Earpiece Volume R800x - Xperia Play General

Anyone else having issues with the earpiece volume being really low? I used to have an HTC Eris and that was loud and could hear anyone even with the phone sitting next to me on high but this phone i have to push the phone basically into my ear to hear some people.
I was wondering if there is any program that will work with an unrooted Xperia (since I have the R800x) ... I have tried countless things on the market but none of it helps.
Stereo speakers on the side of the phone are loud as hell, it is just the earpiece.

I have a sony bluetooth headset, and have to turn the incall voulme down to 50%, to stop my head getting blown off

Same here man I have to shove it down my ear to hear but like you said the stereo speakers are great.

Same problem happened to me until they just died on me .

The earphones are pretty ****. When I switch it to my senheissers it seems to be fine.

I am still having this issue.. the phones earpeice speaker is like 25% the volume of the speaker phone speakers. in a silent room I have trouble hearing people. I have no other option but use a blue tooth headset which ends up being 50% louder then the speaker phone speakers.
Anyone found a way to boost the headset speaker yet?

Volume Seems Week

I find that the overall volume on the Treo Pro is not strong. When listening through a speaker or even sometimes through headphones.
Now I realize the quality of the recording is a part of it, but frankly for many recordings i can listen with the earbuds on and cranked to the loudest and its still not that loud.
Anyone know of any tweaks to increase the volume out put? I really would love the built in speaker to be louder.

i dont know any tweaks, but i had the same issue, i even called tech support to get a diff phone swapped out, the tech told me to take the plastic piece off because it covers the speaker hole on the screen.....lol....i know how stupid! other then that i dont know anything to make it sound louder besides the keys on the sides to turn the volume up and down. I did notice that the speaker phone gets louder if u have the phone on a table or something. if this info didnt help then sorry for my worthless post...lol
Did you try removing anything covering the speaker? Yes not a fun idea, but if you did, did it seem at all noticable.
Frankly, even with the head phones its not very loud.
Funny bit of information -- if you want more juice out of your headphones, turn the phone off of silent mode, unplug the headphones and wait for sound to come out of the speakers, and than plug the headphone back in... youve now doubled your hearing loss.
Thanks for the tip. Can you restate the steps. Its not clear (and I could not reproduce it.) Maybe it would be more clear if you describe the original state of the phone. Example: Headphones plugged in and mute switched so speaker is muted.
Thanks
Okay here goes, My phone is usually on Vibrate.
Plug headphones in.
Start music.
Move slider to speaker.
Unplug headphones until you hear sound coming out of the speaker.
Plug headphones in.
I noticed this when listening to music on my headphones and i'd get a call, the volume would crank...
Give it a shot, it works for me!
I could have a bunk phone, but if it means anything I'm from Toronto, and i'm using a Bell Treo Pro.

Call volume LOW..

Coming from the MT3G and almost always using wired headphones as i talk on the phone while driving etc.
The call volume is way friggin low on this phone man..really dissapointed atm, volume is all the way up and using the same earphones i did on my last phone.
The ear buds that come with the phone are terrible. I played Avatar and the sound this thing puts out is very tinny and hollow and to add insult to injury it's volume is substandard.
If im missing something plse let me know.
Thx.

Low volume on headphones stink!

Ugh this is so annoying. The volume cannot get super loud. When I'm in the car and plug the phone into my sound system it just cannot get loud enough. Headphones that came with the device don't get loud enough either. I used those headphones on my generation 1 zune and they sound great. so it must be the device.
Anyone else able to get the volume to where it could hurt your ears?

If I crank it any higher than 20, my Shure earbuds will kill me - if it doesn't self destruct itself. I've never had an issue driving line-level devices though - I usually put it around 25.
I can never tell if it's the headphone jack not making it in all the way because of the stupid slopped top though either. But yeah full blast on two seperate headphones I cannot get my ears to bleed.
I would have to agree, the headphones aren't very loud... I find myself wanting to turn it up 10 more notches... Registry tweak anyone???
Same here. I cam e from an HD7 and the audio on the DVP is really low. It's not the headphones.

[Q] Earphones Mic too low volume

From Day one i have been trying to get good earphones with Mic for nexus 4
tested out more than 6-7 quality earphones with mic like J6M, Klipsh, etc
but the microphone volume on the other end of call is too less compared to apple ear phones( recently switched from iphone)
I have to keep the mic piece really close to my mouth for a good conversation...
can someone help me here.. the mic on nexus 4 works perfect but when i connect earphones the problem begins... i used mic sensitivity apps to test and they pick very less volume from the connected mic
How do i boost the mic sensitivity on earphones or should i return the phone
Will try with my skullcandy's and revert

I'm having the exact same problem - did you find a fix?
I tried quite a few.. expensive as well as cheap ones. finally i got hold of a cheap ear phone set and the volume to the other end is good to be heard (as I have been reported).. While trying them all, I was calling my friend and asking him.. so thats how I know i picked the best one. However, since it extremely loud.. i kinda have to keep it away from my ear a bit and volume on phone is turned down to minimum.. Plus, due to its sheer loudness, I can hear the buzzing sound.. For the first time i noticed it, i.e.: through these extreme loud ear phones. The other party hears it too. Never heard it while on call directly using the ear piece. Strange.

Do you mind me asking which brand headphones you are referring too here? I have the same issue.
I bought from a local shop. It was a knock off of beats audio. The sounds it throws is EXTREMELY loud.
Is it just me, or does the OP make very little sense? I'm completely lost at what he's trying to ask.. Something about the mic? or the sound output of the "earbuds"?
No trouble here with any of the wired earbud sets I've tried. Clear as a bell and no buzzing.
If its so Loud for you, what are you not adjusting the volume? Would kinda of make sense to do so...
Or you could upgrade in your tech and get a bluetooth earbud.. I have absolutely no problem with volume levels from my Jawbone; I'm hear clearly and I can hear them just find (even when driving with all windows down, it sounds like they are right next to me yelling)

Nope, it's you. OP was referring to the mic volume on the headset being low, but in filthykids response, he mentioned that the headphones that solved the quiet mic is also very loud on the earpieces.
Also having the same problem, BTW.

[Q] Static Hiss LG G2 Earpiece

I will say I bought this phone a week ago and love it but I am having one problem I noticed with the earpiece. I never noticed this till the other day when in a quiet room I went to make call and could hear a slight static or hiss coming from the earpiece before even making the call. Its not that loud but and seems similiar to the Nexus 4 problem. Now this will occur even if you are not making a call just put your ear up to the earpiece and there will be a light static hiss. I went to the ATT store to test their model on display and same thing you can hear a slight static hiss. I am wondering if this is normal since the store display had this and has anybody else noticed this. Thanks Again
PS I have the ATT Version and only notice in a silent area.
Are you talking about headphones? Or a Bluetooth headset

The earpiece speaker when you make a call if you listen in a quiet setting when not making a call you hear like a static hiss sometimes you have to wait about 20 seconds to hear it and I noticed this with the display at a local att store. Thanks
try putting the earpiece speaker up to your ear do not make a call and just listen there a slight static hiss. I am not sure if this is interference but there have been comments on the verizon and sprint versions as well. Thanks
Earpiece speaker?
I'm having a hard time figuring out if you're talking about the phone itself, or you're using headphones.
If you're talking abut the phone itself, then I don't really know...
Maybe you can see a audio out partial wakelocks in bbs? I'm guessing it's something that hasn't shut the speaker off and is still running in the background.
My phone doesn't have this problem lol I hear nothing and I'm on AT&T version as well.

Its the earpiece speaker on the phone go into a quiet room total silent. Then simply act like your going to make a call but dont put the phone up to your ear and listen there is a slight static hiss coming from the speaker. I also posted a link that describes this better than I can. Thanks

I have a quick question what version are you on 4.2 or kitkat. Thanks
