When I first got my epic my youtube account was unlinked to a google account. It did it with no problem.
Since then youtube has required that I link that account with a google account so I just based my google account on the e-mail address that was attached to my original youtube account (I didn't use my gmail account). Now all my app does is freeze after I log in and then force closes.
Could someone explain why this happened and what options are there to fix it.
BTW I'm still running 2.1 stock

I have to do some testing with Samsung S4 (9506) for my work.
here is the problem :
Both the S4 and my google account have never been used.
1st start :
I power on the S4 and go through the setup wizard.
First strange thing for me: it never ask for a gmail address ( my personal phone is a nexus, so i find strange to not ask for a gmail address during setup wizard)
Second : to set-up a gmail address I have to launch Gmail or Play Store App : once done i can access the play store...but there is a problem:
The play Store is unable to see updates for all preinstalled applications, beiing Google or Samsung ones.
If I go to "My Apps" menu there is nothing.
If i want to update preinstalled applications, I have to find them manually : for example if I search "Maps", then the play store show me Google Maps App and is now telling me an update is available.
So... Why on earth is it not done automaticaly ? I cannot update all apps manualy on 60 Galaxy S4... it would just be so much pain.
Is there a solution ?

In my workplace we use gmail for work. There's a directory of all employees' emails and phones. With Nexus 4 all these contacts are available through People app.
With the G2 on the other hand, I see none of these contacts. Not in Contacts app, nor in the dialer search. Only in gmail, when adding contacts in To field, but that doesn't help, because I want the phone numbers.
Is there any way around it?
PS. I tried severals ROMS. The issue persist in all LG stock roms, JB and KK, and in all custom ones that are based on stock. In AOSP I do see the contacts, as with Nexus (dahh)

hi all i play several games on my verizon note 3 and I have been having trouble getting my games to connect to either facebook or my google acount. Any suggestions on how to get it to connect? anythine suggestion would be great.
I have a google apps domain (2300s.com) but get the following error when trying to configure my account :
Sorry, Google doesn't recognize that email
is there some kind of DNS record that should be updated?

I have similar problem. When I try to add google apps account it forwards me to web page of the service. As a consequence I cannot add this account although it was working without problems on older androids

i have the same problem with my n5 and n10. I opened a ticket at goolge apps team, they confirmed the bug.
I found a temporary solution:
Install 4.4.4, add setup you accounts then do a sideload update to lollipop. The google apps accounts work fine.
