my android market cant find google doc, google plus, youtube etc - Wildfire General

hello all
recently i installed cm7 in my wildfire device....but my market apps can not find google docs, youtube, google plus etc apps.....
how can i do now ?

It seems you are in a region where some apps are not visible in google market.
So if market can't find those apps, what you can do is as follows:
Install the attached Market Enabler App. Once installed, under settings tab, long press t-mobile and choose "fake this provider now".
If you restart market again, you should be able to find all the google apps and you can also see paid apps as well.
Hope this helps,

Try to download from 4shared...
search youtube apk, gmail apk or etc..
It works for me..

Try installing from the web interface

Cannot purchase/upgrade applications through the Market

Hi,
I Cannot purchase/upgrade applications through the Market.
I have no problem downloading & installing apps however when I want to purchase/upgrade from trial to full, I am getting message like this:
No search results.
There are no matches in Android Market for the search:
pname:com.vscorp.android.alphamixr
This happened to me with all apps that I wanted to purchase their full version.
Can someone assist?
Thanks
Hi,
You're probably not in a Google supported region..
Try searching the forums for market enabler app. You do have to root the phone to be able to use the app, but if you really want to purchase apps from Android market, then that's probably the only thing to do until Google starts supporting your region.
Other option is to start using some optional app providers such as SlideMe.org's SAM application (http://slideme.org/).
Not even sure if there are others...

[Q] Latest Youtube apk

Hello,
For some strange reason, I can't find the Youtube application on the market, whichever ROM I try. I used to get it fine on my HTC Magic but nothing on my HTC HD2.
I can't find Vocal Search either but that one can be found in CM's gapps.zip. No Youtube in that pack unfortunately...
So is there an address or thread that keeps an up-to-date .apk of the Youtube app ?
Thank you very much !
Install market enabler. Then launch market enabler, go to setting list, long press either us t-mobile or us-verizon. A menu will appear, press fake this provider now.
Now you'll be able to find the youtube app on market.
I know about that but I don't really want to install an app to get another app. I wouldn't use market enabler for anything else...
Check your PM.

If you're from Belgium and go to the android market website on your computer, you'll see you won't be able to install youtube.apk because it's not allowed in our country. Market enabler is an old well-known solution, but I recall Google having removed the separation between market-regio's so Market enabler was no longer required. So why suddenly is there some country-based restrictions again on some apps :/ Even youtube.. I mean I can easily open a brower on my computer in Belgium and just access youtube so I don't understand why it would be forbidden to open it from a smartphone.

Honeycomb motorola xoom google books app request

I bought a motorola xoom wifi and even on a factory reset, the google books app has a dead icon on the main screen and clicking on it says that the application is not installed.
It also dosen't show up on the apps list but if i go to manage applications, it's there but showing 0 kb in size.
Anyone has the apk so that i can reinstall it?
I think it's available in the market if you live in the US.
If your not however, try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=863124
In the event the link I posted doesnt show up because I am not allowed to post them, google search "google books .apk xoom" The 6th link down will bring you right to it, it's actually a link to a post from these forums.
You need to be signed into your google account before you attempt to launch it.
I had the same problem after I rooted. You need to sync your google account and reboot a few times, then it starts working.

same exact thing happened to me...
I have discovered how to fix it.
The problem is because wherever you are, your google account is not getting 'google books' synced down to it. Probably because you're outside of the US but also happens to people in the US at times.
To get this to happen, download and install the MOBILE version of Google Books. This will prompt you that it's going to overwrite the version on your xoom. Select yes and it will.
Once done, launch the app. This will create the 'Google Book's syncing to your account under accounts and sync. Let it sync finish. Now uninstall the app, by clicking on uninstall updates under manage applications for the google books app. This will prompt you saying that you now have reverted back to the factory install of google books. Now launch google books again and you will be able to. And it will be the xoom version of the google books along with all the books you have in your account. You just need to make them offline readable. This can be done outside of the States too.
Meh, I still can't install Google books nor Earth for that matter. The above instructions do not work for me.
I'm not from the US, and when I tried to go to the mobile Google Books app, it only says that item cannot be found...
mobile version....?
Ok I finally got it working.
I had to install Google Books on my Nexus One (with Market Enabler), create a backup apk using Astro File Manager, sideload that apk to my Xoom, install it and start it up to activate syncing to my Google Account. Then I go to Manage Applications, uninstall the updates to the Google Books so that it will reset to factory application.
Finally I can use Google Books as it was intended on the Xoom.
This method should work for those outside US and who can't install the mobile version through m.google.com/books
Thats exactly what i said above.

No... the mobile version of Google books does not work for me at all. I can't download the mobile version with my Xoom because I'm not from the States. It will just say that my device is not compatible or there's no such application found.
I had to use my rooted smartphone to install the non-tablet Google Books by emulating a US carrier with Market Enabler. Then I have to back up the apk and sideload it to my Xoom before your instructions worked.
So no it is not exactly what you described
The mobile version's apk is downloadable all over the internet. Just a simple google search will net you the apk.

Hmm... Didn't work for me. I'm in Canada. Downloaded mobile apk from other xda thread. Let it complete sync. But under Manage Applications there was not an option to "uninstall updates". Just "uninstall" which it does, then Google Books is gone, Sync is gone.
Ideas? Not a fan of the mobile version and would like to try to find a way to load xoom version.

Is google books still listed in your application list? At least does it say 0.00kb?
If there isn't, you might have uninstalled it for good and a factory reset may bring you at least back to square one, though I'm not sure about that.
And what version of google books mobile was the apk that you downloaded? I believe you have to install the latest version of mobile google books in order to uninstall updates. If that apk you downloaded is an early version of google books, maybe it won't have the option to "downgrade" to an earlier version.
I think you can check the latest version number in the web browser market. Should be 1.2.2. That was the version of Google books I installed over the stock Xoom one. It allowed me to uninstall updates.
Another way out is to ask someone to extract the xoom's google books apk and send it to you. My xoom's at home so I can't do anything. Also I'm not sure if astro file manager can back it up, especially if it turns out to be a private app. Then you need to find someone with a rooted xoom and root explorer.

It's not there in applications. I can't see it in android market from Canada so don't know the latest version available. I had loaded 1.0.16. I will look for an apk of 1.2.2. That's the latest version you can see?

Hmm I meant looking at the android market on your pc browser, not on your android device. I thought anyone can at least search for apps on the web browser?
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.google.android.apps.books&feature=search_result
But anyway, yeah version 1.2.2 was the apk I sideloaded to my xoom. Try that and see if it works with the methods explained in the previous posts. If there's still no option to uninstall updates, you may have to do a factory reset to at least get back the original non-working google books.
Edit: Wait, this only works if your Xoom is a US one and at least had the google books preinstalled on startup and is not working. I'm not sure if that's the case with your Xoom. Especially if your Xoom is bought in Canada, they may have already removed google books. But I'm not sure.
Everything worked for me. Now got the tablet version of books with the 3 free books installed. Just can't download any new books yet as I'm in the UK.
Anyone know if this is possible yet?

Thank you buddy. Quite ingenious.
The "uninstall updates" option isn't there for my Xoom, probably because it's the UK wifi only version and it didn't have Books installed by default...
I now have the mobile version installed, any ideas how I can get this to be the tablet ver?

new market probs on cm fxp30 or maybe gb

hi, it seems that some people include me have problems with the new market(3.1.5) on FXP28/30
please when you will do make some changes, make a backup before!!!
the problem is:
not shown all apps, or its not compatible for your device
example apps: youtube, googlemaps "not compatible", or google mail and google voice search didnt find
edit:for missing apps for example "handcent sms or "go launcher ex" it didnt help, sry
here some findings
1)for not shown all apps, example "google voice search" or "google mail"
- here works: market enabler ( you can fake an other country)+older market 2.3.4
with this combination i was able to find the two apps and installed it
2)device is not compatible, example "youtube" or "googlemaps"
this is only for people who changed the lcd.density in build.prop
-here works: new market 3.1.5 with default lcd.density(240)
-you can easy change when its needed with an app the lcd.density, for me works "lcd resolution", its free in market
-or you use older market and have no problem
so what is the best
a)new market without problems
-when you live in a country where you get all apps and didnt change the lcd.density
b)new market with simelar problems
-when you live in a country where you get all apps and have changed the lcd.density, so use an app for easy switch the lcd.density like "lcd resolution"
c)older market + market enabler without problems
-when you live in a country where you dont get all apps and have changed the lcd.density
to keep older market
-with titanium backup freeze market-updater
to keep older market, but its updated
-with titanium backup freeze market updater
-go to settings/applications/manage applications/downloaded and navigate to market update, clear data, force stopp and uninstall
edit:for missing apps for example "handcent sms or "go launcher ex" it didnt help, sry
Uninstalled Market updates
Could not freeze market updater, so uninstalled.
Still same problems
This just isn't true. Edited build.prop on wife's phone tried several combinations, when logged in to market from the computer Google thinks its a Samsung galaxy s. Tried changing dpi, freezing market updater does nothing market still updates. Nothing works. Google is checking your device some other way I think. Anyways, black mart or just Google "appname apk download". May take a few tries to find a good link but sideloading seams to be the only way to beat the big "G". At least for me.
I agree. There must be another way for the market to check for compatibilities. Relying on build.prop alone is ridiculous. I'm sure they also checked the phone for some dependencies which we do not know.
thanks for reply, i agree with you that we didnt know how to checked google our device.
i posted only possible ways to get it working, not really fixes, this was my experience and my tests, maybe this will make it clearer.
im on FXP30 and live in germany and i change allways on any roms, the lcd.density from default 240 to 190 in build.prop
so my problems with the new market (3.1.5)was
a)your device is not compatible with this app, for example "youtube" or "google maps"
b)didnt find some apps, for example "google mail" or google "voice search", but here i must say, its only country related!!!, not market
so i fixed it for me
for a) new market with default lcd.density, or older market (2.3.4) with my changed lcd.density to 190
for b)market enabler + older market (2.3.4), at the moment the best combo for me
maybe it will help when you post your findings or not working apps
hi all
now screenshoots on FXP30 and the "you tube" app in new market and older market
you tube app is installed and i searched on market new + older, shows me this
please read all, im on fxp30 with lcd.density 190
again screen shoots about "gmail" and older market+market enabler on fxp30
here please remember read all, and i live in germany there is no "gmail" on market
here changed on older market the country with market enabler from 26202 to 310260 (germany provider to us t-mobile)
Does this ROM work with Doom's Kernels? It could be good to test the market with his kernel to see how it goes. Maybe it's a kernel issue? You never know...
I'm having the same trouble. Straight away after installing this ROM & Kernel I cannot update GO SMS (installed from Titanium Backup I made) saying that it's incompatible. I haven't changed the LCD density, and I have tried renaming the build.prop device setting but it makes no difference. I'd really like to see an answer to this as it's quite frustrating.
I can't see Go Launcher or Handcent SMS in the Market on the phone. I tried all the suggested changes to build prop and they are still missing.
This is what the Android Market on my pc shows when I attempt to install in from there.
Rogers Wireless Sony Ericsson X10i This item is not compatible with your device.

Funny thing is, I changed the name to X10 not X10i in the Build.Prop file.
Edit: So now, nothing in my build.prop says "X10i", I've made sure that everything says "X10" When checked, the market on PC still says "X10i" This is after a reboot of the phone, clearing market data and downloading of an app to make sure it reconnects to my account.
Edit2: I used the getprop command in terminal emulator to check that everything that I changed in build.prop had taken effect and everthing I listed matched what I put in the build.prop file.
Edit3: Now that I'm thinking about it, I do seem to remember this issue with one of the CM builds for the G1/MT3G. I'm not sure if it was with CM4,5 or 6 as it was some time ago.
thanks for posting example apps, and now im really
hancent sms (found only themes not the app)
go sms (the same only themes)
go launcher ex (only themes, but found this app with amazon appstore)
so i tried
-new market 3.1.5/3.1.6 and older market 2.3.4
-with and without market enabler
-lcd.density 240 (default)
-changed the fingerprint
-clear data applications market
-deleted android.secure from sd
and from market via pc didnt work, too
Trying out FXP041. This problem remains.
This issue is pretty much the only one that prevents me from using FXP ROM on full time.
Lots of missing apps due to:
"This app is incompatible with your <Insert operator here> Sony Ericsson X10i"
Is there a workaround available to this yet?

[GUIDE] Sideload apps without root

Ok so this thread is for all the newbies out there who want to side load apps to their Kindle Fire HD.
The first thing you need to do is install a file manager app. I personally use File Expert, but you can use whatever works for you. Next you need to get the app file. You can find it by searching on Google: (app name) apk. Once you have those, navigate to the Downloads folder with the file manager, and tap the .apk file. Click Install, and you're set! You can find the app in apps>device, it will not be in Cloud.
Note: I have tested this with many apps and almost all of them worked perfectly. It does NOT work with apps that you have to use google account. They will not work.

Ok you actually can use some google apps like Youtube and Chrome if you install the Google Framework, and reboot. www.mediafire.com/?zaumfwhraxcifqf
Here is a link to the HD Youtube app. http://d-h.st/qIp

tried this with my new KFHD7_32, and YouTube works if you search for videos; doesn't seem to bring up your account though. Did not try Chrome, but did get Google Earth working; Google Sky Map did not work.
The only app I haven't been able to sideload is Yelp. :/
Use bar Shortcut app it works best
