PLEASE help me..

I went to install the new samsung update. I've used odin and never had many problems, but it didnt start the donwload, i removed the usb cable (while on the download screen on phone). Unplugged again, unresponsive to odin. Turned off phone and now when i turn it back on I get icon of PHONE ! Computer
I can't search for anything, because it's saaying the search is down for 5 minutes (10 minutes ago) . I know there is info on here for this but can someone tell me or point me where the correct link is so i dont mess up the phone.

Just redo the download procedure,ie turn off phone, plug in the usb and hold vol and power

I took out battery, phone is off, plugged in usb cable and I get the icon of the phone with exclamation point and PC. I never was able to get to download mode without using adb reboot download, but obviously now, i cant get to adb because it doesnt find the device anymore.

Don't worry about the icon, just do the same procedure and it'll do on download mode

But you can't because it doesnt see the device... im freaking out...

after you pull the battery and put back in, hold down the up and down volume buttons, THEN plug the usb in WHILE holding the volume buttons.

just imaging the icon with the phone and the pc is the battery icon... and do the same procedure... you will get to download mode again. and restart your computer and try.

That happened to me and just replaced my phone with tmobile and got a brand new one, yrust me nothing works when is in that image I gave up and called tmobile.

were you on eugene373's hybrid rom? I was and now it wont take any update old or new it either freezes or goes dark NOT TO BLAME EUGENE373 i love his work and I am just trying to find a common denominator

I was on Vibrant9 (I liked that one the best).
I hope I didnt kill this, if I did, then many people are going to

I've had my phone with this icon numerous times and had no problems getting back to download mode, like the previous poster said, just pretend its the battery icon and repeat the steps

it took about 25 tries but it finally worked may we should odin to old stock first then new stock,

Nope, this is not working, did this 10 times. I put battery back in, hold up.down then plug usb while holding, the screen keeps coming back the same. But like i keep saying, i was NEVER able to get to download mode before. Must have tried it 200 times.

take the battery out, put it back in. Plug the device and when you see the icon, hold vol up and down and power, as soon as the screen goes black remove your finger from the power button, but KEEP holding the vol. buttons until the dl screen comes on

Batt and cable off, plug cable hold buttons then battery in.
Remember u broke it u bought it, but ofcourse tmo will have to fix something U broke.

oh well, no matter what i try , it keeps going back to same screen. This is freaking frustrating. In my reading on here, there seems to be some people that are not able to get into donwload mode from the buttons. If this is the case for me, do i have ANY other options then bringing it to be Tmobile. I have only had the phone for 3 weeks, but i really want to get it resolved without bringing it in, i have lots of stuff on phone (i have backup off the phone).

Just call tmobile your gonna pop a vein trying to fix this just don't tell them you rooted your phone lol.

Should I call them or just go into a store with the box and all and say, the phone shut off then when i pushed power, this came on.. I cant believe this happend.

You know that they can probably fix it and that its not really BRICKED then when they find out that he had Superuser.apk, they'll add a fee to his bill and that would be even worse.

[Q] app download killed phone

I so hope someone can help.
Downloaded an app which i then couldnt close no matter what so i pulled out the battery put it back in and now all i have is a black screen and cant use my phone at all.
Tried hooking up to Kies but it wont let me do anything as saying app is still open.
Really hoping i dont loose everything can anybody help???!!!!

What was the app, and where did you download it from?
And if you hooked your phone up to kies and it saw it....then the phone must be powered up. Remove the battery again, wait 10 minutes, then replace it.

From the silence I assume he realised he hadn't actually turned his phone off at all and sorted it out...or the app killed HIM as well.

Nope im not dead and im a she not a he.
Yes the phone has power but only shows a black screen.
Yes the battery has actually been out all night.
No Kies did not tell me anything i got a box up on my phone when it conected saying could not connect as application open.
The application was called Kids mode by zoodles.
They have sent me 2 ways to reset my phone one of which to hold down the volume button then press the power button which shows a menu choose clear storage using the volume button and the phone should be restored....it doesnt do any of that just turns on.
The other way is this
a) Install the Android SDK from a website they mentioned
b) Connect the phone to the computer with a USB cable
c) Type "adb uninstall com.zoodles.kidmode"
of which i am currently attempting to understand.
If you know any different then your help would be appreciated.

oh and the app itself i found on the android market on my phone

try getting into recovery by pressing vol up+home button+power and release when the S logo pops up

Have been defeated all this messing about so have taken in to have system rebooted.

I had the same almost and am still locked in the "Logo of Limbo" ( the big S) after 10 days and dealers trying this and that. Can't say it was an app that caused it, but it seems resetting SGS is a task and a half sometimes

Well, it's not pressing but holding:
Shut down the phone
Hold Vol-Up+Home and power
Release power when you see "Galaxy S, GT-i9000, Samsung" blinks
if this doesnt work, try Vol+Down instead of Up, and update the status here with what you see.

I think I bricked my Vibrant... Quick question..

Went to flash from CM7 back to stock (following advice I found elsewhere on here,) and flashed just the .pit file, forgot to select the .tar file in ODIN.
After doing so, my phone is a complete brick. No power, no recognition in windows (adb or otherwise,) etc.
Is there anything I can do, or is it a total brick?
T-mobile has sent me a new phone as this phone's microphone stopped working a while ago, but I figured I'd make it stock prior to sending it back.
If it is bricked, will T-mobile figure out I had CM7 on it and charge me for the phone?

Do any lights come on at all? like the home key return key? When you charge it?
I have yet to hear of anyone sending their bricked phone back to tmobile and haveing them hear about it.

Yep it's bricked then send it back, your safe. Be careful on the new phone

I bricked five times they yet to say anything ,lol as long as the phone physically good they will send you a new phone and fast to no questions asked.

Tried that every way I know how.
I hold down both up and down volume buttons and try to turn it on. Nothing.
This is how I would previously get into download mode.
For what it's worth, I'm very careful with the phone. Was screwing around when I knew it was going back. I honestly was prepared to just buy a new one..

Try holding both volume keys, plugging into the computer. You should get into download mode that way. Then you could pop the battery back in.

Folks, unless you screwed up flashing a *bootloader* your phone is not bricked.
Remove the battery and sim card. Plug into USB port.
Hold both volume up and down while simultaneously insert the battery. Viola, download mode.

help me plz,phone is not working

whats up all,first off i never rooted or anything to my atrix but install the ota updates. today i unlocked my phone and there were pop ups on my screen saying, multiple processes had stopped working unexpectantly,so i pressed ok and then my phone just keeps rebooting to the moto logo or sometimes goes back to the home screen and the pop ups come up again,then it reboots. i cant use it or do anything. sometimes the LED blinks white,i dont know what that means,somebody plz help me,thx in advance

Sounds like a weird bootloop problem but then you said sometimes it goes to the home screen and then it shuts itself down. Try switching your phone off and switch it back on WHILE pressing(and holding) the volume down button on your phone and let us know if you see "fastboot" written on the screen? You should do.

So it just says "fastboot" and not "unlocked....fastboot"?
Either way, when you get to where it says "fastboot", press Vol down until it says "Android Recovery" and then press Vol up.
If you haven't flashed CWM you should get the little android with the triangle. At this point, press both volume buttons at the same time.
You should get a menu, use the volume keys to navigate to "Wipe" and then there should be an option at the bottom/left of the screen for "okay" and select that.

thx all,i got everything back working. the thing is,i called at&t yesterday and they have sent out a new phone.they didnt even suggest fastboot. thx again

I would have replied if I saw this earlier, but yes, other posters were right.
The solution to bootloops in 99.9% of cases is wipe data / factory reset. That should have fixed things up for you. But if you get a shiny new phone, that ain't bad either i reckon.

Mytouch 4g won't turn on, looks like my volume button is faulty

Hello please i need your help, i was charging with the phone switched on, but i when i tried switching it back on, it vibrates thrice and starts blinking led light. After some hours, i explained it to a friend who was a phone engineer, he tried to switch it on and it came on to my surprise. I took it and used it for some time, tried playing music with it and discovered my volume up key wasnt working. I wanted to change my sim card and it started with the vibration stuff again. It looks like it's the volume key that's causing this, please i need help on this

Thats a weird problem man. Are you rooted? If yes, what rom are you on? What recovery, and also can you get into bootloader? Holding volume down and power button at the same time when the phones off gets you there.

I am not using any custom rom or anything am using version 2.3.5 When i press the volume down with power, the phone vibrates five times and shows a static green led light with a blank screen. I have checked the forum for people with similar problems but have found no solution.

I think if it vibrates 7 times its a brick :s
2.3.5? You wanna double check that? I think 2.3.4 was the last update it got

Alright maybe am not sure of the rom but the phone vibrated 5times, what i think is dat the volume button is causing it because as soon as my volume button became faulty, i got dis problem

Solid green light. Blank screen. No boot.

Take the battery out.
Then put it in.
Then hold volume down and power and don't let go until you see something.
