Hello every one of us
After test more roms of WP7, i have all days same problem
One time the SDCARDS runs and others not
So, i think the problem provides from MAGLDR to make the first initialisation and detection of sdcards
I view the new CLK for Android, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1114053
My problem i'm not programmer and don't can create a EXE to run CLK with a WP7 rom.
Can any of you view that?
Thanks for all cooker's rom
And excuse me my english language

sorry, do you mean that you think its MAGLDR that stops WP installing on some SD cards?

Yes, sometimes the MAGDLR detects the SD card or not, this may be why the Rom's do not have WP7 use

If someone is interested in writing a new/modified bootloader for WP7 one should do it in such a way that Zune believes the HD2 is actually truly a HD7. This would make it a lot easier for everyone to install updates like Mango and NoDo.
Perhaps more importantly, it also allows one to backup the phone's content with the updatewp.exe trick (making zune "install" an update to the phone so it makes a backup before that and killing the update process before it starts updating).

bad idea that,
if you make the HD2 look like an HD7 to allow updates you run the very real risk of MS updating a driver or two that may screw your device, the HD2 and 7 are very similar but they do contain hardware differences and thats why we have several issues. I dont think its anything to do with magldr, the random restarts and wifi issues are a symptom of SD card issues WITHIN windows,

Ok so this magic bootloader with turn all your hardware into HD7 hardware and magically wave a super duper wand and allow you to use M$ update to install software/drivers for the HD7 on your HD2?
Are you on LSD?
How do you expect to be to install official updates meant for the HD7 if your hardware is a HD2?
Custom roms are CHANGED so they work on your hardware, DFT didnt just bung the official HD7 rom on the phone say a magic word and have WP7 running on the HD2
Please go back to sleep.
PS. Oh btw, last time I checked Zune DOES see the HD2 as the HD7, aslong as you install the reg tweak or use a rom that has it already in.

i never say i want a super HD2 with WP7 uncid or MS fake super mango and free apss for always.
Simple a other bootloader with can use when a sdcard fait with magldr

i get what you mean but i have several SD cards that are not compatible with WP7 and they all work with magldr, perhaps im wrong but i just dont think that is the issue, magldr IS a big problem with battery charging and it messes up the date and time too but i dont think ive seen anything that says the SD issues are to do with MAGLDR, there is an alternative bootloader addon for android, but WP isnt supported, it does however fix the battery charging though

dAV84 I think you just have a non-compatible sd card. I had a lot of issues with my 2GB SanDisk in WP7. It was running, but it was rebooting sometimes and wp7 didn't see sd card then.
Changing sd card helped.

Behind open this topic, i read all topic about SDCARDS problems with WP7.
The problem with bandwitch and type of class
So, i tested differents version of W7 Rom's.
With 5 differents SDCARDS
And change with magldr 1.12 and 1.13,
i have 3 card no visible in magldr one time and after it's run, but's bloqued in wp7
TO 2x2GB no name class 2, 8gb kistong class 6, scandisk, 16G class 4
SO,for 1 of no name, and kistong, not view in magldr (can't change partition in service mode) but's when i insert in a WP6.5 i have view
I use the SDFormater, and the easeus to change partition to FAT.
I'm understand the problem, perhaps provides from WP7, but's not total sure for me.

People say that the most common sd card's classes that work with wp7 are 2 and 4.
I don't know what class are mine cards, both are 2GB though. SanDisk was quite a lot faster (changing apps, settings, using ui in general), but wasn't fully compatible (reboots etc) and Kingston is working fine, but slower.
I used SDFormatter as well. You don't have to change anything with Easeus unless you aim at dual-boot with SD Android. Just use SDFormatter and go on with WP7 setup.

I know they're changed in order to work, but afaik MSonly updates the new bits don't they? Because if they are it would work with things like the cert updates from april/early may.
Ofcourse if with an update the entire device is reflashed this wouldn't work. However it would still be likely that the zune backup system could work, which would help when trying new roms.
Sent from my Schubert using XDA Windows Phone 7 App

it wouldnt matter what kind of update MS did, if you were able to update via zune and device drivers changed it would screw the device.
who knows what might get changed, radio, SPL, drivers anything could, any one of those could mess things up, that could just mean a simple reflash but if the Radio/SPL was messed with then its possible it could give you a really bad day

That's why I go with reverse engineering the Zune. Its a thread that is started by me yet no one has yet to comment on. It would be nice if we can takeover something like it and make it exclusive to HD2 updating! If there was a way we can extract M$ updates and take a look what is in it and take out stuff that is not necessary, take out stuff that can be dangerous to our phone, put in updates that is for HD2, and then repackage it to Zune (Hacked or Spoofed) for end user updating. It will be effortless for end users but I bet it will be a challenge to the coders.

[Q] HD2 Android?

after waiting for a while to see if windows 7 would be released publicly for this phone, and after finish paying off the phone i have decided to just say "Screw you microsoft" and go with an android build, but i have NO idea where to start with this.
The basics of my knowledge of cell phones is that i have put cookies home tab editor, and a few extra things on my phone, i have backed up my phone a couple of times, and i even done the official t-mobile upgrade for my phone, i know a decent amount about computers in general, but haven't had the chance to play around with my phone and it's OS like i have with a computer, being that my phone is very important to me because of my work, and that i don't have a house phone, only my cell phone.
So, could someone at least direct me to all of the forums with the best downloads for the andriod OS, and extras that i will need to get android working on my HD2?
and am i able to run cookies home tab on my HD2 even if it has android OS?

Don't quote me on this, but from what I've heard HSPL2/3 indeed are not required, but if you somehow screw up your phone without them, you're basically ****ed. HSPL2/3 should always (well, most of the time) be able to revert you back to stock.

You don't need to upgrade HSPL at all. What you must have (100% MUST!!) is a radio version 2.08 or later (2.x.50 versions, NOT 2.x.51 versions).
Until the recent release of the official 3.14 ROM there was no other way to upgrade the radio to the minimum required other than custom flashing, which requires a HSPL upgrade. (Not 100% sure that 3.14 was the first, but I believe it was).
Either way, it's the radio that's crucial to Android - not HSPL.
(I ain't no Android chef or dev - this is just gleaned from what I've read on this forum, so may not be 100% accurate, but it's never failed for me.)
ok, mine Radiois 2.15.50.14, so that means i don`t need to update radio, rom is 3.14.479.2(wwe) it`s stock one...
I have another question then: after installing android on sd card, is there any changes made to stock wm rom or else? or it`s just installing android on sd, and after formating sd card everything will be stock? thnx...

Nothing else to do - just copy the android folder to your card and then run the 2 apps (clrcad & haret). Personally, I use a bootloader that runs with Windows, so when I reboot my phone I get the option to run Android or "run" Windows. (Windows is obviously already running at that point. It just closes the app if you select Windows.)
You don't need to format your card to go back to your current config. Just reboot your phone and don't run Android.

Thank you, now it`s easier to understand everything, i just thought that clrcad & haret, is needed to run only on first use, and it makes some changes to stock config of hd2. sorry if i misunderstood smthng, i`m new to android on hd2.

No worries mate - glad to help. Hope you get it running - Android's sweet
rather than start a new thread, i have a supplementary question.
It's hard to search for this question, so apologies if it's been covered.
Is it better to run a stripped down custom WM ROM to boot android? or will a stock WM ROM (with the correct radio etc.) run Android just as good?
Does it make a difference?
(I just got a stock HD2 with 3.14 ROM and 2.08.50... radio...)

windows phone 7/android 2.3 dual boot/general questions.

hello,
i have a htc hd2 arriving in a few days. it's already been rooted, has magldr 1.13, hardspl is 2.08 and Clockwork recovery 4.0.0.0 installed, and the radio is 15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14. it already has a custom rom on it (a 2.3.4 rom from this forum, i think).
now - i'm curious about windows phone 7. i intend to wipe android off of nand, and install a windows phone 7 rom. but, i also wish to dual boot, with an sd build of android 2.3.4. there are several youtube videos (including one by a member on here - i find his videos very helpful) on youtube, detailing how to install a windows phone 7 rom on the hd2 - that i can do fine.
after the windows phone 7 rom has been setup etc - thus erasing android from nand, do i then have to start all over again (installing magldr, clockworkmod, radio and hardspl)? or is the hardspl and radio 'permanent', meaning i only need to re-do magldr and clockworkmod.
next - about activating live services - does this thread's procedure still work? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=911579 and for unlocking/jailbreaking, is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=916478 still relevant? or should i use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=912218 to unlock my hd2?
oh - and, when i ring up microsoft support to obtain my activation code for my hd2 ... er, 'hd7', is it likely the microsoft employee would check the phone's imei - thus finding out i in fact own a hd2?
that's all the questions i have for now - as far as i'm aware. i'm sorry if i posted this in the wrong section - but it seems to be the correct one. thank you very much in advance.

My story (today):
After spending time to find the number, I called MS-France today. First I had a generic service which gave me the number of the activation service. I called it ( 0805110235, free in France), it was the software activation service, so they forwarded me to the right WP service. I just told the girl I bought a new Windows phone which is asking for an activation code, she asked me my email and a phone number, and that's it, nothing more.
BTW the people were not very nice, they don't listen at what you say, I told the 2nd girl 3 times it was for a windows phone, not a software before she stopped asking me a stupid question, same for the WP-girl!
Anyway, don't worry, just call them, you need 5-6 min and done.. You can even do it without having your phone, so it will be ready when you will have it
As it is my first WP7 flash today, I will let other people answer for the rest, good luck
as far as your activation I know that all you have to do is tell them that your flashed your phone and they will generate a 25 digit code for you I don't know about europe your clw will not work off sd card use titanium magldr is all you need 1.13 is the best I have found so far do not overclock your android it will cause heat problems check out isiaha 2.3.4 builds they're compact and smooth last thing make sure your wp7 side is larger when partitioning and make sure to set as primary mine hd2 has wp7 mango, android 2.3.4, ubuntu all running smooth good luck and best wishes

I'm doing exactly that, WP7 Mango flashed to internal memory and AmericanDroid CyanogenMOD-7 (based on Android 2.3.4) on SD.
It all works well...as long as I remember to remove the SD with Android on it and put the WP7 dedicated SD back in before I boot WP7.
If you want help with both ROMs, just PM me and I'll help you. I also will say, you need to acquire an activation code to get full functionality from WP7. And you will need a dedicated SD card...preferably a minimum of 16GB.
For the activation code, see this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920726

I am interested why you don't partition your 16GB card and let WP7 and Android use it. And why only 1GB for Android?
thanks very much jinge and stricklanddoyle for your reply in regards to obtaining my activation code for my hd2. MartyLK - you have a pm incoming. i too am curious as to why you don't let both windows phone 7 and android 'share' the same microsd card - do you just like to keep things separate?

[Q] XbMod-yuki ROM 8107 but can't see a particular wifi network

I am running XBMod-yuki 8107 WP7.5 and I can see all wifi networks at my workplace apart from one which I think is using WPA-PSK. I can see all the WPA-PSK2 networks and the Open ones and connect to them no problem but no the WPA-PSK one. If I reboot the phone into Android ICS I see all and connect to all. Any ideas?
Thanks
Oliver
your 8107 build on HTC HD2
Sorry I can't answer your question - but I am interested in getting the same build, and wondered what you thought of it. Also, if you would know how to upgrade from an earlier build (I have upgraded from wp 6.5 to v.7, now at 7.0.7392.0 which I got to via Zune....but that's as far as it went). I might possibly need some patch file to go further? Anyway, whatever you might suggest is welcome.
I dual boot ICS off the SD and WP7.5 off the NAND. To be honest I am 99% of the time booting the ICS Android because WP7.5 just doesn't have the apps I use all the time! I mean there isn't even a proper multi vendor IM app! There is something called GChat which is supposed to be like gtalk but it just keeps stopping so I gave up on that. So I just boot WP7.5 when I am bored and I want to see if they have actually got round to releasing any decent apps yet.
Anyway I installed the XBmod-yuki WP7 and then I used his autoupdater from this location http://xboxmod.sylvester20007.com/CABS/OSBUILD.CAB/7004 to 8107.autoinstall.rar and even though it takes ages to get to that point it does work just don't pull the USB out of the phone until it says it is finished bearing in mind it does reboot many times.
To get the dual-boot working off the SD I followed this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1250869 because I couldn't get the SD to work using the manual partition method I just used the cab that does it all for you and it worked.
But like I said I am contemplating putting Android ICS on the NAND and just getting rid of WP7.5 because it just doesn't do what I want and until it does EVERYTHING

[Q] Easy one stop Android?

Ive for an HD2 im going to give to my friends girlfriend to replace her current T-Mobile phone thats junk and has a cracked screen.
I have installed HSPL 2.08 to match the stock SPL, but now ive come to a stand still.
I only have a 4GB card right now (unless someone can tell me how to format one from a WP7 device, Windows wont recognize it).
Im getting confusing info about the US devices and radio's as well.
Isnt there a one step install for Android to SD card? Even the 'easy for noobs' directions has many confusing steps.
Unfortunately, no. The easiest way would be sd android run with haret from within windows mobile, but even that requires an updated radio.
Just put windows mobile back, update the radio (which is relatively easy if you read enough) and drop any sd build on your sd card and then click on "clrcad.exe." then "haret" from File Explorer on your phone.
That's the easiest.
Never took WinMo off but i did manage to get a 16 gig card to use. How do i tell what radio it has?
Go into settings > software information > radio.
That's it.
I recommend flashing 2.15.50 (if you don't already have one that is 2.08 or above)
2.15.50.14? Cause thats the one i've seen said 'use' and 'dont use'.
Ok, its got that radio on it. So i guess im good and can just find an image to put on the SD.
Just go into the SD android development, pick a ROM, download it and extract it into /Android/ on your sdcard.. then follow my first post.
Which Android version it is more suitable for the HTC HD2
I have an HTC HD2 running the original windows professional 6.5. and I m interested to install the Android OS in order to get
a faster an easy OS.
But after reading several posts and watching a lot of vieos on Youtube I feel lost which Android version it is more suitable to my smartphone
and if it is possible to get a little bit of more speed I woul be very happy.
As far as I understand i will require to burn or change my ROM first and then install the Android. But there are the Rafdroid version, the Ice Cream the Jelly Bean and so. Today I read a notice somewhere that a a guy have obtained 1.66 Ghz of speed at the HTC HD2 that it is amazing.
A little of speed would be great but the most important it is to have the Android because it is easy and may allow me to view videos ouside
youtube.
I will appreciate you advice and comments how to decide about the Android version.

Well, i did, i found AmeriCanAndroid. But when i launch Haret it says it cant find the zImage which is not in the NativeSD folder, but in the kernal/boot folder. Also in following the guide for this on YT, when i copy it to the SD its only 123 megs, not 232 like in the video. So im lost as to whats going on.
Also, my ex-wife had an HD2 briefly that had Android on it that you could launch from a shortcut on the home screen. Any idea how to do that?
Ok, i got this resolved. Once i realized MAGLDR wipes WinMo off i found an EXCELLENT video on YT for dual booting WP7 and Android. Thanks to the guy who made it, very thorough and had the links to the required software in the comments.

(Q) Dualbooting Help

Hi, I am quite new to the HD2, so I have a question that might sound dumb to the more experienced people reading this.
Is it possible to Dualboot WP7 and Android ? But it is not that simple, I want my phone to boot into android unless I choose WP7 instead, I currently have Android ICS on my nand so what I need is something like the SD method used to dualboot WM6.5 and Android, but the other way around and with WP7 instead of WM6.5
Thanks.
Seems like even if I wanted to singleboot WP7, I cannot, because I cannot even get a rom, all the links are broken, If any on you have a WP7.8 with all the good stuff and tweeks I probably want, please link it.
Hi Traysa, you can only boot wp7 from nand using magldr. magldr lets you choose which OS autostarts in bootsettings. So you would need to partition your sdcard and use an SD android build, or better, a NativeSd ROM.
Shame the links are down, have you checked the last few pages of the threads for re-upped links? What wp7 takes your fancy? I might have it on HDD.
Off to sleep now, night night.
Oh, and you will need an activation code for wp7, don't think Microsoft give them out now as wp7 is unsupported.
Yes, I did look for reups for about an hour, found none, I would like a WP7 rom that has lots of preinstalled apps, because WP7 is no longer supported and getting them might not be very easy. dont really care if its Mango or WP7.8, I just want it to work. And about the WP7 activation key, how would I go about getting one ?
Thanks
edit: Forgot to add, I dont want to install wm6.5, i want to go straight from android to WP7, if at all possible.
The one you say you have ( WP7.8 pdaimatejam v8.8) should work, please mail it, or link it if you still have it.
Oh and pdaimatejam put this code out, it supposedly should work TP4CF-GK479-Q9Q4Q-WPYRP-7YR4D

No need for the rom anymore, the rom I found is working great, is it still possible to use the market ? When I try to make an account, it gives me a connection error, what do I do about that ? Also, I didn't use the key like you said, it never asked me to use a key.
Turns out I actually need a code, the two I found dont work. How do I get one ?
Okay, so WP7 is working perfectly, but I want Android too, how do I do that ?
I like either something cool like FroYo, I need an SD rom right ? Heres one,but the link is down ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870518 ) I already have a few things on my wp7 installation, so I do NOT want to delete it all, so I will probably need to back it up, but 1. Will it work if I partition the SD card 2. will it even work with zune down ? If you have this rom, please post it

Hi again Traysa, sorry been really busy in RL lately and haven't had a chance to get on xda. How are you getting on?
I posted a working link at the end of the thread you quoted for the Froyo build, but it would still be too big to install on sdcard without re-partitioning. I am pretty sure that you would lose your stuff if you repartitioned.
But see this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41706158 for a way to boot android without repartitioning, it is also superRAM as the original froyo build, and works well as long as you have only a few apps.
Thank you, but I cannot get the ROM, because it was uploaded on DevHost, which I guess does not work any longer, if you still have the rom, would you put it on mediafire or send it as an attachment ? It is kinda sad, that so many HD2 ROMs got lost this way. I am also really surprised that you were able to get android on such a tiny amount of space.
Best regards
Traysa

report back please and good luck
Hi, this build is soo close to booting, but when I go to Ad SD and launch it, Portadroid starts porting is and then it reboots, any ideas ?
I also have an unrelated question, I recently started experimenting with the CM13 build for the HD2, but I cannot figure out, how to get files onit, when I plug it in, it shows that its an MP3 Player and I cannot put any files on it, when I put the SD card in my PC directly,I quickly figure out that Windows is not Linux and does not understand EXT4. Because the browser/the play store does not work, I cannot put any apps on it, so that its usable, I wanna put a veeeery lightweight web browser on it and aptoide, it that works.
PS : Thank you for helping me, it always makes my day !
EDIT : I figured the file transfer out, I had to switch to PTP in settings instead of MTP.
