Fix fm radio volume on official cbw froyo rom - Milestone XT720 Android Development

Simply delete app and replace with miui fmradio.apk. Works a treat.

Can you post the MIUI radio app here?

This is from MIUI final v2, I haven't tried it.

Nope. Same issue as Kahls and fjfalcons patch, FM radio. Works for first install and then when you close it out and reopen, it goes back to being too loud on lowest setting.
How about the FM apk from the new Korean Rom?

The difference between the two ROMs is primarily in the framework. The A853 doesn't have an FM radio, and Dexter's 1.3 uses A853's framework (same story with the gallery key). The new ROM uses Motoroi's framework. I don't know enough about Android app development to know if there's a different mechanism available to tie into the volume keys outside of the framework. The advantage of the Motoroi framework is that everything our phone does is also done by Motoroi. I think it does more actually, Motoroi has a TV tuner--I don't think there are any features on Milestone XT720 that are missing on Motoroi XT720, but there are many that are missing on A853. The biggest problem I remember about the XT720 ROM was that the sensors weren't working.

which sensors you are talking. about. suggest installing elixir app and enable the sensors.

FM Radio

Im posting this here because I'm not entirely sure whether to post this in the App Dev forum, but, is there any way to get the FM radio working in Fission? I also would like to know why it doesn't work, problems with the files? The firmware? Incompatible kernel? Im running Fission 2.5.7, and would like to get the fm radio working to show off...
Powered by Fission, from my DROID 2
You can get it from fission rom manager. Download moto music app, its included. . . Dunno about the standalone app, but I'm sure the rom supports it since moto music has it

The Multimedia Pack- Moto- Droid 2? Because, I installed that, and didn't notice any difference
Powered by Fission
I have to say, I upgraded to Liberty 1.5, and now the radio problem is gone!
Liberty has fm radio by itself from liberty toolbox (get it on the market)
The moto modded one, not stock moto. There are two diff... its only in latest version of FRM. The very first entry under addon.
Once its installed select radio for fm and online radio.

There's a thread under D2 themes and apps on how to push it with adb... should work with any rom.

Super APP Updater + Theme + Root + Baseband + APPS v1.03 [Updated + Download Link]

Hi guys, you've probably wondering what is this SuperAppUpdater imposting here,
Well, if your anything like me, you are probably testing new roms as they come out, just for the fun of it, but then, some of you might have the need of installing apps manually in your system/app partition.
Personally, I like the newly released European roms better than the custom ones, thats just my taste.
To clarify, this only works on Official European Roms 2.2.1, I've tested on the German rom, the UK rom, and the one from Spain, I've tested it on LATAM roms but for some reason it doesn't work, it applies everything but you wont get any signal, don't know if it works on Telus.
So, you might find those roms aren't rooted, and they also come without a theme, no titanium backup, no rootexplorer, no theme, they are as vanilla as they can get, so, I've made myself an app updater to copy all the apps I commonly use all the time after trying a new rom or even after formating my rom.
What does this do?
This will install the followin stuffs in your system partition:
ADW Launcher
Titanium BackUp (Free Version, not donate)
ES File Explorer (Instead of Root Explorer, but it still supports root, so if you know a better FREE alternative, let me know)
Stock Battery Manager (Got it from Argentina's Personal stock Rom, it will work on any stock motorola Rom)
Chrome to Phone
Contacts (GB Theme)
Phone (GB Theme)
Latest Facebook
Latest Gmail
Black Gtalk
Latest Google Quick Search Box
Latest Maps (My Tracks, StreetView +World Navigation)
Latest Twitter
Latest Market
Latest Voice Search
GB Theme + Framework (Extra options for power button) - Got them from some updater silesh made
It roots your phone
Market Access
850 / 1900 Baseband ( If you dont use this baseband, re apply your baseband after finish)
This is one of my first efforts, If you can help me make it better, by all means, give me your suggestions!

Good aport!
Only one suggestion. Remove root explorer as it is a paid app.
Also for maps, you should include the modded version which allows navigation all over the world, not just US. Check the xda portal for the link to that thread.

So, I've removed the download link cause my previous post included paid apps, I'm uploading a new version with free apps only, hope you like it.
Also just to point out that the reboot mod will not work on all roms. It works only with official 2.2.1 .

Yeah man I knew that, I did this only for the official roms, not the custom ones, It might work on customs but I have not tried on those roms.
If someone does try them on customs, let me know it and I'll post in which one of those works.

Nah, just did it in the description, I think it works with some customs too, just haven't tried it, I'll do it if someone reports it doesn't work in customs.
ES File Explore is great, but it's root feature doesn't work on stock roms does it?
Pretty sure Super Manager is more universal in this regard and still free - plus it has a crap load of cool stuffings included. (scrren capture, wave in front of the sensor to turn the screen on, etc...)

Thanks man! I'll test it and if it works as awesome as you say, I'll post it in my next update!
BTW, does anyone knows where can I download the Latest FREE version of Launcher Pro?
I think its better than ADW Launcher, if you guys know any other FREE launcher better than the previous I've mention let me know!

Liberty 3 ROM FM Tuner

I installed the new Liberty Rom and I may now keep my old work-horse Verizon Droid X for a while longer. The ROM did not contain the FM tuner that was originally on the phone. Is there a way to reinstall the tuner from Motorola or is there a decent third party app. I have seen the Spirit FM app but that does not appear to work well at all. Any help would be appreciated.
I THINK, and may be wrong...as I haven't been on liberty since way back in the beta gingerbread builds...before Liberty 3.
But I think there should be the option to install the FM Radio via "Liberty Customizer" in the settings window?
That customization must have been stripped out of releases 1.0 and 2.0. Anyone know how to activate the tuner.
Thanks for this

Jubakuba is correct. Its in Liberty Customizer under "addons". I'm running L3v2.0 and installed it just fine. However, I also have the donate version of the customizer so it may not be in the one that comes free with the ROM.

Fixing radio problems on your JB rom on i9000

Hi, my name is Steven
I run C-Rom's JB on my SGS I9000 and loving it.
There's just 1 little problem with all the JB roms i've flashed
There is no way to get a fm radio working (not a radio via stream but via my fm thing in the phone + earphones)
I've been looking every where for a stock jb radio apk or something like that.
I tried the SpiritFM radio, but it didn't work (no sound or anything)
THEN, i found something on a forum.
It said that you have to go to kernel app, in this case semaphore.apk
scroll down and check the box of "Radio FM - load radio FM (si 4709)
After having done that, the spiritfm radio still didn't work.
Ok so far, no progress.
I went trying stuff to get it working and i got it.
Here's what you do
- Open SpiritFM radio
- Push the option button on your phone (you'll get a pop-up menu)
- Go to "Setting"
- Go to Band, and select your country (or continent or w/e)
- Go back to "Setting"
- Go to "Debug
- Go to "FM Chip"
- Select your chip (instead of automatic)
------- If you don't know your chip, just try EVERYTHING (restart app after changing Chip)
------- Mine was "Sam SiLabs (Gal S+)"
And SJABANG!! you have radio.
(At least... I did)
Now.. i do not know if the semaphore setting change has anything to do with the radio working, but it won't kill you to try
I hope this will help people with the same problem.
I have included "semaphore.apk" and "SpiritFM radio unlocked"
I wanted to add a link but i'll just add the file instead (xda wont let me do a link yet)
Please post if you have anything to say.

It really works! It's great!
The only thing I've changed in settings is the "Band" according to area where I use it. Also it needs to have superuser permission granted.
It's the only FM app I've seen yet working on CM10.0

Isn't it piracy to supply the unlocked version of spirit in the attached zip?

[Q] FM App in AOSP

Well guys i have a great doubt, install the AOSP ROM and everything is perfect very stable, light and those things.
But I need the App of FM Radio and i tried to install it but without any success, someone i could say how to install it from this ROM.
Thank you very much.
Re: FM App in AOSP
May I ask what version of AOSP are you using, as far as i know, the Samsung Galaxy Y in only compatible with Gingerbread. So, it will have CM7 and CM7.2. I took the radio from a CM7 rom and attached it. Try installing this one. If it doesn't install, then try pushing it into /system/app and then it should work. If you don't know how to do that then just Google it.
EDIT: If that doesn't work, try com.radio.fmradio app from the Play Store, it's a wonderful alternative.

You can also try Spirit FM.
It allows you to play FM with/without headphones and works fine on AOSP. No force close, no errors.

Which version of Spirit FM is working on CM7? I've tried several, he even identifies the radios, but the sound does not come out :/

I am using Aug11 Spirit FM Unlocked version. Bought it from Play Store long ago. (BTW updated version doesn't work. As you mentioned no sound comes out. Free and lite versions also have same problem.)
I think is because of the kernel percy kernel. I have try the savie kernel with rom of percy CM7.2 and the spirit fm work but is we use savie kernel we can't use wirles and bluetuth with this rom so I think we can't use radio with this rom
