Very Odd Screen Colourisation Problem - HD2 General

So my screen has a colourisation problem - everything appears yellowish. I originally tought this was a contact issue, though now I'm not so sure.
I can sort of live with it, as I mainly use it to mess around with. Anyway, last night I took the phone back to stock, HSPL'd (2.08 iirc) installed a radio, installed cLK, then Clockworkmod, then Cyanogenmod. When I was messing around in CyanogenMod I noticed that the Google search widget flashed the right colour (White as opposed to yellow. On further inspection, I found that if i went into the browser and viewed the Page Info, the browser window turned white. I flashed back to the latest stock via SD card. I booted up into WinMo6.5 and the colour issue was still there. I went into the browser, pressed the menu button and sure enough, the window in the back ground when to the colours it should be. Anyone have any idea?
PS. I'll post a video this afternoon.

Hi, I had that problem 6 months ago. The screen turned yellowish sometimes but not always. I tried deinstalling & reinstalling stuff but it didn't help. Restarting the phone helped but for a short time. A few weeks later it went worse, blue horizontal lines started to appear now & then. I went back to the shop where I bought it for repair and 2-3 weeks later I had it back. They told me that the main circuit board had to be replaced.
So if you see the same blue lines appear, you know it's a hardware problem.
Hope this helps.

Screen fades out to White frequently!

Hi,
On my TyTN the scren just fades out to white frequently when for instance typing something, just happens in the middle of using the hermes, I have used many of the various WM6 builds, and mostly Black Editions, I noticed thsi isssue after I had upgraded to Black 3.01 firstly, now yesterday I flashed to Black IV Shadow, and now it does it much more frequently than before....I wonder if it could be hardware related or is it a known bug in the Black releases ?
When this happens I must press the power button several times and all of a sudden the screeen comes back to normal again. Sometimes even a hardreset is the only solution.
Was thinking of going back to the orginal WM5 ROM just to see if it helps any, or maybe I should send it in to repair center as it still is under warranty (apart from me upgrading to various dev builds that is )
Any inputs very welcome.
thx / fahlis
HTC TyTN
WM6 Black IV Shadow
Used to happen to me using the original ROM. It appeared to happen as the machine got hot which tended to be while it was charging and I was using it.
I did a warranty replacement, and hadn't had the problem since (months).
Still on original factory ROM.
Started happening to me yesterday. Called Cingular and they wanted me to do a hard reset etc. I didn't tell them I had a cooked ROM. I knew it was a hardware issue. Just got my new phone today. Downloaded the new ATT build. Installed no problem. Shipping it back to them tomorrow.
Sorry guys. There are existing threads on the fading to white issue. Please use the Search XDA using Google sticky thread near the top of the messages queue.

White screen in TyTN

Hi,
I bought my TyTN 6 months ago. I upgraded it to WM 6 from HTC update and and few weeks later during wirting a text message my screen went white and I couldn't do nothing. I restarted it after 15 minutes and I discovered that all data is gone. I got plain OS.
From that time the situation was accuring again, but after few seconds it was working ok and white screen was disapearing. I was using different OS versions, as well as Shap's form 3.54 up to 4.31 but it on every the situation become the same.
I contacted with HTC but still i didn't get any reply. Any idea what the problem could be? Is it the screen? Please help...

It's probably flex cable problem. There's been a few issues this type.

Do You know is it possible to fix it and if YES how to do this?
im having the same problem with my softbank xo1ht. if i hard reset screen returns but after about 15-30 mins screen fades to white and i cant see anything or use any function??? please advise
My screen was going white like for almost a week (coincidentally after going through airport security xray). I called for a warranty replacement and wouldn't you know it, after I called I have yet to see the white screen on the old one.
Are your hard buttons (d-pad, answer, hang up, mail, IE) failing as well? Try pushing down on your device right under the bottom right of the screen and see if it'll turn white.. or put it in standbay and press down above your d-pad and then take it out of standby and see if that fixes it..
your probably running into a hardware problem which is discussed here:

MDA freezing up/screen fading white

Hi. First, thanks for all the info and help on this forum. I wish I had found it when I first got my MDA back in '06.
Last year I cracked the screen. I ordered a new one, put it in and was happy to have my MDA again. Then, after a few months when I would go to end a call and press the red end call button it would freeze up and the screen would fade to white for a few seconds. Afterwords it would restart and boot up like normal.
This went on getting more frequent. Finally, earlier this year, it wouldn't boot at all. I looked into figuring it out and came across this website. I successfully reloaded the T-mobile update rom and was thrilled to have the phone back. I then unlocked it carefully following the directions in this forum and tried out a new rom. It was great, but I wanted to try a wm6 rom.
During the install (I think it was Faria's crossbow) I went to wipe something off the screen. The screen went white and after that I couldn't get any rom to load.
Now, after having it sit in a box for the past few months, I wanted to try once more. I followed the instruction to shut down the active sync usb connect and finally got the T-mobile rom to load again. Once it was fully finished installed I went to reinstall my contacts and it, once again froze up and faded to the white screen.
I'm afraid maybe I damaged the mainboard somehow, or there's a processor problem.
Just curious if anyone else had this happen and if it means it's toast...
thanks in advance!

Yeah mate,I have the same problem. I bought a K-Jam (Wizard) off ebay 3wks ago, I guess that's why it was a cheap Buy It Now. Anyway I think you're onto something about it being a hardware fault. I had wm6.1 tnt and i thought it was too much for my pda to handle, so I flashed a version of wm5 and I don't think it improved the "white-out" at all. Hopefully a senior member can shed some light on this.
well, i couldn't figure it out. I didn't pull it apart to check the ribbon settings to make sure they're secure. Every time i squeezed it just right, or hit the end call button it would freeze/fade to white. I just bought a Cingular 8525 and will see how that goes.
not sure what to do with my good ol' MDA...
Id check that the cable is secure and there is no damage to the ribbon. Hard to tell the exact fault. Could be with the screen, cable or the motherboard.
Maybe when the screen was cracked it damaged the board which has only just shown up.
Only way to tell would be to try your new screen in another phone, or try another new screen in your phone. Seems kinda expensive
I had the same problem since today. I flashed the 2.19 Radiorom and the screen never turned white again.

[Fixed] Screen white with multicolored lines

Everything works fine except that the screen is white with jumbled colored lines. I had MyMobiler running and I could see the phone perfectly from it and use it. A soft/hard reset will not work and I tried flashing back to button rom with no luck.
This happened to me before but I flashed button rom and everything went back to normal. Then it happened again 2 weeks later and this time I decided to try stuff out and discovered that putting backlight to nothing then putting it back on fixed the problem. But this time, nothing seems to work.
Any ideas? Should I try the method posted in this post? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=424553
Aye, I posted that, and it is the fix of choice around here for that problem. Do it and all should be fine again.
Ok I will try that in the morning but I didnt think it was hardware related since I managed to fix it by flashing the first time.
Well, it seems to be a tempormental problem. Some people can "slam" their keyboard shut and it will fix it for good, while others have to take their phone apart to get it back to normal.
Thank god! I successfully fixed my display by flashing the original cingular 8125 rom !!!!
Now I have regrets about slamming the keyboard/'gently' hitting the display poor phone.
Ok I spoke too soon.. after the flash was completed, it went back to the messy display.. Well I know now that it is not hardware related.
Update: I had my phone plugged to the PC with USB and had backlight constantly on.. 3 hours later, the screen came back to normal... Hmm?
I have found a permanent solution for this. I have noticed this problem occurs when my battery is very low and my phone turns off right when I switch the phone on.
So to solve this, if powering on phone didnt restore the screen, just press the reset button until the screen fixes itself. It has worked everytime my phone had those white and colored lines.

PLEASE Help!!!! NookColor Screen Is Green

I gave a NookColor to my oldest son 1 year ago, which was rooted & had CyanogenMod7 on it. The other day he said he was booting it & he pushed some buttons while it booted & when he did the screen turned green. It has never been dropped & he has never had a problem with it before this. You can see the icons, fonts & it still functions properly in all other respects...the screen is just green. The screen is also green during the CyanogenMod startup screen, then it goes black, then is green again during the CyanogenMod boot animation. I can tell that the screen is working normal, as it is lit up & black when it is switching between the boot screens.
I have spent many hours searching the net & cannot find this problem ever happening before. How can I change the background back to normal? Is this a hardware or firmware problem??? I have taken it apart & unplugged & reseated the video connector, just to be sure that that wasn't the issue & I've tried putting different Roms on it, including the new CyanogenMod10 for NookColor & it still has a green screen. I even restored it back to Stock & the screen looks almost normal, but when I played the Introduction video, the video doesn't look like the colors are right or something.
Does anyone know how to fix this or if it is even fixable?
Someone...PLEASE help!
Thanks!
Similar Problem here, except half of screen is green.

I have a similar problem, except only half of my screen is green. The half that is green remains in the same place, regardless of orientation, so I am guessing this is a hardware problem.

My experience is similar, except obviously I have half a screen of odd looking video and half normal. I also tried reverting to the stock rom, but with no success. Fortunately when reading books, i.e. just black text on a white background, the effect is not very noticeable, so the NC is currently back to being an ebook reader.
Still I'd love to know how to fix it. I see powerbookmedic (I have no connection to, or experience of, them) sells used parts for the NC, but is this a display problem, which seems likely, or a logic board problem? Buying both would be more than the whole thing is worth.
