[Request] Boot animation Port - Optimus One, P500, V Themes and Apps

Hey!
Could someone port this particular bootanimation for the Optiomus one?
Its Steel's 3rd boot animation (the blue droid eye)
Original post -- here
At least, if someone could tell me how to port it, I'll give it a try.
I already opened the zip and resized the images to 480x320 but it refused to show up.

Post the content of the desc.txt file.

400 800 16
p 1 0 part0
p 0 0 part1
I forgot to mention, i also edited this file to 320*480 with 30 (as the older boot animation had 30) it failed.
When i load the file unaltered, it works. however its damn slow and super large.
I also tried to place the resized gifs in another bootimage.zip file (an already working one) but that also failed.

looks very nice ! if you can port to optimus, please share it,

Well, that is obviously wrong. Also, about slow - the last figure is FPS. If the images are large (I mean kBs, not the resolution) and FPS high then it obviously will be slow.
For testing, you can just push it to /data/local/bootanimation.zip and run this:
Code:
adb shell bootanimation
(Abort by CTRL+C).

Finally worked. But only the images in part 0 plays. How do I Get the part 1 to play as well?

You need to attach what you produced.

I know that! I'm still experimenting with it. I'm also trying out other nice boot animations too. Once I'm done with it, i'll be more than happy to post it here

That will be wonderful of course - but meanwhile you need to attach the (non-working) one for debugging if you need help.

Remove Ugly Cingular Logo from Phone Dialer

I've been searching the forums for this, and can only find info on T-Mobile, and changing the skin to the WM5...
when making a call or using the dialer, or in a call, that ugly off-color CINGULAR logo is in the upper left. Any way to remove this, or at least change it?
thanks
create a replacement dialer logo .gif that is
size: 105px x 23px
name: "Carrierlogo"
place in location: /windows folder and replace existing .gif file named "Carrierlogo"
after replacing: soft reset
you may want to save a copy of the oem "Carrierlogo" file... or not
i created a blank/transparent .gif because i don't need it to say anything but any image will appear so have fun
Dude..I can't copy it..because the image is in use...
I have attached the file I use. (I take NO credit for making the file, as I found it elsewhere).
Use the instructions above and copy it over the existing one in the \windows folder ... then soft reset.
larsjeparsje - make sure you don't have the phone dial pad window open.

Does this go for the "T-Mobile" logo as well?
thanx
OR
Just delete the file and it will display the text of the carrier you are on.
The K-Jam doesn't have that file...

interesting... i totally removed "Carrierlogo.gif" from \windows and:
1) no adverse affect. phone works fine with no image at all.
2) i do not see the carrier displayed as you state.
The problem is, I can't delete the Carrierlogo.gif...
i read in another post that it may related to rom version... search is your friend... sorry

HTC "You" animated splash screen (w/ audio)

I created a clean looking HTC animated splash based on the HTC "YOU" commercials. It's only about 4 seconds long to avoid a long startup sequence. Just unzip and use a file namager like Total Commander to copy the files into your /windows/ folder.
If someone would volunteer to make this a cab, I'd appreciate it.
Update: Sept 1st, 2010 - Installable CAB version for those who don't want to have to copy the files to their windows folder. (thanks Brent372). Look a few posts down for the link.

Fun! I was going to swap out the stupid Sprint startup for a static screen but I like this better.

Cab installed to device, no go.
Stock ROM/ radio...themes all custom cozy.
In which folder do u put the zip file in windows???
On Acer Neotouch S200 with a stock ROM is NOT working....
I've installed a cab on a main mamory, but nothing!
alright i found this app which changes icons but it also contains a "bonus feature"
that allows you to change either the animated boot screen, and or microsoft boot screen just copy your "gifs",and "pngs" to your sd card find them with the app
Save, close, then use the "reset device" option and enjoy.
(the preview option is broken)
Using this now on my Sprint Touch Pro 2. If you have Sprint, you have to copy over the "SPCS_480x800.gif" file in the Windows folder.
Thanks for the great work!
P.S. Where's the thanks button on your post? Would like to have used it...

Custom Vibrant Shutdown Animation

Went ahead and made my own animation with sound and all. For more info on how to change and edit all this go to: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=732311

Install instructions (must be rooted):
Place contents of shutdown.zip in directory: /system/media/video/shutdown
Place contents of shutdown_128.zip in directory: /system/media/audio/ui
easiest way to do it is through root explorer. Try this animation out and let me know what you think, I'm also working on a few more
wrong section.. this belongs in the Theme & Apps forum but this looks pretty good.

thanks, I did a serach for shutdown animation and all the posts were on general so I put it here
Hey I like it. Better than that pink flying around the screen crap.
Didn't work for me. Contents where they belong but the phone just shuts down normally, no new sound or animation
Didn't work for me either...
It looks like it should, but like the previous post, it just shuts down with no animation and no sound.
how are you guys getting the files in the directory?
More detailed explanation please
Hello,
I would like to put this shutdown on my vibrant. I am running Bionix 1.3.1.
I have changed boot animations many times but never shutdown animations.
Can someone give more detailed instructions please? Do I replace these entire folders with the new folders? These are zip files so should I flash through recovery?
Confused at the moment.
Or, does anyone have any great shutdown animations for Bionixx 1.3.1?
Thanks for your help.
You will also need a kerel that supports bootanimations and shutdown ones too. I found that out just recently myself as I was throwing some metroid icons and animations onto my phone.
Kernel?
I know that I can change my bootanimation, never tried to change the shutdown one.
Follow the op's instructions ...if you copy the folder then you will need to make it lower case.....also if running a custom kernel you wont get sound
Got it working I much prefer it over original bionix 1.3.1 shutdown

[BOOT ANIMATION] Retro Style A500 customized

Boot animation ICONIA A500
install with:
Code:
adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local
the default is well default for all android devices. people will need to make some bootanimations to flash.
Just do this: adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local/bootanimation.zip and setup a nice bootanim
i figured it out... just after i posted...got shnny bootanim now
good bootanimation here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991086
just have to remove the motorola logo...
I'm after a nice boot animation as well, currently I'm using the radio active Xoom boot animation. Unfortunately it displays Xoom. Although I'll have a look at photochopping it out and adding Iconia or something in there.
remade the retro bootanimation for our lovely a500
hope you guys like it
UPDATED first post
not bad man good job.
is there a tut i can read that explains the process of making a new boot screen/animation? does it require root? That link to the xoom version has a post that says it doesnt.
doesnt require root
The Animation is wrong... The Acer had 1024M DDR3 Ram
good to know. any chance of getting a fad writeup?
did anyone have the honeycpmb one??
that is many honeycomb on the screen
So whats the file structure for this? /data ? there's no /local folder in that and it wont let me make one... Sorry, noob.
EDIT***
Okay looks like I need adb (reading that xoom thread and others with the same question as mine) - ill figure it out.
EDIT 2***
Got it working Very cool Thor
What does adb mean?
Ha haah...awesome
Is it possible to save the stock boot ?
I don't get it - you people actually turn your device off? ;-)
I never see the boot animation because well... I never power my tablet off. Why wait so long for it to boot when I'm going to use it multiple times during a day anyway?
good work
what programs you have created the
would like to create one yourself
Crazy - A500 use DDR3 RAM
Can anyone modify this one to fit the Acer A500 specs?

Request for Atrix boot animation.

Would someone be pal and port this boot animation for the atrix? I have never been good at graphics and animation stuff, so I'm not even going to attempt it.
Also, I didn't create this all credit to Dysgenic

That would be really cool of you. Would be willing to throw a few bucks your way if you could get it to work..
Now maybe someone can answer this questions..
I took the original file from the thread referenced in the OP..
In an attempt to port this myself...I changed desc.txt to match the dimensions of the atrix screen. (540x960)
Copied it over to /system/media.. and rebooted.. Nothing happened. Just a black screen..
Do I need to re-size all the images in the zip to be 540x960 as well?? excuse my ignorance as graphic and animation aren't really my cup of tea..
How did you zip it?
Looking at the file on my phone desc.txt looks fine.
Assimilated via WinBorg 4G

Very nice. That worked 100%. So I am guessing that compressing them with winRAR was screwing it up.

I also changed the size in desc.txt to keep the correct ratio from the original.
<edit> Yes, it's the type of compression.
