[BootAnimation] New Boot Animations - Optimus One, P500, V Themes and Apps

Hey guys! Here are a few boot animations I ported.
None of these are created by me. All credits to the creators.
Although, I resized most of them to get them to the right resolution. Smaller resolution = Quicker Load
A lot of them are from the droid forum. So expect some droid logos.
Instructions:
1. rename the downloaded zip file to bootanimation.zip
2. place bootanimation.zip in your sd card.
3. use root explorer and copy this bootanimation.zip to /data/local
OR
1. rename the downloaded file to bootanimation.zip
2. adb push /xxx/xxx/bootanimation.zip /data/local
xxx/xxx -----> the location where you've downloaded the bootanimation.zip on your pc.

What's up with the Blue Android and Green Android? The bootanimation is just a still image?

All of em are animated. Just that I didn't find an already uploaded gif to link it here. And I'm lazy to do so myself.

Thanks man always like getting some new boot animations
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA Premium App running CM7 over clocked at 787

Wondering, is there some boot animation randomizer?
Would be a couple lines of a shell script to copy a random one from, say, /sdcard/bootanimations to /data/local and hooked somewhere after the boot finishes but if someone else already did that perhaps, I am lazy too...

question, on spica phones, un compatible boot animation completely bricks phone, is that the same with our optimus one?
can i use this on devoid, by franco

Well, incompatible animation in /data/local resulted in the default one being used, so... that is most what I managed to "break" this.
Works even on stock ROM.

In devoid franco, the fcuk complexity is the default bootanimation. It won't be present in the /data/local. If you want to apply a new boot animation, place the bootanimation.zip in /data/local and reboot. If you want to revert back to the default one, just remove that.

In case you just want to test it first, no need to reboot. Just connect your phone via USB cable, enable USB debugging and run:
Code:
adb shell bootanimation
When you have finished watching, press CTRL+C.

BIOS is pretty nice
it remembers me my first comp like 10-12 years ago, lawl

i love the bios animation but its much better if the text indicating phone model is changed to optimus one not htc something ^_^
anyway thanks

Call me fool but i can't get it working, i try to move .zip to /data/local but i have no right, or i can't access sdcard via root explorer cuz it is locked.
I need some extra information here please.

good job, the animation looks minimal and nice!
can you please make a version without "htc sence" character in place of for example "google" or "android"?
would be great.

The HTC with Sense animation works fine.
However, the HTC with Android animation doesn't appear to work on my desire
Anyone else?
[UPDATE]the first animation with htc sense works just fine [UPDATE]
Hi,
I'm sorry I tried everything and can't change my boot animation!
I put bootanimation.zip in /system/media nothing happens!
I put bootanimation.zip in /data/local and remove the /system/media one, again nothing happens!
I put original cyanogenmod 7 bootanimation.zip back in /system/media and it works fine! (with the bootanimation.zip in /data/local removed.)
can you change your boot animation somehow?
I have S-OFF Desire and running CM7 nightly!
I tried root explorer and android commander (from pc).
I tried this tool "Android Flasher_1.6.1" and it crashes when changing boot animation!

If you have root then yes. I've changed mine with some generic android one :-D
Make sure the screen res is the same otherwise it will sow up smaller on the play or might not work at all afaik ;-)

No haven't really looked into it. Maybe it's the same kind of file edit as on the DHD when you enable bootdown anim sound? Will have a look in that section over the weekend
@FK1983 yes it will, you need root though if you use root explorer to replace it, that's the way I do it.
Just search xda forum and they will show up or use uot kitchen:
http://uot.dakra.lt/kitchen/
Once on this page hit bootanim an tick 'use this mod'.
Select place f... Doesn't matter wich cause you're not gonna flash it.
Then tick wich ever bootanim you like and hit preview. When you find one you like hit summary and then submit work to.. and then just wait for your download.
When downloaded you extract the bootanimation.zip.
Either way you do it the anim .zip of your choise needs to be pasted in /system/media.
Backup the old one first if you care to save it just in case? Simply rename it to bootanimation_old.zip.
That should be it.
Ohh it doesn't replace the first 'sony ericsson' only the animation. The splashscreen needs to be flashed and I don't know if it's possible to do on this device?

Took a look at the DHD section and found this thread:

But can't find any .xml file any place to edit to get sound when booting? Only found this:

In the first pic there's a file 'persist.sys.boot...' when open says 53. The second pic there's a file, bootanimation, when open it just comes up with alot of signs and some txt. Can't read it probely on my play.
Maybe someone with more skills could look into this?
Regards Dousan...
did you look in /system/customize/CID/
There's no such directory on our play? Well not on mine...
Regards Dousan...
hmm maybe we should ask someone in the arc section if they have figured it out
Sounds like a good idea. I will check up on a cm7 Rom and see how it's done on that as they have a more stock android structure as us, I think.
Regards Dousan...
sounds like a plan stan lol
Cm7 is using a script, don't think it will work on xplay.

It might be in some other .xml file. Have looked in many different .xml files today. Will give it a rest for today

Fantastic! done it and looks wicked now! I hated that SE animation!
Also, it seems to have fixed the slow boot time of the Play, I checked to make sure, with the standard SE boot animation it took 2-5 minutes to boot every time, with my new boot animation it takes 20-30 seconds, how on earth is this possible?!?
Me = HAPPY!

I found this while looking for the .xml to enable sound on bootanim, in /data/data. Is this some kind of preb for a down anim?

[BOOTANIMATION] ICS Boot Animation

REQUIREMENTS
Just to note, I am using shed's GSB v4.2, but it may work with other custom ROMs too.
INSTALLATION (Thanks to shed for the flashable ZIP)
1. Download the attached ZIP and copy to the root of your SD card.
2. Reboot into Recovery.
3. Choose "Flash zip from sdcard."
4. Choose the "ICS_bootanimation_Eris-signed.zip," and let it do its thing.
5. Once it's complete, reboot your phone and you're done.

MD5 Sum: adb12e5a164460398722a96f306b7aa6
---
Enjoy!
Edit: workshed optimized the boot animation and cut the size in half. I have replaced the original flashable one with his. Thanks again shed!
I can also confirm that this works with MongooseHelix's ICS Alpha 4 / Preview 1 rom.
For those who like using ADB:
INSTALLATION
1. Copy the attached eris_ics_boot.zip into your tools (or platform-tools) folder under android-sdk-windows (or wherever you have the sdk folder saved).
2. In Windows, run a command prompt, and navigate to the above tools (or platform tools) folder, then run the following command:
Code:
adb push eris_ics_boot.zip /data/local/bootanimation.zip
3. In Linux/Mac, run:
Code:
./adb push eris_ics_boot.zip /data/local/bootanimation.zip
Thanks ryurabbit for the code snippets.
4. Reboot your phone, and you're done.

feel free to add it to your op.

thanx snow, and thanx to shed for zip, worked great,
looks great on GSB v4.2
Figured I would share this since it helps...
Mrs. Shed wanted that nexus bootanimation on her Eris, but she has very little internal storage left. Since our Eris' internal storage space is so precious, and that ICS nexus bootani is 5.2mb in size, I decided to optimize it and cut the filesize down by half.
It looks just as good. Check it out, use it, distribute it, love me?
Attached!
Thanks shed,
Good point. My Eris is a bit empty at the moment but for those trying to save space this definitely helps!

Just as a test, I flashed this bootanim Android BIOS Boot Animation, and it worked fine.
Then rebooted into Recovery, flashed the optimized ZIP from shed, and it worked just the same.
Sorry anubis2k3 that you're having problems with it. I hope you get it resolved!
Bah, just my luck. Now I have to install adb on my computer. Was hopeing to avoid that as I always like the easy way out Its really no problem bro thanx for your input, if I get around to it ill repost to let you know how it worked.

ok, call me crazy but... you do realize that Condemned's rom already uses this Nexus bootanimation, right? Well if that's the case, this is the same bootanimation, only the filesize is smaller because I optimized the images inside.
so in theory, if you're using Condemned's rom you won't "see" a difference after flashing this... because they're the same bootanimation lol.
hope we cleared that up

I get half the boot animation working fine, and the other half is just a white screen - this loops and gives me ani-white-ani-white-ani-white... until the phone boots up
I've had this problem with every version of the ICS boot ani I've tried to install - any idea what's causing this?
Thanks in advance
(phone/rom as in sig)
Hey enigma,
Sorry you're having trouble. My Eris is not with me currently.
I looked at the ICS_bootani_Eris_Optimized-signed.zip from the OP again, and everything seems to be in order.
I opened up the zip there and looked at all of the PNG files...they're all fine. I wonder what could be causing your frames to "skip?"
Anyone heard of something like this?
Hey man
Thanks for taking a look, I've had it with various boot animations...

[MOD][Bootanimation]Energy BIOS Boot Animation for U8800

I completely edited the Energy BIOS boot animation to U8800, besides the android animation at the end.
On ICS 2.02
1- Download "Energy BIOS boot animation for U8800.zip" and copy it to your SDcard
2- Press and hold POWER button.
3- Hit "Reboot"
4- Hit "Recovery" and "OK"
5- After CWM runs, hit "Install zip from SDcard"
6- Choose "Energy BIOS boot animation for U8800.zip"
7- Hit Yes - Install "Energy BIOS boot animation for U8800.zip"
8- Hit "Back" on your soft buttons
9- Hit "Reboot System"
10- Benefit!
Other ROMS
I have not tried it on any other ROMS but ICS 2.02. I am going to add the "bootanimation.zip" as an attachment. Following method should work on other custom and official roms.
1- Download "bootanimation.zip"
2- Copy it to your SDcard.
3- Copy the file and replace it with the one on system/media with rootexplorer.
4- Reboot your device.
You may also push the "bootimage.zip" to system/media with SDK.
IN CASE YOU MAY WANT TO RECOVER YOUR OLD BOOTIMAGE, RENAME THE ONE ON SYSTEM/MEDIA TO ANYTHING.

I can say that it is completely different from the one you used besides the android animation at the end. U8800 specs, logo, and new font added. It means that nothing left from the boot animation but the android animation.
I am glad you liked and using it.
I like this animation, but when I flashed it through CWM, it didn't change it. So i looked where the bootanimation.zip was stored, it was in /system/media/, so i copied it to /data/local where it should be and it works now. I think it even boots faster compared to previous animation. Thanks!
Nice work, I really like the design, much better than the original Aurora animation, imho.
Thanks for your work

Best regards and thanks for you job, I'm using it!

The font is "DIGIFACEWIDE". Since I dont have time these days I cant do any updates yet. By the way it works on all ICS versions.

Updated : (tested First one for /data/local route, second one flashable version but didn't test it)
bootanimation_energy.zip

[MOD][BOOTANIM] Google FULL ROTATION with Powered by Android Logo

this is the same bootanimation as my other one ([MOD][BOOTANIMATION] Fixed stock Google bootanimation (fixes Google's derp)) except now it has the "Powered by Android" logo underneath.
Here's google's version with incomplete rotation:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
and here's my fixed version:
once again, if you can't see the difference, you don't have OCD about little details like i do
see attachments for download. i have provided both flashable and non-flashable versions.
enjoy!
also, to return back to stock, use this flashable zip, kindly provided by @BrianAllred
credits go out to @sgosiaco for bringing the original HTC One M8 / Galaxy S5 version down to our phone's resolution and posting it over on reddit here

Downloading now! Will report back soon!
Edit: Absolutely fine. Thank you! And one more thing, is it only me who feels that the speed of the circles moving is quite fast than the original bootanimation?

You probably have an old leftover boot animation. Delete the bootanimation.zip from /data/local/. If there's ever a bootanimation.zip in that directory, android will attempt to use that one instead of the one in /system/media/.

It's for a Galaxy Note 2 which has a 720x1280 resolution. For some reason, changing the resolutions in desc.txt inside bootanimation.zip doesn't work and jsut reverts my boot animation to the stock Android one.

hmm, that's strange. editing the desc.txt should work flawlessly, especially since note 2 is proportionally similar to nexus 5 (1080/1920 = 720/1280).
i edited the desc.txt myself for you and attached the files to this post. THIS IS JUST FOR THE NOTE 2 or anything with 720x1280 resolution.
also, be sure that you don't have any old bootanimation.zip files residing in the /data/local/ directory (otherwise android will try to use that one first), and if you're pushing it to /system/media/ yourself instead of using my flashable zip, be sure the permissions are set as rw-r--r--.

It works!
Is the bootanimation supposed to change after I flash a ROM? I remember on one of my older devices when I manually changed the bootanimation in /system/media it stuck after flashing ROMs. Not a big deal tho

IIRC, you have to place the bootanimation.zip in /data/local/. Since the /system is formatted everytime you flash a new ROM, so is the boot animation. The /data/ partition isn't touched when flashing or wiping data.
