[Q] dashed - Acer Iconia A500

I've updated to 3.1 recently and I notice on the bottom right of the screen to the left of the time there is a dash, I'm sure this mark wasnt there before, what's it meant to represent LOL

Not there on mine. Do you have anything in the notification area?
I do not. Maybe it is a separator of some sort if you have notifications.

I've found that when I disabled Notifications (in that settings pane after you've tapped the clock) it causes the dash icon to appear.
If you tap the dash, it should tell you what it is - at least that's what I get
Possibly post a screenshot from your device to show us the icon

[Q] X 2.2 official Issue: Bottom dock bar not working correctly

I noticed this issue after froyo and numerous fresh restarts.
The bottom dock bar of the x(philblur/motoblur) is not working properly. Usually when you switch screens the home button, phone button, and contacts button, slide down and another bar replaces it(the one with the dots representing which number screen you are on). Now what it does is that that the innitial bar never goes away and the screen bar just goes over the first bar and you can see the 1st bar in the backround. This especially looks odd when you go to delete an icon or widget because the trash can just sits on top of the little triangle icon which brings up your apps. Anyone else have this issue and know what the cause or fix is?

WeatherBug bug

My WeatherBug app is not working properly. ie: when I launch the app, the temperature it shows on the screen does not match the temperature shown in the notification bar on the bottom of the screen.
Right now, when I open the app it is showing 85 degrees and sunny, while the temp on the bar says 66 degrees. When I tap the temperature on the notification bar, a small horizontal window pops up saying it is 66 degrees in my city and raining.
Every once in a blue moon the the two temperatures are in sync, but not often.
I removed mine because sometimes it just wouldn't show up on the home screen.
I have the same problem. When you power cycle the device it updates but that's a pain. I like getting alerts but for now I'm not running it while hoping for an update that fixes the issue.
I had the same problem. I just removed the temp from my notification pane. You can still get weather alerts in notification pane without displaying the temp.
I gave up on WB until they fix their app for tablets. I'm sticking with Accuweather for the time being.

How does one remove the temp from the notification bar? Thanks.

Just open weather bug > options > preferences > scroll down to the enable notification (temp notification) and uncheck the box
You get to theoptions by selecting the icon with the three parallel lines by your home and back button on the bottom left of the screen after opening WB.

Status bar

On the Status Bar at the top right of my A7 screen, there 5 items. One is the clock; next to that battery strength; airplane mode and then one I don't know what it is. Can someone help me and tell me what it is?
It looks like a small picture of the tablet with two little lines on left and right of it (something, maybe, to indicate movement or shaking).
Does anyone know what that is and where I could see the setting for that icon?
unknown icon
News to me. I dont have it on mine. Go into settings, applications l, running services and disaple things one at a time untill it goes away!
That icon means that vibration is on usually indicating sound is disabled (if you slid the wrong bar on the lock screen).
Yet another question that could have been answered by the manual...

[Q] Notification icons missing with lollipop update

The notification icons in the upper left hand of the screen used to appear on the lock screen to show me if I had emails or texts. Now they don't show up since I downloaded the lollipop update. Anyone know how to get them back?
Thanks.

As I noticed that is little different than it was before. Check if you did not disable it in the settings. See the screenshot.
That seems to show the pop ups on the lock screen but not just the little icons. Maybe I'm missing something else...

[Q] Notification/Status question...

I am on ATT with 5.0, phone not rooted. I just noticed this today. Used to be, when the phone was "resting," if I would get an audible email (or other) notification, I would hit the home button to turn on the lock screen and there would be icons at the top left of the status bar showing me what notifications were there. I would then swipe down from the top and they would show (in a white box) over the wallpaper. Now what happens is, when I get the notification, I turn on the screen and the white box is already on the screen, with no icon in the status bar. If I hit "clear," the notice goes away, but the white box saying my WiFi is on stays there. If I swipe on it, it goes away, but the phone "wakes up" (unlocks). It always showed a text message instantly, which is fine, but not emails and other notifications (like updates...etc). What happened?
