I've just upgraded to the Gold ROM and feel it's time to donate to the coffee fund. But how much is appropriate? Please help me by indicating how much you donated in this poll.
It's not just case of 'ill donate how much everyone else has' you donate how much you think they deserve.

Just looking for a general idea, nothing scientific, people can round up or down as their conscience allows.
It's in dollars as that is what paypal asks for when you hit the donate button.

As far as I can see, this thread is only gonna go downhill.
Donations are not about how much you donate, they are a gesture of goodwill and appreciation. There is no need for anyone to know how much someone else has donated, the only people who need to know this is Team Overcome and they already know.
Against my better judgement Im not going to close this yet but be warned, if it starts to slide I will.
Donation generally means what you can give. There is no set limit. If you think its awesome and can only put in $5 then thats OK, if you can afford more then give more.

Donating is not tiping. The devs are saying "if you want to give us money for what we are doing, then give what you can".
If you can only afford to give 5.00, then give that, but if next month your electric bill is cheaper and you can donate more, donate what you can afford.

I have seen that...but here is the issue that I think could arise...
If I open an account, and have it be for donations, I have no problem there at all.
But that would be me asking everyone to trust me not to spend their hard earned money, you know what I mean?
I have no problem doing it, I am just saying people would have to trust me to hold the money in "Trust"

Have everyone hold on to the money, and whoever roots it will create the account once its finished. Then everyone sends in the money to the guys account. Problem solved.
Still wont solve the fact that the dev may feel users wont pay up. I think best bet is to get XDA to hold onto the money. Sort of make it a hacking contest. Also maybe we could get it on the XDA Main page for everyone to see, maybe itll intrigue people who dont check our forum.

I'm pretty sure every other bounty on this forum relied on a user-trust basis...
okay so charnsingh,tytung and other devs have been putting in a lot of effort for the HTC HD 2 which most devs have forgotten about!
Let me come straight to the point, lets donate to charnsingh,tytung and other devs as they are using up their free time for us. i dont mind paying around $10/20 to start of with.
BUT!! im very bad at keeping count on how much someone has paid therefore i would request someone else to create another thread and keep track on the donations for the devs. (please do not create the donation thread if your not an mod or a admin)
I have said "other" devs who also deserve the donation, but il let you decide who should get the donation.

First off, the intention of this thread is to create donations to get the masterful "Mr.Sense", TommyTomato a spanking new EVO LTE. In the least to help fund his purchase and show our appreciation for the phenomenon that is Tommytomato, and all of his countless good deeds and works for this community.

I just want to add a disclaimer that I am not expecting donations for any promised work done on any device. If this was my full time job then naturally I can make those promises, but please do not use your moneys on me in the hopes that I do anything in return.
Any donations should come no strings attached. But all of you are dearly cherished.
Doesn't mean that I won't contribute. hehe. I had the same disclaimer for the gang over on the 3d forums. It just makes me feel weird to be receiving nice gifts. lol.

So believe me friend, I have no expectations for my donation, but I also know, if you do get an EVO LTE, you won't be able to resist the urge to share some goodness.

I don't generally do any online transactions because I don't bank and therefore don't have a debit card. BUT, today, I put 300 and change on a prepaid visa to order Evo LTE and gnex. There should be a small chunk left, and it'll go to tommy. I won't know how much for a couple hours, but I'll be back. If EVER a dev deserved donations, it's tommy by a mile! Of course there's no strings attached. Tommy has ALREADY provided this community with an INSANE amount of time and knowledge and taught a lot of people. Tommy deserves every good that comes his way. Lol sounds like me, I get changed like a 5y/o if I don't match well enough or if I'm not dressed right for where we're going. She'll drag me back into the closet and pick out my "new" outfit and if I wanna just wear jeans and a tshirt it has to be a $90+ pair of designer jeans and a 50$ designer shirt with a blazer over it. Congrats on your anniversary! Man the devs so far that I know of are xHAUSx, Preludedrew, and there's a rumor kushdeck as well. There's other greats I'm sure. Toast is on the oneX with another carrier, hopefully progress there will translate.
As far as a donations my thought was if enough people donate even a little that's gonna further the cause regardless. Tommy's work seems to transcend devices in the long run. With all the tuts, guides and tools he's responsible for. He def deserves it.

As many of you already knows, GadgetCheck had a bit of an accident earlier where his Samsung Galaxy Note got destroyed that ended up by stopping the development of the current CheckROM NoteHD ROM.
You can read more about it here.
Now we all knows that CheckROM NoteHD, or just the CheckROM developers are one of the best ROM developers of the original Samsung ROMs for the Samsung Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note.
So it would be a bad idea to miss out a good CheckROM NoteHD ROM for the Android 4.0.3 that just came out today. More info about that you can see here.
So the point of this topic is to see if you peoples here that have a Galaxy Note are willing to donate some money to let the CheckROM developers get the chance to buy a new or used Galaxy Note so they can continue their development of the ROM.
If you want to donate some money for a better cause for our Galaxy Note's, then just write down on how much you are willing to donate in dollar.
Remember that this is a community initiative.
I will update the topic on how much money that are donated 2 times every day. And i will write down the names on those who have donated with how much money they have donated in my first post.
I will personally donate 20 dollar.
A donate link will come when we have reached a certain amount of money in total from donated money.

If you want to donate to get a very good ROM back to our Notes, then donate.
You have the freedom to choose now with this topic.
Before i created this topic, there was no methods of letting us donate of some sorts.

ok....so I will open a thread to donate fuel for my Ferrari....fuel is getting really expensive here in Germany and I am about to sell my Lear Jet for that reason...

OMG, i'm note sure if you still get the whole point of the thread.
I'm a nice and friendly person that loves the Galaxy Note to bits. And because of that i want a damn good ROM on my Galaxy Note to.
And i'm sorry to tell you this, but i'm not alone on doing all this. And that's why i created this topic because both me and GadgetCheck knows that there are alot of peoples out here that want to donate some money to GadgetCheck so he can get a new or used Galaxy Note so he can continue to create the best custom Samsung ROM that are out to both the Galaxy S II and the Galaxy Note.
If i have had the money to buy GadgetCheck a new or used phone alone, then i would do it.
But because we usually don't have all of those moneys to do that, then we create those 'DONATE' topics to let others help with the problem.

I know your position on the subject and i partly agree with it even.
However i do feel that the community could give back to the developers if they brick etc. After all you guys are taking all this time, and endangering your devices for the community. Hope there will also me a Rocket ICS

Hi everyone,
I've opened this thread in the hopes that we can keep skin1980 deving for the G3.
The backstory
skin1980 has been given a note 4 for Xmas.. the lucky bugger.
But....... he still has to sell his G3 for funds.
Now consider where we would be if skin1980 hadn't owned a G3.
To my mind we'd be in a pretty grim place right now.
So my idea is to have a bounty thread to buy his G3 and then gift it to him. That way we get to keep a brilliant Dev.
We need to raise about 300 euro, which is what he's hoping to get by selling the phone.
All I'm looking for right now are pledges.
If we get close to the figure required, we can then all just send the money to skin1980 through PayPal.
He can keep us updated as the money comes in.
So far I have pledged 10 euro
New Member bxkf has pm'd me with a 10 euro pledge too.
Kickoff has graciously offered 20 euros and
tobitege has offered an amazing 30 euros
gsw5700 has also pledged 20 euros.
That makes 90 euros already.
Hopefully you guys will help out and we'll get to keep a great Dev working on the G3.

Is he really leaving the G3 scene? Or is this just an assumption? A quote form him would be nice for legitimate reasons.

I agree completely, and hopefully tomorrow I will be running his new rom.
But that doesn't stop me appreciating all the work skin1980 did to bring us working Roms between clouyfas 1.2 and 2.
That's without all the fixes he's done too, oversharpening for example.
Not only did he nuke it for us, he then made it variable after many realised that a little bit of oversharpening is quite nice really.
You look after the good guys you have cos when they leave there's absolutely no guarantee someone will step into their shoes after.
I learned this on the gpad 8.3 forum.
There's a few of us who would donate an organ to keep the brilliant infected working on it for us. ?
Come on guys, he gave us the patched lollipop kernel and many other things. He deserved this and we deserve him.
I'm thinking that we should at least ask him if we do this will he even want to continue development for the G3 community.

I can't even use his rom (sad Verizon owner).. I donated for his oversharpening (worth millions lol) but I'll gladly donate another 50 to keep him around.

I was Just saying Thank You Very much and I'll happily donate again to keep You...Very much wish i could use your rom though (I'm vs985) but love the oversharpening fix.. So completely worth it.
