I can't find Canada Bell S8500M firmware anywhere! Need help ASAP! - Bada Software Development

Okay here is my situation. I have a Bell Canda S8500M phone that I flashed with S8500XXKF2_Full_SHP_sYCO firmware but now lost my UMTS 850/1900 bands so no more 3g signal =( I only get edge. I looked all over the web and can not find the S8500M bell canada firmware anywhere!! I found the Latin America firmware S8500L S8500LUHJL1 that i flashed and got my 3G back but Kies wont let me log on to Canada Samsung appstore anymore.
1)Is there a way to flash my phone with a European firmware while maintaining my UMTS 850/1900 bands from my now S8500L?
2) Does anyone have the original Canada s8500M firmwares??
3) Can I flash part of another Euro S8500XX firmware but keep my 3G bands?
4) devs can you implement a North South America 3G friendly hybrid firmware?
Any help or suggestions will be highly appreciated.

1)you can use the European firmware and get 3G signal too by flashing the whole European firmware except amss.bin (contains modem config) use the one from S8500LUHJL1
2) Don't know where to find those
3) if you mean by the bands 3G then it is same question as 1 with same answer
4) i am not a developer so i don't know if they can
Best Regards

Thanks for your response I will give it a shot and see if it works to flash the Euro firmware without the amss.bin.

I flashed the modified S8500DDJI2 on my phone without the amss.bin file and it worked! I still have my 3G connection and hacked firmware!! =) thanks a million!

Has anyone had success doing the above (keeping the amss.bin file to retain phone's frequency band) while flashing with a Bada 1.2 firmware?
I too want to keep my phone (8500T) 850/900/1900/2100 compatibility.

I have tried flashing S8500XXJID (Euro 1.2) while maintaining my S8500L amss.bin on my Canada Bell S8500M and no luck. No go on the 3G on 1.2 BADA for 8500mhz/1900mhz devices. Maybe a DEV can help implement this in a Hybrid 1.2 firmware with those bands supported.

4G on D802 HKG version

I have a D802 Hong Kong version. In the secret menu (3845#*802#) i have found this: LGD802AT-00-V10C-HKG-XX-NOV-30-2013
Now, I would like to use the 4g connection in my country (Italy, carrier TIM) but the 4g option is not avaible in "network mode". After a test with another G2 (italian version and same carrier), I can say that the connection don't switch automatically on 4g but keeps the H+ one. So i think is necessary a modification.
Solutions?
Is it necessary to flash an europe radio? or something else? I'd like to keep the stock rom Lg but is not a fundamental.
Baseband: M8974A - AAAANAZM - 1.0.190036
Kernel: 3.4.0
Build: JDQ39B
I have the g2 for two days. I know it very little. I do not have much knowledge about it. Some good soul can explain to me how to do?
I need your help!
Did you verify that the device has the correct radio bands for the lte on that carrier?

I don't know how to check! On the box of g2: gsm 850/900/1800/1900; wcdma 850/900/1900/2100; LTE 2100(B1)/1800(B3)/2600(B7)/900(B8)/800(B20).
My carrier is Tim but i don't kwow which band uses.
In secret menu/LTE Band section: avaible band 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,17,20,40. No one is selected.
Can i flash V10E firmware for Italy on V10C firmware for honk kong (actually on my device)?
Flashing different firmware wont help. Its either your apn is wrong or you didnt enable lte correctly. I checked and TIM uses 1800 (band 3) lte which your phone should work with.

maybe i should enable "band 3" in LTE setting in secret menu.
Hi,
I've a similar question and I hope someone could help me: I've a G2 phone using the D80210e-ESA-XX firmware.
In the product specifications, supported LTE frequency bands are 900/1800/2100/2600/850. I know that in Italy working frequency bands are 800/1800/2600. Now, my phone does not support 800 MHz: do you think is possible to upload a different firmware (IT or EUR ones) on my phone? With one of these firmware, does the device will work at 800 MHz?
Thank you so much.
I also had the D802 with Korean firmware!
Even though the phone itself supports LTE the Korean firmware doesn't!
I flashed the EU version and everything worked fine afterwards!!!

Hi @zacharias99, are you using the LTE in Italy?
@sunshonic, I didn't understand if your LTE works in Italy using the secret menu. Is it working?
Thank you

No no i am using the LTE in Greece!!!
But LTE is LOCKED in Korean firmware!!!
In older Korean Firmware you could activate LTE from secret menu but in newer version this option has been removed!
The only solution in my case was to flash a european (or in your case italian) Firmware and everything worked like it should

@popsi, @zacharias99 did you follow a specific procedure to upload the european firmware. I'm not so sure to perform it cause some month ago I've bricked an old Motorola (I don't remember the exact model) using simply a firmware of a different country. The result was a brick cause two firmware did not use the same way to allocate the memory...

My friend i don't really know where in this forum the instructions for flashing a new stock firmware are... (I am also new in this community)
And i flashed it with Greek instructions so my link won't help you and i don't want to post some link i haven't tested by myself...
Sorry i hope you can understand!
At moment i have no time, but if I would be you I would search in the G2 Section for instructions!
They must definitely be somewhere!
Did you subscribe for LTE with your carrier?

@zacharias99, I've checked that 4G can be enabled using the secret menu
1. Go to LTE-Only
2. Modem Settings
3. RAT Selection
4. Select GSM / WCDMA / LTE auto
as in the post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2494751
At the moment it doesn't seem to work for me, probably because my sim still has not been enabled for 4g.
Have you ever enabled this option (with the previous korean firmware, I mean)?
@zacharias99, @popsi: the new european firmware allows to navigate over the 800MHz frequency band for you?
Thank you

Hi,
the procedure using the secret menu definitively works on my D80210e-ESA-XX, but I need to re-select it after every reboot.
Does anybody know how to make it permanent or how to automate this selection on boot (maybe using Tasker or something similar)?

Does software or hardware determine a modem?

Hello, I have a Sim unlocked bell Canada note 3 and an planning to rent/borrow a NTT Docomo Sim card from a friend in Japan for use while on a trip in Japan.
I have a stock firmware and modem and am wondering if I can flash another modem to gain access to the NTT Docomo spectrums because right now as is my phone will only be and to access the UMTS 2100 spectrum.
Technical info
Bell Canada stock note3
LTE: 700/850/AWS/1900/2100/2600
HSPA/UMTS: 850/1900/2100/AWS
NTT Docomo spectrum
LTE: 1700/1500/800/2000
UMTS: 2100/800
If any of my facts are incorrect please advise.
Thank you.

I think what I'm wondering most is I'd modern hardware is what locks frequencies or if it's all software and ask it takes is installing student drivers?

SM-N9005 variants have completely same hardware but different software (firmware)
so if u have problem with modem u should flash another rom that 1. compatible with ur device (for N9005) 2. compatible with region.
:good:

I am not entirely convinced that is a good idea - modem files are now notoriously difficult to write with Odin on Qualcomm devices. You should also look into the US threads where I believe there are sensible bounties for making one model of phone to work on the frequency of some other carrier, and none of those being claimed should suggest things are far from simple.

Yotaphone 2 Frequency and Radio Firmware - AT&T

Hey guys -
So like many of you, I reflashed my two Yotas to the latest RU Lollipop and was wondering if there was another radio firmware file that might wake up the AT&T US LTE bands. Any thoughts? Has anyone tried flashing the different radios to see if you can get a 4G LTE signal stateside?
Thanks,

HSPA+ can be sometimes very good - 3-15Mb/s - what is your speed at the moment? can you check through speedtest.net ?
At&t firmware
I have around 3.5 mbs to download and 0.6 uploaf. Too small comparing local 4G. So, can you help us?
I do not think you can change that easily, there's a thread talking about changing Radio Bands but the conclusion I got from the reading is that it does not work, at least with current "user" knowledge, YD206 is from China or HongKong, and some of those LTE Bands can work in Europe, not so much on the USA, the bands that USA telephone companies are very different than Europe or Asia, and as such YD206 IS NOT compatible with USA LTE bands. UMTS can have much higher upload speed than the ones you posted, so it might be your network problem, don't know if they are any better in LTE over your region.
Should be possible
Qualcomm 8974 supports all LTE bands. We just need proper modem firmware for US bands. Method in those threads definitely doesn't work since Qualcomm introduced some hidden filters inside firmware
BTW, there is lte_prefferedband file in the modem folder of Yota EFS. Does anyone know how to edit it?
That might be a anti-tampered code against our NV changes
Ok, I found out. For AT&T we need qcn file from Yotaphone 2, model 205. I don't know it such thing exist on the market but this reference says that it might be compatible with At&T.

interesting thing is that YD205 model was never launched, so it doesn't exist at all, unfortunately. The inquiries about future developments of this model were negative...

How to unblock WCDMA B8 900MHz on a T mobile SM-G892U phone or do a cross flashing?

Hi everyone, I search a solution on my problem for days and I didn’t find the solution. I ask for your wises advices…
I’ve got a Samsung G892U on T-Mobile, but I’m living in France. The G892USQS5BSE4. I need the WCDMA B8 900MHz which is blocked by the T Mobile Firmware. I followed the advices of T Mobile forum https://support.t-mobile.com/message/684694#684694
But I wasn’t successful to change the CSC to another carrier. I tried to search for custom rom but apparently with my bootloader 5, I’m stuck.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/development/root-partcyborgrom-galaxy-s8-active-t3747788
Apparently, I can do a Cross-Flashing to ATT without root and with Odin. But I didn’t find any ATT firmware link…
Could you please help me to do a cross-flashing and get the bands free ?
Can you tell me if there is a bounty for a custom rom G892USQS5BSE4 or equivalent ?
Thanks by advance
Cross flashing
Ok I continue my investigation:
I found a rom ATT G892AUCU5CSF8. I can't post the link due to post restriction but I will later.
At least I manage to find a V5 Bootloader as mine.

I tried a basic install of the rom G892A on my G892U with Odin. Waht a surprise, I get a message secure check fail: pit
Do you have any tips to do this cross-flashing ?
Regards
