105 too... Care to explain step by step tutorial?

This will work for E250K? I suspect that it should right?
Any progress on rooting the Korean Note 2? How many people on this forum have a Korean Note 2? Mine is the E250L (LG telecom)
I have the SHV-E250L (LG U+) and I going to try to stay unrooted.
This info only applies if you are in Korea but with my last Korean Galaxy phone, I took it to the A/S center to get a broken earphone replaced, and they tapped into my phone for 20 minutes trying to prove that it was rooted so they can deny me a free replacement. I know that is just bad luck with the service staff that day. But once they verified that it wasn't rooted, they gave me new earphones. To avoid that kind of hassle because the service at least for the first year is great (free shattered screen replacements while you wait and such), I think try to keep it unrooted for as long as possible. Let's see how long I can hold out...
Most of the reasons I rooted and put roms in the past was to gain access like wifi tethering, better battery life, and better functionality, but none of those are issues with this device. Wifi tethering is enabled without restrictions out of the box and without extra charge.

Some questions about this device
Hi All,
Since this seems to be the only GN2 version available with 32gb internal storage, I am feeling a strong temptation to buy it. However, I do have some concerns I am hoping you owners can address:
1) Is the DMB antenna obvious? I looked at the Samsung Korea site, and most of the photos don't show it. Does it retract or detach in some way? I know I won't be able to use it in the US so am hoping it will be easy to forget about.
2) Does it have a FM radio receiver like the international version?
3) Is the user experience the same as the international version if English is selected as the default language?
Ideally I would like to eventually be able to flash an international rom into the device, but I know that's not possible now. Are any of the current owners expert enough to offer an educated guess as to whether it will be possible in the future?
Thanks for your help and advice.

Ebay. This morning I saw a listing for a unlocked 32GB Titanium Gray, Korean version. Unfortunately, the listing already ended when I checked again a few hours later. :crying:

You can root with this method:

I think it was designed for the N7100 but I can verify it works on the SHV-E250K (KT).
Semi bricked my SHV-E250S 4G LTE 64Gb.
thank`s to all for help.
Isn't the Korean version wider and uglier?

[Q] Want to update SM-N900V To 4.4.2

Good morning guys, Please pardon my ignorance if you find anything dumb about this post, I just switched back to Android yesterday.
I want to side load 4.4.2 on my Verizon Note 3 Using Odin. I found this write up here --
http://androidcentral.us/2014/01/update-galaxy-note-3-to-android-4-2-2-kitkat/
A couple of things that concerned me were it has to be factory unlocked. "Make sure your phone is factory unlocked. It is compatible for both users". Being that it is global ready does that mean it is "unlocked"?
I know I should root but being that I just got it I want to make sure there is not anything wrong with it first etc as I heard once rooted its irreversible and Samsung would know (correct me if I am wrong).
Any follow up insight would be great thanks guy.
First question. Are you with Verizon? If yes, is the the developer edition? If no, then DO NOT FLASH THIS. The link you posted is for the international version of the note 3. Being able to use a Verizon n3 globally via adding that plan does not make it unlocked.
Also. There are a few other threads on this same exact topic.

If it is a developer edition. I know there ate more ROM options available for you to choose from. I think cm11 has been released, but I'm not sure. Search around.
I hope I caught you before you tried anything.

If you were to flash that it would most likely brick your phone. Just because you root your phone doesn't mean that it's permanently rooted or that "samsung will know". It's not hard to get rid of root access either. If you have never rooted a device before I suggest you do a little research on how to root your specific device before you start. There are a lot of write ups on XDA and other sites that will provide some very helpful information. I've read countless posts of people who rooted and started messing with files that they didn't know what they were for and ended up with a paperweight for a phone, all because they didn't take the time to search and read the forums first.

[Q] samsung galaxy tab 4 7.0 root

Is the galaxy tab 4 7.0 root able yet? The Model is SM-T230NU thank you
I've been Googling for a couple hours and I haven't found anything.
Your best bet is trying to see if Chainfire can look into it. He is the go to guy for rooting many newer Samsung devices. Post here for requests:

thanks
oh okay thank you i will do that
cant post
it wont let me post can you do it for me?
I'm installing Android dev tools right now so I can extract recovery.img to post in CF's thread. Busy weekend ahead - might take me a couple days to get it posted.
ok
ok thats fine there is no rush i can wait. will you tell me when its posted or is there any way i will know?
What's the processor on these? All I can find is that it's a quad core 1.2GHz. No idea if it's a Snapdragon 400, or if it's an Exynos. Exynos-based devices, it is my understanding, are more difficult to root, if not sometimes impossible.
I'm semi-interested in this device, as a sort of "toss around" tablet. Something inexpensive that I can throw in my backpack, while keeping my nicer, more expensive LG 8.3 at home. The small footprint and light weight is what intrigues me the most.
The processor is a snapdragon and it's very lightweight
Since I have the 10.1 model, will the eventual rooting process for the 7.0 model be the same for my model?
I have no idea I just want my Tablet rooted please

The idea will be the same, but you'll need a different kernel with the root enabled. If you want it, you have to request it from the thread linked earlier.
I try posting to it but it won't let me post so I can request it?
I want root as well this tablet has decent specs just horrid internal space so I'm trying to swap it with the SD card for apps
I got a 32 gb external SD for it on amazon
I have the scripts just need root

Root for US Cellular V20?

Hi all. I have tried searching and looking through posts here but haven't been able to find anything specific for this.
I am thinking about upgrading to the V20 but the one thing holding me back right now is root.
I am not really interested in custom roms and don't really think I would need twrp. I would just be looking for stock but rooted.
I have seen several posts for the unlocked US996 and the mentions that they are not interchangeable, but nothing for the US Cellular version root yet. Has anyone tried root for it yet or know if it will ever be available?
Thanks.

Returning S5 to Stock Rom

Hi
I need to return my S5 to stock firmware so that I can return it to the people I bought it from. I'm looking for the unbranded stock firmware for the Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus SM-G901F for the UK.
On sammobile, the only UK firmware is for EE:
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/...plus/SM-G901F/
Does anyone know which one I should go for?

Don't think it will make much of a difference, but you might as well just grab the latest one, even though it is over a year old. It is probably what would be on the phone if you had done an OTA update. I would be more concerned if you accidentally tripped Knox along the way and the people you are returning it to care about such things. There is no way to un-do that, short of replacing the board, but it also may not matter. Good Luck.

Thanks for this but the links are dead in your first link and the second doesn't seem to link to any roms (unless I'm doing it wrong)
