[ROM][froyo]-di11igaf's Rom v2.5 AND BETA 3.0- 12/16/10

Added updated flashable zip to bottom of post which includes some theme updates, apk updates and themes, and some window animations. This post will be hopefully be updated tomorrow with a newer version, and this clockwork flashable .zip should hold off those who waiting on the rom update.
first boot will take a bit.
This is a brand new rom ive been working on for the last few days. Based on newest i9000 froyo release UGJK3 (build date 11/18) and tweaked from there.
-SetiroN 1.5 kernel -user configurable OC up to 1460/default is 1200(go to 1400's at your own risk
-haptic feedback works on ALL buttons
-OC/UV support-voltage control app installed to /data/app
-BLN added and required lights.so lib added to /data/app
-apps and framework deodexed and optimized
-zipaligned
-rooted, busybox and sqlite included
-extended power controls(reboot, recovery, download)
-Captivate dialer, camera, etc. (no video chat references)
-Completely themed with pieces from all of my favorite themes(pics of theme seen HERE
-Fixed build.prop so protected apps can be seen on the market
-Big APN file for instant inernet/mms access
-ad-blocking
-AOSP themed lockscreen
-HSUPA enabled -comes with UGJK3 modem(no need to do anything crazy to get 850 working-this modem works as is)
-this rom will not switch back and forth between H and 3g, the symbol should stay on 3g even if hsupa is enabled and working
-comes with SWYPE, dark Droid X multitouch keyboard, and samsung keyboard
-Launcher Pro and TWlauncher included in /system/app
it seems like Samsung took some advice from gtg with the twlauncher(never seen the stock launcher this fast or smooth)
-removed some junk apps
-added
voltage control 2.0
cyanogen MMS (switch background color-white/black)
updated maps and youtube
flash player will auto-install
Starting with v3.0, d1g1talphyre will be helping with all future versions of the rom. Im going to be extremely busy is in the upcoming weeks so this will help me get 3.0 out faster to you guys.

When you apply your lagfix, choose option one when prompted "backup AND restore"
Install Instructions:
as always, its best to flash to stock JF6 with the odin one click downloader.
copy this rom to your internal sd card, and after flashing stock. flash this through Clockwork Recovery. thats it. no need to do anything with the jg8 modem or anything like that.
on first flash, all=ext4 is enabled by default-if you want to use something else, select go back to recovery then go to the lagfix options and enable whatever you want. when your prompted with the options about backing up, i suggest choosing option 1. this will do a backup and restore so you will not lose any apps(the other options you will lose the apps in /data)

I couldnt apply lag fix right away had to reboot first ... BUT it did tell me my configs changed ???? ... I chose option 1 and noticed it set up like this

you few that download already, here is a better videoplayer.apk. it doesnt fix the problem, but at least youll be able to view your recorded videos from /sdcard-dcim-camera. still looking at problem and trying to find a fix.

some people have said if that app is removed it can cause problems. if you dont like it, remove it from /system/app.
first boot will take a while as it zipaligns and deodexes.
and btw this rom has nothing in common with my other di11is darkyy rom except my theme. this is my own base.

Ive been running your darky rom 2.0.1 for a day with the jk3 modem. Downloading now to check out the CM mms. I hope its the one with the notification vibration types like multiple long.

My home button didnt work either, not sure about lock screen. Flashing back to stock now.

My home button worked fine. hmmm, also I can confirm the video player.apk in the first post for us couple who downloaded early is letting me play video. But just as stated, can only open it from file manager to view.
great rom so far, its fast. Yes, I did run benchmarks, not that they really matter anymore. can notice the difference in speed when deleting widgets, open anything. It screams, props di11igaf, awesomely quick rom.

just downloaded my own file, reflashed to stock put the downloaded file on my sd and flashed again with no probs. first thing i did though was apply lagfix and when the backup and restore options pop up make sure you choose the first option to backup and restore all data.
let me know if you do reflash this if you have the same problem.

thanks. im still looking for a fix for that. while i was trying to fix it i just accidentally deleted my whole damn DCIM folder lol. all pics and vids gone.
hopefully i have most of em backed up.

preciate it, will try later. problem probably because i apply lagfix "without backup and restore."

ahh ya i bet thats why. not sure why it really would matter(since the problem your describing would be an android.policy.jar problem) but im gonna try it that way and see if it makes a difference. thats the only thing different that we did though.
also i think if you apply the lagfix that way, any apps in the rom that are in /data/app by default will not be restored-at least this has happened to me in the past and why now i always do a backup and restore.

I did a yes without backup and restore, and the home button ain't workin.

The single issue I am having is random factory browser crash, and It is the reason that I have kept the tablet.

Can you guys include a tun/tap module to allow OpenVPN to work?

I can't get the Ad Hoc Tether to work from my rooted Hero phone. I had it working on the Zpad with this fix: http://www.chinadigitalcomm.com/android-a81/a81e-connect-to-ad-hoc-wifi-t1413.html
Any thoughts? Anyone else able to connect to an Ad Hoc Tether?
Edit (Fix) I was using the wrong fix. The fix it to apply the wpa6_adhoc-signed.zip
This was the fix I initially did on the Zpad rom, I just messed up and did the wrong fix...

I had a problem with the sound, sdcard, fc on websites, and changing the soft buttons. It was killer despite those issues. Also rotation of the home screen.

I had the same issues
I installed the WPA_adhoc-signed.zip and it solved my tethering issues. I tried to find the orginal post with the link to he downlaod but couldn't find it.
I know that there is talk of it in this thread

The only issue I have so far is with Grooveshark FCing. Sign up and tutorial screens work fine but the actual interface never loads. Otherwise, great work on this. Its very responsive and other than the GS FCs I have no FCs.

SD card issues. We are aware and they are all potentially related to a hack we implemented to get external sd support working. This issue includes the internal SD disappearance when connected to pc via usb. This is my PRIMARY focus right now.

I plan on making a supplement or maybe a full image with the same supplicant binary in TnT Lite, plus that updated Gallery and a clean hosts file.
Working on TnT Lite 2.3.0 primarily at the moment, however. I guess I need two devices!

Another random question. .. I am on Tina lite 2.2 and find it to be super stable and flexible. I am concerned about what will happen when the battery gets to low : )
What happens with this rom when the charge runs out?

With b3 I find that I have to clear devoric cache after each shutdown or I lose the ability to run certain apps. Any suggestions?

I've only had battery die once, on TnT Lite. Didn't seem to cause any issues, just needed to recharge.

I have not, but I have big issues with going back and forth between builds - I can't do it with this beta or else I have a big freezing problem, and apps go missing.

Can Not build VEGAn-TAB from source ???
I tried building the source from
VEGAn-TAB git hub
But it seem that there are missing. When I ran
repo init -u < the url submited in this thread for the git> ( it does not allow me to add urls)
I received the following error

the only issues i have with this rom is with sdcard2 or the microSD card, only when i put jpeg files in it and i open the gallery to load them and when i do a reboot all the pictures are gone from the microSD card, but just the pictures i can open the music player and play all songs and reboot and they still in there the issue is only for me with image files. After i update the kernel with the patch that has been post on the vegan beta4 topic i think this is almost perfect....i hope you can fix the files getting erased on the microSD card.....but after all you guys are doing and amazing job with all the ROMS you have made....i'm very gratefull for all the work you have done, you make love more this tablet....thanks a lot!

Look and make sure there is NOT a .nomedia file in your picture folders, that will prevent them from showing.

the problem is not the files are not shown on the gallery, the problem is that the pictures are all deleted after i open the gallery and makes the pictures appear in it, so when i reboot the tablet all my pictures get deleted, even if a browse the microsd card with my computer and not in the tablet...all the files are gone!....

I got the same thing tooo. also all my movies get deleted too
At this point the sd card2 is Clean

[Q] Cant move apps to SD card

I just purchased an Elocity A7 and updated the firmware to 2.0134 and applied Dexter's Elocity 1.42 mod.
Everything seems to be working great, I can get to the marketplace etc. but for some reason none of the apps will go to the SD card that I have installed.
I can see the card mounted but when I go the the App to SD app the column to move to SD card (that I used in prior versions) is not on the screen.
Is this normal?, or am I doing something wrong?

Your procedure isn't correct, first you have to load dexter 1.41Rom then add the patch 1.42, you cannot put 1.42 ontop of the factory firmware...

Elocity did not include the option, so you cannot move apps with stock firmware...
you need the CyanogenMod released, then you get the option to do it.

I played around with a version of the CyanogenMod7 for tegra2, and now its in a acceptable state, so you can test it too.
I have used the latest Atrix4G 2.3.4 + vega / optimus 2X to put this version together, and its based on the original elocityA7 kernel and includes modules for cifs,nfs,ext3 and ext4 support.
So although its a Android Gingerbread 2.3.5 base, kernel is still just 2.6.32.9 based, so cpu,memory and kernel related optimizations are not here.
CyanogenMod7 offers a lot of customizable features, full multilanguage and latest enhancements found for our android comparing to original stock a7 rom, you get alot more features.

- Youtube HD video fixed

- Real 1080p video out with HDMI (not sure how it affect playback, it seeems just upscaled)
What is found not working right now:
- Camera photo & video recording (photo stopped when avi got enabled)
- rotation sensor is 90 wrong (in gameloft games)
- bluetooth
What is working
- Netflix runs out of the box on this one, as i made build.prop changes so it thinks its a Xoom.
- wifi networking
- sdcard , usb host/device and USB stick support.
- all features of CM7
- mkv/avi/wma/wmv hardware acc. video playback (almost seems like more avi is supported than before?)

unzip the downloaded zip, and there is a zip inside named update.zip that needs to be extract and out on the root of your sd card

Warnings/Issues

- not all lockscreens are working. Be careful as choosing nonworking lockscreen is not curable without wiping data. Among working - Rotary lock, Glass lock, 4Tab, Honeycomb
- Corn 7.0.6 kernel doesn't like EXT4 filesystem, you gotta turn EXT4 journaling ON/OFF several times with reboots to make it work. Final config for journaling EXT4 - OFF, ON(data), OFF,OFF.
Some speed test numbers:
quadrant - @1GHz - 2162 (compared to 1400 for Froyo).
quadrant - @1.4GHz - 3266 (compared to 1800 for Froyo).

meh, i find zippyshare to be pretty fast. downloaded in less than 2 min

What themes would work?
This sounds great. The only thing that would stop me is if I can't find a theme I don't mind. Would UOT Kitchen work? Other than that, would themes compatible with Fasty KK4 work?

I don't know what UOT kitchen is - pardon my ignorance.
Any KK4 theme might work.
Any Fasty KK4 theme should work.
Swype keyboard is new so themeing it is not suggested.

Hi! bravo, glad to see you back, i have used your nostalgia froyo rom before and it was really amazing. Sad part is my power button is broken which strangely doesn't allow my phone to go to download mode, and i am stuck in Aosp format.
Thank you very much for the rom and i am sure people not jumping on ICS will love this roms speed, stability and battery life.
UOT kitchen will work on this rom, it works on everything [stock, deodexed, CM7(theme chooser themes), MIUI(battery mods) etc.]

Thanks for words of support! You don't need power button to get into download mode - USB plug+2 volume buttons.
Then once you Heimdall flash any extended KK4 ROM, go into Recovery from Power menu, or do "adb reboot recovery".

It's not that, his power button doesn't work, and the phone powers on automatically. I had this problem prior to fixing it via warranty. Get a jig, it fixes it.

Thanks guys, but i already tried with the jig and strangely as soon as i plug in the battery it still boots up. But since i made it myself i have to check again .

Same with me, you have to take the battery out, put the jig in, and then put the battery in.

You are right about it but the problem is that after connecting usb when i insert the battery it shows charging animation screen instead of going to download mode, which means the three button to download is not working.

Your jig is broken. Not download mode. Buy a legit one for 15 bucks off eBay.

The Xenon Kernel is a project for myself to learn more about Linux and Android Kernel developing. I am a sophmore in High School and I haven't had much developing experience, so this is a learning experience. If you want to use this Kernel, you can show your support by thanking me! Instructions:
How to Install:
FIRST, MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP! This can cause serious harm to your system. I am not responsible for anything that may occur to your Touchpad, but everything should be fine.
1. Download the respective installer zip from the above link.
2. Install the zip in ClockWorkMod.
3. Wipe your dalvik-cache
4. Reboot and hope for the best!
IF YOU ARE HAVING SOD ISSUES try setting your CPU Governor to "ondemand"
How to Uninstall:
1. Restore from your backup you were supposed to make
or... if you didn't listen (shame on you... you should always make a backup)
1. Download the XENON Uninstaller from my goo-inside.me profile. This zip deletes the Xenon Kernel and adds back the default CyanogenMod 9 Kernel. It will not, however, delete the ath6kl WiFi drivers (you really don't need to unless you are having WiFi woes). To uninstall the ath6kl drivers you need to reinstall Android.
2. Install it in ClockWorkMod.
3. Wipe your dalvik-cache
4. Reboot!

Hmmm, I had issues with the nightly build WiFi. Using this kernel fixed that. I haven't been disconnected at all. It did seem to want to connect to my neighbor's WiFi at one point. I've never connected to it before or saved the settings, but during the ICS setup, it kept repeating "Obtaining IP address" until I tapped it and hit Forget, then connected to mine. Everything has been fine since then.

Will this affect the supreme mod script in any way? I have the latest mod pack for the 4.0.4 build for official nightly. Will I need to reflash and run terminal again for mod pack after flashing this kernel?

Nope, it will not affect that at all. So no need to worry about reflashing.
And just a side note, for those of you experiencing sleep of deaths, try setting your CPU minimum to 384mhz using a CPU control app. I will make this the default minimum in the next release.

That's definitely high on the new features list. I hope to have another release out soon with bug fixes and probably this if I can figure out how to do it.

This is really nice but I'm wondering what all of this filesystem support will do? Don't get me wrong, any work on the TP is good work, I'm just wondering the utility of having "Amiga Partition Support" when the Amiga is 20-30 years old haha?

It seems some devices suit best with the old driver,and some are best with the new one,for me the new driver is killing my wifi

I dont know I decided to just throw it in there haha. I'll probably remove support for some of them that are crazy.
Are any of you guys having any bugs? For myself personally I'm actually getting a lot of SODs and battery drain. Are you guys experiencing the same thing or is it just my funky Touchpad?

Not really any out of the ordinary battery drain with new kernel vs stock. I has noticed using a screen off profile and setting it to power save with 384 or 432 values that the TP has issues waking back up. So I just use interactive at 384 min and that works just fine.
Edit: I have no screen off profiles enabled. Interactive is set as main.

New release v1.1 with bug fixes now! Just download and install the new CWM file.

Doesn't work on my TP
Followed instructions from OP.
After reboot, my TP showed "XEON" as one of the boot option. I selected that. My TP displays "Wrong file size" and did not boot.
Not sure what happened.

Your /boot partition is too full
What other kernels do you have installed?

Even setting 384 as minimum I still receive SOD with 1.0. I'll try 1.1 and see if things improve.

Yeah try out 1.1
I was getting SODs on 1.0 and the SODs were everywhere. 1.1 fixed this for me.
