Record video of screen? - Android Software Development

I was looking around the android sdk and trying to figure out how to record a video of the screen, but I couldn't find option to do it. I want to record a video of me playing a game I made so I can put it on Youtube. The framerate needs to be smooth because it's a game, so if it lags it won't look good. Is there any way to do this, or am I just gonna have to hold a camera up to the phone?

Depending on the flow of the game, you could use WebKey to record your screen, then create a movie/video from the screenshots.

it would depend on the phone/game how smooth it is.. is there any reason not to just use a regular PC screencapture program and do it on the emulator? (since the PC would be more capable of doing it with no lag then a phone)

record slow motion

Is there any way, app or setting to allow the hd2 to record in slow motion. Because it's an awesome and nifty feature on the omnia 2 but I can't find in the hd2.
no one replying....does that mean there is no slow motion video recording for the hd2.
the problem is wider than that.
I could find NO recording application altogether for the HD2 that was even able to record in background (none at all other than the stock one actually, even without background recording capability, none that worked at least), so let alone the possibility to find one that does exactly what you look for.
I'd say your problem is easily solved tho, you can move the video on your pc and easily edit it with a tons of free tools available both for the windows and the lonux platform.

video app for high frame rates?

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone knows of an android video player app that can handle video's shot at higher than normal frame rates? I just got a gopro, but all the video's filmed above 30fps struggle to play back. I usually use 1440p 48fps, as this gives nice smooth playback and the biggest field of view when i'm skiing. i understand that stuff like this is better off being edited on a pc to get any sort of decent results.....but i'd just like to be able to have a little look at the vids straight from the memory card before i get home too.
so far i've tried vlc, which just becomes a garbled mess, the stock video app which detects it as a sound only file, and mx player which plays back the video in slow motion and plays back the sound in sections (i.e. it will play sound at correct speed, but keep stopping while it waits for the video to sync up). so mx is the best so far, but is there an payer that can actually understand the higher frame rate and play it back at that rate too?
Try the latest vlc nightly. Go into settings and try it with and without hardware acceleration

Have you tried Dice Player?

thanks for the suggestions guys. unfortunately i still have no luck with these players, no matter what settings i used. think i'll have to get used to doing lots of editing first ha ha.

[Q] Method to make browser mimic iphone and how it handles videos?

Is there any way to make the browser or phone change how it handles videos.Like in its own standalone player. For example an embedded video on a website will play natively on the website on the note 3 but in iphone it will open an app to play it.
Is there any way to make the browser on android open an app when playing embedded video instead of having to struggle with the tiny little buttons from the video player. Its just a hassle having to re-size or hit the full screen button every time and having the video restart playing all over again.
What I'm thinking in my head is when opening a video link or embedded video have android open a video player app every time instead of playing natively in the browser. Youtube uses the app sometimes but many times it just plays in the mobile website of youtube which sucks too.

Slow motion camera?

Okay so I recorded some really cool slow motion shots. I can go into the edit screen and select the exact spot the slow motion should be. But when I go to send/post it the the video is completely in slow motion. Nothing in normal speed at all. Help?
No help needed, that is normal.
The entire video is slow motion, software speeds it up, and doesn't save it that way as it doesn't save a video.
There's another thread on this - somewhere - take a look for it for more info.
Use a screen recorded to record the playback of the show motion. Then edit in a video. You can use Google play games screen recorder.

[Question!] Playing videos on browser - HELP!

Hi all, I'm actually coming from iphone, IOS. I was wondering is there a possible way for me to open video through browser like how iphone does? Iphone would like auto maximize the video on browser & resize the play button and easier fast-forwarding drag.
For example, in iphone for videos there are huge play button. When you click on it, it will auto maximize the whole screen and have the video running.
Samsung on the other hand, I can play the video. But I have to manually maximize the video and the play button would be so SMALL like i can't even click on it.
I'm loving this device but i hate this thing the most. argh.
If you turn your phone auto rotate on and turn the phone on its side, video will play full screen
