WATCH VIA NASA APP:
Android NASA App available just in time to watch Atlantis shuttle launch
NASA has launched the Android version of the NASA App just in time to use it to watch the space shuttle Atlantis launch.
The same app has been available for the iPhone and iPad for some time and has achieved over 5 million downloads. That’s due in no small part to the number of features on offer, with the most useful today being access to live streaming NASA TV feeds.
As well as the ability to watch the space shuttle Atlantis launch from your Android device, the NASA app offers up thousands of images from NASA’s growing collection, a library of NASA videos, mission information both past and present, launch countdown clocks, visible pass information for the International Space Station, ISS and Earth Orbiting Satellite tracking, and access to social features such as NASA Twitter and Facebook posts. It’s effectively a treasure trove of information for all the NASA fans out there, and looks to be kept up-to-date with new information of a regular basis.
Best of all, the app is free to download and use. It’s a 4MB download and works with Android 2.1 onwards.There is a note next to the NASA TV feature that states it isn’t compatible with all devices, so you’ll have to check if it works with your particular hardware. Even so, the app is getting very positive reviews from the 22 users who have took the time to rate it so far, and that’s sure to go up if the launch actually happens today.
To get your hands on the NASA App for Android just head on over to the Android Market and get it installed before 11:26am.

Discovery Launch NASA TV on SPB TV Free

Wow didn't think this app was free on the market, however it streams the NASA channel pretty well. Been streaming all day getting ready to watch the launch of discovery. Compared it to the web and it even seems to be ahead of the NASA live stream off there web site.
Watching now! good find!
Update: you can now stream NASA TV on your Android device they have updated it to support Flash for Android and RTSP. Just in time for the last Shuttle launch in July

Good News, SKY TV on Android Next Month

At last Sky TV is launching it's service on Android next month and here is a link:
http://hexus.net/business/news/internet/34577-sky-launch-internet-tv-service-brings-sky-go-android/
Does anyone think it will work on the Note even thought it is not listed as supported?
yeah that is good news and it's about time!
I noticed that sky atlantic is on the ios app now, and hopefully the android version will launch with all the channels mentioned in that article.
I'm sure someone will modify the apk to work with our notes once launched.

AllCast App

Saw this at Engadget, bought the premium version for my N5. Download the free trial version and verify it works with your devices, and then buy the premium license for $4.99 (there are time limits for streaming with the trial version). It streams movies and pics from your phone / tablet to your TV using one of the following devices:
* Roku
* Apple TV
* Xbox 360, Xbox One
* Samsung Smart TVs
* Panasonic Smart TVs
* Google TV (Logitech Revue, etc)
* DLNA Renderers
Reportedly it will support music soon, and Chromecast support is also reportedly coming.
I used it over my Roku and it works well, streamed Dredd with no problems. Cool little app.

Not trying to complain, but this is a bit pricey for a beta app. Can't get it to stream movies on the free version. Who knows how long it will be supported also.
Like I said, try the free version on your devices before buying. It worked on mine. I think you're limited to like 60 seconds of video with the free version (just enough to see if it works, I guess).
I have Rokus all over the house, so this works great for me.
Oops, doubletap...
Huh didn't know about this, great find too bad no support for ps3 =[

Yeah, it came out of beta today: https://plus.google.com/110558071969009568835/posts/XDZLpU8uYt4
Although, I saw the point of the app when you "Shared to..." from other apps when it was in beta but now it's just all one inclusive app. It makes me confused considering I don't really keep movies or tv shows on my phone and if I ever share pictures/video it's not typically in a living room setting.
i use Twonky Beam https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pv.twonkybeam to stream music and videos from my device to my so's LG tv since 'on device' media cannot be streamed natively. Works great so far
lot of updates recently?
I received 3 alone yesterday, one today also dated back for yesterday. (also several over the last week)
Changing version numbers, but no changelog or other version history in the PlayStore.
I am pretty sure I could watch a video longer than 60 seconds on my Xbox when I last tried and PS3 didn't work. Has that changed? Can't try it out because I'm at my mother's house for the holidays.
PS
merry xmas!
When (if) it gets chromecast support I'll get it. Then I can actually use the thing.
Sent from the jaws of my Hammerhead!
Hmm... It doesn't seem to work with the Apple TV (3rd gen) for me. It just keeps spinning away.
Beta worked ok for me but I couldn't stream online services like Youtube, If your gonna drop some dollars on such an app I would also consider Streambels The 7 day free demo worked very good for me. Only downside opposed to AllCast is that you need to start the app first.
updated today to work with the chromecast
Cant get AllCast to work the last 6 months
No movie passes 5-15min with LG g3 d855. And I have the exakt the same problem with with Moto G4 plus, it disconnects my Hitachi 50hzt66 tv, I've payed for this app and if you cant get it to work, I want a reufund! Love your others apps so its just this one I cant get to work. All others apps and nougats 6.01 own cast works flawless.
Please solve this, because Ihave two more friends with the same problem. Best reegards Pierre Hellner Gothenburg Sweden

Anyone know if CBS app for Nexus Player will have the Superbowl live?

I'm having a hard time confirming if it will, some sites say tablets only. I installed it from my browser as it appears the app is officially supported. I'm guessing there will be some Kodi options if not.
I doubt it will. It didn't have the option to stream during playoffs either.
Well, the latest update (feb 4th) seems to mention live streaming of superbowl and on cbs superbowl website they do mention AndroidTV as one of the devices for streaming the game live. I guess we'll see. I don't have any links in the app for live streaming - not sure if it will just appear or how it will work.
It will be live from the Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick and is advertised heavily there with the CBS Sports app.
Yes, I know that the Amazon devices are not Google TV, but they do run customized Android and not tablets or phones, so they show promise for the Super Bowl to play live on the Nexus Player, although I am concerned that there are no ads promoting it.
There is absolutely no mention of superbowl inside the nexus player app. No link. Just the regular nfl and other sports video clips. I'm hoping it somehow incorporates a link at the time of the kickoff... but I have doubts.
I mean they do specifically mention AndroidTV on CBS's website... but there is no indication of it from inside the app itself.
The pregame show is live on the app! Yeeei So there's hope for the game as well. The link appeared at 2 pm ET inside the app.
