Do you test it? This for Froyo or for Gingerbread? Or for both?

Someone already tried it ^^?

I've tested it and worked. I'm using Gingerbread. Also, since I only changed the recovery.img from ilarrain's zip, this should work as well for froyo.
I tested the file for Gingerbread but for Froyo, not yet.
Edit: Will upload a picture of my phone using CWM 4.0.0.9 after doing the steps.

chinoyray did you tried to flash it or are we test subjects
Ups did not seen your post...

I already have CWM 3. So do I have to do anything else other than just applying update from zip?
Edit: Worked without a problem. Thanks.

Okay, installation worked fine for me. I did a backup, which seemed to be sucessful, but i didn't try to flash a zip yet.
edit: i'm on nexusace and had stock-recovery before

Working with Coderom Nexus...Thanks for your efforts!!!

worth to try!!!.. thanks mate.

Thx

Ive install it. No problem. Thx a lot. Now we just need gingereal lol... Thx again man

can you include any further information what happend and what did? I thin it is essential to iron that issue out! so we need as much information as possible.

A great work of developers that worked very hard for to CWM for ace.

i still didnt see support for ace CWM in rommanger.apk from market.
some one know if ace support will include ?
coolya, i think that he tried it from market before we have any CWM for ace ...
thats the reason that he bricked his phone..
what about froyo? does it support also or we still need to use CWM 3 ?

[PATCH] Fix Arabic [RTL] on GB 4.5.91

Hello there
I have managed to get fix Arabic on GB 4.5.91, through patching and compiling framework.jar and libwebcore.so.
This will work on every rom that is based on AT&T 4.5.91.
Here is how to patch your phone:
Manually
1) Be sure that your phone is Rooted and Deodexed.
2)Download GBArabic.zip attached and extract it on your phone.
3)Now using Root Explorer or any other root file mangers.
Copy framework.jar to /system/framework/ and fix the permissions
Copy libwebcore.so, libicuuc-arabic.so and libandroid_runtime.so to /system/lib/, and fix the permissions
Be sure that you set permission for all, or you will stuck in bootloop.
4) Reboot and enjoy.
or
CWM Flashable File
1) Be sure that your phone is Rooted and Deodexed.
2)Download CWM-Arabic.zip attached and place it on your phone.
3)Boot into the recovery, and flash the file.
4) Reboot and Enjoy
p.s.
I am quite new here in the forum. So I couldn't post this on the Dev Forum.

Added CWM zip file
Arabic Files for CherryBlur v1.4d Rom ( it's based on ORFR and not working with At&t)
http://www.mediafire.com/?zd93z9leslz6wtc ... tested by me
Thanks Jack,
Does the Browser and Gmail show Arabic correctly in ORFR?
If it worked, I will update my post.
If not, could try and use my libwebcore.so on your phone, and report back to me?
no it's doesn't support the browser
and sorry I changed the rom and can't test the new files
Successfully Installed - CWM Version
Just flashed the CWM file. Working on Alien ROM.
Works perfectly (RTL needs some alignment "observed in Facebook App only"). Donation is on the way! Extra ordinary work and Cheers!

RTL is still not right in gmail messages, but that's super low priority

What you did wrong the first time, is that you haven't set up the permission, but hey you were half sleep I won't blame you .
I just noticed the alignment of Gmail, and droidace says it happen on Facebook.
It seems that these two apps, use different files to show alignment than the browser.
I will take a look at it.
Thanks for reporting, and hope you enjoy it.

How did you update to 4.5.91 ? official update, SBF, OTA, other ? I am still not sure what's the safest way to go to .91 with everyone warning about bricks on this forum
how did you root/deodex ?
Sorry for my dump questions if they sounded so, But i am new into this coming from the iOS land and overwhelmed with all the terms
Thanks mdd5
Hello Ramy, and welcome.
Since you are new here, I will encourage to take a look at THE BEGINNERS (N00B) GUIDE!!!

Now to answer your questions,
ramy_Maia said:

I did update to 4.5.91, by unlocking the bootloader and flashing one of the roms here on dev section, not official.
I am still not sure what's the safest way to go to .91 with everyone warning about bricks on this forum
Everything is safe as long as you follow the guide.
many of the bricks happen here is because people updated to .91 using official then tried sbf to an older version.
When you update using official, you can't flash an older version.
how did you root/deodex ?
As of now, the only way to have root and deodex on .91 is by flashing unofficial ROMs
So you will need to unlock the bootloader and flash one.
Sorry for my dump questions if they sounded so, But i am new into this coming from the iOS land and overwhelmed with all the terms
Your question are not dumb, I was just like a couple of weeks ago.
However, it is better to ask questions like this in Atrix 4G Q&A forum, so you get better answers and faster than here. You can also use search

Great work. I'm glad to see people using my blog and the sources to get Android arabized
Options of Arabic Fonts
Not really sure if there is an option to change the Arabic fonts? Any ideas?
Awesome work anyway with or without fonts
Thank you for your effort
In Alien Rom, Does it work for Write & Read or full (with menus)?
same question in Cherry Rom.

Need help going back to complete stock ROM

I apologize for this thread as Im sure this has been answered before, just can't find it. A while ago I had backed up my stock rom so I could try custom ROM's. Unfortunately just before flashing one I accidentally did a format on my microSD card with the backup of the stock ROM that came on my a500 so it got blown away . I have downloaded stock roms in the Development threads but there is a large list of different ones. I basically want to get the original ROM that came with my tablet so I can use OTA again. The stock ROMS I have tried keep saying "Poor network coverage ...." when I try to check for an OTA update. Also I live in the USA is there a region specific ROM that I need to get to ensure GPS works properly? Seems that none of the ROMS I have tried can get a lock on my location even if the prop file shows "US" Any help is greatly appreciated.
I have the Rom
that will work for you but no placeto upload it.there is a download link to it as well in Acer recovery installer.

UPDATE: I got a stock rom and appears fully restored thank you. Quick question though. There are about 4 or 5 different stock rom builds. Does it matter which one to use? Or should I get the highest version numbered one?
I'd also like to know, which rom did you get? Link and your steps please. It'd really help me out.

that that issue im also want to ask!
i allready download the stock rom at the link stok rom above, but my thor kernel is still eksist or if i press the power button and the volume the system reboot into a thor kernel. how can i get the kernel just like an original rom?
thank's
Your kernel should be stock. But what you're describing sounds like the recovery which is Thor's Clockwork. That should be the one you want if you want to keep flashing different ROM's and/or Kernels.
The way I got my tab back to completely stock is in this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1231005

TWRP 2.4.X.X on GTab 2 7"

It seems that the Gtab 2 7" devices do not have a current version of TWRP, the last one I found was an unofficial version, 2.1.1, from over 6 months ago. Anyway, I contacted Team Win member Dees_Troy via PM and he responded.
Quote by Dees_Troy:
Someone ported the p5xxx tabs and gave me the device configuration files so that we could add it to our official list. No one has done that with the p3xxx series though I'm pretty sure I could port them fairly easily if I can find device files and testers.
Edit: Forum member joeinternet was good enough to compile new TWRP builds for P3113, which also should work with P3110. He has compiled versions 2.4.1.0 and 2.4.4.0 and uploaded them to his dropbox. Here's Joe's post in this thread with links to the TWRP builds, both tar and image file. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38794003&postcount=10
Please also read through this thread for more info and be sure to thank joe for his work. I think it's probably a good idea at this time to use the 2.4.4.0 build.
Thanks,
Mike T

I replied back to Dees_Troy today and am waiting to hear back from him. But in the meantime, if anyone knows what he needs regarding device configuration files please respond here, as I'm not sure exactly what he will need. As for testers, I'm sure there will be enough of us on this forum to test it.
I think it would be great to get an official version of TWRP for our device, so any help here is appreciated.

TWRP 2.4.1.0 for GT-P3113
With the help of Dees_Troy, helicopter88, MrHyde03 and the various other guides out there, I compiled TWRP 2.4.1.0 for the gt-p3113. This is for the US-version wi-fi with the IR port. I've only tested it on my device and it works for backups, decryption and the like.
Files are here for the time being: one is for a straight dd within an adb shell and the other (.md5) is ODIN-flashable.

Good job! I will test later tonight. My thanks of course also to Dees_Troy, helicopter88 and Mr Hyde03. I hope others will test this so we can get it on TWRP's official list of releases.
One question, you mention the P3113. Will it only work on the 3113, or can it also work on P3110, even though it doesn't have the IR blaster? I have the 3113 but just thinking about the others. Thanks again for your contribution.

No problem. I'm not sure why the dropbox link is dead - I tried attaching it here without any luck. Let me know if you have any ideas of better hosting for them.
MrHyde03 has a Verizon version here:

But I don't think that's for a 3110 version. As Dees_Troy pointed out, we'd need the files from the 3110 in order to do a build.

I just did a backup and I'm in the process of restoring it. I noticed that backups only go to external storage, I am unable to select internal. Is this by design? The restore just completed and all seems good. I'll try flashing some zips later tonight.

Thanks for testing and I'm glad to hear it (sort-of) worked.
I set it to build external by default as internal storage can get a little skimpy.
I think the error is that I built it thinking internal storage was at /sdcard, which has changed on 4.2. I'll have to tinker around with it to get it right. While I'm at it, I'll sync with the 2.4.3.0 tree.

Small bug: When in TWRP if you select Reboot then Power off, it shuts down but when you power back up, it boots into recovery instead of into the OS. It's minor but I think it should be fixed. I haven't fully tested but flashed some zips successfully, as well as renaming backups.

you are right Ravi, but I have one doubt, how come other Chinese CWM recovery works on our phone? If Gionee haven't provided proper sources, how is a working CWM available for our device, even though it's in Chinese. That shows someone might have proper sources, and we can probably get it from them. Just a thought.
Hope Gionee releases KitKat upgrade soon, along with proper kernel sources for it, searching for devs only won't help them gain any likings from devs!

You see, from snapdragon 800 onwards, you need an extra file called dt.img while building the boot image. Its a device tree contains all the data as to where the addresses and ports are. Now this is device and kernel specific. And we don't have it.
Simply put, even if I take the Chinese recovery, unpack it and repack it without changing anything, it won't boot.

Now thats really sad. However in the facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/gionee/
See my thread, a guy says he has installed english version of recovery (CTR). I am however skeptical about it.
Another thing, the SuperUser app got disappeared in my E7. Rootchecker still shows that root is present.
It has now Vroot app. has it replaced superuser app or is it different?

Yup! It recognizes the display as "toshiba 720p video display" and makes a framebuffer for the resolution. while it should recognise it as "jdi 1080p cmd mode display". That causes the issue.

ooh! the set your mood! I feel you there bro!
yes the oneplus one has the same display. well, if only things were as easy as installing drivers on windows, we would have already done that.. we might have more hope from oppo find 7.. they just got official omni.. I downloading its source right now..
also, there is quite some hope!

Any plans for ROMs for the J5 2016 (SM-J510)?

Hello everyone,
I'm currently using a Galaxy J5 (2016) and I was wondering if anyone wants to do any modding for it. The only things I've seen so far is the "Light ROM" and the TWRP recovery, but I would love to use another custom ROM or a kernel.
Same, I would live to see a Cyanogenmod ROM for the J510. I've been trying to make a ROM, but it would help if others would do so.
It looks like the guys are working hard on a rom for your model on the developer page. You will just have to wait for more. Until then why don't you download the one available and help test it. The process will help develop more roms
@johnhux7 Can you send me the link to this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j5/development/rom-light-stock-rom-v1-t3467865
I think that this is the link your wanting
I meant a ROM for CM and that one has the final update
I don't think that there is one at yet mate. I think the only way your gonna get that is if you download the ROM that the guy has made. Help him test it, give him feedback and maybe that will help motivate him to go on and build CM12..1 CM 13 etc.
These guys do this work for nothing and it must take them 100's of hours and god knows how many boots of their phones.
Give them a hand and maybe you will get what you want in the future cos there ain't one at present..
John
Im gonna build cm for j5 2016

It is safe since it was confirmed that it is working.
You have to replace init.qcom.post_boot.sh file with the one from that thread, like is mentioned here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70308367&postcount=5 . So, copy the actual init.qcom.post_boot.sh somewhere to have a backup before replacing it. Dont forget to set the permission after replacing it.
Someone made a flashable zip with it so you can flash it through TWRP: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70409603&postcount=14 .
I don't know why it's any custom kernels for it!
It's a really great device!
A lot of RAM, good battery, CPU and GPU which is good for OVERLOCKING(I see the wonderful custom kernels on different devices with this chip
