Go to Start Menu...Settings...Connections.... USB to PC and then select Activesync.
You can also re-enable the ask me every time option if you like.

thanks guys , problem solved after restarting my pc
it dosent work for me.... i cannot connect my HD to my Computer. he always wanna start the internet shainrg... please help!
ActiveSync does not allways works properly with all computers. You could try Start Menu...Settings...Connections.... USB to PC and then uncheck the first option after ActiveSync (something like 'activate advanced network functionality' -I am sorry but my OS is in Spanish-).
I had to do this in one of the PCs I sync with HTC HD, though in other case it synced with no problem.
hmm its worked, but the internet sharing are starting too...
hi i have same problem with automatic start internet sharing... It is some solution for me how disable opening internet sharing after connect to usb?

This problem seems to have cropped up on at least 3 different threads, and with no sensible fix so far!
I am having problems on my stock Rhodium WWE, where I used to get a choice of AS or Storage card as mass storage, now I just get the internet connection sharing screen.
I have tried the various other fixes presented, but no luck so far.
same problem...

Active Sync Problem - Please Please Help

Hi
For some reason today when I connected my phone to my laptop I couldn't get an activesync connection. It went straight to internet sharing (without me selecting this)
No matter what I do I can't get an active sync connection.
- I've restored the phone to a previous point when I know they were both working
- I've enable active sync as default when I plug into my laptop rather than having the 3 options (active sync, disk drive & internet sharing)
- I've clicked the shortcut for active sync in the start menu but it the sync button is greyed out
I haven't changed anything on my phone in weeks and have been using internet sharing and active sync during the past few weeks.
I'm using Energy Rom 6.5 but have been for the last month without this issue. I'm stumped and I desperately need to be able to use active sync.
Please help me!!!
with the same ROM I had the opposite problem: adsl here at work is not working at the moment, hence my phone is teh only way to connect our small office with the internet.
Recently to me was happening to connect the phone, selecting internet sharing, and the damn thing (ActiveSync) was ALWAYS starting.
I am sorry because I really loved that ROM, but because of the cronic lack of memory and few bugs I moved to another WWE ROM done by a spanish guy (the one in my signature) and now everything works fine.
Also, I can receive phone calls during the internet connection!

Samsung Omnia 2 GT-I8000 Internet Sharing Problem on Vista

I am trying to make my Vista box to connect 3G network through my mobile. But I have tried many ways still it show me the error as attached.
I have no problem to have active sync working and have followed the instruction on Samsung help page to install their PC Suite. Yet, things is not working... Same problem occurs.
Any hints from any one on how to work this out?
looking for hints...
Anybody have any idea which I had did wrong?
There is an option of it, and for sure it is able to work as Modem for my notebook. Just wondering why can't my notebook recognize the phone when I start the Internet Sharing and connect my phone to GMS Data network (3G/EDGE/GPRS).
Just to follow up with some extra screen capture...
There is a screen popup as following:
Have just tried this on Bluetooth PAN, IT WORKS FINE!!!! (Never think to use this since the WM is really eating too many battery power~!)
But how to get the USB Connection mode work as well?

WM 6.1, internet connection sharing bug?

Hello everyone,
I have done some research on Google and with the forum search here, but couldnt find out if this is a known issue:
I am using WM pro 6.1 on a Samsung i780. The device has a working internet connection (Internet explorer, connection to exchange server ... all works flawlessly).
When I enable internet connection sharing and surf on the connected laptop this works for about 40 seconds to 10 minutes, then the connection breaks up. I haver to hit "Connect" again on the device and after 10 seconds I am connected again. Of course this is extremely frustrating.
I checked this behaviour with 2 different laptops, one running WinXP, another running Windows7.Same behaviour. So the problem must be with the device and internet connection sharing on the device. The connection is via USB cable, so it ought to be very stable.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. What would be the next steps? What should I try to find out?
I actually know a bit how a computer works (I wrote an even rather successfull computer chess program a long time ago ) but this I can't solve. It is important for me, because I seldome use internet at home and if I can get this to work I dont need another internet connection (saves me 20 Euros a month!)
Thanks again!
georg
to simplify
basically I can imagine the following steps to bugfix:
- is there a debug file in windows mobile 6.1. where it writes info about the internet sharing? then I could check there why it disconnects.
- if not, is there a utility for windows mobile which maybe allows more stable connections opposed to the built in connection sharing?
- should I try updating to 6.5.?
Again: Internet on the device/mobile phone ist stable (!). What disconnects is the "INternet Connections Sharing" even though that is via a USB cable(!).
Thanks.

How to share PC internet sharing through my mobile?

it does it automatically, assuming you have zune installed, setup and connected and not blocked by a firewall

How do you get zune to do that? I just tried it on my laptop, turned of my wifi nad plugged in my phone, let it sync, etc. No internet connection though. I looked around on zune for a tethering option but the only thing I found was a "linking" option, and when I clicked it, it said my phone is not compatible with that software.
Edit: Nevermind, I read the first post wrong, I though it said to PC from Phone.

you must activate device so that Zune will recognise it.

Nope, the method doesn't work. Phone activated, recognised by Zune etc etc. But the internet connection is not shared. For example, if I were to download free apps, they will get installed using my 3G connection and using my data. Same with Android. For those of us without home Wi-Fi and expensive 3G plans it gets quite pricey to flash or hard reset every time. I get 100Mb for $10 a month.

If I connect phone to PC and run Zune, go to settings turn off wifi, go to settings/ mobile network and switch off Data connection and 3G connection. Then I can use internet in IE9. What else can it be but the PC's connection?
For Android, you need a ROM with internet pass through, or try http://www.connectify.me/ (i haven't tried it) it might help.
I hope this works for you and saves $
I'm interested in connecting PC through mobile's internet.
I've seen that Mango have mobile hotspot function built in, but it's dependent on mobile provider.
Is there any cab to switch on wireless hotspot?
