[Q] Dock charging or not?

Just received my 32gb TF and dock yesterday . I put the TF into the dock with the power cord attached to the dock . It said the transformer was charging so i closed the lid. Today i took both with me out on the go and the TF was full battery so i figured it charged both over night , then i noticed the battery % going down even tho it was plugged into dock ? I thought the tablet used the dock battery then moved on to its internal battery? Then i checked the settings and noticed it says its not charging (from the dock battery, Not plugged in). I have both on charge right now but i dont think my dock is holding a charge . I have both together and the TF is at 100% and the dock got a solid orange indicator. But as soon as i pull the cord out the indicator shuts off ( I don't know if thats supposed to happen) is my dock faulty?
Anyone?? needs to know so if its broke i can rma it
That sounds similar to how my dock/tablet behaves. I think if let's the tablet drop a bit before transferring power to charge the tablet. This depletes the dock below 95% so when you charge the dock you get the orange indicator. The only time this indicator is lit is when the charger is attached and powered.

[Q] External Battery

I have had no success using an external battery charging my 10.1. I have the New Trent duo that allow charging at .5mA and 1A. I was hoping that amperage would register with the tablet to allow charging -- unfortunately this is not the case. Is there any way to make this tablet charge via external USB charging or is it fully locked out like the computer usb?
I guess what I am getting at is what is the limit before this thing will charge like the wall mount

it kinda does, but kinda doesnt charge via usb. it will do it when the tab is locked or off at a very small level but it is enough to keep it alive and even give it some more life when not in use
I clarified my question a bit... I understand there is a trickle charge to some degree if the unit is off but with a full amp pushing through from the battery I would have thought the tab would register...

Does the battery charge even when tablet was not powered off?

So I left my tab on the multimedia charging dock overnight only to wake up this morning to the battery still at 4%! I did not turn it off though. Has this happened to anyone? The tablet is 10 days old.

The fact that it didn't completely drain to 0% makes me think that perhaps you didn't use the Samsung supplied wall plug?
The tab does not need to be powered off to charge, however you need to use a 5v 2a wall plug to charge the tablet. It sounds like your tablet was getting a small amount of juice that kept it from going to zero so perhaps the wall unit you used was 1a or .7a?
If not, I'm not sure what the problem was, but I never power my tab off and it has no problem charging with the supplied equipment.
I was using the Samsung wall adapter, but there is a USB cable extender (cable is too short) in between the adapter and the tab USB cable. I will try again later without the extender and see what happens...

[Q] Using dock USB ports for charging mobile

Just woIs there a way to use the dock USB ports as a charging for my mobile. I have noticed right now that the transformer will sleep after having no activity for a while but then also the power goes away from the dock and so the charging stops.
I am wondering is there a way to have the transformer used to charge the phone while I am away. Maybe some method to turn on/off if it would be bad for overall battery life

Am I supposed to be able to charge TF while inside dock?

Hello,
Just got my TF along with a dock and it come with completely depleted battery (0%) so I put TF in a dock and connected dock to a charger. TF boots fine but does not show as charging while inside the dock. Is it expected?

The dock will charge the tab first. I'd suggest getting one of the dual battery monitors from the Market. That way you can monitor both easily.
Try this one. I use it and it works fine..
my B80 dock charges to 25% before the tf starts to charge, at 25% the tf charges to 100 then the dock charges to 100 from there.
