https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_bootable_recovery/blob/gingerbread/Android.mk
Thanks for the update Geno. Maintaing the current recovery version will help with RM integration.

Argh... just installed 3.0.2.8 recovery image today, should search for new version here first...
Anyway, thank you and genokolar

Thanks for this will update now

Does this backup the baseband firmware (or what stockwell mentioned that the Perfect Recovery didn't do before)?

No, my concern was actually that it DID backup both baseband and emmcboot.mbn, which could potentially brick if these files are corrupted on a bad restore.
This version still does this, though no one seems to have had this happen to them. I think since nandroid hashes the backups and checks them when restoring the problem only really would be if your phone was turned off while restoring, and even then bootloader mode might still work fine if those files are damaged.

Genokolar can you please make a self installer so that we can upgrade through previous perfect recovery.Thanks.

hi, i install rom manager but it doesn't recognize clockworkmod why?
thanks!

I don't think ROM manager supports the Ideos X5 (yet). Why would you need it anyway?

anyway thanks for your quick answer!

Hello all,
Maybe here is the right place to expose my problem. My Huawei X5 (and few others bought in Portugal from TMN company) are not running CWM v4.0.0.5. Booting in Recovery mode will be forever in "IDEOS" image.
No problem booting in Recovery mode either with original recovery.img or with CWM v3.0.2.8.
The problem is that with v3 there are problems flashing costum ROMs like FLB and void.
What is odd is that I haven't read a single complaint from any xda user in this forum... so maybe it is some problem with X5 sent to Portugal (!?).
Is there some way to debug the problem of the v4 in my X5?
Thanks.

Ok...I have to say that I got just 1% of what u said. But I guess that u are stuck with just custom recovery...if you were running a custom rom and u did a full wipe then u don´t have rom anymore. Get a rom to your sdcard and reflash...or just restore a nandroid backup.
In recovery mode, you can not do anything hung up and you can not select anything
I don't know, maybe if he tries flashing the latest 4ext? However, not sure how to get that done.
Before doing that, pull the battery, wait 5 minutes and see if it works.
Sent from a dream.
I did flash recovery and was able to upload a cool rom but does not work Is it possible to feel that he sat down but I do not know why Do something with the rom?
I have uploaded rom stopped working and touch and buttons at the bottom
Someone has an idea ?

It is really hard to follow you. Many people in here are non native english talkers, but if knowledge of grammar is missing, try it a different way:
Break the things into small pieces and explain in simple words. Nobody will blame anyone for that.
1) Did you root and s-off /eng-off your phone?
2) Did you install a custom recovery system?
3) If yes, which one?
Then:
1) Which ROM did you install?
2) Did you read the flash procedures from that ROM first?
3) Did you follow that instructions in matters of
3a) - Needed Recovery Manager Version
3b) - Needed to run before wipe scripts
Then:
Did you download the right scripts and
1) checke their SHA/MD5 checksum?
2) Flashed them onto the sd-card
3) called them in the proposed followup from the ROMs description in your recovery?
So, if you can answer the list above in simple words people might be able to help you. If not me, somebody else will for sure.
Best regards
Astralix

Try a different sdcard....that might be the issue. If the problem persists then may be a hardware problem. Try to get back to stock and send the phone to a service centre.

touchscreen issue after a soft brick solved...please help

hi all...I was about to commit suicide today because of a soft brick (I pulled out the battery while a recovery operation)...I got the "reading ODN fuse: 1" page and almost everything except for rds and fastboot were borked. I tried flashing the sbf again but it wasn't useful. Thus I found a full (italian) sbf and I restored using RDSLite 5.7. I got into recovery and flashed MROM but touchscreen was totally mad. I thought it was a rom-related issue so I restored the original full sbf again but I have this problem there too...Please Help Me...I don't want to send it to moto...not now
Try fastboot flash pds, it been fixed my reversed touch position problem.
If you did not have your backup pds file, search "pdsfix" for guide.

I did it yesterday! thank you very much! Now I'm in trouble because the last full-sbf flash I did with RDSLite ended with a FAIL but the phone actually works normally...I don't know if i should flash the full sbf again and reset the phone for the last time or if there is any way to understand if the phone is ready and fully functional...
PS how can I backup the current pds? and what about imei etc? RDS doesn't recognise them
thank you all !

thank you! I think I'll do a full wipe via fastboot and than a new RDSLite attempt (hoping in a PASS)...then I'll repeat everything and flash a custom rom...
if anyone also remembers what RDSLite should say when a device is connected it would be very useful thank you!

Try asking a local repairer.
Got a few questions, will be getting my 816 this weekend....
Mine will be the Malaysian variant, which is a single sim version with sense 6 (just checked with the display unit at the telco show room here).
1. Will TWRP be compatible with sense 6? I read so far most of the recovery images has been tested with sense 5.5.
2. After unlocking the bootloader, is it possible to relock the bootloader for warranty purposes?
3. Can this dual sim rom be used with single sim device? I would like to get a backup rom in case anything goes wrong, unless htc has an application similar to Sony's SEUS.
Thanks for your time!:fingers-crossed:

Yes, i read about this too..... I have the Developer Option available already (a few taps on the version number) but no Google UI option there, just 3 options to chose from. Or do you know how to get more options?
I did a try a russian "2014-10-14--10-16-45 K920_ROW_S126_140825.7z" with their "twrp_2.8.0.1_recovery_K920Pro.7z" file but it "killed" my phone....
I can still access the Lenovo Re ovey and the root menu though.. But the operating system just hangs at the Chinese 4G logo.....
Im not able to restart the TWRP again. I start to dislike this odd phone now after spending 30-40 hours to try to get google play, gmail etc to work.. I should have bought a HTC or Samsung instead..

You shouldn't do that at the early release of the phone. Even any phone. You need to wait for the official rom release. How about you try fastboot and flash the twrp/cwm recovery. From the recovery use sideload to reflash the stock rom. Keep in mind that you should wait for a review or someone who actually successfully flash the custom roms/non-official rom. Except root, theres a number of successful root.

I know but i was desperate to get Google to work... Bricked or Chines system is same same for me...
Fastboot and TWRP cant find any device. Factory reset or wipe did not help either. Can access boot menu and Lenovo recovery, but need a recovery file first, and then we have problem with that i cant access the phones internal storage.... And this crap has no SD-memory either...
$700 down the drain for sure... Still have to buy a new phone though, and im still in China... Have to fly to HK to get a new phone... This is going to be expensive.
Thats what happen when you flash the unofficial rom. You know the risk. Make sure you have installed fastboot driver and adb driver. Im sure you can reflash the rom after you able to enter fastboot

I SOLVED IT....... Except that the both SIM-card shows a red X.. but everything else seems, camera, GPS, WiFi to work AND it has GOODLE PLAY etc now.. Anyone know how to make the phone to work again?

Well, you shouldn't ever download anything from sites which have similar name to some ROM but it's not officiall site, in most cases that are sites who just want visits without actuall content. Also in ROM file name there is 64bit and AFAIK none of K8's have 64bit kernel. Next thing recovery they provided is over 16mb in size, that is a recipe for getting bricked in best case it will refuse to boot/flash, also kernel offset ramdisk offset are wrong according to my model (k350nds), that is also good recipe, I didn't check the kernel but I doubt it's right one, I'll unpack ROM just to see what is inside.
When you download ROM please use only trusted sites.
Edit: this is ROM for Tecno camon c7 its same chipset but it doesn't mean it is suitable for our phone. Whoever created this and said it's for k8 is an first class A-hole..

If you flash it then the phone will not boot up just turn off after the warning message. Its becouse the recovery partition is checked during boot up so the lk (little kernel / bootloader) partition should be tweaked first to skip recovery checking...

Yes, but that zip only tweaks the boot image... (and it doesn't even work for our device)
then, first we need to get rid of the little kernel, so we can flash twrp and just then we can think in porting a lineageos rom for it?

Well if we get rid of it completely it will probably won't work at all, we need someone to alter function that checks if kernel or anything else is legitimate so that function always return true. If that is how it work.
