[Q] How i can create a theme with UOT kitchen? - Optimus One, P500, V Themes and Apps

Hi, i'm tried to create a theme for my LG Optimus one (P500) with the UOT Kitchen, but when trying to apply the theme with the theme manager (i've mik's port of CM7 v6.5.2 installed on my phone) says that the theme is bad compiled.
I select mods for battery, icons (status & notif. power), glowing (only overscroll), and window animation. in the "file upload" section i select amend scripting (because i don't have an HTC desire and with the edify scripting the zip file can't be flashed on the recovery), with the patch9 autofix & theme chooser preview enabled. In the file upload section i select "CM7 theme", and as base theme i use Androidian.apk (downloaded from xda-dev thread).
Next, i tried to flash the zip file from the recovery (amonra) and the flash do sucessfull, but when i go to apply the theme through the theme chooser, it says "theme bad compiled". i tried install the apk directly to the phone and the result is the same: "theme bad compiled" . Some tips or solution?
PS: I tried different combinations, like only battery icons modded, only status bar colors modded, and get the same result
Thanks in advance

disable Theme preview in File Upload section if you having problems applying theme.
Theme must be installed as normal apk. Without preview look very carefully in theme chooser list to find installed theme (it will be between other themes).

Now works, thanks

This message is for mendozinas. i do thank you for having a kitchen like this to customize pretty much anything for my phone (p500) Optimus one. I was informed that the kitchen will not support ics based so i flashed over Slimgen 1.6.0 (android 2.3.7) i just made some themes for the rom, havent tried them yet. I did upload the Framework.res and SystemUI.apk of the rom so hopefully it will work this time. I was wondering If you can add my rom (well the rom im using) on the kitchen list. SlimGen 1.6.0 here is the link to download the rom itself. im sure you already know.
http://code.google.com/p/slimgen-pro...downloads/list
Please reply back if you recieved my message. thanks agian. i do appreciate it. I sent you a PM figuring it will get to you quicker but i realized you must have many Pm's about certain questions. So maybe this will do the trick.
I tried to trouble shoot myself, still in early dev mode for me (learning the ropes) but i made a copy of the rom i have and plugged in what was from the UOT file that was giving to me from the kitchen. I made a flashable zip on my desktop and place it on the root of my sdcard. Booted into recovery...flashed it but still i get the same message. Am i using a correct rom for this or what?
Im attaching the UOT file i made so if u may need to look at it its there. any info you want from me just ask, im very greatful for the help, would really like to make different themes on my phone for start then move to rom modding .
I would really like a step by step if possible so i may get this theme up and flashedon my phone so i may make different ones for future needs.
Thanks again and hopefully i will be hearing from you.

my animations are not workin
i selected d fold animations but they r nt workin..? everythin else is fine jus d animations.. ?

credits:
UltraLinx
BrightSilence
(and furthermore those, who are credited by them...)
htc
Based on:
Minimal Matte Grey Theme
Carbon Espresso Mod
htc original framework
--------------------------
As I like UltraLinx minimalistic style very much but don't like his blue elements on it as many htc apps still use the green color, I decided to just parse parts of his theme into the original framework-res.
In addition, this zip archive contains all the apps, that UltraLinx has modded to look transparent and some parts from the espresso mod, especially the lock-screen.
The bootanimation is without sound.
The file should be signed.
Second link is a media-archive, that contains wallpapers, dock-graphics and custom icons for launcher pro. Those files are from UltraLinx GalleryPage. Copy the files to your sd card.
Install notes:
Flash the zip file using your recovery image / ROM Manager.
See attached images for a review of the theme.
Hope you like it.
Testes on MCR r8.

How do I install this to my HTC Desire? It's not rooted.
Thanks so much - it looks AMAZING!!!
No way...without root--->You must flash in recovery...
just flashed the theme...booting takes a while...and now works like charm.
very well done, thanx a bunch!
btw: I'm running Leedroid 1.9a
edit: -My Astrid widget looks like the normal one, could you please tell me how to make it like yours?
- and I don't know which controls widget you are using, I want to have the same. Is it switchpro or extended controls, I have them both but none of them are themed.
Sehe gerade, du bist ja Deutscher
Jawoll, ich bin deutscher!
Dennoch poste ich auf Englisch damit auch alles was von haben:
The Astrid-Widget is within the zip file and should look transparent. If it doesn't work for you, be sure to first remove any older astrid versions. Maybe also a restart will help.
The Settings-Widget is SwitchPro, which comes with the zip file. Use "no background" in the options, then it will look like on my screen.
Thanks a trillion times gforums!
Both tips worked for me.Uninstalled astrid, reflashed and now it works.
Again, thank you!
I would suggest using the black and white theme from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=760936 along with this theme it looks great with black and white animated status bar icons and transparent pulldown.

Copy the zip-File to your sd.
Boot into recovery mode.
Choose: Install zip from SD -> Choose zip -> install it.

You have to setup everything properly:
- The Wallpaper
- The Dock Background Grahpic in LauncherPro
- The Buttons in the Dock
- The Widgets as you like them
By default, it doesn't look on my screenshots, but all the files are included to set it up like this...

[THEME] Mixed_Theme for Cyanogen Port for Milestone

Hello everyone....
1st part:
For users with 0.02 kabaldan's releases........
To all users who want to install my THEME:
I strongly recomment to use the latest version of OpenRecovery made by colaianni.andrea and Luca.dimaio1 HERE.
From now and on i will release my theme as two (2) XXXXXXXXX.zip files....
So there will be two(2) .zip files with modified apps:
1) The first .zip file will be the same name as kabaldan names his releases (f.e. update-cm-6.1.0-RC0-Milestone-signed-2010-10-02.zip).
2) The second .zip file will be the latest google apps modified by me (f.e gapps-hdpi-20100930-signed.zip).
So lets begin:
Download .zip files:
1) Kabaldan's latest release (Modified by me - see screenshots at the and of this post, except the notification bar color and the color of the fonts in notification bar, as you can choose your own color combinations from Settings - CyanogenMod settings - User Inteface).
2) Latest Googles Apps (Modified by me - see screenshots at the and of this post, except the notification bar color and the color of the fonts in notification bar, as you can choose your own color combinations from Settings - CyanogenMod settings - User Inteface).
Put these two(2) .zip files you downloaded to /sdcard/OpenRecovery/updates.
Then reboot into OpenRecovery made by colaianni.andrea and Luca.dimaio1 and follow the next 2 steps:
1) Wipe dalvik-cache and Wipe cache.
2) Apply the two(2) .zip files you downloaded from Update menu.
That's it.......
Reboot and enjoy !!!!!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2nd part:
For users before 0.02 kabaldan's releases........
I made a theme for our Milestone (ONLY FOR CyanogenMod 0.01c for Milestone made by kabaldan HERE)
To install my theme you will need OpenRecovery v1.2 by Azhad that you can download from HERE...
First Do A Nandroid Backup Just In Case...
So you can download my theme from HERE...
Mirror in multiupload.com HERE...
In .zip file you will find 3 folders (apps, CMTheme and framework).
Take all the .apk from my apps folder and put them in /sdcard/OpenRecovery/azhad/theme/apps
Take framework-res.apk file from my framework folder and put it in /sdcard/OpenRecovery/azhad/theme/framework
Take the forder CMTheme and put it as it is in root of your sdcard
Then reboot your Milestone in Recovery mode and from Azhad's OpenRecovery go to Theme menu - Install Theme to install my Theme...
Then restart your phone. When your phone reboots, go settings - CyanogenMod settings - User interface - Tweaks extras - Select a theme and select kalagas.
Then restart again your phone.... and here you are with my theme....
I have to say that i' ve changed almost every icon in a lot of .apks (which can you see in screenshots) and almost every icon in framework-res.apk. So you understand that it took me a lot lot time to finish my work....
For full screenshots please go HERE...
To see a small sample here is some screenshots:
I don't have any kind of responsibility if something happens to your Phone...

Rapidshare?
Please use multiupload.com
And for the zip file, if you make a zip with all the files in the right folder, there is no need for the user to copy the files manually, but just unzip in the root of the sdcard.
[Start zip]
/CMTheme
/OpenRecovery/azhad/theme/framework
/OpenRecovery/azhad/theme/apps
[End Zip]

It's not so difficult for anyone, I think, to copy the files manually...
As for multiupload.com when I am at home I will add a mirror...
Edit: Done. Now you have an multiupload link to download my theme....
yea, you're right, the problem solved, and its good work!
I'm glad that it was so easy to solve your issue.... Tell me your impressions about my theme....
after i apply this theme, when i put my milestone on the dock, it will mount the sd card to computer automatically, any way not to mount everytime?
I think you must change the mount to "charge only", wait to prepare the sdcard and then remove your phone from dock...
Then every time you put your phone to dock, i think it will be in "charge only" mode....
Dumb question I know.. but I'll take it this can be put on the Droid 2 since its in the Droid 2 section right?
No it's "Motorola Droid and Milestone Themes" section....
Both Droid and Milestone....
My badddd. Im def in the wrong section!
nice, problem solved,
overall its a very good theme
@kalagas
Sorry mate, I should have told you before: when we included eclair in the recovery I changed the folders for the themes, now they are in:
/sdcard/OpenRecovy/theme/eclair/
/sdcard/OpenRecovy/theme/froyo/
You should use the froyo folder, inside you will find the usual app, framework, bootanimation and font folders

As you can see in first post I changed the way my theme is installing. I made 2 separate .zip files, one for Rom and one for Google apps. And both .zip files go in OpenRecovery/updates folder and apply them from your OpenRecovery Update menu....
I think it's easier this way, don't you think?

[THEME] UOT Kitchen, cook your own theme

http://uot.dakra.lt/
UOT kitchen seems now to be somewhat compatible with u8800, somewhile back when i tried, i just got an error.
Basicly you pull your framework-res.apk from /system/framework and upload it to the UOT Kitchen, theme it to your choosing and cook, wait for it to work and then it puts out .zip ready to flashed from recovery.
I made one with super circle battery with % and all sense style black status bar. Only (big?) bug i found that clock color is still black when it should be white... So some quick way of fixing that and then all would be good.
So give it a try! But better to have an up to date backup, for case of boot loops. Some mods may not be compatible...?
Clock color is in the services.jar, thats why it didnt change. I used services.jar from the GB theme and now i have a white clock color. Could post a sample screenshot later...
Thanks, OUT Kitchen works great for x5 now.
PS. bootanimations doesn't work, atleast on my x5 the stock bootanimation file is on another place than these three listed in kitchen, i also tried to manually replace bootanimation (bios-animation from kitchen), but it didnt show anything, just booted up with black background.
I used stockwells service.jar from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1112891
Works great with black status-bars.

bootanimations work fine.. make sure you put them in system/media AND the .zip file is NOT compressed. If it's compressed it displays blank screen.
battery icons don't work for me, used oxygen files
What three places for bootanimation?

You simple copy\paste services.jar from the GB theme? Cause I do so and phone couldn't load.

[Q] uot kitchen, what should i do in UPLOAD layer?

Hello, ive made a theme in uot.kitchen for my milestone A853. Im using cm7 rc14 mod on my phone, GOT rom. What should i do in the UPLOADING layer??? Plz help.
Sent from my Milestone using XDA App
Set all options like on this pic:
...then copy your favoured Theme Chooser apk from Milestone (you can find it in /system/app folder, eg. Androidian.apk) to your computer, click on "Select File" button and choose apk with theme for Theme Chooser. Go to the Summary section and submit your work to kitchen.
When it will be done, download update zip with your custom theme, unpack it and in /system/app folder you will find your apk for Theme Chooser (it should be named as eg. UOTAndroidian.apk). Copy it to your phone and install like normal app. Open Theme Chooser, choose your newly created theme and reboot phone. That's all.

Official Theme and Customization Thread for Runnymede AllInOne by Sebastiaan15

Hey everybody,
Because the original ROM thread for Sebastiaan15's amazing Runnymede gets flooded and spammed with theme-related questions, themes and problems to skins and customization, it has been suggested to start a new thread to discuss all these things in one place.
So let's do this here and feel free to share and participate
How to change themes, ready to flash themed ROM-zips and various themes can be found in 3rd Post on this site Enjoy!
I've also tested several kernels with AIO 2.2 and published the results here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19514860#post19514860

Don´t flash the zips from the desire hd threat
Flashable Theme.zip´s now availabel. Look on bottom of the post !!!
--------------------------------------------------------
Include theme into Rom.zip:
1. Download the ROM zip file.
2. Download the desired theme
3. Move the files from the zip theme to the ROM zip:
a. /system/app to /sd-ext/app_s
b. /system/framework to /sd-ext/framework_s.
4. Copy the NEW ROM in your SD and flash it like a new ROM.
On STOCK Hboot is the framework on system and app_s on sd-ext
With 7zip you can easily open the zip files without extracting and copy the new files into the rom.zip.

Include theme after Rom flashing:
You can adb them in, or put them in the rom before you flash.
Or you can use QtADB, if you are not so familiar with adb or have your rom allready configured,
there you have an explorer and you can easily change the files after flashing.
1. Boot to recovery (volume down & power) and mount your sd-ext/system folder, depends on Stock/Cm7r2 HBoot.
2. Use QtaDB to copy the files to your device. Doing this form recovery is saver then from running device.
you get QtADB here http://qtadb.wordpress.com/download/
You may have to give the new files the rigth permissions, same as the old files have, if you copy them into the booted device.
Use Root Explorer and long press on the new files.
Then you can change the permissions otherwise your rom crashs.

Flash a Theme.zip:
1. Download the Theme.zip from THIS page
2. Push somewhere on your sd-card.

Runnymede AIO v.2.2 FULL ROM-Zip for Cm7r2 Users with HoneyHD Theme
It includes the full ROM, HoneyHD Theme and a custom background for the AppList, quicksettings and status bar. Hope you like it...If not, you can easily change the zip and include other backgrounds. How-to's can be found in the HoneyHD main thread.
Please report back if anything is not working properly. It does for me though ^^

Great thats what i´m talking about, so first of all:
Thanks to he_stheone64 for the great themes and sebastian15 for the great rom.
WHATS IT CM7R2 HBOOT USERS
--------------------------------------
Dont flash the zips from the desire hd treat
download the theme
unpack it with winrar
you see files and folder in it
example:
theme zip has a file in system/framework folder
your rom has the sd-ext/framework_s folder
take the files from the theme (system/framework/)
and put does files in sd-ext/framework_s/
for apps the same and so on.......enz...
you can adb them in
or put them in the rom before you flash
or you can use QtADB, if you are not so familiar with adb or have your rom allready configured,
there you have an explorer and you can easily change the files after flashing.

one question... i extracted files from framework...than should i put these files into the ROM.zip's framework_s folder and replace existing files.... or make a sd-ext folder in theme.zip and in that make framework_s folder than put files in to ....
I've tried both.. didn't worked..
by 1st method I got stuck on boot screen
by second method just got wallpaper and icon folder on SD card...otherwise no change at all...
So please write the step by step procedure by mentioning the directories and the zip files...
Thanks all

I have tried it several ways as well, and I'm unclear which files to copy (e.g. all of the files in the the theme zip or just the framework ones)...
Some clearer instructions for a middle-aged noob would be appreciated! I LOVE the ICS theme, and would love it on my phone

I am using the OPB-Rayford85 Runny-Blue Ed.V.3.37RV/Skins for Runny 3.3 theme http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1265225 and it´s beautiful. (Only the 3G indicator icons are a bit...strange...but it´s ok.)

If you are going to do a fresh install just download a theme.zip, unzip it and copy the files from the system\framework\ folder into the sd-ext\framework_s\ folder of your rom.zip.
Do the same with the stuff from the system\apps\ folder to the sd-ext\apps_s\ folder.
Then just flash it as usual.
If you already have a ROM installed, just push the according files into these folders. I guess using Root Explorer might work, too.
But havn´t tried either.
Flashable Runny AIO Download link is addet to 3rd post.
Just a question if you are on stock hboot can u simply flash the theme .zip files ? Or do i have to do same steps as cmr72 users ?

On Stock Hboot the frameworks folder is still in system, but the apps are in sd-ext/app_s. So you can´t flash the .zip files, you´ll have to move the apps to sd-ext/app_s.
If you take a closer look into the theme.zip and the rom.zip you´ll now what to do.

One more thing which is scratching my head...
How is this possible to just put only TWO file instead of META INF, SYSTEM, DATA etc.. into ROM's framework and get complete THEME..
If a theme.zip is completely used to flash then how is this possible with just two files...
NULLINGER??? got some idea?????

It should look like this in the framework_s folder
this is my themed v5.0 framework folder
And if you wish to have the apps themed as well , you have to put the apps from them folder system/app -----> sd-ext/app_s
This should work
Edit: In OtADB you have 2 explorers, one shows your system and the other your phone.
You can drag & drop files from system to any folder on your phone.
